I remember in my ‘bashing’ days making the dash to Bham New St on Sundays as they used to drag the electric Euston trains usually a 86/87 diagram to enable the engineering works to take place.
Great times.
The 31s used to perform the Bham - Norwich cross country service AND 37s were smashing the Liverpool St to Cambridge route.
Not to mention the regular Manchester to North Wales services handled by 40s.
Those were the days. I miss them ‼️

What's the banging at 22:00 ? Brakes dragging? Can't be wheel flats as too frequent and begins suddenly.
Not quite sure, think the driver might’ve slammed on the breaks as he stopped just after before departure could just be the fact coalfish wagons are quite old and neglected.
Sounded like the brakes were being pulsed?
