Don't think you the only one or some of people arround you who think for better world..there too many people in the world who are genius who think for humanity
It's a great informative video and the message is clear and strong. But as somebody who works in the film/video field, it's hard not to notice that Susan's face is way too yellow/warm and the camera on Matt goes in and out of focus. One would think that, as big as an organization like National Geographic gets, they would put more time and effort to making a video like this before they approve it and put it out. I know this video is not about technical things but just sharing what I noticed.
What a lot of people fail to realize, is that water.org drills the well and sets up the plumbing instead of locals needing to scavange for water or use waste water.
I'm half Indian myself and i must admit that if people from my fathers country didnt fuck so mutch and have 6 children per family minimum global food and water shortages wouldnt be that big of a problem . On the other hand the average EU and American household still consumes over 12x as mutch energy and water a day then the average Chinese and Indian household with more people per family . This is all a global issue and we must work together and solve it together , Earth doesnt belong to one country or contintent it belongs to us all .
What a sad bunch of comments I'm reading here. It doesn't matter whose 'fault' it is, what color they are, or who they pray to. If someone needed my washroom, or a hot shower, or a cold drink I'd give it to them. I bet our differences could be put aside for the moment. Come on, people. Enough is enough.
I used to defecate in our corn/sugarcane fields while chewing on sweet-corn/sugar-cane nearly 15 years ago. I loved it, I was scared of snakes(cobra) and wildcats while doing it. Yes, we didn't had toilets at our home back then. Open defecation as a community is gross, no disagreement there. I'm also concerned about methane gas problem from sewers that needs to be addressed in an efficient way. Indian.
Why! these people barely even have the chance to get sanitized properly, and every 90 seconds a child under five dies!? I wish I could do more to help them but NO!
Not to be cruel.......... but, aren't things like water sources, and food availability natural limits to control and maintain a population in a balance?
Robert Merrill Can sure, should no. We are becoming victims of our own success. There are just too many people period. Continuing to work out was for more of us to be here is being like we are running short on people is dumb.
Scientists estimate that this planet could sustainably house around about 12 billion people. The least we could do is help the communities in poverty-stricken places like Africa and parts of India move to somewhere in which they can thrive and educate them. I do agree that we shouldn't urbanise the whole globe, huge swaths of land should be left to nature, like the plains of Africa, the poles, the rainforests and Siberia. Genocide, as some people have suggested, is not an option. Ignoring the problem is also not an option. Helping the people there to survive and educating them about how better to live their lives is a start, but I think we should strive to move humans out of these regions of poverty forever and cordon the regions off as national parks or similar.
Michael Carolina good solution for the future, but for now? I guess fuck all those millions of people struggling just to live day after day, what do we care, we were born lucky huh?
Watch the video "Overpopulation - The Human Explosion Explained" by "In a Nutshell" and go and visit a school. Jesus, you are living in an advanced country but you are still dump as piece of dirt.
Meanwhile tree hugger Matt is jet-setting all around the world to promote, act and produce his movies...his carbon footprint is equal to about a thousand people! ...And always remember to "Do as I say...and not as I do". Keep up the fight Matty.
Thanks Matt for whatever you doin' !
Nice to know one of my favorite actors is also a co-founder of one of my favorite charities. Good on you, Mr. Damon, good on you.
In some cases, children have access to water, but it is monopolized and/or made difficult to afford, much like health care here in the U.S.
Yep, monopolized by mega concerns like Nestle... buying ground water resources and cutting of the access to the local population.
Ned Thumberland same with food.. we have enough to feed every human on earth but our evil money system is blocking access to life for some people..
+XxScArEcRoWxX1 more like Monsanto

Anyone else here from Tabs for a Cause?
It is only a matter of a few decades before karma hugs us all. We don't deserve this planet.

If we only lived on a planet that was mostly covered with water...
I know it's hard for the people from National Geographic and Harvard to understand, can't afford it.

Ok

Hawk 1911 yeah...but humans can work around these things so more people can live and not die for thirst or hunger or animals

الفقر والمجاعة لييست فقط في الهند توجد في جميع العالم
Finding solutions. As many other posters have pointed out. Stop having children.
Michael Carolina good solution for the future, but for now? I guess fuck all those millions of people struggling just to live day after day, what do we care, we were born lucky huh?
This planet is a mess
I agree. We need to use the tax payers money to send the SJWs into the sun.
Oswald Cobblepot without sjws you couldn't wear that face paint of yours... haha
Equivoking Faillure.
Error 01100110.
Tía Colasa.
we are doomed!
Maybe if people in these countries stopped having so many children this wouldn't be as big of a problem.
chunkybutfunky it's partly true.
Browns Fan very shallow reasoning.
+chunkybutfunky Blame the white man for your problems! I'm sure that will work.
The US has a lot of children as well. It isn't just that. It is concentration and centralization of their populations, as well as poor infrastructure.
