You are a breath of fresh air. I like your positivity. No moaning or finding fault with everything. Looks like a great journey. Keep up the good wórk...👍
Great video G! LNER is one of my favourite operators to travel with - a few years back, I was travelling home to London and I got upgraded to first class because I was only 13. I had a great time and when the staff realised I was a train enthusiast, they let me into the cab!
Fantastic vlog! So happy you got to ride the Pride Azuma which I took on my first train ride to Scotland earlier this year! LNER tend to be a really good train operator! Nice to have a little change from Avanti West Coast though! Didnt know about the timetable change, thanks for sharing!
Lovely trip G always love to see the fantastic concourse of Glasgow cent and the great views along the Northumberland coast and breaky to go with it just the best u could get, thanks for sharing this brilliant blog 👍🤗
I used to see all the old GNER trains in Glasgow all the time when I was young G and it’s a great pity that LNER are permanently withdrawing their one remaining service from Glasgow! Also nice of you to be in my neck of the woods again 😜
I used to always use GNER back when I lived in Scotland. The biggest problem with Virgin was that it arrived into Euston 🤮, except for the once a day service they used to run to Paddington. I would take that one if I was going to somewhere like Oxford.
@@Weegiegreek Intercity East Coast ran Kings Cross to Glasgow services for as long as I can remember. The first one I rode, shortly after the launch of the Intercity 125, departed from Queen Street. They later moved to Central.
This was an especially nice -train ride-!!!!! - super views, super staff, super food, super price! Thanks for doing this one - really enjoyed it!!!!! ❤ You do really nice cover images!!! you have DR down pat! ❤🔥 Yeah - no book needed!
Wow That was brilliant , but you make it that way, Loved your choice of your meal, I loved traveling back n forth on the Pen, in 2014-18, but never did it First Class, would love to travel from London to Glasgow, on the LNER line, First Class. Thanks for that Brilliant Vlog G , and hope you had good trip back home. take care
Brilliant video G, you're so lucky to get a good long ride on the LNER Pride Azuma. Good to see the journey went well this time and it was so awesome that a member of the onboard traincrew recorded that message. :)
I.used to live in holme village just 5 mins down the line from Peterborough, I had level crossing quiet close to end of garden and sat in garden watching trains go by, used to get stuck at level crossing for 20+ minutes due to the amount of trains, loved it x
Using Easyjet to fly from my home town of Southampton to Glasgow at end of month and after watching your vid I decided to get that LNER service back to London as it suits my timetable. I use LNER whenever I am heading to Edinburgh but didn't realise they had a service from Glasgow so want to try it before they cease operating from Glasgow in December. Love your vids and you seemed so happy to be aboard the LNER Pride Azuma.... perhaps I might get lucky too....😁😁
There is also a few services which are being withdrawn by LNER, Stirling to London Kings Cross which is a one train per day as well and I think Sunderland to London Kings Cross is going as well which is one train per day as well and agree that it was a bonus to ride the pride Azuma. Great video G!
Surprised to hear that the Stirling service has been taken away. 😢 Not so surprised about Sunderland route though as Grand Central have been doing a grand service on that journey for years now so always ging to be difficult to make that pay. :(
Great vlog G. Nice ride on LNER first class from Glasgow to London. I travelled on a short journey with LNER back in August but only in standard class.
Another great video. Love your passion for train travel. Things have changed since my travels around the UK in 1983. Happy future travels, from down under in Western Australia
I love LNER first class but usually I'm on a train with the Deli menu but when I went to London in May I set a day aside for a trip to York and made sure to book trains which had the Dine menu and I concur about the onboard crew, their wonderful
Excellent video G! Your soo lucky you got 801 226 (Pride Train) on that limited service. The East Coast Main Line is always my favorite main line in the country due to the amazing views and even all the stations along the line, keep up the fantastic content 👏😊
Epic trip - it looked smooth & fast. I'd have never though of looking at first class, but as you say it's worth it, here. I rarely read on trains either, for the same reason. It makes sense to cancel the Glasgow part.
Great Video G! Our Glasgow crew are an amazing bunch, always happy when at work especially the colleague who was in the film. I’m going to miss working our Glasgow service when it finishes at the end of the year and just becomes an Edinburgh starter/finisher.
Fantastic vlog as always G and hope that you were not to tired from the early start and no doubt you will have to look out for the knicker monster soon
awesome stuff how amazing is that you get to ride on the LNER Pride train & it dose look amazing & ive still yet to get a shot of that train but i think that train is avoiding me everytime i go onto the ECML & i def agree the views on the ECML is amazing as ive done a full journey from London to Edinburgh back in May along the ECML but on LUMO but even tho its a long journey but its worth it for the amazing views & thats why i love doing long train journeys & id love to travel with LNER more in the future as i dont get to travel with them much but i get to spot their trains in London anyway brilliant vlog as always
LNER staff are great! Very professional but also very friendly and fun! I've only traveled 1st class on All Line Rovers but out of all the companies, LNER is probably one of the few I'd pay the extra to travel in 1st class on a regular ticket. Decent variety of food and drink and the good staff make it a great option. LNER are very consistent in their service which seems rarer these days.
Great video and excellent timing thanks! We will be doing London to Edinburgh when we visit the UK next year and I am currently researching LNER. It looks like it is worth doing just forr the great scenery alone.
Hi G! I love your content. I was just wondering if you have ever ridden the GWR from Paddington to Exeter St David's? I am an avid traveller but I am dreading it as I don't usually travel for longer than 30 minutes on my own! Thanks!
That was an early start! It was great to see the Pride livery Azuma too - I actually attended my first Pride up here this year, volunteering at it for my employer, and I loved it. (It took me a while to be open about who I am and wish I had been when I was younger...🌈) Those views as you crossed the Border were stunning!
@@GLovesTrains Thank you! I know I have been lucky in having nothing but acceptance from family and friends. My heart goes out to those who do not have that.
4:10 Have you considered riding the Chieftain when you have enough LNER perks credit for a regular ticket and then bidding for an upgrade via Seatfrog? I'm not saying it will definitely work but it's worth considering .
@@GLovesTrains Yes . I'm not sure how long ago the Glasgow to London journey was but if it was within the last 7 days you can still upload it to LNER perks .

Absolutely brilliant. 👍 The main thing I like about these services is that they avoid a potentially messy change at Edinburgh. You got the same unit as I did. It makes me wonder if you did it the day after me?
