Thank you for saying…”don’t apologize for your prices!” Shampoo and conditioner bars are expensive and labor intensive to make, mold, wrap and label! I just love your personality!!
aw, thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words 💕
You are right. Thank you. This is the first conditioner bar I love!! Thanks for sharing.
You are so welcome! It has been a really hot seller for me! I also sourced BTMS at a much lower cost and was able to drop these to $16!💕
Thank you so much . I love the packaging
You are so welcome! - Thanks! I read this as I decided to change it LOL
they just didn't fit my tins as well as I would like - very very tightly packed. I ordered new (what I thought was bigger) tins and they were even worse.😆🤔
Thank you for sharing! And i love Whole Elise 's channel, too!! She's got great recipes!
she really does! I don't know how I missed her all these years! 💗
Love your videos, ive just purchased some Stephenson's melt and pour conditioner, ive already got the shampoo and love it. My hair looks and feels so much better. I won't be buying shampoo from a shop again and if the conditioner turns out good i won't be buying any more of that either.
oh I'm glad you found something that you are liking! I hope the conditioner works for you. Everyone has such strong opinions on their hair care products - it is hard to please the masses 😆
I make shampoos, conditioners, and lotions strictly as a hobby. I have a very good conditioner recipe, however, I was searching for a alternative recipe just for variety. I tried junk after junk recipe. I reluctantly tried this one. It is remarkably good. It leaves my color treated, blow dried hair, soft and conditioned. The recipe is simple, and not too expensive. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe and your knowledge and experience in general.
You are so welcome! Thanks so much for watching! 🤗
I love whole Elize too. Her videos are great!
right!?! I do too, she is great.💗
Hey friend! That sounds like a nice recipe. After I pour mine into the molds, I use my heat gun to smooth out the tops. Supplies are getting so expensive, I haven't made much of anything lately and a lot of the other soap ladies in my area are closing down. It was nice to see your smiling face! ❤
hey Heather! I have been thinking about you for awhile now! I started to reach out to you to see if you were ok! I was surprised that you didn't respond in my bath bomb video awhile back, I totally gave you credit for inspiring me 😆
That is sad about the economy running people into the ground. it is hard - I am trying really hard not to raise prices but I feel like it is probably coming😦 - I did find btms much much cheaper so that is really helping my costs for this.
hope you are well - thanks for commenting - I was ready to send out the Calvary! 😂💕
@WalnutCreekBathBoutique haha I'm ok! I have been spending all of my time building my new ice cream and coffee food truck. It's finally finished so I have some time to sit down and catch up on videos. I will go look for the bathbomb video ❤️
Thank you Tammy for sharing.🥰
You are so welcome, thank you for watching! 🤗
Very nice and cute packaging. Your hair looks great btw. I'm hard on my scales too! lol
aw, thanks! I am loving my shorter curls
I only hope the state of my scales doesn't come through on video LOL So BAD!! 😂💗
Oh, my curly hair needs this! Im gonna try this recipe, Tammy!❤
Hope you like it! I really really do - it is a bit more work to use a bar vs liquid but as far as the product goes it is a winner for my curls!💕
Don't apologize for your prices! Products and shipping is very expensive ,, I enjoy your videos! Eden Bound Soap
Oh thank you Judith! I appreciate your watching 😍
Hair products are so expensive to make. But worth the cost in the long run. This sounds like an amazing recipe!
hey Nora! yep I really like this one - just takes a bit longer to use a bar as opposed to liquid but I don't mind. I've sold all but 2 so far, I'm really surprised at that! (and happy of course!) hope you have a good rest of your weekend!💕
Oooh I have tested so many conditioner bar recipes and none of them are 'the One'. Can't wait to try this. I ran it through my SM3 and ended up with the same COG as you. Out of curiosity I changed the BTMS to 25 and it dropped the per bar cost to $1.50. I may offer a regular bar with the 25 and an extra moisturizing with the 50 at a higher price.
hey Sherry, you had me running to my SM3 to see what it would do for mine and it dropped the price significantly to use the 25 ($2.90) not as much as yours though
let me know how it goes for you - after reading up on it just be aware that it will make the bar harder to use the 25 - I don't know what that will do to the usability. Marie at Humblebee and Me recommend dropping the cetyl alcohol to compensate - not sure if all or just some though
I did find btms on Lotion Craft and a much much lower price. this will go a long way into making this more affordable to make 🤗
@@WalnutCreekBathBoutique The testing is going to be interesting. People don't understand how much R&D goes into these products. I didn't include tins in my costs, so that probably accounts for the cost difference.
@@sherrybagley oh, yep that would do it. you are right - they have no idea!
@@WalnutCreekBathBoutique $2.90 cost for me equals about $12 retail. Not horrible for a conditioner bar. I used to pay at least that for a bottle of conditioner- that was mostly water. Humectress was over $20/bottle. Dont sell yourself short.
@@WalnutCreekBathBoutiqueBefore I forget. Scented Expressions has the best price on btms 50 that i have found
I love whole Elise and Bramble berry has BTMS 50 for 27.00 for 1 pound
she is great! I did find BTMS for much less on Scented Expressions - I think it was like $16 or so a pound - crazy! I ordered a 5 pound bag so I don't have to worry about running out again and paying crazy money for it LOL
Speaking from experience :) you may want to reconsider the shape of both the conditioner bars and the shampoo bars. Flatter shapes tend to break into pieces once they have worn down a bit. You can offset this by putting them in a mesh bag (which also helps create lather with the shampoo bars, and gives a way to hang them in the shower). Still, if you want the bars to last longer before breaking, a cube or more spherical shape will work best. A larger square ice cube mold works very well! Because the conditioner bars last so long, I make those in smaller circumference (but deeper) heart shapes that stand up well to regular use. Also, I'd pack the bars in just the coffee filter and skip the tin, which will rust once it gets wet. Ask me how I know ;)
thanks for all of your tips! I will def keep that in mind
Fair price
thank you so much!🤗
OMG! I just priced your btms50 at crafters choice and if you paid 60 something for one pound?!?! IDK but that's a crazy price! I guess being broke has it's benefits because I wouldn't be able to afford to make conditioner bars for that price. Sorry this comment is so long but I'm going to tell you where to look for a better price!! So, I've purchased from I Believe it was scented expressions and for the price of one pound at Crafters choice you can buy five pounds from scented expressions! Also similarly priced is lotion crafters, and Shay and company. I live in Washington so shipping isn't too bad from those two. The scented expressions I waited forever for shipping! I'm not sure if they're still like that but it was over a month! Hope this helps! ❤ Oh yeah! Unrefined Cupuacu butter and morninga oil are so good for hair products! At least in my experience. Just an fyi if your interested in continued research ☺️ LOL thanks for sharing Tammy! Have a great week!
I paid $50! it was last December. I don't order from WSP unless they are having a really good sale, or I'm desperate LOL (I don't remember what it was back then)
I know I looked around to try to get the best price along with other things I needed as this is something I ALWAYS do
Lotion Crafter recently changed where they get it and it is only $17 a pound!!! - but they are out of stock often.
I'm def going to be stocking up with them and probably just go ahead and buy 5 pounds
thanks for the recommendations on cupuacu butter and morninga oil - I have used cupuacu but morninga is new to me! I will add it to my list! 💕
I made this bars for myself and they last really relay long. 8 months for my long hair.
wow that is amazing! I have 2 of those oblong bars left in my drawer because I am still using the other half of the one I cut for my table 😮I really like it so much.
do you have an easy (beginner) recipe for the Shampoo Bar (maybe with castor oil)
sorry, I don't. I like the idea of castor oil though LOL
good luck! Maybe check out whole elise's site and see if she does, I was thinking she did have one.
Brambleberry has BTMS-50 for $26.29 a pound. I bought it last year on sale from them. So, I got it for about 22 bucks with shipping.
hey Wendy! I found it on Lotion Crafter for $17 a pound!!! they are often out of stock though so I am going to stock up soon so I am not making more desperate orders (which I did again last week when lotion crafter was out and paid $36 for a pound 😟)
@@WalnutCreekBathBoutique I'm so glad! It's frustrating as a maker when cost prohibits creativity! I checked out Soaper's Choice, but they just had BTMS-25. BTW, I've used your conditioner sample and it's very nice without being too heavy in my hair. I like it. Very subtle scent. Not really perfumy, if ya know what I mean. Thanks for the extra goodies in my order!!😍😍
Morning Tammy!😊
Good night again 😆
Dang it! LOL after seeing the price for the btms50 i totally forgot what i wanted to comment! I love the way you packaged those bars! I've been looking for the perfect mold for my bars, I wanted round bar. I have a question. What weight are your conditioner bars? And will you put your mold on your Amazon link and your scale. Idk if your scale is the KD7000 or the KD8000 but I'm wanting to buy one soon, so if you put it in your Amazon store thing I'll use your link. Thanks😊
aw, that is so sweet Melissa! I appreciate your using my link 💕 (I don't know if you know this but if you add items from my link to your cart and wait too long to purchase I don't get credit - I think it has to be within a day or 2) 🤔 - that sounds sales pitchy and I'm cringing a little LOL
My scale is the KD8000 (in my storefront in the tools of the trade section)
my silicone mold is also there in the silicone mold section - it is the blue wilton one
My conditioner bars are 2 ounces - if you use the same mold def weigh them when pouring - I did not fill them all the way up to hopefully allow them to fit the tins.
@@WalnutCreekBathBoutique awesome thanks! And I know it probably feels sales pitchy and strange but if that's the way it works it's better for me to know than to do it wrong and you miss out. I know I have gone on there and changed my mind on some things before. So it's good to know I have a time limit. Thanks☺️
What’s the highest priced ingredient? The BTMS? Just wondering.
yep, BTMS and of course when I last bought it I got it from WSP - my mistake as it is so much more there. Lotion Crafter is the best place I have found so far.
@@WalnutCreekBathBoutique LC and Soaper’s Choice are pretty close in cost per oz.
@@MsAubrey WHAT?!?! Soaper's Choice has BTMS??!!! I had NO Idea!! Thank you! I order from them all the time...who am I kidding I order from LC all the time too but not as often as SC! 😘
@@WalnutCreekBathBoutique same same!
Y la formula?
That BTMS 50 is expensive 😩😩
I know! crazy - I did just find it on Lotioncrafter at a much more reasonable price though - I will be stocking up from them! So much cheaper that I may be lowering my price on them! 🤗
