Love this!! Does anyone else flashback to the days of ironing shirts, blouses & pants when Jenny moves her iron and you hear the water slosh? Boy I do, and I remember the smell of that cotton, especially if it was dried on the clothesline. And sprinkling it all with water, rolling it up and waiting (better put it in the fridge in case it has to wait overnight). And in 1969, ironing my husband’s Army fatigues. Such memories ~~~~

In 1950 Thanksgiving fell on 23 November - my birth date, so this project will be fun to do because I am so thankful for all the blessings of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ has blessed me all throughout my life. I will forever be grateful. This wall hanging will remind our children of how thankful and grateful it is to be at Thanksgiving and for family. Thank you Jenny for giving us this tutorial. I love it.

Love this, thank you so much. As a time saver, and because I have a hand tremor, I cut my heat n bond fusible paper into printer size, then print the templates straight onto the paper. It's a lot easier than tracing.

I just finished this adorable wall hanging over the weekend and took it into my 3rd grade classroom yesterday. For the last two years I've been taking my finished quilts into school to show my kiddos how I use MATH in my real life (piecing the tops). My, how I loved this project! I used fabric from my stash, pieced the batting together from remnants, and finally was brave enough to quilt it on my own machine. When I see it hanging on my classroom wall I'll be reminded how Thankful I am to have a hobby that brings me such joy and Thankful to have found MSQ to help support my still-developing skills. Love you guys!!!

Sounds like a great use of your math and quilting skills! Were the students suitably impressed?

As far as 8-year-olds go, they WERE impressed. I'm not sure they believe me about the need to use math, though... I'm pretty sure they think I'm making up all the math stuff!!!

I just finished making this, and I have to say it was the most fun I've had in quilting for a long time, and I love to quilt, so that tells you how much fun this was. A little piecing, some applique, lots of choices with the scrappy fabric - it had it all, and it was not huge so I was able to finish it in time for Thanksgiving. I give this one 5 stars!!

What a cute wall hanging. It reminds me of how I do quilt as you go. I love your tutorials. I do quilt as you go since I have a small machine and not much space. I follow along as you do blocks until it is time for me to sandwich them and later sash them together. I also can't get the hand of "quilting" the top so I do a top stitch around the pattern to hold down the batting and attach the backing. A finished quilt is better than a perfect quilt! This will be on the to do list for sure.

A couple years back I’ve visited Missouri Star. I really wanted to see you but I realized how busy you were so I didn’t say a word. Then you walked out from the office. I’m pretty tall but you’re taller than I am. I felt like I was looking at a movie star and I didn’t say a word. Our GPS too is to the original store. It was a warehouse. Workers were getting ready to move to the new place. They gave directions and told us how wonderful you and the family were. They said they would have had to move away if it wasn’t for Missouri Star. You can certainly judge a person by the way they treat the people to work for them.

One of my favorite pattern tricks especially if it's a pattern I'll use more than once is to use scrapbook glue in the little handheld rollers (double sided adhesive), on the back of my printed pattern with old file folders cut my pattern pieces out then use those as hard pattern to trace around. Gives my pencil or pen something to butt up against.
