An unsuspectingly busy level crossing located in between Barnes and Mortlake on White Hart Lane. This level crossing is accompanied by a fairly new footbridge named Hart Bypass which allows pedestrians and cyclists to cross whilst the barriers are lowered for the many trains that pass here in a typical hour. Each side road next to the level crossing on each side has an extra set of lights facing down it (despite one side road being faced by a 'no left turn' sign pointing right over the level crossing) making six sets of lights (wigwags) here in total. There are also two alarms, and one of these has a slightly wobbly and faulty tone. The footways over and around this level crossing are also fairly narrow, making pedestrian traffic waiting at the barriers become quite congested at times.
The most notable catches in this video include a misuse from an impatient driver, who could have easily stopped, during the first lowering, and a Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) trundling past on a Rail Head Treatment Train towards the end of the second. Try to ignore the people in front of the camera at the start of the second lowering, as the level crossing had just raised from a previous lowering which I had missed as I wasn't expecting the level crossing to activate as early as it did (with the train still in Richmond Station!).
Another side note: this video was filmed on the first day of the brand new 'Ultra-Low Emissions Zone) being introduced to all areas within the north/south circular of London. This level crossing is just within this zone.
    Thanks for watching!
