Got a full set of brotherhood recon with overeaters and I love it, perfect for my junkies tank build, damn near impossible to kill. Reckon it looks better than secret service too.
Unyielding. With a low-health build bloodied weapons will be devastating, and your luck and agility will be so high you can critmax and be nearly undetectable in any situation even without cloaking.
Leather Armor is really great in the beginning as you can quickly unlock all mods that can be learned by crafting and scrapping level 1 light leather arms. You get most of the materials back by scrapping them and I think the Armorer perk rank 2 can even fully prevent ressource loss. After that instead of using your caps to buy the plans for heavy armor, I would just travel to player camps and buy legendary armors. Longterm Secret Service Armor is still the best as it has the best stats, it has a jetpack and you can craft them easily with just one legendary module per craft. The Brotherhood recon armor has slightly more DR but overall the Secret Service armor has better stats. The new civil engineer armor can be nice as you can trade it with a jetpack und the slower weapon break helps, but as it has no good stats you want to switch it out later on.
I liked a lot that solar armor or how it is (one with healing set bonus), I actually would use it over secret service one, if it had jetpack and if it could be rerolled as for some reason it cant (or at least when I had it couldnt be rerolled), since I go with full health, it was quite fine thing for me, now I may try to switch to engineer armor, I am lazy to craft it, so I wait for last piece I am missing to drop from something, then I will see if it is worth of rerolling stars on it or if I return to secret service, because slower weapon breaking sounds just so great on its own
SS armor been around since wastelanders, they need to come out with newer and better armors. Was hoping for new top teir armor with the atlantic city patch.
Secret Service armor is worth the effort. Disregard all other ones. Finished my set a long time ago, right before reaching level 70 and for several hundred levels, that hasn't left my skin and probably never will.
For me its BOS it has the most common resistance and the difference between both sets min maxed on energy assuming scaly skin mutation is 1% Secret Service and on ballistic 2% difference in BOS favour (so lets face it aside from looks they are pretty much on par calculated with gear calc a 250 ballistic 250 energy single hit, a hit like that dont exist in game) Secret service will be the majority's go to because of how easy it is to get however with that said however if you want something alittle nicer to show off your hard work go BOS
I like the BOS recon because it took me soooooo long to grind all the pieces. To top it off I have the OTHER bos recon helmet so I get a flashlight, any armor with a light and jet pack mod is a win for me.
Do u have the sturdy frame perk? I’m just wondering cuz I started a new play through with an actual plan on a semi auto rifle build I’m doing, and I used nukes dragon to plan out my perk cards and I got it down bat but I wanna make changes wherever I can for my strength, like looking at this armor I’m definitely gonna get when I’m mid-end game, so I want more carry weight, do u think it’s worth maxing out strong back or keeping my sturdy frame perk? Or maybe should I balance them both out? but I want a lot of carry weight, would love a second opinion
Not sure if it's still the case but you could also use the SS chest with covert scout limbs and mask and benefit from the stealth bonus but also have access to the jetpack.
I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but the merchant bot in Grafton (or the Grafton Train Station merchant) do not have the BoS plans whenever I visit. I've server hopped many times now and the plans are never there. I am over level 50 but still working through the main quest. Is there something I need to do before the BoS plans show up? p.s thanks for all the vids!
I just crafted full set of BoS Heavy Combat armor and dont have the same stats as on screen? Mine are 234 bullet 0 fire 272 energy and 3 rad. What am I missing MrWestTek?
For Sneaky Commando The best is Covert Scout Armour For Less Sneak Commando Secret Service Amour *But for the beginner BOTSMITH and Brotherhood Scout also good
Question, is the gauss shotgun still worth it? I’ve been getting back into the game after a few years and always wanted to go a gauss shotgun build but never got it, should I still try making that build or is that not a good idea for end game at all
For all of these plans that can be bought with Gold Bars can ANY of them be found in the world (aka not purchase/traded from a vendor)? I still haven't beaten the game yet (currently low lvl 30's). Can't wait til I can get that Stealth Armor though. ;D
I recently picked up a full set of solar armor on my charisma/support build and it's definitely interesting. I think people often underestimate the set bonuses in favor of dr. But if you're skilled at avoiding damage, you don't need to be as tanky and set bonuses become more valuable. 4hp/s doesn't sound like much, but it's constantly active even in combat and stacks with itself...so multiple teammates can run it for even more healing. Even solo, you still get the healing, and with a quick firing vampire weapon and rolling for overeater's you rapidly become a beast of a health regen tank. Just something to consider.
So i'm new to the game but there is something i don't undrestand with the stat you are showing, i have 100 less DR and ER than you and no flame resistance with BoS combat armor at level 50, do i need some perk or other thing to have the same value?
Dear Mr. WestTek I have a question on Unyielding SS armor: Do all the pieces stack Special stats? as in if you have a full set of unyielding, you would add +15 to all special stats? You should do a whole video explaining what buffs stack with what and what buffs don't. This is an aspect of the game I'm really puzzled about.
My rng is top tier i got 4 out of 5 unyield ss in one evening. And for the right arm i just use unyielding forest scout till i make or find one. (Ill probably craft it before i find it) I do miss the fire resistance and -weapon weight on one of rhe replacements :( if i could have unyielding and those two. So good. Fire perk plus two fire resistant armour slots and flames are no longer painful. Only thing that really gets me now is a sneaky melee
I think my only issue with the new armour is that if you go max out the damage resistance and go ultra light for mod- it has very small condition bar and it kind of feels brittle cause I have to repair it constantly
@@Poke-ladd Isn't there a perk card that makes it so you can...not sure what to call it..."over repair/fix" armor? Maybe I'm getting it confused with just making armor but I thought I saw/read somewhere that you could make it so armor your repaired had more durability then it's cap. If I'm wrong I apologize..but if I'm right and you have the card/perk points definitely equip it when you repair. Should help you out with that "brittle" armor issue. :D
@@MTGPlayer10 Yeah, i believe it's called "Fix it Good", allows you to repair armor and power armor to 200% condition at level 3. Edit: "Fix it Good" allows you to repair armor and power armor to 130%/160%/200% condition at level 1/2/3 respectively. There is also a perk that works with how you described which is "armorer" which by description "Your crafted armor has improved durability" at level 3, level 2 reduces crafting costs, and level 1 lets you craft advanced armor mods. Another useful perk card is the "Power Patcher" card, this one makes your power armor break 20%/40%/60% slower and is cheaper to repair at level 1/2/3 respectively. I know this is about armor but I thought I'd throw in 1 more perk card called "Weapon Artisan", this works the same way as fix it good however it's for weapons, so for this one you can repair weapons to 130%/160%/200% at level 1/2/3 respectively. All of these perk cards are under intelligence and at max level each one will require 3 points of intelligence to equip. Hope this helps!
Would it be possible for you to make a video ranking the various armours by how stealthy they are? I'm a big fan of the look of a mix of light/sturdy combat armour and hope to keep using it for the endgame. It's protection definitely is outmoded by other options, so I'm hoping it's stealth at least somewhat redeems it 😅.
Secret service doesn't use ballistic fibre. But instead it uses asbestos. Asbestos is less rare, not super common but common enough that it makes me smile I made that upgrade yesterday
Camp McClintock has four ammo pouches which scrap for ballistic fiber. One on the counter in the main room, on in a locker on the opposite side, one in the APC near the barracks, and one in the barracks itself.
Hey Ty for the video , I crafted the heavy combat amour with brother hood mods on. (Lvl 50) but my stats are only 226 ballistic / energy 301 and no others. Did I do something wrong ?
Secret service takes a couple weeks if you hit the trade cap daily just to unlock the pieces. Civil Engineer takes a just a questline to get the full set.
You can get BoS heavy armor for free without having to buy plans by farming the 2 guards up the road from wayward. Rinse and repeat. Most the time its sturdy but they drop a ton of the BoS style to

Westek is definitely the best fallout 76 youtuber
Watched you yesterday very helpfull peace out
Got a full set of brotherhood recon with overeaters and I love it, perfect for my junkies tank build, damn near impossible to kill. Reckon it looks better than secret service too.
Brotherhood Recon looks the best imo
Thanks for sharing this info.
My pleasure
Hi, thanks for the video. What are the best attributes to have for secret service armour when using a sneaky commando character build?
Unyielding. With a low-health build bloodied weapons will be devastating, and your luck and agility will be so high you can critmax and be nearly undetectable in any situation even without cloaking.
No Civil Engineer Set, i swear everyone forgets it exists.
It sucks
nobody forgetting it exists it's literally brand new ive seen a ton of player using it
Leather Armor is really great in the beginning as you can quickly unlock all mods that can be learned by crafting and scrapping level 1 light leather arms.
I liked a lot that solar armor or how it is (one with healing set bonus), I actually would use it over secret service one, if it had jetpack and if it could be rerolled as for some reason it cant (or at least when I had it couldnt be rerolled), since I go with full health, it was quite fine thing for me, now I may try to switch to engineer armor, I am lazy to craft it, so I wait for last piece I am missing to drop from something, then I will see if it is worth of rerolling stars on it or if I return to secret service, because slower weapon breaking sounds just so great on its own
Im just stumbling around out there in my stolen BoS bits and pieces, and now i have to get some of these things.
SS armor been around since wastelanders, they need to come out with newer and better armors. Was hoping for new top teir armor with the atlantic city patch.
Just rebalance BOS Recon Armor to up it's base DT maybe give it a set bonus against abominations (mutants, ghouls, scorched and cryptids)
Wish we could scrap them for the paint job so people can wear op armor but flex those cues I dig the metal armor
Secret Service armor is worth the effort. Disregard all other ones. Finished my set a long time ago, right before reaching level 70 and for several hundred levels, that hasn't left my skin and probably never will.
i crafted a full set off SS but my stats aren't like yours. mine are 342, 312, 322. is it because i might not have the best rolls on the sets?
no its cause he probably has perk cards and mutations buffing them
For me its BOS it has the most common resistance and the difference between both sets min maxed on energy assuming scaly skin mutation is 1% Secret Service and on ballistic 2% difference in BOS favour (so lets face it aside from looks they are pretty much on par calculated with gear calc a 250 ballistic 250 energy single hit, a hit like that dont exist in game)
Secret service will be the majority's go to because of how easy it is to get however with that said however if you want something alittle nicer to show off your hard work go BOS
Cost to roll God roll sets is the main factor why ss is preferable imo.
1 module vs multiple modules and cores
👍💯
I love the look of the sturdy combat armor, but the helmet eludes me!!! I hit like 9 helmet spawns and got bandanas!
I like the BOS recon because it took me soooooo long to grind all the pieces. To top it off I have the OTHER bos recon helmet so I get a flashlight, any armor with a light and jet pack mod is a win for me.
Jet packs are only available on the secret service, brotherhood recon and civil engineer armors.
Covert scout armor still gets the stealth bonus if you’re wearing the mask and a jet pack torso from another armor type.
This will help me alot thanks. Could you do a vid on how to make a Jetpack and the process on gathering the items required. Thx again
3k+ views and only 300 likes? Come on peeps, let's show Mr WestTek more love and smash that like button! 😊 He provides us all with great content! ❤
LOL I feel blessed as it is, don't encourage them 🤣
Tysm wes keep it up❤🎉
I will 😁
Not sure if it's still the case but you could also use the SS chest with covert scout limbs and mask and benefit from the stealth bonus but also have access to the jetpack.
2.8K Likes , deserves a million.
Thanks for the info. Have fun
I just crafted full set of BoS Heavy Combat armor and dont have the same stats as on screen? Mine are 234 bullet 0 fire 272 energy and 3 rad. What am I missing MrWestTek?
For Sneaky Commando
The best is Covert Scout Armour
For Less Sneak Commando
Secret Service Amour
*But for the beginner
BOTSMITH and Brotherhood Scout also good
finally! Holy molly ima go get the Leather armor cause i have no caps right now thank you!
Question, is the gauss shotgun still worth it? I’ve been getting back into the game after a few years and always wanted to go a gauss shotgun build but never got it, should I still try making that build or is that not a good idea for end game at all
A metal chest, 1 metal limb, and 3 leather limbs will put you over 260 resistance for both physical and energy dmg
Great video! And dam, I knew you were a high level, but almost 30k screw has to be some sort of a crazy achievement, lol.
For all of these plans that can be bought with Gold Bars can ANY of them be found in the world (aka not purchase/traded from a vendor)? I still haven't beaten the game yet (currently low lvl 30's). Can't wait til I can get that Stealth Armor though. ;D
If you want combat armor quick, kill brotherhood members; the two by flat woods are my go to for very low lvls.
I like CSA for its asthetics, but hate thats its daily ops only or wait for minerva
BoS Recon grind is even worse
@@crayonchomper1180 arent they both just rare rewards from ops? Does minerva not sell the plans?
A set of overeater's solar armor isn't to bad you just don't anything for radiation unless you use a legendary perk card.
So i'm new to the game but there is something i don't undrestand with the stat you are showing, i have 100 less DR and ER than you and no flame resistance with BoS combat armor at level 50, do i need some perk or other thing to have the same value?
i thought that the fire resistance might come from legendary perk but i still don't understand for the extra DR and ER
So which of those plans for the SS armor are for just being able to craft the armor? There’s like 30 that say it and idk which to grab
I’m kinda new to the game, is it okay to use SS armour in a sneak commando build
My rng is top tier i got 4 out of 5 unyield ss in one evening. And for the right arm i just use unyielding forest scout till i make or find one. (Ill probably craft it before i find it)
I do miss the fire resistance and -weapon weight on one of rhe replacements :( if i could have unyielding and those two.
Hmm haven't tested it that far. Just go Secret Service lol
Yeah I know SS still beats everything but it is fun to try out new armors
What would you recommend on a bloodied heavy gunner build? (no pa). maybe civil engineer?
if you're doing heavy gunner without PA you're kinda doing it wrong to begin with. Missing out on the stabilized perks.
I need an armor that do not need Ballistic Fiber to be repair lol
Fr the most boring part of the game, making runs for the rarest crafting material just to repair 5 pieces of armor
@@alphaspartanlol
Secret service doesn't use ballistic fibre. But instead it uses asbestos. Asbestos is less rare, not super common but common enough that it makes me smile I made that upgrade yesterday
@@mpb6491 generally you can buy bulk materials like those at Whitesprings Mall
Camp McClintock has four ammo pouches which scrap for ballistic fiber. One on the counter in the main room, on in a locker on the opposite side, one in the APC near the barracks, and one in the barracks itself.
@MrWestTek Hey, how you get 354 physical def on BoS Heavy Armor set? I got it and have only 226 physical def. Regards!
he probably has perk cards and mutations buffing them
Hey Ty for the video
, I crafted the heavy combat amour with brother hood mods on. (Lvl 50) but my stats are only 226 ballistic / energy 301 and no others. Did I do something wrong ?
Civil Engineer armor is probably the armor set you should get first because its free, after that, either the Brotherhood Recon or the Secret Service.
Secret service takes a couple weeks if you hit the trade cap daily just to unlock the pieces. Civil Engineer takes a just a questline to get the full set.
does the chest crafting trick also works for limbs in order to safe cores ?
You can get BoS heavy armor for free without having to buy plans by farming the 2 guards up the road from wayward. Rinse and repeat. Most the time its sturdy but they drop a ton of the BoS style to
What vendor has heavy combat armor plans because I checked all the vendors in white spring and none have it?
I have a question what's that modern rifle your using and how do you get it?
MY SET - BOS armor, UNY on alll pieces that also have 3 wwr and 2 reduced fall damage (no fall damage). Harder to get and harder to roll for legendary mods but youll stand out and look baddass. i use alaskan paint, no apparel on top. Gotta show it off!
What do you use to get all the of damage resistance with the secret service
Heavy combat with bos mods to start for new players. Botsmith always getting neglected but its really solid better then combat and covert, its easier then daily opp armor to collect. Dont neglect botsmith it will carry you mid game untill you get to a point to purchase the recon or secret service, Ad victorium.
other than a low hp build unyielding, what do you want to get?
