I had to replace an engine on my Snapper and your video was very helpful, thank you for taking the time to make it. I took notes as I watched your video and just followed your instructions step by step. Some things I had to deal with: 1) The bolt holes that hold the engine were barely threaded to the point I could not even hand tighten the bolts. The bolts cut their own threads as I drove them in. It would have been a real pain without an impact wrench. 2) The new engine did not have an engine brake. It had a wire with a bullet socket which I found killed the engine when I grounded it, so I had to install a kill switch on the mower handle. The name plate on both engines was the same. I have a question. The old mower was only 3 or 4 years old and lightly used, yet it seemed to have a blown motor with lots of smoke and oil coming out of the muffler. So I ordered a new motor. Upon investigation the cylinder walls looked fine but the gas in the tank had found its way into the oil. So I drained the oil and replaced it. After cranking the engine the smoke cleared and the engine ran fine. I shut it down and a week later the gasoline had drained into the oil pan again. Any ideas how that could happen? It had to go thru that plastic carburetor that Briggs now uses, since that is the only path for the gas. Thanks again for the video.
I enjoyed your video, Do you have video on how to replace the deck? My Snapper self propelled lawnmower the deck has some rusted holes and would love to replace the deck since the motor works great, I don’t want to get a new lawnmower when the one I have still working fine. The lawnmower I have is exactly like the one you just replaced the motor on.
Mark, enjoyed the engine transfer video. Question, I have a brand new Honda GCV 160. Will it fit on a Snapper Ninja in place of current B&S engine model 1210 02 0027 F1?
