Alex looks like a real life final fantasy protagonist
Bro would make the best Cloud cosplayer on earth. and with his strength i bet he could weild the real Buster Swoord too!

amazing skills dude!!
That shit was crazy difficult, mad respect
Wow, great work there! How many were day?
hell yeah you crush that shit dawg on 55 crips
Nice! The real hero of the video ;)
Alex Megos looks like he was granted two wishes, to be a talented climber and to be a real boy.
This cuts to his core 😂
😂😂😂 you had me rolling :)
TH-cam Comment of the Year. 🏆
I love this comment.
LMFAO
The little anecdotes from back your youngers days climbing made the video feel wholesome !

"I think we should go to Finland" -"We don't need to anymore, we have already done it"
Missed your chance there Magnus :')
Reminds me of the time a girl who was in to me suggested to check out her aquarium at her place and I answered "Oh but I have already seen it at the housewarming"
Still haunts me to this day
He was being sarcastic though, they would not go to Finland.
@@fishwoman7825 they would
Maybe they will
😂
Why are you making gay fanfic from a casual convo
Watched Alex climb in Innsbruck - he arrived to the venue on a bikeshare bike. What a legend. Never change Alex!
I like how there's a guy doing the most insane juggling and magnus just used it as B-roll 😂
I believe he is a professional juggler. I met him at a convention, he's super nice and he gave me a slice of his pizza 🤌
I like how he fit it in to end with the music.
Thank you! I am that juggler 😂
Let’s go max I’m a fellow juggler
@@MaxKuschmierz No way aha, you have insane skills bro
Yay, another Olympian to cheer for. This guy is so confident and yet humble too. Go Alex!
He looks like a 16 year old boy and laughs like a 50 year old man. What a fun duality 😄
Thanks for the video, Magnus! ❤
Laughs like Elon lol
@@GiantRock haha, thought the same, Elon jr.
I've never seen a 16 year old as jacked as that guy lol
except he turns 31 in a month. Crazy.
@@cedricrust9953 He's 30??? He looks 19 max, and his voice still cracks
17:14 When Alex Megos goes "huiuiui", you know it's hard :D
Yeah that's terrifying, haha.
alex is so fricken strong its crazy
especially hes confidence and laugh is so good
magnus is my favourite ex pro climber
Love the vibes between Magnos, a couple of old competitors just having a blast
You know Alex is absurdly strong at the finger board when you see Magnus struggle 😅
He's got those Frankenjura fingers, he basically grew up on pockets 💪
maybe among top 10 strong in the world
I think it helps that he has very thin legs. A normally built person has already 40 pounds more than him just in the legs.
Yeah this guy skips leg day hard and makes it a bit less impressive.
I have personally had the pleasure of watching Wolfgang Güllich in 1982, making a flash try on an unclimbed French project in Le Saussois: About 5m flat roof on nothing but one and two-finger pockets, where he would be doing levitation moves all the way past the lip and onto the headwall. The headwall was were he finally fell because he failed to find a crucial pocket.
Great chemistry between the two of you, love seeing you collab with all these great climbers.
They are alike. Trying to be nice toward each other it seems.
If anyone is wondering, the man portrayed in the black and white picture with the funny quote (at 2:56) is Sophus Lie: a genius Norwegian mathematician who made major contributions to group theory, differential geometry, and linear algebra!
My PhD was largely in Lie group theory
@@ontheballcity71 I hope you are not making that up.
@@DrewWithington it is quite a large field tbh
@@linkinlinkinlinkin654 My comment was meant to be a joke, reacting to 'Lie group' by asking if @ontheballcity71 was telling the truth. Maybe it wasn't a very good joke......
26:14 Magnus' face be like: "This guy is a psychopath, i must get out right now or my finger tendons are done for" 😵
It's so crazy that you visited Erlangen and the Steinbock. I literally live 3 mins away and I go to this gym 1-2 times per week. So surreal to know that you actually were there alongside Alex. Great video!
wow wasn't expecting this random colab to drop!! made my day
Actually wasn’t random in another video in his new bouldering gym he said he was planning a video with Alex
@@ricotrejo4125 That was in a video on his More Magnus channel though & most people don't seem to have found that channel yet
I love the interviews with the top level climbers, especially on the wall. I think their passion comes out, and it is exciting!
Love the questions Magnus asks, always builds good rapportn and gets the climbers relaxed
Alex Megos has one of the most interesting physique's I've ever seen for someone in his sport. I watch a lot of different sports, train a lot myself and generally have good knowledge on how the body works, what different physiques different athletes will produce from different types of training.
His body is genuinely so unique, his muscle clearly responds extremely well to anything that causes them hypertrophy He has by far one of the largest chests I've ever seen on a climber, so much that it barely makes sense. Climbers spend all their time pulling in, retracting shoulder blades, they never do pushing movements that would significantly recruit the pecs to cause this amount of growth. But on the other hand, for some reason his bicep and tricep do not get this natural growth to nearly the same extent as the rest of his body, take note of Magnus (especially true if you look at pictures where he's closer to his prime athletic strength), his arms, despite not doing specific training with them are much more proportional. But then Megos' forearms are gigantic maximus and his overall frame is quite wide, you'd imagine his arms would naturally match this, especially since his ape index is +0 (neutral). To clarify, not calling them small, it's more of a testament to how enormous his torso is in terms of just pure muscle (and wide bone structure/frame).
To build this amount of muscle he has, with such exceptionally low fat %, all whilst barely even focusing on hypetrophy-type training is just insane. Sure his genetics are awesome but it really speaks to what crazy amount of discipline this guy has. He must train just an absolute absurd amount of hours throughout his life.
Pecs are for pulling your arm across your torso. It's your elbows and wrists that allow you to use them to push (along with triceps and delts)
That said, yes, his chest is huge 😂
@@plwadodveeefdv Exactly.
Climbers do a lot of pulling simultaneously with both left and right hands as they climb.
Essentially, they're doing high weight dumbbell flys many times, everyday.
Pretty sure he does quite regular push training, saw that in another video a few years back. Bench press and other stuff for his chest 👍
That gaston on the black boulder was absolutely bananas
Such an aesthetic move
This dude is LEGENDARY. Thanks for finally making the collab happen.
Nice to see the representation of the connection between jugglers and climbers.
At juggling festivals, a frequently asked question for organising teams is for local climbing recommendations!
I would love to get some details on that German climbing/beer drinking/push up competition! Sounds like a great way to have a comp with friends.
ITS FINALLY HAPPENING
15:45
I'm keeping tabs here!
o.O
It's good to see the relationship between climbers and jugglers represented. Local climbing ideas are a commonly requested question for team organizers at juggling festivals!
A lot of the online courses and video series about climbing just cover the basics that most intermediate to advanced climbers have already heard a million times over - so I'm really looking forward to seeing what someone like Megos can bring to the table
I enjoy listening to two pros talking about what they know. I don't understand some of it but I learn a lot. Great content!
That final juggle catch timed with the music was the cherry on top of enjoyment in an already saucy collaboration video 🍰

I first met him when he was 14 or so competing at a local Munich climbing event, winning the Pull Up contest with 41 reps…
Love the videos magnus. You inspired me to start climbing and I fell in love with the sport. Keep up the good work
There was great chemistry between the both of them. It would be great to see more videos of that.
Hear me out:
"Rock climber tries advanced pole dancing moves"
Im not kidding, there's some challenging stuff at the higher levels and it seems like the kind of thing rock climbing skills would translate really well to. Just keep your pants on please
Hell yeah💅
Man, I've been saying that all the time. It's my second sport and it's hella fun.
I mean I wouldn’t be against no pants Magnus🤷🏼
is there chalk in pole dancing?
I agree minus the keeping his pants on part
The two most sympathetic climbers in a collab. 🎉🎉🎉 Thank you for the video. Hope to see you two in Alex and Chris channel and every other channel from magnus! 😂
Are you from Brazil?
Alex's physique and genetics seem perfect for climbing. Strong upper body and very lean legs is a great way to portion your weight/mass for elite climbers.
If he'd also have good skin for climbing it would be perfect
@@lolo_o4309 What does that even mean
@@BDOGifting2 Like Alex said, he has bad skin. That is why he uses tape. Compare that to Tomoa Narasaki who in Magnus's video said that Japanese people usually have good skin for climbing.
Alex actually has short arms as well which disadvantage him a bit in terms of reach, but might be why he’s so strong at one arms lol
He’s 5’8” 128 lbs like most elite climbers too
Just loved it❤. We need more colabs with Alex. You both have wonderfully unique personalities.
Another amazing video Magnus, you're on a roll! I'm loving the climbing content!
The most interesting video to me would be maybe the top 10 or so strongest climbers and the top 10 strongest strongmen and put them through full body MRIs to see what is going on inside from scar tissue to calc build up to muscle density. Also flexibility tests of the various joints. MoCap to see the subtle differences in how their using their bodies as far as gait when walking/running/lifting/climbing/grip. Full study on their diet, full labs, and just basically an absolute full study to determine maybe a new way to strength train or maybe even a new way to define strength.
As this point i believe the pound for pound strongest person (upper body) is likely to be a climber.
The videos where these “little guys” absolutely amaze some of the biggest and strongest people to ever walk this planet are addicting and i need an in depth breakdown of what i think could change the physical fitness world and maybe even give us answers on how to stay physically fit and uninjured later in life.
If you read this then you are crazy. I just ramble.😂
was waiting for this one for a really long time, thanks :)
So cool to see you visiting my local Gym!
I can remember doing the Red 6 from the beginning of the video 1:48 😃
Magnus, you honestly don't seem out of place training with one of the world's greatest climbers, which says a lot. I know people are requesting this all the time, but you really should give competing another chance.
i think there is much more to it then matching the strentgh of other climbers. With people fully dedicating their lives to competition it would be a struggle getting past semi-finals and deal with all the stress of a competition with price money that is out of reach and does barely cover flights when you can enjoy climbing around the world and promote the sport on terms that are the most fun.
but with what goal? he knows already he is int the top 0.001% but not in the top 20 and its not like he will be there in 5-10 years. like that its extreme stress for little outcome.
@@itsmyboardwhotalkHe could get there if he dedicated more time and effort to training.
@@goldencookie5456with how i see it to be able to actually compete with the absolute best he would need to grind for almost all day everyday just to get to that level which means he won't be able to do youtube anymore. Also it's not like magnus is super young, he isn't old but if he trains for like five years to get to his absolute best it wouldn't last too long before aging starts to hinder him
Both of you are so skilled!! Been wating your channel for a while. Keep up the good progress!!!!!
So happy that you made a video with Alex

Not just the strongest climber but also super smart and very very funny.
And mindful of things around him and how he affects them.
when it comes to finger strength, Ales is indeed one of the strongest. Maybe you meant "not the best" regarding World Cup wins or so, but when it comes to strength, Alex is a Monster

Great. Was waiting so badly for this collab. Alex is such a cool and funny dude, at the same time truly badass. You could do more with him if you ask me 🙂
hey magnus wonderful video! so cool to see alex. WHEN IS THE NEXT OUTDOOR PROJECT VIDEO !!!!!!
That felt like a 10 minute video! I need more!
I love Alex's little stiches against modern climbing styles and competitions xD
Saw the short of you two, was hoping there would be a collab!
One of the first times I went climbing I met alex at a climbing gym in austria without knowing who he was. Crazy seeing this video.
Magnus never lets us down! Another awesome video!
Absolutely generous of you sharing details on training strategies. Hope this will be appriciated by future competitors and you will get honoured by the fans.
His obliques are insane
Magnus, that was great seeing you with Alex. Both are so humble in learning and sharing ideas.
It's good to see the relationship between climbers and jugglers represented. Local climbing ideas are a commonly requested question for team organizers at juggling festivals!
@@CioerKieov The botiest comment that ever botted
Alex was the first rock climber I watched. I came across a video of him and 3 other climbers that were kind of haughty about the fact that they spent most of their time on real rocks, while Alex said he trained mostly in gyms. By the end of it, they were all saying stuff like "I think I'll start training in the gym more" because Alex destroyed them in all of their competitions
He was also on the rock like every day when younger.
nice, it was the same video for me I think 😊
Yes, finally a session with Alex. What a beast!
We all know its actually the carrots that make him strong
Nah…. His secret is that he’s taking a spoonful of cod oil every morning (The Norwegian «Møllers» Brand)
Do you mean steroids?
@@mikegordon697Nah man, he seems too smart for that. Plus, I'm not sure if steroids are even allowed in the climbing olympiad.
They're definitely not allowed, but steroids for climbing would be pretty stupid. Pro climbers want to be lightweight, and steroids would grow all muscles, including those that aren't needed for climbing.
@@asharablackyoure right but...there's other things besides steroids. Lance Armstrong didn't look hugely muscular, but he definitely cheated. People need to accept that the strongest person in any athletic endeavor is likely on enhancements
I would be so excited to see you guys and Chris do a training session!
Alex’s hangboarding is unreal!
The collab we've all been waiting for 🥕
Finalllllyyyyy the Collab i was so eager for
The edeting is really nice, good to see the videos/photos you are talking about. Overall good videos, keep it up 👍
If you do another one, hope you show his ridiculous flexibility! Almost as impressive as his finger power
Yes! Also, even if he says he doesn't do it often, his campusing is impressive.
Love these videos ! When I turned 16, after two years doing pull ups regularly, I tested myself for a one arm pull up from a completely static position, no touching anywhere but the hand on the bar and no swinging at all, and did it. Now that I see these amazing competitors including Adam Ondra discussing the difficulty of this type of pull up, I feel quite satisfied to have done it when I weighed what Alex currently weighs now. 60 pounds more in body weight later...it's out of the question :)
Alex's laugh is a treasure
Very similar to Elon Musk 😅
@@brumasribera i was searching for this comment
Loving all of these climbing videos lately ❤
Finally! This is the day we all been waiting for🥳
Alex's "If you can cheat the boulder then you should" will be my favorite quote from now on. 6:32
Its cool to watch professionals talk about a route they haven't done and show the progress even if it's a short term project.
It's impressive to see how far we are from actually being able to hang ourselves in two fingers like this guy does. Yet for the monkeys and apes it is so easy, as they are so adapted to it. This guy's wrist strength, finger and grip strength are impressive. I can't actually even hang my self up in a bar and my wrist starts to hurt bad.
Edit: I was wrong at my comment reference. And I have been clarified by others. Thank you!
Of course germans had to somehow incorporate beer into climbing.
Awesome collaboration here! All the best for Alex at the Olympics 👍
Making Magnus look like a casual climber is insane 💀 this man lives and breathes climbing 👏👏👏

Alex's face looks like a German porcelain doll. He is also built perfect for climbing - powerful torso/shoulders/forearms and skinny legs
I was going to say it looks like he has makeup and blush on, but porcelain doll fits better
Knees and elbows the same circumference.
He can be a model for sure
He is handsome. Generally, Natural beauty = health, so it’s not at all surprising he’s so strong
