- We are sewing a very simple patchwork block. Suitable for beginner quilters.
I have a 6-1/2″ center square.
The strips of fabric I used to sew the rectangles together are 2-1/2 inches wide. And there are 6 of them.
The final size of the rectangles is 19 * 12-1/2 inches.
Strips of fabric can be of any width and there can be any number of them. The central square can be of any size.
Here’s how you calculate the size of a rectangle sewn from strips: width = two side lengths of the square + two seam allowances; length = three side lengths of the square + four seam allowances.

I am dazzled by the simplicity and the possibilities of this pattern. I've done a quilt with partial seams but the uniqueness of the diagonally cut strip set takes the design up to the 3rd power. 🎶💐💖
Thank you for appreciating my work!❤

Hello there, I am so glad to have found your channel, its reaaly like a God's send. I've been building up this passion to do patchwork and your videos are so helpful and inspiring, thank you so much for sharing. However, I would like to know how to calculate the quantity of fabric required for the complete project,
Thanks for the kind words! It is very difficult to accurately calculate the amount of fabric. That's why I always buy a little more. It's better to have some left than not enough.❤️
Thank you for your kind feedback, well appreciated. Also note form this day forward I'm watching all your videos and can;t wait to try them all 🥰@@themelodyofsewing6369
Very nice

What is the little pink thing that she sometimes rolls across the seams?
This thing is called a seam smoother.
How big is the finished block? Thank you 🙂
The finished quilt block measured 21.5 inches.
🎉🎉🎉❤😊
Ensina fazer esse marrom
This on a smaller scale and got it totally wrong i need simpler instructions 😊
Que peninha não tem em português 😢 que é centimetros😢
Unfortunately...
If you are not comfortable speaking on the video, you could the instructions printed on the screen - including fabric measurements. Why can’t you include those so we know what sizes to cut?
All sizes are displayed on the screen and duplicated in the description of the video.
The sizes don’t appear on my screen.
@@mycardsnz It is very strange! I watched the video again on my phone, tablet and computer and all sizes are visible.
Sizes show up for me also on my screen.
Touch the “…more” to connect to the sizes.
That looked like a swastika. With those colors the same. Holy sht.
It makes me really nervous to see you cutting towards yourself with the rotary cutter!
Calm! Everything's under control!❤
Any true quilter knows not to cut towards you.
Yes, you're right, I know that too! But there are always exceptions to the rules.
I love the table toppers but I would love to hear you give verbal instructions. It is boring to watch you sew.
Well then you need to look for another blogger. And my English will not give you pleasure.
Love the block. tutorial is great! The fabric choices are beyond awful.
Thanks for your comment! The choice of fabric is a matter of taste!❤
