that's weird. ageism is rampant in mostly coastal states. but i live in OKC and alot of the younger gay dudes are all about the older gays. so, i tend to date all age spectrums (legal that is... cuz im too pretty for prison)

@@andrewgoesplaces I never said it will Andrew. Please reread what I wrote. However, prep users and pornstars who are spokepersons for prep do engage in that behaviour. Myvidster, twitter and previously tumblr, onlyfans, justforfans are littered with guys who say they are on prep barebacking. I know it doesn't which is why I made my comment. A lot of guy do engage in unprotected sex with Prep being a reason for them to let loose, with he fear of hiv being diminished because of it.

    • @mrkkg27
      @mrkkg27 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

@@devinngeorge Blame? I guess I missed that march, or I didn't see the ad that encourages people to get on Prep and get off condoms. Currently we live at a time when there is no cure, or vaccination preventing hiv. One day soon, hopefully that will change but until that day why would you not encourage the use of all available tools to prevent infection? The blame/shame game is pointless and only serves to obscure the finish line -the day when there is both a cure and a vaccination.

Great advice all around. Thanks for you comments about older gay men who were leaders in the gay rights movement. I'm 72 and came out in high school. That was unusual at the time. I grew up in NJ and was not at Stonewall in '69 but I was in the very first gay liberation day parade in NYC in 1970 and more since then (now called Pride). I was involved in the gay rights movement for many years. Now you can get married and I worked on that as well. So thanks again for remembering us older folks who got fed up with the mean folks that tried to make us feel bad about ourselves. God made us and we are just a good as any straight person. There is still a lot of work to be done and hate is popping up again thanks in part to Mr. Trump. Yes, I did and still go shirtless, wear tank tops, wear jockstraps and tight jeans (which you didn't mention but really show off a male body). Love your youtube videos. Keep up the good work.

This is why I follow you...and you’re mancandy 😁😘🤗

Thanks Andrew. I’ve been following your videos for some time but this one is exceptional. I hope lots of your other viewers take these excellent suggestions to heart...The contemporary gay community (and yeah, I’m 70 and was one of many in the trenches during the dark 60s and 70s and am sad to see many toxic trends in the community nowadays, almost as though it has unwittingly adopted the very judgmental and shaming attitudes we fought to free ourselves from the then straight community) needs to think about what it’s doing to itself. There’s nothing more we can do, but gay men of your generation can make a difference...

I add saving for retirement.. things are expensive and will continue to be. We all want to maintain our life-style when retired. This will only occurr if we diligently save/invest. Hi Andrew.
    I really appreciate
    it your point of view
    about how the new
    generations of gays
    most be thanks full
    for the huge sacrifices
    we made it, our
    " heritage " to the
    new generations.
    I considered
    myself one of the
    " old generations ".
    I'm NEVER imagined
    that we was going
    to make it this far.
    Back in the 70s, 80s
    and '90s,.....jajajajaja,
OK I tell you my age...
    ..I'm only 51 years
    young, by the way the
    age is just a number.
    It was really hard
    from those decades
    to any one to
    " came out ".
    We was massacred
by family, neighbors, schools, church even
    from some people
    who call themselves
    " friends ".
    We only knows our
    real friends and family
    when we need some
    help and courage to
    face and manage
    our challenge, like
    our sexuality, and also
    when they need help
    too. Guys between
    you and me, no one
    gives better advice
    than us.
    I born in one of
    the most hostile
    environment you
    can imagine.
    Poor, Black, Bullied,
    like almost every
    gay at that time,
    not only in Puerto
    Rico but as well
    around the world,
    those was really
    hard times.
    I fight my " battle "
    all by myself !!!.
    My Mom was my
    biggest concern,
    and I know that
    she knows about
    my sexual
    preferences.
    I was a rebel, but
    with cause, " fight
    against hate,
    intolerance, bulling "
    ...and much, much
    more.
    But I ended with all
    rumors about me
    at the age of 13.
    My Mom was born
and raised in a " old
    fashion styles " but,
    SURPRISE !!. When
    I open my heart to
    my her and with
    some help from
    heaven, everything
    was soo great !!
    I didn't have even an
    idea that her reaction
    it was gonna be so
    positive and charming.
    I won't NEVER
    forget that moment !!!
She said to me " David, you are my son, no
matter what or who, nobody is going to
    change that, I will
    always support
you and love you " .
    Can you guys imagine
    that ? 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Well I resumed that moment because
    we also talk about
    many others things
    for a wild, you know
    " girls things " jajaja.
    I get her blessings,
    also the strength
    and support that
    any gay at the age
    of 13 needs.
    To me was like start
    a new life, MY REAL
    LIFE !!
    I became the real
    me, the real David.
NO one was more important to me
    than my Mom.
    Getting the best
    way to start my
    real life, that was awesome.
Many gays that I knew back then, don't get
    the support that my
    Mom gives me.
    I was so RELIEVED.
    37 years has passed
    since I " came out "
    to the person who
    really understand
    me, respect me and
    never judge me.
    My wonderful Mom....
    Thanks Mom, I
    missing you A
    LOT, you know it.
    If any of you had
    problems
or are not " ready "
    to come out...,
    repeat this to yourself ,
    I want to be happy,
    I need to be happy,
    I deserve to be happy,
    I gonna be happy !!! ".
    You have the right to
    be as happy you want.
That's your prerogative and one else have the
    right to decide for you.
Is not justifiable when people think that they
can do to you as their please.
    Don't allow others
    decided for you....
    is your desition not
    they desition, you
    are owner of your
    feelings of yours
    desired, of your
    dreams.
    Only you !!!
    At the end of all
    that commotion is
YOU WHO REALLY COUNTS. BE HAPPY, without hurting others.
    Let's give a example
    to those who thought
    that you will never
    gonna make the
    " change ".
    To those whom will
    never understand that
    there's NO difference
    between them and us.
Remember you DESERVE TO BE HAPPY.....
    Take the desition
    when you thinks is
    the right moment,
    and be prepared for
anything , don't give attention to the Haters
    or the homophobic
    people, is your desition,
    make it COUNTS.
    You got my support,
    hey...probably is your
    time.
    I wishing to you guys
    the best in the world.
    Thank you for the time
    and my apologies for
    the bad english.
    🇺🇸 🇵🇷 🏳️‍🌈
    Have a great Monday.

I’m a high school student and still closeted to most of the world. I’ve had social anxiety, OCD, Depression and ADHD since I was a kid and so I’ve been seeing a therapist for years, but that’s not the point. My therapist and my mom are the only two people in the world who know I’m gay. I’m currently 16 but I realized this when I was 10. However, I was going to a private catholic elementary/middle school so with all the homophobia around me I figured it was best to stay quiet. Eventually high school came around and I told my parents I wanted to go to the public school, they were surprised since I’d been in private schools my whole life but I did have outside friends and I hated people thinking I was a rich snob for going to a school that I didn’t really like anyways. So last year I enrolled in my small town’s public school and it was a shit show but it was definitely worth it. About two weeks ago I came out to my mom and I agree that there is nothing like it in the world. But I do have one question: I sat on not wanting to come out for 6 years before even attempting, and when I did I was glad but I still have a whole family and tons of friends who are unaware of my reality. My question is since I have an anxiety disorder, the time is never going to right or perfect and I’m never going to be able to say it without having an anxiety attack. That’s just my reality and I can’t change it, but how do I know when it is time to come out and avoid putting it off forever?
Shit that was long, sorry lol

I wish more people were willing to get involved and to get to know people in the gay community and realize that they are just like your neighbor. I’ve seen other gay youtubers who preach about body shaming, femme shaming, ageism etc but come off sounding judgemental as they’re saying it! You seem very sincere. Love that your generation has such an atmosphere of acceptance. For self as well as others. We older folks didn’t have the same peer/family general acceptance and it is so great seeing you younger guys so comfortable in your own skin as gay men. Keep up the great videos 😊

Just be the best person you can be and represent with dignity.
Just as those who are "in-your-face" about religion are going overboard, if we are to be accepted, it is essential that we not express ourselves in an extreme manner. Yes, live your life to the fullest and assert your right to do everything that other couples do in public, but don't go overboard. If you see people preaching religion on the street corner, don't go up in front of them and give your partner a big kiss. Just live your life, don't cause strife. That kind of behavior does not reflect well on you nor the gay cause. Don't accuse people of discrimination based on sexuality just because you didn't get chosen for something. There may be other reasons. Don't get triggered by words. If someone is ignorant enough to use a slur toward you, just ignore them or express hope that someday they will learn to accept others as they are.

Stop using made up shit that no one else believes in . There is no such a thing as " privilege" of any kind. If u work hard. You can achieve everything you desire. If u dont work hard and want to blame everyone else for your failures then by all means use the fake privilege arguments

    • @harryadams9373
      @harryadams9373 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Peter the Great There very much is privilege in our own community. As a white gay man i am much better off than a black trans women. And by acknowledging that and opening up a discussion about it we can help end stigmas to push equality further.

Oh god, I know the gay community (and by extension Andrew) is mostly liberal, but this sjw bs is ridiculous.Discrimination is largely POC gays complaining that white gay men don't want to date them. They are not entitled to a date or sex. Leave that intersectional feminism crap for lesbians who will be more receptive to it. Feminism has done more than enough damage to wider society as well as gay men.

Young gay men have a pathological hatred of older gays. Older guys put the young in touch with dreaded fears of being old, unattractive and unwanted.

Thanks for appreciating older generations for fighting the good fight for gay rights and health in the past. Everyone stands on the shoulders of giants. Look up Larry Kramer and let that lead you into gay history. It’s fascinating and moving. I turned 24 in 1981 at the outbreak of AIDS. A horrific time but there were so many heroes. We didn’t do it for any future thanks but for our own lives. Breaking down walls helps those who follow. Be proud of the sacrifices and knock some more walls down for those who follow you.

Does PrEP show up in the EHR at every MD you see like regular Rx? Since Truvada is an HIV medication, not just for PrEP, is it covered by the extra privacy rules?
Most of my doctors see all of my Rx (which can cause problems, especially when it's a one time Rx) via allscripts
I've heard of some people getting treated poorly, especially in the ER, for taking PrEP. There are a lot of assumptions that people make.

How to be a good gay?
    1. Be yourself.
    2. Be human. Being gay doesnt have any difference being a person. Either it's gay, trans, lesbian, white, black, with disabilities, asian, african, and so on and so fort, we all wanted to be respected and treated fairly. So, to me, TO BE A GOOD GAY, is TO BE A GOOD PERSON, and i thank you!

I love this video. AGAIN another amazing video. It's great that you hit on so many points about how to be a good gay. But politics are extremely toxic. I've had quite a few gay friends who stopped talking to me because of my political views. I make it a point not to engage in politics with other gay people. I also think that a large portion of the gay community is judgmental, at least where I am. I have more straight friends then gay friends because they accept me for me being me.
