Thank you for explaining I detail the body positioning of the spin. Ive always struggled with back 3’s. Often times not rotating enough or throwing my rotation off axis.
About the Cover Photo Just to make things clear, that cover photo of me was taken last season not this season. i don't want to mislead anyone into thinking that photo was taken this season. It was last season. Sorry if that made you think it was this season that that photo was taken of me. it was taken last season.
Thanks Taevis for another detailed tutorial. I remember from your previous videos you've mentioned how backside spins have always felt the easiest and most natural to you, I can relate to that. I feel good on backside spins and can keep that level line in my shoulders. I think its because jumping off the balls of my feet with a snowboard feels just as natural as jumping on flat ground without one. I'm struggling on the frontside spins. the same jumps i can easily backside spin im much less confident doing frontside. even side hits, i'm always taking off on a weird axis, not getting as good of a pop off my heels. I liked your tip about frontside 3 spotting, picking a point, looking at it and thinking about rotating about that point. But I drop my lead shoulder and head to look, and come off the lip wrong. At this point I feel like I could frontside spin off my toes better than on my heels. Could you give me any tips or even make a frontside version of this video and how you got comfortable taking off on your heel edge? i'd love to hear your thought process for it
I will definitely make a frontside version! Frontside is technically easier, but there are a couple mistakes you need to avoid to make them work. Won’t be able to cover it all in 1 video, but I got some good stuff to share:)
The concepts you're talking about in relation to descending into a squat without hinging or leaning forward are very important in the sport of weightlifting. There the cue is typically to "break at the knees and hips together", as opposed to primarily breaking at the hips which causes you to lean forward. Here's a great video to illustrate this: th-cam.com/video/lk9hd9AhURY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=emdqyqljwDjjqM15

It’s a hard trick! It’s literally the base for all backside spins so there is a lot to learn for it. Stoked this video helped😁

Where is the video from for the summer jumps at the beginning
Japan!
05:34 wow
She’s my #1 supporter haha
Outerwear companies hate this one trick.
hahahaha
Would I apply these same concepts to frontside spins?
In some ways but there is differences.
I’ll be making a video for frontside as well!
