Thank you! A long time ago we were on a hike in Southern California and we found an abandoned building covered in graffiti, there was one small piece that was very inspirational, it said “A little house, a lot of love, and a big back yard ❤️” We have remembered it ever since 😊

I think the skatepark is called Nella Skatepark but the big sign says Inglewood pumptrack (0:20 sec) so we just went with that

@@lostcoastlongboarding All skate parks seem to have a pretty positive vibe in my experience. But this place takes the cake. It is such an uplifting and positive atmosphere filled with young and old alike. All kinds of vehicles, all kinds of ages, this place is the best……… not great for learning tricks. Just a great place to get some exercise in the sun and meet nice people.

thank you! We’ll keep it going!! 🙌 I use the 180s, but the dervish is a drop through. Being that low might cause you to scrape a lot at the pump track a lot more. My advice for that is to just go faster! Lol

Hey there, Thanks for watching! thanks for the comment and questions =) Those aren't necessarily problems they are just things you have not experienced yet. The only way to know if you can do it is to try! It is smart to wear a helmet and some safety equipment until your comfortable, you will probably fall at some point, that's just part of the learning experience. Don't expect to jump into the skatepark and be able to hit every obstacle or transition on your first day. Visiting different skateparks can expose you to different types of features and with time you will start to understand what types of features your longboard can handle. As for the trucks, I like them loose, but you should make sure you don't get wheel bite before you carve hard in the skatepark. Take turns as wide as possible. And most importantly, make sure you're having fun! Feel free to ask more questions if you have any! What skateparks are close to you?

I am also a 52 old guy who only started a year ago 🙂Today I went for the first time to a beautiful skatepark in Henley-on-Thames (there are a couple of videos on youtube), but I had some turns I couldn't do no matter what. I've got a dropthrough longboard similar to yours so no wheel bite issues, and a MajorArc front truck for extreme carving (they are peculiar). I'm experimenting a bit with this and that, but of course I'm a beginner in terms of technique. If you have any advice or drill I should follow to learn how to carve bowls, feel free...

@@halfluke I gotcha! 👌 We have yet to visit the UK, so I don’t have any experience with skateparks there.. yet! Lol so I’ll have to look them up. Also I havnt heard of those trucks, so I’ll be looking into that too! I would say that you want to take most of the turns as wide as possible. Usually, getting higher on the walls will make the turns a wider angle, but that also requires speed. We have one other “how to longboard in a skatepark” video that has a few more tips then this video. One of my favorite beginner drills is learning how to pump in a half pipe. This will help you become more comfortable riding both directions and you’ll start to understand how to pump better =) good luck on your journey! We hope to hear from you again! 🤙

And your saying that the Engineers and designers of this track made it so that every single person would do the same exact lap every single time!?!? 😂 why would they put transitions to switch directions if your not supposed to? Just be smart and aware of the other riders, be positive, support, and keep an open mind to what other enjoy doing. Have fun and be safe out there! 🤙

@@lostcoastlongboarding NO The sign and the track tell you which way to travel. Hopping around is a discourtesy to all the other riders. Maybe next time read the sign first!

@@surferwho well the sign also says helmets are required and no drugs or alcohol. I was there for hours, got along with everyone there, and NOBODY had a helmet on most people were smoking.. so that being said.. I would love to see you here in person being the helmet police and telling everyone they’re breaking rules 😂 Thanks for the view! 👍
