  • We're still getting the hang of making videos, so I'm sure I missed some things in this video. Please leave some feedback, questions, and comments!
    I've been surfing the cement for years now and every time I shred a new skatepark people love to watch! And they always tell me "I've never seen someone ride a longboard like that before! "
    I enjoy doing something that no one else does, but I know that I will influence many others to ride a longboard in a skatepark, so I figured I might as well be the one who teaches everyone. So please tag us in your social media if you take your longboard to the skatepark and use these tips!!
    What's the best longboard for a skatepark?!?! Right here on The Lost Longboarder blog is an article all about the ideal set up for riding a longboard in a skatepark :

    And here is a link to Lost Coast Longboarding where you can pick up one of our one of a kind hand painted longboards:

    Learned more here than from many videos on longboarding. Being an older rider the skatepark seems a better place.

      Thanks for the comment, we’re glad you enjoyed the video! Longboards can be great around town for commuting and cruising, but a good skatepark can feel like surfing the cement

    you have a decent video here. It could use some more staging and a script, but the information is good. Do you plan to make a future video featuring ramps, riding off a ledge, etc? This is great starter material but there is a lot more you should show if your style of board doesnt limit that. Either way I'm stoked for the next one.

    Congratulations for your nice technique. Can you please tell what kind of wheels do you prefer for longboarding in a bowl ? Which give you the best speed without being slidey ?

    • @lostcoastlongboarding
      @lostcoastlongboarding  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have soft wheels on my longboard for cruising in the vert. Soft wheels make the ride super smooth, but they can definitely be slidey if the surface is dusty. Harder wheels can less slidey on a smooth surface

      @@lostcoastlongboarding Thanks. I just discover longboard in park with a paddle and it's good. As i'm a also big fan of surfskating, i test on the longboard the wheels i use on surfskate. So after 4President 80a, too big, i found more agility and shorter turning radius with Seismic Defcon 66mm/79a. I wait for Carver park wheels 58mm/90a i'll test on longboard only in park. I'll share my feedback.

    • @lostcoastlongboarding
      @lostcoastlongboarding  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MrConfo yes, a sharp turning radius is important so having smaller wheels can definitely prevent wheel bite. I ride with really loose trucks so having a freestyle shaped board helps prevent wheel bite too

    • @MrConfo
      @MrConfo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lostcoastlongboarding I've just made one session in park on Kahuna 48 with Carver park wheels 58mm/90a and it gives a bit more speed and acceleration versus Seismic 66mm Defcon Plum, it works great and i ride also with very loose truck. I would not use this wheel out of a skatepark. I was wondering if the feeling would not be too hard or unconfortable, but on very smooth surface, it's pleasent to ride and increase a bit vivacity and agility, good specific wheels. I've also tested them on my surfskate in the same park and it works well, i've just made one involuntary slide but it was controllable.

    I feel like longboarding limits what you can do at a skatepark a lot. Most skateparks don't accommodate your average longboard. Only certain longboard decks allow you to do the basic tricks you need to fully skate the transition like kickturns, drop ins.. I started out longboarding and after a few times trying to ride up transitions I swapped to skateboarding quick.

    • @lostcoastlongboarding
      @lostcoastlongboarding  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      True that, it’s a totally different style of riding and it’s a different skatepark experience. Some skateparks are really great for longboarding but some skateparks only have street obstacles which are not so good for longboarding 🤙😎

      @@lostcoastlongboarding You've got great flow on the bowl, if you got comfortable dropping in you could do grinds on the coping really easy I bet. Something to keep in mind I guess. Either way looks like fun, keep shredding!

    • @lostcoastlongboarding
      @lostcoastlongboarding  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Absolutely! I like how responsive and flexible the bamboo/fiberglass boards are but you can pump with any board. you can even use the same technique with bikes and scooters

  • @NicholasABerk
    @NicholasABerk ปีที่แล้ว +2

    What if you increased the height of the trucks with risers?

    • @lostcoastlongboarding
      @lostcoastlongboarding  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! That’s a great idea, it would increase your clearance and you could loosen the trucks more and still avoid wheel bite

    • @hareinthewoods3923
      @hareinthewoods3923 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It works, I have a ridiculous setup with some very big MBS all terrain wheels (I often ride on uneven roads) and multiple risers which increase the height by 2,5cm (I was afraid of wheelbite 😉).
      Tbh I thought I would be laughed at because of this setup but it hasn't happened yet.
      Anyway, I sometimes visit a local skatepark (which is very small and not that interesting, it's basically just a few ramps) and I never had any problems with my board touching any of the ramps!
