Gotta love how the ice doesnt break for thousands of tons of steel slamming/sliding on it, but breaks when they need it to. This is kinda like that scene in Polar Express where the pin broke the ice, but the train didnt, but that was more believable.

The problem with Pacific Rim 2 is that it makes the Jaegers smaller, more lightweight and WAY faster. It makes the movie feel less serious and more of what we felt like making those toys fight each other as babies.
I feel ya. It’s supposed to represent the newer generation of jaegers, an even more advanced version of Striker epsilon from the first film. Wear Gypsy Danger was more like a Battleship, Striker Epsilon was an early version of a Navel destroyer. Their size and movement are entirely accurate to the narrative of the story. But theirs just some inherently more entertaining about watching several hundred tuns of steel beat on each other like floating metal punching bags.

The movie is horrible. It had so many cool ideas that they tried to do all at once. Rogue jeagers is a cool concept, but they only use it like two times. The jeager drones being controlled by Kaiju was a dope idea, but they only show up once. It could’ve been good, but they tried to do multiple things at once

2:50 I don't like how they just punched through Apex’s chest. That's a lot of metal to just punch through it like that. I mean, they just punched him in the stomach with a running start and nothing. Even though he got slashed, it was way too shallow to compromise his chest's armors' structural integrity enough to get punched clean through with just a punch. They should've activated their Elbow Rocket which would've made it believable.💯🤷♂️

Plus, it's half the size of Dangers and the same size as Avengersp Chest Turbines yet produces considerably mopre power then both. Furthermore, Obsidian Fury is outfitted with Obisidian Chrome Shielding meaning he can't be harmed by conventional military or Kaiju attacks. Apex can even reflect most energy weapon attacks from an enemy back at them. The armor shielding is even more durable than a full titanium hull.
My problem with this movie despite liking it was the sheer difference between 1's Jaegers vs 2's. I agree(somewhat), because yes while the yeagers may not look like they have the same weight behind the punch as in the first movie, they do still have that same sound design (maybe more) and to me that helps a lot, because though you can’t see it, you can certainly hear it, also this is the first/second fight between two yeagers, so obviously it’s not gonna sound like fighting a kaiju is like.
Best giant mech vs mech fight up to date. Excellent graphic & special effect. This cgi were more complete & detailed than the 1st one. Daytime full cgi were extremely difficult compared to the night time fight.

Jaeger pilots do a drift. Where their movement and thoughts synchronize. The scenes here make it look like they have to keep communicating to make decisions. notice how the other pilot didnt see the missiles while the other notices a split second earlier, where in truth they shouldve seen that at the same time. The 1st movie didnt make this mistake. Or maybe these 2 guys are just not drift compatible
no no if they're not drift compatible they literally just CAN'T even make the jaeger move drifting is basically to split the neural load into 2 so they can pilot the Jaegers left hemisphere and right hemisphere of they are not drift compatible it means they can't drift meaning the neural load isn't split and it WILL kill them

Awesome seeing the each of their weapons with combat fighting moves, and a Jager vs another Jager. Although it does look better having a Jager vs a kaiju fight/ battle rather this, Jager vs Jager.
The thing I liked about the first pacific rim conpod scenes is that the conpod moved and it felt like you're actually inside the Jager and it was more emersive
I have to say out of all the jaegers in this film the only 2 that moved more like the first film were november ajax and obsidian fury as they moved slower than the rest which made them both (especially obsidian fury) feel more like a strong slow powerhouse of a machine. Obsidian fury has to be one of the only good parts of the film
November Ajax seemed to be more so, obsidian had a lot of screentime where he moved as fast, or at-least just slightly slower, than the rest of the main jaegers of the film, but there are moments where he does move slow such as when he emerged from the waters in his first appearance

Its too smooth, one of the reasons i loved the first movie were the slow, ponderous, clunky movements that gave these things weight. Its why cherno alpha was my fav. But these are too smooth, for all eye know these things could be two normal sized men in suits. There's no size or weight to these things.

The way the Jaegers move and fight it looks like it was taken from an MCU movie, specifically anything with Iron Man. The big difference, of course, is that Iron Man's suits are just that, a much smaller suit designed to cover a single person, whereas a Jaeger is supposed to be a giant, hulking mechanized robot.

Apparently because the plasma cannon which was the original weapon from the the original gipsy danger is on the left arm whereas the right arm is now replaced with permanent gravity sling, the sword which was integrated with plasma cannon is only in the left arm

@@slvrcobra1337 Danger had 2 swords as part of it's upgrades and to defend itself same way literally ANY jaeger is given 2 bladed weapons. Avenger having 1 sword is both a continuity and inconsistency error at best, it being a different jaeger has nothing to do with it. Striker eureka/berserker both had 2 swords and look at how efficient they are at taking down kaiju.
i think gipsy does have two it just never used the other one, also when gipsy got upgraded with the plasms chain saws it was shown on screen that it had two, so im pretty sure that gipsy originally had two swords.
I love how they tank the rockets instead of dodging and are fine, but in Sydney they dodge them and get an entire building of innocent people killed. They really didn’t understand what made the original work, did they?

Nah man it's useful for offbrand cheap jaegers but obsidian fury was supposed to be the new FLAGSHIP to replace Gipsy avenger. No way obsidian is gonna fall for some weapons used to freeze cheap jaegers. Still we don't know what November has as its armament. It'll out match obsidian only if it has good weaponry and pilots.
November Ajax's stun tasers are to low voltage to take down a fully sized jaeger, November's tasers only work on small scrap metal constructed rogue jaegers.
@@Eradicator-jv9xr Obsidian was never meant to take gipsy's place because the PPDC never even knew it was being constructed. Obsidian was meant as a test for the new kaiju jaeger hybrids that newton was creating.
It's unfortunate. If the plot was tweaked a little here and there, the acting was improved a tad, and they made the jeagers more heavy and mechanical like in the first film, this could've been a great sequel! The plot on it's own isn't bad, especial the involvement of a rouge jeager such as Obsidian Fury
it's funny that right after this fight was over, they were asking the pilots (they thought it had) to be inside to come out and surrender, they had just crossed the jaeger's head with a sword and hoped that there would be a live pilot to go out? Lol
It's weird how after they kinda forced the movie out they cancelled all future plans. Del Toro wasn't available, Hunnam wasn't available due to filming other projects. So why would they go ahead, do a new script and everything? They probably knew it wouldn't be recieved well but they still made it. They couldn't of waited for both Toro and Hunnam to be available?
This movie is still enjoyable despite all it's flaws but it could have been even better than the original if it was a prequel about the first kaiju invasions before the jaegers and then the first jaeger V kaiju fights

Personally I think that was one of the worst parts. Independence Day 2 just did it maybe like a year before. And in both cases it makes zero sense. How are they going to do it? What makes them think they have any chance of winning on their home turf? Jaegers take months-years to make. That was literally why they were building the walls in 1. They literally lost all of their jaegers in 2. How are they planning to attack them?

Obsidian Fury: THAT'S WHY I HAVE NO FEAR!
Jaeger pilots do a drift. Where their movement and thoughts synchronize. The scenes here make it look like they have to keep communicating to make decisions. notice how the other pilot didnt see the missiles while the other notices a split second earlier, where in truth they shouldve seen that at the same time. The 1st movie didnt make this mistake. Or maybe these 2 guys are just not drift compatible

no no if they're not drift compatible they literally just CAN'T even make the jaeger move drifting is basically to split the neural load into 2 so they can pilot the Jaegers left hemisphere and right hemisphere of they are not drift compatible it means they can't drift meaning the neural load isn't split and it WILL kill them
@@NewGenesis906 thats my point. Then it really doesnt make sense that they keep yapping too much. Hence 1st movie was better. And like i said. The part that the other pilot seen the missiles coming yet the other pilot doesnt notice. Which makes 0 sense.

Awesome seeing the each of their weapons with combat fighting moves, and a Jager vs another Jager. Although it does look better having a Jager vs a kaiju fight/ battle rather this, Jager vs Jager.
Beautiful CGI.

The thing I liked about the first pacific rim conpod scenes is that the conpod moved and it felt like you're actually inside the Jager and it was more emersive

I have to say out of all the jaegers in this film the only 2 that moved more like the first film were november ajax and obsidian fury as they moved slower than the rest which made them both (especially obsidian fury) feel more like a strong slow powerhouse of a machine. Obsidian fury has to be one of the only good parts of the film
November Ajax seemed to be more so, obsidian had a lot of screentime where he moved as fast, or at-least just slightly slower, than the rest of the main jaegers of the film, but there are moments where he does move slow such as when he emerged from the waters in his first appearance
Ye guess what. It's called improvement. They moved on from their clunky prototype.

Its too smooth, one of the reasons i loved the first movie were the slow, ponderous, clunky movements that gave these things weight. Its why cherno alpha was my fav. But these are too smooth, for all eye know these things could be two normal sized men in suits. There's no size or weight to these things.
As much as this movie sucked, they had great action sequences, especially with Obsidian Fury

The way the Jaegers move and fight it looks like it was taken from an MCU movie, specifically anything with Iron Man. The big difference, of course, is that Iron Man's suits are just that, a much smaller suit designed to cover a single person, whereas a Jaeger is supposed to be a giant, hulking mechanized robot.

Wouldn’t Gypsy have two swords instead of one
Apparently because the plasma cannon which was the original weapon from the the original gipsy danger is on the left arm whereas the right arm is now replaced with permanent gravity sling, the sword which was integrated with plasma cannon is only in the left arm
@@narukamishirou284 actually no the reason avenger has 1 sword instead of two is because John boyega forgot danger had 2 swords from the first film
@@Kaiju-bm4ts Or...its because Avenger is a whole different Jaeger from Gipsy Danger and simply has one sword? There was never really a good reason for Danger to have two swords when it was a last resort weapon anyway.
@@slvrcobra1337 Danger had 2 swords as part of it's upgrades and to defend itself same way literally ANY jaeger is given 2 bladed weapons. Avenger having 1 sword is both a continuity and inconsistency error at best, it being a different jaeger has nothing to do with it. Striker eureka/berserker both had 2 swords and look at how efficient they are at taking down kaiju.
i think gipsy does have two it just never used the other one, also when gipsy got upgraded with the plasms chain saws it was shown on screen that it had two, so im pretty sure that gipsy originally had two swords.

I love how they tank the rockets instead of dodging and are fine, but in Sydney they dodge them and get an entire building of innocent people killed.

Nah man it's useful for offbrand cheap jaegers but obsidian fury was supposed to be the new FLAGSHIP to replace Gipsy avenger. No way obsidian is gonna fall for some weapons used to freeze cheap jaegers. Still we don't know what November has as its armament. It'll out match obsidian only if it has good weaponry and pilots.
I don’t think those electro cables would be able to take down a jeager of the same size
November Ajax's stun tasers are to low voltage to take down a fully sized jaeger, November's tasers only work on small scrap metal constructed rogue jaegers.
@@Eradicator-jv9xr Obsidian was never meant to take gipsy's place because the PPDC never even knew it was being constructed. Obsidian was meant as a test for the new kaiju jaeger hybrids that newton was creating.
It's unfortunate. If the plot was tweaked a little here and there, the acting was improved a tad, and they made the jeagers more heavy and mechanical like in the first film, this could've been a great sequel! The plot on it's own isn't bad, especial the involvement of a rouge jeager such as Obsidian Fury

it's funny that right after this fight was over, they were asking the pilots (they thought it had) to be inside to come out and surrender, they had just crossed the jaeger's head with a sword and hoped that there would be a live pilot to go out? Lol

It's weird how after they kinda forced the movie out they cancelled all future plans. Del Toro wasn't available, Hunnam wasn't available due to filming other projects. So why would they go ahead, do a new script and everything? They probably knew it wouldn't be recieved well but they still made it. They couldn't of waited for both Toro and Hunnam to be available?

This movie is still enjoyable despite all it's flaws but it could have been even better than the original if it was a prequel about the first kaiju invasions before the jaegers and then the first jaeger V kaiju fights

Personally I think that was one of the worst parts. Independence Day 2 just did it maybe like a year before. And in both cases it makes zero sense.
How are they going to do it?
What makes them think they have any chance of winning on their home turf?
Jaegers take months-years to make. That was literally why they were building the walls in 1. They literally lost all of their jaegers in 2. How are they planning to attack them?
