Hi, after a week of visiting the grandkids, repairs to our pickup truck and getting the flu, I'm finally starting to feel like myself again. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead! Thank you for this video!
Wow, Brenda! You sure know how to keep busy. We are glad to hear that you're on the mend and doing well. It's always good to take some time to invest in yourself and your family. Take care and a fantastic weekend. Thanks for watching!! 💙 -Michelle
🌸🌺 Wow, What a gorgeous pincushion! And again, you are so well prepared, you make it easy to I des hat we have to do. Thanks a lot for that! The receiver of this gift should watch the tutorial to see all the love there is in that project!
I’ve made a few of Sharon Burgess’s EPP projects. Love her work and will make this one doing EPP. Very interesting the way that you made this into a sewing project. Now people who don’t like EPP can make her projects as well.
Blue is my favorite color and these fabrics are gorgeous 💙. Jen, your tutorial videos are excellent and this one certainly doesn’t disappoint! So detailed and easy to follow along. 💘 Thank you for all you put into each project! 👏
I saw a video of a lady that Hand sew an entire hand bag that was EPP’d. it was absolutely gorgeous and it was very interesting to see it all come together. It was absolutely amazing just how beautiful it turned out. Not one piece was machine sewn. It was way beyond my skill set.
Awesome teaching for anyone who is not experienced, but very well-done for those who are. Thanks for these fun videos! Would love to add a fabric bowl in the middle to hold clips =) Also, a dot of clear nail polish on a knot keeps it secure!
A few little tips for anyone struggling a bit with that circle-and-band. The pinning goes a lot easier for the attaching to the first circle if you run a gathering stitch, by hand (in a similar way that you do for yo-yoes, covering buttons and so on) around the other side of the band (that you're not pinning). That will help to pull in the fullness of band more evenly for pinning and get it "flatter" for sewing. Hand-basting them together before sewing means you can ignore pins at the machine and concentrate on smooth sewing around the circle (and using a shorter stitch length makes that easier too). Before doing an of that though I'd machine sew all around the circle just inside the seam-line and clip all around it to within a couple of threads of that line, but not through it. It will make sewing the band on a lot easier and still keep the main joining seam really strong.
This is a beautiful project.. When I have made them before, I use a small piece (Just for the closure)of fusible fleece and tuck it in ( after filling the pincushion) I then use a small piece of the fusible tape , along with pins. Carefully iron that spot, then sew it shut. It's a great reinforcement.
Beautiful Tutorial! Thanks for all the projects you share. I have heard that walnut shells/hulls are poison to pets if eaten. Is this true? and if so, what would be a good replacement choice for the filling. Thanks.
Hi Karen - We would definitely recommend you maybe asking your local vet on ideas for suggested fillings that would not be poisonous to your pets. -Michelle
Hi Donna- We do not have an ETA on the templates, but if you make sure to sign up to be notified by email here: www.shabbyfabrics.com/p117538/tenderness-pincushion-pattern-includes-papers-3-acrylic-templates , you will be notified by email immediately when our inventory arrives. Hope that makes sense! 💖 -Michelle
Are you out of the Tenderness Pincushion Kit? I was hoping to buy the fabric Kit but your link doesn't go to it and I can't find it in the Kit section of your website.
Thank you for respecting the copyright and the fact that it is the intellectual property of someone else! As someone who used to work in a print shop, you have no idea how many disregard this. If someone else makes money or a living off of selling something, you can't turn around and copy it a bazillion times!
Thank you for your feeback, Megan. Jen starts demonstrating how to attach the bottom at minute 42:42, and the at minute 46:00, she talks through how you attach and sew the bottom circle on. The process would be similar to attaching the initial circle as in minute 41:20. Hope that makes sense! ❤️ -Michelle
Love the idea of this. One thing that I think would make it easier to place the template would be to put it on the fabric and lay the piece you have already cut on top of the template. Line it up and then cut. Just sayin'...
I am so disappointed in the quilting community and people that make specialized tools make for different things I don't understand why every single pattern or project needs a specific template or rulers not everyone has 20 to 60 dollars for a template that may not be used 2 or 3 times. I'm truly disappointed everyone everyone has certain specialized templates. A suggestion May be a paper template so we can cut it out of a hard piece of plastic
Hi Michael- We've had these templates in our shop for some time and sought special permission from the designer to create this tutorial to aid those who have purchased these templates in creating this project. Since we enjoy the Resplendent collection from Jason Yenter, we also decided to create a kit designed for this template/pattern as an option if customers are interested in making one like Jen. We did not design these templates so we are unable to offer a pdf replica like you are suggesting. You may be able to offer your suggestion to the template designer as a potential alternative. Thanks for watching! -Michelle
@@ShabbyFabrics I thank you for that I'm still looking out for those of us that just can't afford the products you're videos suggest we use, thank you for your time.
It's the fussy-cutting that makes it seem like a more complex design than it really is. Imagine it all in solids and you'll soon see how simple it really is. It is really nothing more than a Grandmother's Flower Garden arrangement of hexies with a plain hexie in the middle, petals that are half-hexagons with pointy tops and "fancy fillers" that slip in between the outer ring of hexies.
My Mom was a Tailor. She LOVED Clover Products and utilized many of them as her "Go-To" tools. I still use them.
We love our Clover brand products too! You must have created a lot of wonderful memories with your mother. Thank you for sharing! 💖 -Michelle

I disagree...all of Jen's detailed instructions are needed to make this project. I watch video and rewind when needed.
