Have being the owner of 116509 gray dial for three years, besides this beauty, I had 116509 blue, 116520 black and white, 126508 Paul Newman dial am waiting for platinum dial. I am the big fan of Daytona liner. Although I have so many, this gray dial is my most favorite in the Dayton lines.
bought the classic 116520 black dial and absolutely love it. Looks fantastic with either a suit or casual. I also love the fact that it is not an "in your face" Rolex like Sub, GMT or any jubilee bracelet.
Totally agreed with you Ridah, love the white gold daytona, looks like steel but it's precious. My pick in the daytona line up is the white gold meteorite dial on a rubber strap!
Hi Ridah, great job as always! Love your content. I am fortunate enough to have the black on black stainless steel Daytona and the platinum Daytona. The black is more timeless and versatile to me, but I do love the ceramic bezels overall. However, the one I want now in white gold is the dark blue dial with red chaptering around the three subdials. Very classy in my view and could pass as a stainless steel 116520.
I was lucky enough to walk in to an AD last weekend and pick up a white golf Daytona with the black and diamond face. Once I tried it on there was no way I was going to pass. But it is a HEAVY watch to wear
I pretty much agree on the statement : ANY DAYTONA. Simply because of the fit of this watch. I love this reference in this video but also the blue dial wg is amazing. The two-tone with black dial is still underrated imo because this thing live is a killer watch.

Daytona is a sports watch and therefore the most suitable colour is silver. If you like precious metal, you have to go with either white gold or platinum. I like the white gold with the black dial and diamonds on it. The diamonds on a black dial really shine. Once you have worn a full precious metal watch, you don't want to go back to stainless steel because it feels different besides just the weight. It's hard to explain the difference. You need to try one on yourself.
The main reason why precious metal Daytona is a better option is because of the dial. The dials on the precious metal Daytonas looks much better compared to the stainless steel ones. When people are talking about the price point they often forget that the dial can add a lot to the value of the watch.

I totally agree with everything you say. I love hefty on the wrist. Just feels that I have brought something substantial on the wrist. I have a pre ceramic daytona in steel, and this would be perfect for me because I wouldn't worry about scratchings it as I have a vast collection and it will get worn sparingly. Would love to upgrade to this because I love precious metal and also the sliver dial is stunning. However, from my experience recently, although grey market prices have decreased, dealers I have come across realise this and have taken advantage of this and offer me ridiculously lower money for my time piece. I get it because they need to make money but price offered and the price they want for the this watch will make it hard to part with the steel.

On the note of previous metal, with Rolex, definitely the way to go. Completely agree with you on the note of aftermarket dealers and the aspect of lowballing, it’s how they make a living and unfortunately it’s on our backs! I haven’t done this yet but the thought of going with some of the buy back programmed, Rolex for instant and this CPO, don’t imagine it’s any good but have you checked?

I love this watch, I have this same model on oysterflex, about 2 months later I got a SS Panda from my AD and even on the oysterflex the difference is so noticeable, also, the WG in person has such a beautiful luster, especially when I was holding them side by side, I find myself rarely ever wearing the Panda as I always reach for the WG over the SS.
White gold Daytona : classiest piece ever . I own the Blue Dial WG and it got me so many compliments . People aknowedge your individuality , discrete yet classy traits . Women love it when I have it on because they respect the " stelath wealth " side that it brings . Your panda WG is excellent too . I could own both

Yellow gold is elegant , Rose gold is sporty , Platinum is subdued and versatile, two tone is casual for every day and finally SS when I go to a Rolex AD lol 😂….. so they respect ……😂. Just tried the white gold Daytona today at the AD, it is not enough difference to pay the very high price difference. The value of the gold is not worth the 26k extra. Even the movement are the same. Only reason to get the gold is to show that you can actual afford it😊

Great video and it is a great watch. I own this watch, new from AD. It is a quality, good weight, and the right size 40mm. A great understated watch, and somewhat good value. I would rather have a White Gold bezel than a ceramic one any day. Soon, they will all be ceramic. This a seriously great watch for all occasions. They are also a bit rare, my AD said it was the first one he had in 5 yrs, as opposed to SS which he gets regularly. Possibly a full white gold Panda.

I have the platinum and John Mayer but one time I walked into Rolex and they had the white gold panda and I passed for the blue dial white gold. I’ve regretted it ever since. That white gold panda is my favorite of the lot I think. Ask me tomorrow 😂

White gold Daytona wears way smaller than steel. Probably because the ceramic bezel gives more visual size. I had both the blue dial 116519 white gold and also the black dial ceramic 116500 in steel. I kept the steel one.
Gorgeous watch just like all the precious metal Daytonas. I also like the idea that it is represents more than it appears to on the wrist. However; in the boutique everything pales when compared to the presence of the John Mayer. The green dial on the yellow gold is breathtaking and knowing that you will never see one for retail is equally frustrating. It’s like pulling up to the restaurant in your matte black G Wagon and valet parking you next to the canary yellow Lamborghini. When you come out of the restaurant no one can find your vehicle because they can’t take their eyes of the Lambo. Disclaimer: I own none of they above items ;-).
Yeah, I know what you mean, but I would prefer to cruise off quietly in the Bentley Continental GT, and let the Lambo get the attention. The Bentley will still be a classic in decades time.

The Laureato models from Girard Perregaux are in a higher demand with value increase of 30.6 percent for the past year while Rolex Decreased by 12.9 percent.Both are very elegant and one of my favorite watch models.Not saying you should purchase watches Solely for investment purposes but that's something to think about.They are both considered as expensive high end Luxury watches that target specific Lavish living customers with extra money to spend however When Compared with that white Gold Rolex Daytona which is an absolute beauty the Laureato is almost 3 times less in value .That would be a hard decision to make considering the Daytonas timeless look unless ur going for the more expensive Pink gold Laureato Which as a dress watch I would choose over the Daytona at any day.If you could I'd say get both 😂

@Watch Society are you saying the white gold blue dial was discontinued? I had not heard that. I have recently seen a number of them online in the high 40s low 50s. Currently in London and was offered one in mid 40s, but it was the 2016 out of warranty and missing a number of links. Showing some signs of wear....
The problem is that legibility sucks on that one. 09 and 19LN...Even the Panda is terrible so you have to at least be able to see the time. And this dial is useless after sunset.

Got the call August of 2022 for my 116500LN Black Dial Daytona and have been wearing it ever since, but this white gold one is very nice.

@Watch Society are you saying the white gold blue dial was discontinued? I had not heard that. I have recently seen a number of them online in the high 40s low 50s. Currently in London and was offered one in mid 40s, but it was the 2016 out of warranty and missing a number of links. Showing some signs of wear....

The problem is that legibility sucks on that one. 09 and 19LN...Even the Panda is terrible so you have to at least be able to see the time. And this dial is useless after sunset.
Nice video, all I have to say, scratch scratch scratch, you can get the ss for 19 on grey market, that's 45-19= money in my pockect on a watch no one can see the difference.
