I too love the CG Flying Geese Ruler that I bought from you and I use it often. You taught me something new about it tonight - snipping the center of the wing blocks before sewing to reduce bulk! Thank you! I truly dislike bulk, and I think this will definitely help me in the future. Really cute block and quilt - thanks, Tammy!
Great tutorial for the block. I'm a newer quilter and am trying to learn the vasics with small projects like table runners/toppers. A wall hanging would be great too! Will you do a tutorial on how to make the piece into a wall hanging? What do you need to put on the back to hang it? Thanks!
Hi Brenda - We're so glad you enjoyed this fun tutorial! Jen does have a video on how to make a hanging sleeve for your projects, and you can find it here: www.shabbyfabrics.com/free-downloads-and-video/31 -Michelle
We need a larger of this, would make a Great Man quilt!! We need men quilt designs! Shabby could be one of the first to bring it to the public!!!! How can we expand this quilt to laptop size??or bed size?
We're so glad this project inspires you :) You can always combine some kits to achieve your desired size, or add more blocks. We only have a few of the Living the Dream fabrics left, but you can shop them here: www.shabbyfabrics.com/p132512 -Michelle
I know that this may be a strange question? But how do you get your mat to spin so easy. I have the same mat it won't spin like yours. Do I put oil on it?
Hi patriciaallen3138 - Please do not put oil on your spinning mat. We would recommend using it more, as we think that may be the difference. This could even look like just spinning it during downtimes. Hope this helps :) -Michelle
We do iron & steam our cotton fabrics prior to sewing. Sometimes we will use something like Magic Sizing to help stiffen the fabrics a bit, depending on the project. Hope this makes sense:) -Michelle
Instead of using fabric for your starter strip are use actually chunks of paper towel it tears apart very easily and it’s certainly cheap and it doesn’t take much fabric
