Yes we should be using vitamin E for skin benefit and as an anti oxidant for our butters, it can slow rancidity if you use a more pure form . Look for T-50 mixed tocopherols. ❤️ The type of vitamin e oil used in this video is not an antioxidant for oil I am not sure about skin
Oh my! I love this. I just finished making it. I started yesterday. Then, I decided to put it in the freezer because you mentioned that you had to. Then I got crazy distracted. I thought my son wasn't going to need me for his TH-cam video. He has a TH-cam channel as well and well, instead of whipping my body butter, it sat in the freezer for hours while I followed him around our house, holding his boom mic while he filmed a Christmas Batman movie for his channel. 😂 Anyway, by the time I got it to, it was frozen, SOLID! My mixer barely scraped it. So I left it in the refrigerator overnight and then this morning let it come to room temp while I enjoyed my coffee. Then I whipped it up. I separated it into 2 batches and did 1/2 unscented and the other Peppermint. It's so luxurious. It seems like it's going to be oily, but it absorbs so much into my skin and feels so soft. Thank you so much. Merry Christmas to you all. If you want to see the Batman Christmas movie, ask, and I'll tell you his channel. (All my kids work together to make short films. They have a nice collection of their work. )
I've made this recipe now so many times, and I first shared it with family for Christmas. I got so many requests to make more, I decided to make it and take it to my shows. I offered sample jars with wooden sticks. Lots of people love it. Thank you for the recipe. ❤
Hi Ellen. This recipe looked so good. But not having the ingredients on hand, I decided to order product direct from you. Let me tell you what a wonderful experience that turned out to be! About two hours after placing my order I was notified the order was already processed! My order arrived a couple days later - about a week sooner than I expected! And I’m now enjoying not only your wonderful Whipped BODY BUTTER but also your delightful All Natural LIP BUTTER Balm. Thank you for all you do.
I made this lotion for the first time this evening, and my husband came into the kitchen and got all excited because he thought I was making a cream cheese onion dip we usually just have at parties, lol. He was a little disappointed but sure liked the feel of the lotion, lol. This was super easy to make, and I had a lot of fun making it. I messed up and accidentally ordered raw shea butter, so I'll need to use some strong eo's to help combat the scent of the shea. Thanks for your recipes and your great videos! 💜

If using essential oil(s), add at the end of meltIng. Vit E a good preservative and good for your skin so I always use a couple capsules when melting. You can also use a distilled water to make the cream slightly thinner and easier to apply to skin. If you don’t have a piping bag, a zip lock back with a corner cut will work also.

Wow, I make my body butter with all three butters you used, but I use sweet almond oil and Grape seed, or avocado oil, and this is so good and moisturizing for your skin, I really love it!! I use corn starch instead of arrow root just because its cheaper and its just about the same thing and it doesn't leave your skin greasy, it feels silky and soft 🥰. You really need a stand mixer Ellen lol, its so much easier! I have to get some of this Bergamot scent, I really love that smell. Thank you for the recipe, I will try the jojoba oil in my next batch.

I like to wait longer for absorption and not add arrowroot. I find there is a starchy stickiness if I add it. Just personal preference. The main butters and oils sound delish 💛
I have been researching many recipes to use. I had purchased all the ingredients; therefore, I tried your recipe. It turned out perfect. I love it! This was my first time making it. I decided to use my crockpot on low and warm. When I put the crock in the refrigerator, I just would whisk periodically until it was ready to whip. Lots of companies are now leaving out preservative because all of the current ones on the market contain endocrine disrupters. Companies like Fat and the Moon now sell all ingredients without preservative and you refrigerate them and the have specific use by dates.
@@amandacarr4633 I would never risk that. Sure you can keep it refrigerated but if ANY water is introduced to it then it WILL grow mold, refrigerated or not.

I'm excited to try this recipe, although I'm a bit thrown by microwaving all the butters and oils in a plastic bowl. Any medicinal properties will be lost by using the appliance and using plastic surely releases microplastics into the body butter. I've always been told not to microwave plastics, not just because they can melt, but heating polyethylene and other forms of plastic starts breaking it down. For this reason, I only use stainless steel (double boiler) or glass (if I'm adding clay).

I guess you can use regular corn starch too if you don’t have arrowroot powder or tapioca powder but the arrowroot powder is a finer powder so better to use that … correct?
Thank you! I think I'm mildly allergic to arrowroot powder so this is so helpful!
Could you also use corn starch in place of arrowroot?
@@kimmartin9943I've seen ppl using it
I just found you and watched your video what a special kind person you are to teach us …and your music is delightful … I don’t have any extra money to buy body butter because they are so expensive so I will try this. Wish me luck…
Thank you for sharing this recipe! I made it today and it turned out so lovely. 🤗
Love the music....
Fall on your knees, hear the angel voices, oh night divine, oh night when Christ was born.
Merry Christmas everyone!
Merry Christmas🎄
I love using Arrowroot powder in my products. It's a natural degreaser. Will definitely give this recipe a try. Thanks Ellen:)
Hope you like it!
As always Ellen another beautiful looking product
Oh thank you!
@@EllenRuthSoap I want to try this one
This video was so helpful in so many ways ! Learned some great tips. I am just starting out with making body butters and struggle with the greasiness. Thanks so much Ellen!
🥰💕
ola all right I'm from Brazil and I'm loving its content, I would like to give a suggestion, which also put the amount in percentage, because this would facilitate for other countries with other units of measure aiming at what percentage is great global hug
What a wonderful presentation.. I have never made anything like this before. With your instructions, I think I might give it a try. Thanks so much 💜
Hope you enjoy!
Very nice video. Very cute product. I have recently been diagnosed with psoriasis on my hands and am searching for videos to make my first body butter / hand creme to help heal my skin.
Excellent video! Love the piping bag method for filling the jars. Thank you so much. Happy holidays!
You are so welcome!
Thank you for being so informative, new here to making homemade lotions, just doing my homework in what I need to make body butter lotion for myself and one day possibly sell. I love how you explain everything, about the jars, cleaning them properly, putting your labels on them and the seal on top of the jar is just fabulous. Good to know facts for a person in creating a business for themselves.
Glad it was helpful!
Gorgeous! Now I have the craving for some homemade Buttercream icing - lol .. love your videos - thank you for sharing! BTW - I noticed the spatula trick when you were putting on your labels - definitely going to use that :)
Thanks so much! 😊
Just wanted to say even though it feels a little gritty in the beginning as I keep rubbing , the grittiness goes away. Thank you for the wonderful recipe
Ok Ellen you've convinced me to try this recipe, I'm extremely new to soap making but I do have all the ingredients for this except the optiphen but you said it wasn't necessary, Wish me luck. BTW I love your videos, you've really helped me with a lot recipes when you give us substitute ingredients and lots of other tips. Thank you
Thanks for watching! Have fun making!
Yes you are Not selfish thats wonderful Thank you.😊
Wow, I make my body butter with all three butters you used, but I use sweet almond oil and Grape seed, or avocado oil, and this is so good and moisturizing for your skin, I really love it!!
Sweet almond and avocado oil would be so nice in this! Yes, a stand mixer is on my wish list for sure...
I ADORE the scent of jojoba! Id use it for that alone; if for no othervreason!
I used the same butters,i love the feel. I used kaloin clay if greasy.
@@starlapercle9575 so you sub the arrowroot for Kaloin clay instead ?
@@EllenRuthSoap I tried the recipe without the fragrance at the end and mine whipped brick solid! How do I fix this? Also another time it whipped right but the next day it was hard help???
I like isopropyl myristrate. It feels amazing on your skin and not greasy
I can't wait to make this - it sounds fantastic! Thanks for sharing! Your videos are always the best and my favorite!
Thanks for watching 🥰 hope you love it❣️
I like to wait longer for absorption and not add arrowroot. I find there is a starchy stickiness if I add it. Just personal preference.
The main butters and oils sound delish 💛
Great recipe. Love your packaging!
Me too, I think that is so well done and very professional
I have been researching many recipes to use. I had purchased all the ingredients; therefore, I tried your recipe. It turned out perfect. I love it! This was my first time making it. I decided to use my crockpot on low and warm. When I put the crock in the refrigerator, I just would whisk periodically until it was ready to whip. Your instructions were the best because my butter is lovely. Thank you!
Love & your instructions are great! Also love how sanitary you are! ❤️
🥰
Thank you, Ellen. I have watched many of your videos. You're very knowledgeable and a great teacher. Thank you very much.
Esthetician here & skincare brand formulator for 6 yrs now 👋🏼 PLEASE always use a non-paraben preservative in all products especially if they are for retail.
Also, grape seed oil only has a 6 month shelf life so WITHOUT a preservative, the product will only be safe for 6 months.
Happy Holidays!
thanks for the great info! Merry Christmas🎄
Lots of companies are now leaving out preservative because all of the current ones on the market contain endocrine disrupters. Companies like Fat and the Moon now sell all ingredients without preservative and you refrigerate them and the have specific use by dates.
Also I am an organic chemist and licensed cosmetologist.
@@inkpearls3364 thank you for the knowledge ☺️🙏
@@amandacarr4633 I would never risk that. Sure you can keep it refrigerated but if ANY water is introduced to it then it WILL grow mold, refrigerated or not.
Ordering mango butter tonight to make this recipe!
Love all your recipes 💕and you look beautiful as always.
Can’t wait to try this! ✨
Thanks so much 😊 Have fun making!
i love your zest and fiery positive queendom attitude and disposition!!!!!
I recently retired after working my entire life and I am wanting to learn this to learn this as extra income and to have something to fill my time!!! Thank you for this!
I appreciate you taking your time to share this video with us. It is very informative for someone who is just starting out!! Much love 💜 ☺️
This is a wonderful tutorial. I did have a concern about microwaving the butters. It was always my understanding to melt the butter in a hot water bath, to keep the integrity of the butters. Thank you again for this tutorial!
Double boiler method is great for this recipe❣️
I used my crock pot to melt the butters.
Thank you so much. I learned a lot from your video. I see where my mistakes are made, so now I'm excited about making a better, firmer butter. That's my main issue, the firmness, while maintaining a fluffier product. Thanks again!!
This is such a lovely product. I have made some and sold a few. Thank you Ellen.
That body butter looked amazing. Might try and give a 1/2 recipe a go, just for myself and close family, friends. By the way, I thought you presented them beautifully, With there earthy tone labels, and then that little seal round the top, perfect.🥰🇬🇧⛄
Thanks❣️ Hope you love the recipe.
⚜️Thanks for sharing this video.
May I asked where do you buy your containers 🫙 from with the liners? Also what is the label 🏷️ size for the 6 oz jars❓Thank you✨🙋🏻♀️💫
My labels are 1.5x5" and here is a link for the jars: amzn.to/47DbnVS
I made some yesterday. I waited to see if it would melt away. I got nervous because as I was piping the whipped body butter into the jars it was melting all over my hands. My husband tried it when he got home from work and took a jar for himself. Husband approved!! Thank you so much for sharing. I am giving these as gifts to friends and family and I know they will love this. I enjoy watching your channel you share so much wonderful information. Have a wonderful holiday.
I'm so glad you're loving it! It does melt on skin pretty quickly, but that's what helps it absorb so fast too...
I made this, without the arrowroot because I didn't have any. Came out really lovely!
Thank you for the video lots of good info
Making something for my very minor exzema, thanks. It went away when using a no name private label soap but after a year its a bit drying.
Buying natural exzema soap online and gonna make this, and or also find something at the health food shop. Thanks
Ellen, I don't know what it is about you but you're the first soap maker I ran into here on TH-cam. I don't even know why your video was a suggestion but TH-cam got it right! I became obsessed and watched a ton of your videos.
I haven't done soap YET but I did feel incredibly inspired to try this recipe! I quartered this batch for my first attempt. Thank you for the addition of the arrow root powder! That's what sold me on this recipe. After I jarred mine I stuck them back in my fridge because, why not?
I really appreciate your personality and just the way you laugh at any mishaps that may occur. I plan on ordering some of you soaps, too! Thank you so much
So glad you found me! Have fun making 💕
Ellen, will you please do a short video on how to purchase the right "seal" for jars and tins and also how to use them? It would be really helpful! TY!
Great recipe, we use arrow root in Jamaica to make porridge, so delicious and nutritious, yum!
you can tell her stuff works cause her skin looks so good
🥰 thank you sweetie 💕
very nice job, I learn a lot and I'm grateful.
I received my supplies last weekend for this amazing body butter! I absolutely love it & have noticed a HUGE difference in my skin. My hands look 20 years younger in just a week. I can’t thank you enough for sharing these recipes. You are truly amazing. I just ordered supplies for the scoop lotion to try. Is the aloe Vera juice the same as what you drink?
Yes 👍
Thank you for your teaching so clear on your teaching
Thanks for watching❣️
Thank you for sharing! You are very easy to follow and enjoyable to watch. God bless you.

ELLEN I love your videos. I will start making your body butters. I'm very new at this and can't wait to order the products and start. I appreciate you and all your professional education you are willing to share. Many thanks. I will post once I make this body butter.
Wonderful! Have fun making💕
@@EllenRuthSoap I did make your body butter and it feels real good. If I add more arrowroot, while that change the way the butter glides on the skin? While it make the body butter harder?? Many thanks
Best video for whipped body butter yet! Thank you
Thanks❣️
Thank you for sharing...its the best videos I've viewed...thank you again
Wow, thank you!
I'd like the fluffy crème
🥰
Best whipped body butter show and tell vid!! Ty!
I love all your recipes..i have try to make them almost all of them..love them
Glad you like them!💕
Thanks for sharing the video. It was really nice and I learned a lot. It came out great. Thanks again.
Thank you for sharing, very interesting. God bless.
I hope you love the recipe! A double boiler works great for this formula💕
@@EllenRuthSoap I do love it!! I made some last night and am using it now!! The arrow root powder addition is brilliant!!

Thank you so much🥰 and thanks for watching 💕
Love your body butter. What is the amount of preservatives you use
I use .3% of the total volume
Thank you love bug for the video.
You really are a love, Ellen. A pleasure to watch your videos. Thank you for this recipe. I made it last night. When I applied it to my legs I hadn't yet rubbed it in and it began melting down my leg. Would that be because it needs to be rubbed in right away?
Yes, it starts to melt on skin contact, so rub it in right away.
Great video. I will yry this. Thanks so much for sharing and thanks for your positive energy...🎉
Thanks for sharing, Ellen. That is very kind of you. God bless you.
You’re welcome 🥰🎄
I love this video, thank you. I have to make this non-scented version. I'm sure it's less expensive than buying lotion from the store. I already buy these oils and butters for my hair and non- whipped cream for my daughter's eczema. These would be so wonderful as gifts too for male and females.
You explained each thing very well ❤❤❤❤
Love it I wanna learn to make this
Sounds wonderful , thank you
