Thank you for saying…”don’t apologize for your prices!” Shampoo and conditioner bars are expensive and labor intensive to make, mold, wrap and label! I just love your personality!!
Oooh I have tested so many conditioner bar recipes and none of them are 'the One'. Can't wait to try this. I ran it through my SM3 and ended up with the same COG as you. Out of curiosity I changed the BTMS to 25 and it dropped the per bar cost to $1.50. I may offer a regular bar with the 25 and an extra moisturizing with the 50 at a higher price.
hey Sherry, you had me running to my SM3 to see what it would do for mine and it dropped the price significantly to use the 25 ($2.90) not as much as yours though let me know how it goes for you - after reading up on it just be aware that it will make the bar harder to use the 25 - I don't know what that will do to the usability. Marie at Humblebee and Me recommend dropping the cetyl alcohol to compensate - not sure if all or just some though I did find btms on Lotion Craft and a much much lower price. this will go a long way into making this more affordable to make 🤗
@@WalnutCreekBathBoutique The testing is going to be interesting. People don't understand how much R&D goes into these products. I didn't include tins in my costs, so that probably accounts for the cost difference.
@@WalnutCreekBathBoutique $2.90 cost for me equals about $12 retail. Not horrible for a conditioner bar. I used to pay at least that for a bottle of conditioner- that was mostly water. Humectress was over $20/bottle. Dont sell yourself short.
Love your videos, ive just purchased some Stephenson's melt and pour conditioner, ive already got the shampoo and love it. My hair looks and feels so much better. I won't be buying shampoo from a shop again and if the conditioner turns out good i won't be buying any more of that either.

You are so welcome! - Thanks! I read this as I decided to change it LOL they just didn't fit my tins as well as I would like - very very tightly packed. I ordered new (what I thought was bigger) tins and they were even worse.😆🤔
I searched all over the description and could not find the recipe. I tried to see the amounts used on the video but in the 2nd half, the scale was turned away. Please let me know where in the description I can find it. Thanks.
I posted the video of where I got the recipe - she shares it during the video (number 3), I went ahead and went to that video for you and got the blog post that also gives the recipe - wholeelise.com/blog/hair-conditioner-bars/
I don't have that for you but the link in the description will take you to the video I got the recipe from - I don't remember if it is in her description or if it is in the video itself. I believe it is the last recipe she shares in her video if that helps
Speaking from experience :) you may want to reconsider the shape of both the conditioner bars and the shampoo bars. Flatter shapes tend to break into pieces once they have worn down a bit. You can offset this by putting them in a mesh bag (which also helps create lather with the shampoo bars, and gives a way to hang them in the shower). Still, if you want the bars to last longer before breaking, a cube or more spherical shape will work best. A larger square ice cube mold works very well! Because the conditioner bars last so long, I make those in smaller circumference (but deeper) heart shapes that stand up well to regular use. Also, I'd pack the bars in just the coffee filter and skip the tin, which will rust once it gets wet. Ask me how I know ;)
I make shampoos, conditioners, and lotions strictly as a hobby. I have a very good conditioner recipe, however, I was searching for a alternative recipe just for variety. I tried junk after junk recipe. I reluctantly tried this one. It is remarkably good. It leaves my color treated, blow dried hair, soft and conditioned. The recipe is simple, and not too expensive. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe and your knowledge and experience in general.
sorry, I don't. I like the idea of castor oil though LOL good luck! Maybe check out whole elise's site and see if she does, I was thinking she did have one.
Hey friend! That sounds like a nice recipe. After I pour mine into the molds, I use my heat gun to smooth out the tops. Supplies are getting so expensive, I haven't made much of anything lately and a lot of the other soap ladies in my area are closing down. It was nice to see your smiling face! ❤
