maybe the most important part of the chinese stealth amour's effect is that neither shooting nor moving will break it's stealth effect; as long as you are crouching you are invisible. This makes it crazy good for solo'ing.
The only thing that really stops me from wearing the stealth suit is the horrible carry weight and lack of ap refresh that I’m used to with my full set of unyielding ap sentinel ss. If we could roll 3 random legendary effects to it I’d wear it a lot more b
It also makes it harder for enemies to hit you, even if you are discovered (just like how it makes your hit chance 0 when using VATs on enemies that are also invisible).
For me its Secret Service armor - best overall stats, has jetpack, easy to roll with only 1 legendary module per craft, appeareance doesn't matter when using outfits and Unyielding gives you all the stealth you ever need
I just got my unyeilding set today. Mismatched pieces. What do you have for underarmor? BOS Shielded had better resistances, but the Vault suit is said to increase more SPECIAL stats. I'm thinking the role of this set of under and over armor will level grinding. Thoughts on the underarmor? I usually run as a stealth commando, and not sure what I'll end up as after this is made.
@@mikeburgess1688 For Stealth Commando stat-wise Shielded Raider underarmor is probably the best (+3 PER, +3 AGI, +1 LCK) unless you you need the extra luck from Shielded Vault suit underarmor to hit certain crit refill thresholds. But I prefer the Shielded Secret Service underarmor as it has the best resists (+15 DR/ER/RR) and the most stats (+4 STR, +2 PER, +4 END).
@@crazy-tommy Thank you for the reply. I may have to experiment between the 2 you mentioned. I just need something that levels up better. 1st character at lv 239 is too slow.
Jet pack why it’s a waste compared to dense I don’t think the jet pack is at all useful since when you’re in a team with strange in numbers makes you jump super high.
@@SirSlicer66 The Jetpack is a unique perk without a real replacement in the game. Sure you can also just jump, but this is very limited even with Strange in Numbers. With the jetpack you can fly up to the roof of buildings or fly horizontal over large gaps. After playing with Jetpack for ane extended period, you can never play without one again as the quality of life it brings is indispensable. Dense is less valuable if you already have the Fireproof perk. I would rather prefer Asbestos Lining (for full fire immunity) or BioCommMesh (for longer chem duration) over Dense if I wouldn't be so dependent on my Jetpack.
I use mine all the time .... my unyielding with WWR keeps me under weight, but if I need to go into a rad zone or coming out of an Earl fight, I throw on my Chinese stealth suit temporarily
I won mine in a quest, can’t remember which one. I keep it with me all the time, but I don’t wear it all the time. Not that great against energy and ballistic.
Can confirm the absolute psychological pain you go through crafting Vault armors. I spent - brace yourself - over 10,000 scrip rolling an unyielding thorn set. that's not a typo or an exaggeration. 10,000 scrip, AND I'm still rolling because I want an extra chest to swap out - pneumatic for everyday use(main melee), maybe a dense, and an Asbestos Lining for colossus. I stopped keeping track after 10,000 a month or two ago. I'm probably close to 20k scrip into it at this point. I could have rolled so many worthless miniguns to gamble for a Vbash with all the scrip i dumped into thorn.
@Jordie St. Richards III 10,000 isn't a lot huh? walking through the math here. its 10 vault steel per piece, and 1 module. that is 150 scrip each. subtract 24 for recycled pieces. leaving you with 126 per piece. 10,000 divided by 126. rounding down to 78 pieces of armor. Now! factor in the 5 steel restriction per server. 2 hops per piece. 156x2=312 loading screens just to gather the materials required. not consecutive mind you. but, it sure seems like a lot to me. 80 pieces of armor would be enough to have 5 god rolled secret service. side note; 15k scrip into the set now. still need that last extra chest to swap for earl.
These are the mechanics I absolutely hate in videogames, you should never have to literary waste tons of hours to obtain something because it's made total random. It's just BS, especially for a PVE-based game.
It looks cool enough for me to not worry about that. My main problem is the inability of rolling legendary effects onto it. I’m too used to wearing ap refresh armor and having a ton of carry weight. But I do carry mine for nuke zones and what not.
I’m stuck using the stealth suit because I’m spoiled by it. With speed demon mutation, I’m basically crouch walking all the time and the mobs will never detect me. So yeah I’ve become a night kin lol.
If you have Escape Artist, you can run in stealth. I'm a newb, so I'm working on SS and Covert Scout armor, but CSA is amazing for stealth commando. It's crazy good for running resources in events.
you should have shown the stats for the covert scout armour with full polymer mods as if you have high agility and full stealth perks you really don't need to go double shadow with it the bonus it grants is more than enough, and with full polymer mods this armor offers crazy high resistances for light armour. So you get the best of both worlds.
Hey! Do you know if is SS armour is viable for stealth commando? I just returned to the game after 2 years and need my endgame armor. I’m leaning towards Covert but Idk
@@mahfkr SS is probably the best for commando/rifleman because it is so easy to get unyielding on, only need 1 legendary module to build and get a 1,2, or 3 star effect Also high resistances
Overeater Solar Armor Set for me and like you said it can be a pain to obtain the full set because of the Vault Steel and Legendary Crafting restrictions.
I'd roll a solar set, but I don't see this game lasting another year to allow me the time to roll a set. EDIT: The expiditions are not looking good....
Secret Service armor only costs one gambling token to craft. The armor with the least gambling is always going to be my favorite. It makes crafting complete sets a lighter kick to the balls.
I agree with you Turtle, the secret service armor is pretty ugly. It looks like you’re wearing HVAC plastic components. Covert Scout is the only decent looking end game armor. Bonus points for it being murdered out. I have a full set of Unyielding Covert Scout with one piece as harder to detect and full shadowed mods. *I am become stealth.*
If the freeze resistance was better I think the Arctic Marine armor could be considered a valid endgame option, unfortunately (IMO) the effect is useless because it is so low. Just to mention that I matched a full set of PA with freeze resistance (125) for daily ops and I barely noticed a difference for other PA's with no freeze resistance, so, IMO I think that the Arctic Marine armor should have at least 150 freeze resistance to be considered viable and even then I think that it wouldn't prevent the target to be frozen. Stay safe and keep up the good work.
yeah, it’s weird isn’t it? I figured out that 4 pieces of poison resist armor makes you totally immune to daily ops poison so I decided to test it with cryo resist and, like you said, I couldn’t tell a difference at all. I don’t know if it’s bugged or what.
I hate how a set, you CAN ONLY FARM from daily ops, is still just trash for endgame....like, why introduce something with a resistance to something that is encountered less than 1% of the time throughout the entire player bases game play time from beta launch? Artic marine armor is cosmetic at best, and worse than even the 3rd best late game armor.
@@The_Queen_Chrysalis Yeah, I made a Freeze PA even before there was the Arctic Marine, just for the purpose of using it on those particular ops, and was utterly disappointed that the effect was worthless, this is 125 resistance on a PA, the Arctic Marine has even less than 100. I was also with the impression that 100 would be enough (like poison resistance), oh boy how I was wrong.
@@imoutofideasfornames yup, it's very weird and if it's a bug since no one cared much and talked much about the issue I think that Bethesda won't do anything about it. Not really surprised anymore with this company.
@@The_Queen_Chrysalis It would be worth keeping a set if it actually prevented you from being frozen in daily ops. But, obviously it doesn’t so, it’s completely worthless.
I've been using SS armor ever since I completed wastelanders and usually have a CSS on me for stealth/rad rumble needs. I am working on a covert scout set for an alternitive if needed or want to switch it up, but torn/solar isn't in my sights at all.
I have the Chinese stealth armor and I love it. There are a few cards at synergizes with very well. Here is my stealth build. Under endurance get the card photosynthetic to regenerate health during the day. For the legendary perk get the card what rads that regenerates two rads per second. Perception column get the night eyes card to give you night vision at night. All three archery cards max out. For the actual stealth cards, covert operative increases stealth attack damage, sneak helps with sneak, and escape artist allows me to lose enemies easily. Then under luck I have storm chaser just leveled up once to make rain and radiation storms regenerate health. With this combo I can sneak in and out of pretty much anywhere and I can just stand in a radiation vent. I can use radiation barrels as cover. Radiation is absolutely nothing to me and my health regenerates constantly from any radiation I do take. Pair the Chinese stealth suit with this setup and then the Marine recon helmet. The recon helmet gives you immunity from waterborne diseases as well.
I do use secret service armor with faster ap regeneration and radiation shielding. I'm mostly playing as a commando speed runner tank without stealth, but VATS crit focused. I would like to use power armor, but i have my food and drinks carry perks on a backpack. As soon as i enter power armor, my weight quadruples and i don't want to make my special loadout full of carry perks...
I want to like the Stealth Armor, but the invisibility makes it a headache to aim properly in first person. I have to use 3rd to see where I'm hitting.
I've been wearing a perfect set of bos combat armor I crafted years ago. It's all gourmand ap refresh and sentinel. Took me almost two years to get all the pieces and I can't be bothered to roll ss armor.
I run a complete set of uny ss armor with junkie explosive handmade and I forgot the third effect. But junkie explosive is very good. Since I run a bloody build kinda I stay bloodied and with the nerd rage+bloody mutation I’m doing basically the same amount of damage as a bloody explosive.
I love my secret service armour...I am not really going to try for any other set simply because of the stupid terrible chances to get something good... Having a well balanced set of resistances is good in my opinion... I also do like the bulky look of the secret service armour... you actually look like you're wearing something helpful instead of some flimsy piece of armour hahahaha
I have that for my pistol and commando builds. BOS recon for my rifleman. Secret service is definitely better. But not enough to make a big difference. The BOS set was a pain in the arse to get and an even bigger pain to roll. You made made right choice with secret service.
@@Dead_Pool_Rising I've had SS since it dropped xD been playing from the start of the game... but I just domt feel like rolling for those new types of armour while it doesnt give me any actual benefit I was saving up vault steel to roll thorn armour...but thsts pointless now... so we will see what the steel will be used for eventually xD
@@Mr3ppozz I hear you. I bought the game about 6 months the after launch but didn't really play it much until wastelanders dropped. (My heavy gunner got the T-65, which I never made legendary, and instead got strangler heart when legendary crafting come out and made the overeaters.) My rifleman got BOS because by the time I got round to him I'd already rolled secret service twice and just wanted a change.
@@Dead_Pool_Rising I understand that xD change is good.. I have 4 active toons.. All going to use secret service and all use excavator xD 1 commando 1 heavy 1 melee and 1 random assortment of whatever I can get my hands on

I have been playing since Beta. My main character is level 3184. He is a Heavy AAE Tank Build. I use SS Vanguard Sentinel with WWR. On my secondary character, which is a level 958 Bloodied Stealth Commando, I also use a full set of SS Unyelding with HTD. I have never had any problems with either a full health build or bloodied using Secret Service Armor.

I wear secret service and keep a stealth suit on me to use as a hazmat. Secret Service is stealthy enough if you’re bloodied and it’s so tanky that you’re not screwed even if you get detected anyway.
Great guide! I have a full set of both covert scout and secret service and switch depending of if I wanna be sneaky or not. Always keep a jetpack ss torso in my inventory if I need it.
This is the video I requested thanks for covering it. You forgot to cover the arctic marine armor though. Personally I am stuck with secret service due to extremely bad RNG (and jetpack is a must), only just managed to get full unyielding +1 INT set.
Question about sneak Turtle… with full set or unyielding at low heath and Agility over 30, does the shadowed effect (or double shadowed for that matter) provide a noticeable benefit? I run low health stealth commando and I don’t even need Sneak, just Escape Artist and enemies almost never detect me. However my Agility is over 30 always. Asking as the benefit you highlight for the Covert Scout Armor is not really a benefit in this case (or is it still?). Thanks Turtle! Your knowledge is always appreciated! 🙌🏼
not gonna lie ever since I went PA heavy guns build, I never ever ever walked outside my PA suit again like literally iron man but I do still wear chinese stealth suit inside, for that quick stealth moment if I eject outside my PA, plus that armor is very light and consist only of one part when you jump into a PA
Lol, I'm the opposite, ever since I went commando, I ditched the power armor and have never put it back on (I do have an alt that is full health with a VE90 gat plas that uses PA though ... but its more of a weapons Mule for me than a character I use regularly)
It would be nice if Bethesda put jet pack mod on all torso armors that way where ever ever you go on the map you can switch your amor set depending on the enemy
I have 2 end game sets that I switch between. If I'm going sneak, I run with Covert Armor, shadow, unyielding with AP and WWR. If I'm running around with Legacies and not worrying about sneak, it's Secret Service Unyielding with Ultra Light, Jet Pack, AP, WWR mix
@@Floridarollin weapons weight reduction. It's the only weight based perk that stacks, so if you have all 5 pieces with WWR, you can run around with an arsenal of weapons and they basically weigh nothing
I hear from some people that get a full unyielding set of SS would be cheaper then the BOS one because takes less legendary modules. That can be true if you disregard 2nd and 3rs star but in my case I'm chasing WWR so not sure if I should keep rolling BOSs or not.
I know I am late to the video by a year, but that is the coolest mask I have seen thus far and REALLY want to know where it’s from or how to get it. Even just the name of it would be awesome :) oh and btw your guides and knowledge are fantastic. I also love that you are very honest about all weapons/armor which is very appreciated because some things are better than others but you leave the decision on what to use up to us ❤ 0:37
I rolled a full set of uny arctic marine. It costs way more than secret service and provides less dr. I wear it none the less despite having a full set of uny secret service, too. Endgame to me doesn't mean to have always the best but sometimes to have rarer stuff you have to do a harder grind for. For my lvl 540 berserker i still roll lvl1 leather and wood armor to get perfect sets, thats endgame to me too 😅
I agree with your mindset that everyone has a different ideal endgame armor set. I mainly play a lazy high health heavy gunner build but did play a low health nonstealth commando build for a while to level up from about 200 to 300. But now I'm over level 500 and don't care about leveling up. I have a mix of unyielding BOS/SSA but don't really benefit from it. I don't solo SBQ or Earle so high damage output doesn't matter as much to me anymore since there's always several other players dishing out damage too at those events. Just for something fun to do I'm chasing a Hellcat Bolsteing set of PA to run low health with emergency protocols. I'm always spamming stimpacks too since I always seem to pick up so many of them. We all do different things to keep the game interesting enough to play it.
I think most important part of armor are legendary efects. I have Uny/AP/WWR Secret Service set and with same legendary efects urban scout set and i don't see that much difrences. Only downside of my scout armor is that i can't use jetpack.
I prefer Secret Service Armor over others on my Stealth Commando for 2 reasons. That being the Jetpack and the high rad resist. With Unyielding I'm already plenty stealthy and pretty much never get caught, and the almost 300 rad resist really helps with traversing areas with ambient radiation, such as the Toxic Valley.
Hello all. My end game config is always Excavaychor (jetpack) and Vampire FFR flamer (Earle) or AA FFR Ultracite Gatling Laser (SBQ). All my weapons are FFR. I use veggie food buffs and psychobuff. My non-power armor is secret service, which I agree looks dumb even with cammo, but I like the helmet. Before I got secserv, I used BOS combat armor. I really liked the way it looked. I am full health (never bloodied) and never use vats. I have always played this way and yes, I can snipe headshots (handmade/medium night vision scope)! It's fun!
Unyielding brotherhood recon and overeaters t-60 brotherhood outcast is where I'm at with my main uses mostly heavy weapons, but also rifles/bows and shotguns (single commando or bow perk). Got Unyielding secret service ghillied with the buttressed or whatever the top damage resistance one is. That one is currently on display in my base.
I'm going to stick with my heavy combat armor. Only have 2 legendary effects to make a perfect set with all effects I want and no random ones. I don't think I want to start all over again after years of grind to get what I have.
Use SS +1 Int as my daily. For the last few months been rolling Covert scout, and as you'd expect...it's going horribly lol. 1 usable piece after going though over 1000 legendary modules.
I spent enough time crafting my full set of USSA. I use it on my heavy guns non pa build but i also like to run a stealth commando loadout. I feel like it works well for both builds. I even bought the useless helmet..
I was hoping to find out what kind of armor people are wearing so they aren't dying every 10 seconds in Daily Ops with armor piercing mutation. I'm using the tanky Brotherhood Recon set, and I seldom die outside of DO. In DO though, I'm so squishy that I'm afraid someone will name a wine after me. Please enlighten me immortals!
I'm finding more and more with tank builds that the set doesn't really matter. Once DR/ER reaches 450ish it's a threshold of diminishing returns. That number is easily reached with pretty much any armor pieces plus tanking perks. What's more important to tank builds is damage REDUCTION. IE: Sentinel, Cavaliers, Assassin's, Hunter's, etc. You just have to find the right combination of reduction effects to fit your playstyle. That being said, chestpeice needs a jet pack. lol
I have a full chameleon set of Secret Service armour. In my opinion, they need to introduce a set that's over and above what we already have in game, for those of us long time players who want to grind for a better set of armour. I've been wearing my armour for a very long time now.
I finished my SS set on my main, now I am rolling solar on my shotgun medic, thorn for my unarmed melee, recon scout on my commando and starting a set of bos on my main!
I went for FSA set. simply bc you can trade for what you want. I rolled SS for a long time and didn't get anything near what I wanted so I decided to go trade and had a uny/ap FSA set with 2x wwr within a week.
when I was still playing I would use a full set of heavy Combat armor (Bos) with the blood-washed paint, wetsuit/Bos officer underarmor, and yellow fasnacht beret. was the best look i'd ever had in a fallout game.
Probably a stupid question, but can I wear the secret service chest piece/torso (whatever its called) with my other scout set? Need a jetpack without having to have power armour.
Same! I really hate that the plans for heavy aren't easily obtainable. Also, if you count it as part of the set, I like how the Assaultron helmet opens up when you put away your weapon
@@starblade876 yeah, i only had the plans for the torso and the legs i think, i got the arm pieces as random legendaty drops i think. also i was using a sentrybot helmet since it fit more with the heavy armor
I'll just stick to my heavily duped uny ap sent scout armor, with an uny ap fall damage secret service chest for when I want to jet pack. Which is most the time. The secrete service looks better with camo and helmet, can't believe you haven't bought it by now, I just did it after I ran out of everything else to buy.
@Prince Julius Actually the scout mask counts as a fifth piece of scout armor for funky duds/sizzling style if you are missing one other piece. Probably a bug, a nice one.
I went with brotherhood recon. I need to be able to tank hits, so as you said, I rock grounded with it and a lot of other perks like barbarian and such. I am a melee build and have a total of 610 physical def 490 energy and 550 rads resistance and need all of it
I for a long time have been using a SS chest with scout armor limbs; if I had funky duds / such I would need a spare chest to swap to for that, but normally the total resistance of the combination is good, while the benefits of the limbs are the legendary effects, stealth, and light weight. I already carry a couple of spare chests; one with a bit of poison resist and one ultralight ap refresh with my jetpack mod on it. I do want to slowly transition to covert scout. If I ever get funky duds in the mean time, apparently all the scout-based armors should be interchangeable. I also carry the chinese stealth armor around, and actually the resistance once you use appropriate perks and mutations is good enough oftentimes but the lack of legendary effects is killer once you have a full set of something good to compare to. Pretty sure against most enemies you can sneak better with a super high agility and shadowed, but it's not much worse if at all, and the extra effects are better than nothing.
Stealth for now because I don't have a full set of unyielding. It is decent when I try to help with SBQ. I don't fight her enough to have as solid feel for the stealth suit. But it is decent for just about any adventures. Just not ideal for optimizing damage dealt.
i have had (had) allot of success stealthing in The Pitt missions, while wearing the Chinese Stealth Armor. Against the Fanatics. I could even get right above and or right next to them unseen wearing the CSA. But, i discovered, that if i attacked with any other weapon other than a bow, the Fanatics could; somehow, zero right in on my hidden location. Even a crossbow would alert the Fanatics and their Protectrons as to where i was hiding. As would suppressed-explosive weaponry. What's more, the Trogs immediately found me, wherever i tried to use stealth against them, while wearing the CSA... On the plus side, if i used the Hallucinagenic Grenades and Phantom Device against the Fanatics, i could get them to attack, and or kill one another. Even the Fanatics's Protectrons would attack the Fanatics!
@@michaelclarke6439 I have a set of unyielding armor now. It helps to level I guess. I still have not been to do anything at the PITT. Your stealth experiences there are interesting. I think if I ever go there, I'll bring stealth stuff as well.
the Secret Service is the most economic when repairing (super cheap to repair/ maintain) my main has full unyielding Secrete service, my BOS guy has full uyielding BOS Recon, my Enclave character has full unyielding covert scout set. the covert scout was the most difficult and least effective (same AR ratings as the urban and forest) and pretty costly in repairs i was working on a solar set but after the experience of the covert scout AR rating i stopped bothering.
Like many other, secret service armor is overall the best choice. If I plan on going stealth, I just switch one of my arm armor with a shadowed leather arm and I'm good to go for most situations.
@@mikeburgess1688 My main is still a stealthy shotgun build, so I get very close to the enemy. I use this setup without any problem on a bloodied build with all the stealth related perks and legendary perks. Even Earle is easy, solo or with a group. Stealth combat shotgun is extremely deadly, but I wish they would increase the overall range of shotguns. Because of this setup, I can switch easy to a gauss shotgun, or anything crazy like grenade launcher, enclave plasma, railway rifle, or even pepper shaker with VATS.
@@mikeburgess1688 Yep, I made multiple loadouts and saved them. For most mobs though, it can be enough to just switch to tanky perks, especially with the auto grenade launcher, the gameplay transition feels smooth. The only thing that you need to sort out is the ammo management since you get to use many ammo types this way.
I have a question, does the chameleon armor show or hide when you have a wardrobe equipped? Because the secret service yes, although I have not tried it with the mask
i'm kinda new to the game (lvl 60) and i'm interested in bloodied stealth commando build 'cause i have a fixer and handmade plans so for me the best armor possible would be unyielding set of secret-service armor
I'm working on a full set of unyielding sentinels/Cavalier thorn armor. In the meantime I'm using regular scout armor unyielding sentinels. I have 2 pieces of unyielding Cavalier I mix in at times.
I am using combat armor because i like how it looks...also my character is build like stealth tank...almost impossible to detect with 600+ for balistic, energy and radiation resistance
I’ve had SS armour for as long as it’s been available and it is getting broken fast in events such as Atlantic City so fast you run out of repair kits. So I’m finding stealth armour or broken stealth armour with vampire enclave flamer is miles above the SS armour. I nuke and need that help with Brotherhood which I’ve never had but seems be be the tank build
Something I've found with Thorn Armor is I don't think it can be rolled with Chameleon effect. I have a sniper that has been wearing it since I got the plans doing Vault 94 runs. I've rolled at least 200 and have never once got Chameleon. That said, he also uses a Fixer and he can be shooting enemies standing right next to him and never leave caution.
Hey, thank you for the insight on the different armors. I am not an experienced player that knows the nuance's of things, like what would be good legendary abelites for armor. There just so many decent choices like.
My endgame armor is regular scout armor because I can trade other players for perfect rolls, and then I use an SS Jetpack and a scout mask as the scout mask counts as a piece of scout armor for funky duds/sizzling style. I have multiple thorn sets on a mule, unless you only solo bosses all day with a melee build it’s not for you.
SS for me, great all around stats and I love the Rad Resist. When I do Earl, just before he dies I get rid of all my rad's and I can stand in nuke zone getting my rad's back without dying.
Im fine with Chinese stealth suit. I don't play bloody and if I'm playing stealth the game is either forcing me or I'm bored. PA and Gatling Plasma is my go to.
Secret Servise visually makes sense; It covers groin and all. Also if you wear the ss helemt it makes it look better. It fits perfectly; a synthetic heavy armor. Try it , SS with s helmet looks cool. if you get accustomed to it wearing the Recon armor looks like wearing scrap armor :P
Here's the question. I have 5 pieces of normal marine armor with unyielding sentinels and faster AP refresh. Would a set of this "end game" stuff even be better unless I somehow got 3 years of perfect rolls in 1 day? Like in a lot of cases don't the legendary effects matter more than the specific set it's on?
@@annieway35 Could you possibly explain why, how? I mean a 75% chance to reduce damage by 75% has to make up for a lot in base resistance? 5 pieces of AP refresh means Dodgy can always be active. I don't see how a little higher base resistance would beat that and "yes" doesn't convince me.
@@SecretlySeven My "yes" refers to perhaps trying for a set of unyielding secret service armor in the long run would be better than a full unyielding sentinels. But, if your marine sentinels works well and has good legendary effects then you probably aren't in a hurry to roll for a bunch of BOS or SS armor mods. I'm not a PA user, so secret service was the only non-power armor with a jet pack. I obtained the SS armor specifically for the jet pack, once you go jet pack it's hard to go back. Based on my end game experience: I use a full set of unyielding secret service armor, some pieces have AP refresh, others poison protectection. I mainly rolled for unyielding. I have a lot of legendary modules saved up and already had two pieces of unyielding from pervious rolls (and was okay with that) then one day I decided to re-roll to see if I could get unyielding. It took about 15-20 rolls and the weird thing was, once I rolled one unyielding, the rest of my armor also rolled unyielding. Like the RNG Gods smiled at me. I was afraid to leave my workbench after that! I didn't have to do 3 years of perfect rolls, luckily! I am a commando build and I do sneak around a lot and I've been using the secret service armor for at least 200 levels now and I'm kind of tanky, kind of steathy. So I guess it depends on your playstyle, your personal supply of legendary modules, if you want to use a jet pack without power armor, damage resistance, etc. I mean, I'm not best player, I don't one-shot enemies, I sometimes die in a boss fight or daily ops, but I don't care as long as I'm having a good time!
I have a SS Vanguard Commando build . My gun is bloodied explosive handmade . I think the SS armor in general is stronger than all . I run ironclad and that barbarian perk from strength . Rn I’m missing right arm and the chest piece and I have over 500 bal resistance, over 550 energy resistance (grounded included) and like 150 rad resistance . Also have the shielded SS under armor . I may not kill as fast as a like a uny set but I’m telling u the vanguard set is Tanky . My gun is strong it’s just that it’s a one shot automatic explosive handmade it’s not the two shot version I want .
Thanx 🐢 i must confess I didn't even know that solar and thorn are not PA 😂😂 I use since it came into game the secret service with 5 X *** unyielding and jetpack I wouldn't change that for a million caps or gold ...I love it ...I was so excited when it was said they bring a power armor option with unyielding but understood that they couldn't it would have been much to powerful 😇 and I don't like complete overpowered armor or even bader weapon ... yesterday a guy with a legacy killed the queen that fast only he and his team could loot...I have no problem if someone wants to play this boring style but then go private server and leave us in peace playing..thanx to turtle 🐢 I love his vids which helped a lot too become +500 level player
I'm a SS guy as well. Mostly because Brotherhood Recon has no paint options. Three of my four characters are rocking the full set, including the helmet & the fourth needs the helmet
Chinese stealth armor is my choice to wear, being someone who wears power armor. It's only 1 item. Decent enough protection for being 1 item. I just wish I could wear apparel over it, but I'm usually in power armor anyways.
Turn out being legendary thing isn’t that big a deal not really because the only way you’re gonna wear this suit is if you’re not a power armor player to go into New zones and it’s going to give you resistance in addition to the radiation reduction or if you’re always going to be stealthy where is far superior to any other stealth ability I mean you can even use your Pip boy light while stealth when you
three points in stealth card maxes out stealth, or it used to. Putting on a full set of wood armour (same effect as covert stealth) never increased the stealthiness. My friend and I tested it against ghouls, and I was no more stealthy than he was. So, question, is covert stealth any better? Has anyone actually done a proper test? Because I was sure wood armour was working until we tested it against cards only...
I'm actually in a dilemma since I'm aways away from end game armor , I'm trying to choose armor but there isn't really any info on reg armor . I'm trying to figure out if I should use urban/forest scout armor or stick with my shadowed combat armor .for a sneak build
I have been working on my covert scout unyielding set since your first video on it. I have one leg left to make unyielding and one to Reroll to get better second and third stars. But I’m now considering rolling a solar armor set for a medic build.
I’m pretty sure the Chinese stealth armor actually has like 99% or 98 something like that it’s higher anyway than power armor it’s the same as other radiation service it almost negates all incoming radiation
I have tried them all. If you are looking for Unyielding Armor, Secret Service makes it the easiest to get. I really notice the increased radiation resistance, especially when you throw Nuka Grenades a lot. . I don’t need any of the stealth bonuses the other armors give because my high agility makes me near invisible. I always carry the Chinese Stealth suit and the Secret Service, Shielded Vault, and Casual Underarmors, as need be.
The under armor your wearing dramatically changes how armor fits on your character, so give those "bulky" armors a try... just change your under armor first.
@ladenswallow09 The armor will mesh according to the surface of the under armor, for example while wearing secret service armor the BOS operator suit has wires on the shoulders that make your shoulders bigger. Another example is when you wear army fatigues you will look WAY Chunkier then if you wear literally any other under armor, this is because the fatigues fit loose around the characters body. However if you wear outfits 100% of the time having better stats will ultimately better for you. I personally noticed that light combat armor and fatigues is actually a pretty dope look, top it off with an army helmet and you will like a pre war soldier. Tip for secret service armor enjoyers, secret service under armor is the best for secret service armor because it's the only one that doesn't stretch your torso armor.
What about a non stealth bloodied build? I use a plasma caster atm. Couple of bullions layin around, i need a better armor. Hate do die if enemies just look at me :D in this case Maybe BOS armor since i dont use stealth ?
I have that Chinese stealth armor and it says 140 resistance down the line except radiation resistance is 1,000. Yeah I get shot a few times and I'm down. It wasn't like that when I first got it. Not sure what the issue is but even in power armor I get shot a few times and that's it.
maybe the most important part of the chinese stealth amour's effect is that neither shooting nor moving will break it's stealth effect; as long as you are crouching you are invisible. This makes it crazy good for solo'ing.
With that armor, lauching nukes is so easy, even assaultrons can't see me and almost nobody show up during the launch sequence
Jet pack why it’s a waste compared to dense
I don’t think the jet pack is at all useful since when you’re in a team with strange in numbers makes you jump super high.
I view the Chinese Stealth Suit as the best hazmat suit in the game, rather than armour. It's good as a default.
I use mine all the time .... my unyielding with WWR keeps me under weight, but if I need to go into a rad zone or coming out of an Earl fight, I throw on my Chinese stealth suit temporarily

@Jordie St. Richards III 10,000 isn't a lot huh?
walking through the math here. its 10 vault steel per piece, and 1 module. that is 150 scrip each. subtract 24 for recycled pieces. leaving you with 126 per piece.
That's harsh, took me 2-4 rolls per thorn piece to get unyielding and weight reduction on all pieces 🫣 I lucked out big time there!
@@FreedomNeverSurrenders “10k iSnT a LoT durrurrr” that’s you lol, also you got bodied with math lol
Also the biggest drawback of the Chinese stealth armor is you cannot wear outfits on top of it. It’s what stops me from using it.
It looks cool enough for me to not worry about that. My main problem is the inability of rolling legendary effects onto it. I’m too used to wearing ap refresh armor and having a ton of carry weight. But I do carry mine for nuke zones and what not.
which is dumb because you can use stealth boy or cloaking legendary and armor.
@@Zthewisebut cloaking doesnt work when you shoot
I’m stuck using the stealth suit because I’m spoiled by it. With speed demon mutation, I’m basically crouch walking all the time and the mobs will never detect me. So yeah I’ve become a night kin lol.
If you have Escape Artist, you can run in stealth. I'm a newb, so I'm working on SS and Covert Scout armor, but CSA is amazing for stealth commando. It's crazy good for running resources in events.
So if you have the perk and csa you can run and stay invisible?@@lvbuckeye
you should have shown the stats for the covert scout armour with full polymer mods as if you have high agility and full stealth perks you really don't need to go double shadow with it the bonus it grants is more than enough, and with full polymer mods this armor offers crazy high resistances for light armour. So you get the best of both worlds.
Hey! Do you know if is SS armour is viable for stealth commando? I just returned to the game after 2 years and need my endgame armor. I’m leaning towards Covert but Idk
@@mahfkr SS is probably the best for commando/rifleman because it is so easy to get unyielding on, only need 1 legendary module to build and get a 1,2, or 3 star effect

You still rocking this ?
I do use secret service armor with faster ap regeneration and radiation shielding. I'm mostly playing as a commando speed runner tank without stealth, but VATS crit focused. I would like to use power armor, but i have my food and drinks carry perks on a backpack. As soon as i enter power armor, my weight quadruples and i don't want to make my special loadout full of carry perks...
I want to like the Stealth Armor, but the invisibility makes it a headache to aim properly in first person. I have to use 3rd to see where I'm hitting.
Use Vats! You're in stealth. ;)
I've been wearing a perfect set of bos combat armor I crafted years ago. It's all gourmand ap refresh and sentinel. Took me almost two years to get all the pieces and I can't be bothered to roll ss armor.
I went with a full set of Vanguards AP Refresh BOS Recon Armor. And I use a Junkies Exp 25 Handmade. It's a really good stealth/tank build.

it does make a difference, how noticeable it's subjective everyone has different experience
not gonna lie ever since I went PA heavy guns build, I never ever ever walked outside my PA suit again like literally iron man
but I do still wear chinese stealth suit inside, for that quick stealth moment if I eject outside my PA, plus that armor is very light and consist only of one part when you jump into a PA

Uny/ap/wwr set? Where on average you have to roll 8000times 3 star to get one piece? Hacker.
The strangler armors should have natural poison resistance as a bonus.
It's fun!
A RARE BREED - full health build. Thanks for sharing the weapons and legendary effects.
Legendary crafting is so horrible. Tbh they should remove some effects from the game entirely.
I just use BOS combat armour. The unyielding set gives 370 DR/ER and the bolstering set gives around 570 DR/ER.
That being said, chestpeice needs a jet pack. lol

Just a piece of advice, if you mix a set you can't use cards that require you to have a full set of armor, like Funky Duds.

Pretty sure against most enemies you can sneak better with a super high agility and shadowed, but it's not much worse if at all, and the extra effects are better than nothing.
who needs armor, when you have a good Vampire weapon?
Theoretically there is no chance to reach the end game. The question is not which armor to choose but what you have.
I think if I ever go there, I'll bring stealth stuff as well.
the Secret Service is the most economic when repairing (super cheap to repair/ maintain)
my main has full unyielding Secrete service,
my BOS guy has full uyielding BOS Recon,
my Enclave character has full unyielding covert scout set.
the covert scout was the most difficult and least effective (same AR ratings as the urban and forest) and pretty costly in repairs
i was working on a solar set but after the experience of the covert scout AR rating i stopped bothering.
My sneaky rifle/commando build, I am working on SS armor(just need legs now) AND I carry chinese stealth for radiation protection and stealth.
Like many other, secret service armor is overall the best choice. If I plan on going stealth, I just switch one of my arm armor with a shadowed leather arm and I'm good to go for most situations.
Interesting. What distance are you engaging the enemy at, and with what type weapon? Interesting for an everyday setup maybe.
@@OpticalGreen When you make those weapon changes, do you swap out your special cards load out? This sounds like an interesting setup.
@@OpticalGreen See, I need to play with some folks. I've got so much to work on and learn still.
Design-wise I always liked the Trapper Armour
my melee character has the brotherhood recon armor, it looks so good
I’ve had SS armour for as long as it’s been available and it is getting broken fast in events such as Atlantic City so fast you run out of repair kits.
My choice is marine armor cuz early in the game I got ap refresh and weapon weight reduction on all the pieces
I've been considering switching from ss to bos, with my unyielding bloody build the only thing I really still die to is some crazy explosion
I have multiple thorn sets on a mule, unless you only solo bosses all day with a melee build it’s not for you.
how do you transfer the thorn set with your mule?
I don’t transfer them, you can’t do that. I was saying I use thorn armor on a different character and it’s very niche
@@reggiewatts7728 ok ty
SS for me, great all around stats and I love the Rad Resist. When I do Earl, just before he dies I get rid of all my rad's and I can stand in nuke zone getting my rad's back without dying.
Im fine with Chinese stealth suit. I don't play bloody and if I'm playing stealth the game is either forcing me or I'm bored. PA and Gatling Plasma is my go to.
I think you missed one. the mystery quest armor is the best looking endgame armor for me as a berserk stealth melee range heavy mix build 👍
The best power armor is the hellcat hands down, Once its been modified its stronger than the t65 it has very high resistance to dmg
Yes.
My gun is strong it’s just that it’s a one shot automatic explosive handmade it’s not the two shot version I want .
i have been using covert scout for the limbs and then keeping my ss for chest peice so i can keep my jetpack all unyielding
I'm still useing heavy combat armor with the bos paint it's been working since I got it around lanch
Chinese stealth armor is my choice to wear, being someone who wears power armor. It's only 1 item. Decent enough protection for being 1 item. I just wish I could wear apparel over it, but I'm usually in power armor anyways.
Covert scout armour looks cool. I get that Splinter cell vibe from it
Turn out being legendary thing isn’t that big a deal not really because the only way you’re gonna wear this suit is if you’re not a power armor player to go into New zones and it’s going to give you resistance in addition to the radiation reduction or if you’re always going to be stealthy where is far superior to any other stealth ability I mean you can even use your Pip boy light while stealth when you
three points in stealth card maxes out stealth, or it used to. Putting on a full set of wood armour (same effect as covert stealth) never increased the stealthiness. My friend and I tested it against ghouls, and I was no more stealthy than he was. So, question, is covert stealth any better? Has anyone actually done a proper test? Because I was sure wood armour was working until we tested it against cards only...
wood was always broken
I'm actually in a dilemma since I'm aways away from end game armor , I'm trying to choose armor but there isn't really any info on reg armor . I'm trying to figure out if I should use urban/forest scout armor or stick with my shadowed combat armor .for a sneak build
combat armor is good
I have been working on my covert scout unyielding set since your first video on it. I have one leg left to make unyielding and one to Reroll to get better second and third stars.
But I’m now considering rolling a solar armor set for a medic build.
I wonder why they added arctic marine armor if it does not compete with the end game options since you have to grind so long to get it?
im guessing its to add a static frost resistance set into the game. we will see. marine armor has always been terribly underpowered
Do tell! How does the underarmor make your other armor behave different?
Question where do I get the scout armor helet
daily ops
What about a non stealth bloodied build? I use a plasma caster atm. Couple of bullions layin around, i need a better armor. Hate do die if enemies just look at me :D in this case Maybe BOS armor since i dont use stealth ?
Unpainted SS does look a bit ugh but it really pops with the Red Viper paint.
have all but one arm in covert scout unyielding ap sneak. I have never been on when it was sold and no luck in dialy ops
I wear a mix of arctic marine, urban scout, and robot. Looks cool without any apparel on 👌
I have that Chinese stealth armor and it says 140 resistance down the line except radiation resistance is 1,000. Yeah I get shot a few times and I'm down. It wasn't like that when I first got it. Not sure what the issue is but even in power armor I get shot a few times and that's it.
