Cool video. For me, if I am not going to produce several of these and just cap the existing on like you did, I would just make carbon fiber directly on the part. Same difference but cheaper and save time. I'm assuming. I am completely new to this. Thoughts?
morning.excelent job. one question. I bought carbon fiber and polyester resin only. Do I need gelcoat to wrap an interior plastic piece of my car or could I use the same resin? thank you in advance
Probably the same method as this video, you could ditch the aluminium powder and use a normal vinyester gel coat if you planed of making the fedner by resin infusion process as the mould wouldn't need to get so hot.
How many layers of fiber did you use to get about 1mm thickness? I'm looking into making A pillar covers and I'm not sure if I want to use 1mm or 2mm thick sheet wax and how many layers of fiber to use. I'm thinking I will vacuum bag it or possibly just start with hand layup
What's thinking about making my own carbon parts and your videos are really helpful!
Finally another no non Since carbon channel i like the captions and work being done.
😍 Perfect fitment! you make it look so easy, damn you 😆
I don’t think we have access to some of the products used in the US, but wish I could copy this exactly.
Thank you very much. Ich just want to start now and try to make some parts for my motorcycle.
That sheet Wax is cool. I thought for a minute it was worbla
Always nice to see a new release from you!
Like a glove!

Do you think this pattern coat primer can be used on 3d printed molds as the final surface of the mold? Or is it not durable enough?
Possible! Worth checking out with the supplier

How long & temp of the oven process ?
So clean. What’s your go to epoxy?
what method you do for this video? vacuum infusion method or wetlay method
By adding this to cover the original panel wouldn’t it stick out ever so slightly from the other car panels?
Yes, but only by the thickness of the carbon fibre which is about 1mm cured so not really noticable.
Hi, why didn't you make the mold directly on the wax sheet?
Because the finish the wax leaves in the mould requires alot of Sanding to get flat. And it's very awkward and time consuming
@@CarbonWorkshops I with 3 coats of PVA on the wax sheet the mold is pretty good.
Hi, if you were going to make a one off say car fender, what process would you use to make a mould? Cheers

saddly the cover seem to interfere with the opening of the door 😓
I have not seen how comes off the carbon stuff .....???

I used 1 layer 210g and 1 layer of 416g prepreg carbon fibre. You would need to experiment as wet lay will generally be slightly thicker.
Why use a Gel Coat from different company as other material?
Their gel coat isn't very compatible with prepreg carbon fibre
@@CarbonWorkshops thanks for reply. So, for use with regular CF and not Prepreg is ok, theirs Gel coat?
Where did you get that sheet of wax??? Thanks!!!
Easy composites
What release spray wax do you use?
Rw4 from easy composites
Почему в начале наносшь стекло ткань, а в конце получается карбон?
Предлагаю наклеить сразу карбон.
No carbon has been added. All made from chopstrand matting.
@@CarbonWorkshops как вы объясните по итогу карбоновый рисунок на крышке? И в названии ролика написано (Как сделать Карбоновый Чехол).
The op has made a mould, and then used that mould to make a carbon fibre cover. It's not skinning
@@garyengland5326 понятно.
