I personally think this blue dial 116509 is the most gorgeous Daytona currently made. I prefer it to the Platona and it's green dialed brother. So beautiful and classy with the blue, red, and white gold.
Awesome piece 🔥 I’m a white gold type of guy. A wise man once told me there are only 3 types of people that pay attention to your watch: people who sell watches, people who steal watches and a few watchgeeks like us. The rest couldn’t care less 😉
It feels heavy on your wrist and a constant reminder that you gotta big boy on your wrist yet probably the most understated Daytona ever. This might be the one piece in the collection I’d never let go.
@Paul Thorpe Watch Dealer Paul please do a review on the 116528PN Daytona. I seriously think this watch has a big future, as rolex gave it the PN suffix as a nod to Paul Newman. I personally prefer the gold dial/black subdial variant
Great video! I’m surprised that you didn’t talk about price but evidently you didn’t want to. By far my favorite Daytona!💪 Definitely heavy weight hitter!
You are so correct there is a $2k difference between a new ceramic white dialled and a blue dialled white gold in very good condition. Makes far better sense!!
I bought the blue yachtmaster for the same reason. I think the blue and red hints is very nautical/marine Inspired, so it works better with the yachtmaster based on function. It doesn’t have the model power of a Daytona but few models have when they’re new. Nobody cared about daytonas like they do now the first 20 years it was out.
Eric, I appreciate your videos and watch expertise. 2 years later, what do you think about this watch? Any further thoughts? You were right about the prices going up on the watch, and I have discovered the 116509 only recently.
I just bought a previous generation Omega Seamaster 300 with a blue dial, and I can confirm... blue dials are definitely a special thing in watches, they just pack a punch that non watch lovers just don’t get! But even they enjoy a well executed blue dial :)
Great video Eric, love the shots you have taken.. beautiful watch.. while we are on the topic of blue dials, do you think the z blue milgauss once discontinued will do well in the grey market?
Love how Eric is not trying to talk like a Latino gangster but due to his accent he inadvertently does a bit anyway! Keep up the good work my man, love your videos.
I like this watch and this video - the day/date ice blue dial video as well. This is good advice. The subtle bezel/dial differences you mention are what makes it fun to spot the real heavy hitters in the wild. Eric with real luxury insights - pay attention Tiffany dial dreamers!
That red pinstripe.... man thats the first thing that popped for me. Just picked up a GMT Rootbeer, now you making me rethink my decision lol. great vids man
This is a great watch! I think the price will surge this year. I am hoping to see your video on the white gold daytona with a mother of pearl dial and on a rubber strap.
Thanks for the awesome video. Nobody did it like you. Do you feel this one would be harder to get than the white gold panda? And what do you estimate are the waiting times roughly from AD?
Beautiful piece. A WG “stealthy stunner.” Agree about the hint of red, but I wish the sub-dial tracks were silver to offset the blue. (I would nickname it the “Black Bolt.”) Thanks, Eric.
Im a blue watch kinda guy. Think right now i have 5-6 blue dial watches and only 3 black dials and 1 white dial. The blue watches get worn more and im probably not going to flip them either. The blue is just fun to look at and i appreciate them more when get a minute of down time during my day to look down and appreciate that mesmerizing blue dial.
I had this one. I felt it wears small. It’s beautiful, but ultimately sold it. The black dial ceramic Daytona stayed. For white gold sports, I went Yachtmaster 42 on oyster flex.
Love it! I’m rocking a new SS DJ41 Blue Dial, the junior watch of pretty much every blue dial watch you review which is about as close as I will ever get to the big boys. Great video!
White gold is for someone that doesn’t want to scream that I have money vs Yellow gold you definitely want to show off😉 Thanks Eric and I think you should add that to your watch collection 👍 Cheers
@@WatchEric The yellow is a nice watch as well, but I’ve said it before in your comment section... Yellow gold is for people in South Florida, New York and Los Angeles; the rest of us here in conservative middle America (Texas, for example) don’t wear yellow gold. Understatement wins the day. Yes, I’m sure many will give me anecdotal examples of people wearing yellow gold in these geographies, but it isn’t prevalent. Remember, our shirts are buttoned up further, we generally don’t wear gold neck chains or a lot of cologne...it is just a stylistic difference-nothing more.
Hey Eric, thanks for the video! I am thinking to get the old white gold Daytona with the black dial 116509. Can you please tell me if there's the difference you mentioned between this blue dial Daytona's bezel and 116520 on the black dial white gold Daytona? Thanks!
I’ve always wanted a steel watch with a nice blue dial, but the YM1 is just way too light on the wrist. This Daytona solves the problem in a “stealth wealth” kind of way. Lol.
bro, your video opening shots are always amazing. very nice watch. Is this what they call the "John Meyer" Daytona? lol This thing after John was on Hodinke has gone up like crazy
eric man may I ask how much the grey market price for the blue dial daytona right now, just wanna compare the price for the offer thks in advance broda!
My AD said that mine will be in my wrist by the end of 2021 , I hope so , I love the fact it’s understated , but if you know you know, blue dial says it all
Love the looks of this. Choosing between this and a rose or yellow is for me a no-brainer. Wouldn't swap my rose gold chocolate with arabic numerals on rubber for it. But do prefer it to a full rose model.
Hi Eric I'm a fan and yes I agree it's gonna be a future collectible I actually have one in my safe I wear it once in awhile right now its my rootbeer that's getting more wrist time
@@WatchEric can you also make a review or video of my latest purchase this month the Panerai Submersible pam 959 blue dial shark grey dial in 42mm to make its value go up :)
Eric, there is a key value and aesthetic differentiator to this watch vs. the green dial 116508 and the stainless versions that no one as commented on on TH-cam! The 116509 has a symmetrical case and the lugs curve down with feet, JUST LIKE THE NEW 2023 Daytonas! The green dial version and the stainless models all have slimmer right side lugs and a flat case back!
IMO if you're buying a watch for profit and you are not a dealer or don't don that for a living, you don't deserve to enjoy the beauty of these time pieces. Love the Blue dial Daytona! great video as always Eric.
That is by far one of my favorite Daytonas, such an harmonious design, such a breathtaking color in the dial with those red accents🤤🤤. That shine of the white gold looks just stunning 🤩 🤩🤩
It really could be the coolest watch Rolex make, with amazing specifications with the white gold case and bracelet combined with the sunburst blue dial but deliberately presented in such an subtle and understated fashion. It’s got the lot but doesn’t broadcast it. Absolutely top watch

I still got the watch in 2020 and now it is one of my favorite watches. Many people ask me: I've never seen them with a blue dial. it looks perfect!
Green dial YG has hiked around 10K here in the UK over the last week or so! Crazy...
Here also. Its madness.
It has over here as well. Its madness

Best looking Daytona at the moment. That is why I got mine last year😁
So beautiful. Understated, Underrated. Pure class. The person who buys this configuration loves watches, and is not interested in flexing.
