      And it wouldn't be too OP because the trade-off for no spoilage is that you aren't carrying it with you... so it only spoils with it on you. And it would also be nice if it wasn't limited to 1, so you could build more if you needed more space. (don't know what the limit is now)

    They could make the refrigerator so much more useful. It would be nice if the fridge combined Good With Salt 3 and Thru Hiker 3. That would be an atomic shop item that would be an all time best seller.

      @@notdeadyet8150 YES! Could work just like the brewing station. Same idea anyway. We put it in our pockets and it will eventually ferment into booze. We put it in a fermenter and it happens fast. Take somethign frozen from the freezer, thaw it out in your pocket for a long time or in a "microwave" or something to have it happen faster. If only ANYONE could think of such a system.
      One day, we will have a chosen one to say to Todd "You know, you guys are really boning people with useless crap that sucks. Have you thought of maybe... Useful stuff that doesn't suck? Just an idea." And Todd will hear him. Then we'll just have useful things to have to overpay for.

    I love the personal terminal, I just wish there was a desktop version. I love the style as it was a historical accurate dumb terminal, I would love a more advanced version where we can send messages to others, leave messages and play various holotapes; maybe even a way to keep all of our holotapes stored there.

      I just wish the personal terminal would list ALL the possible solo daily events instead of just the usual three!
      I LOVE your idea of being able to leave messages for camp owners on these terminals!! Kinda useless doing the "awesome camp" emote, and the owner isn't home and is not on your team.

    • @josho5314
      @josho5314 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      "I.O.U all the gourds in your garden. Sorry"
      I do agree though, especially the holotapes. I have magazine racks in my upper floor, next to my bobblehead stand. Then I have a desk with some plushies and various small items to show off. I would love some sort of holotape or note display. I enjoy collection sets, such as the tales from the West Virginia hills series. I would love something maybe even with unique slots instead of filling it with the 100+ Who goes there pt 2 I've gathered.
      Ideally I would love some sort of la noire/ Nick Valentine detective type room. All holotapes and notes, along with some detective case files for display.
      I would love some sort of message system also, I have always had my camp near the Wayward since I started playing, I really suck when it comes to building and the thought of moving my entire camp and redoing it haunts me. I often leave freebies like stims and radaway from events, low tier ammo etc. I love this community, but I wish we had more in terms of communicating. Barely anyone uses a mic, which isn't a terrible thing, but we need more than just a couple emotes.
      I couldn't imagine anything weirder than being the people below level 30 that I fast travel to from across the map, sporting my stealth armor with a big fuckin sheeps head (not the mascot) from the encrypted event, sprinting towards them and dropping 100 stims and 50 radaway, doing a salute emote, followed by a heart, and then running off into the wastes never to be seen again.
      Again I love the community and how helpful it can be, but outside of reciting a fallout 76 beginners guide from youtube in game, my emotes can't do much to explain the basics of food and water in game, and being aware of diseases, that they should get the bed plans asap because sleeping on the floor can also give diseases.
      I do love this game, and the updates continue to bring me back. But every time we get a new update, I see tonnes of level 1-10 running around near my base, some may be alts sure. But the game really doesn't tell you enough. I played this game with a friend, who hadn't played a fallout game before, the lack of depth when starting is actually overwhelming. When a game requires you to refer to the wiki constantly in your first few days, I think there's definitely more the devs can do to explain wtf is going on. The amount of people I see spawn in, and then run completely the other way of the Wayward. (Idk if that's some kind of alt account meta or if you can skip shit by going straight towards the lumber yard) But I'm sure it can't be a coincidence.
      If you aren't used to the hud, aren't used to markers on the compass, or simple don't look in the corner to see what your quest is, you can have quite a rough start if you simply turn right, without looking left to see the robot or the stairs you're meant to go down.
      The amount of times a fresh player has stumbled into my base, which again is on the river almost right next to the Wayward, but they come to my base and ask what they're supposed to do or how they can start building etc. I then emote follow me and walk them to the Wayward and hope they manage to work it out.
      Sorry for the rant that was much longer than I wanted it to be.
      One final thing, I made a support ticket a couple days back about the Forbidden Knowledge quest and if I had bugged/softlocked it. I explained I had been playing since 2020, after the legacy paint was removed, I have the Knight paint, but in my near 700 hours, doing the quest what feels like at least 200 times, with a supposed 5% drop chance of power armor paint, I never got another piece. So I messaged support about it, and if the paints were indeed still even a drop, that I couldn't afford the near millions of caps some people are asking for them, and that I would go as far as using fallout 1st atoms to pay for it, I just wanted to put my sanity at ease. This is also what we know in the business as foreshadowing.
      The reply I got from them was
      "Thank you for contacting the Bethesda Support Team. I am more than happy to help you purchase these items for 1200 Atoms. Do keep in mind that we are unable to offer items that were available during Events, from Seasons, Fallout 1st or Nuclear Winter retroactively.

      Thank you for your understanding.

      Please let me know when you wish to proceed!

      Warm Regards,
      Bethesda Customer Support"
      Mf didn't answer anything to do with me asking about the quest or the drop rates, if they still exist etc. I'm kind of mad that I can actually just pay real money for the plans I've been trying to get since I first learned they were a thing, I just really love the Elder paint.
      Completely unrelated now and quite a reach. But how far does that go. I was surprised they actually entertained the idea of me using atoms to buy something like power armor plans. If I would potentially get banned for buying these items from another player (irl money I ain't got millions of caps) But Bethesda it just work themselves are fine with me buying it from them. What would the limits be here. I'm also surprised at the price. These mfs selling a patio table and chairs for half the price they'd sell me the plans I've been looking for since day one.
      What's the limits. Plans, camp items. Stuff from the atom store that isn't in the store at the moment I can understand. Could I buy a set of armour. Could I buy a legendary x-01 left leg because I ran out of materials trying to craft my god roll. COULD I BUY A FUCKIN LEGACY BOOM BOOM LASER RIFLE? I'm certain they have to draw the line somewhere. But it would be interesting to know where that line is.

      Would be awesome since we aren't allowed to type to each other yet voice is completely fine?? 76 seems to care about crafting your camps but they don't give us anything else beneficial for it, like you said- leaving messages, maybe how many visitors you get, how long they stay, etc. I like being those camps where the newbies get to experience all the cool perks that boost you from lvl 5 - 50 in a few grinds lol

    TIP: put your expensive fusion generator in a prefab structure (the seedy shed works perfectly for this) so if your camp does get attacked, the enemies will destroy the prefab instead. Then you only have to spend the resources to repair the prefab (which is like a couple of concrete wood or steel) instead of whatever the heck a fusion generator’s repair cost is.
    (Also, I thought you the fusion generator plan for free from doing the various powering up Poseidon type events, along with the other generator plans, like the wind turbine.)
    -I find the makeshift solar panels really useful, I think they produce 5 power, and the crafting ingredients required are a lot easier to come by. Iirc, They don’t need screws or other mats needed for weapon/armor crafting. They’re great if your camp doesn’t need a whole fusion generator to power it.
    Plus, they’re easy to place, have a small footprint, and sort of function as their own power pylon because the connector is elevated enough you can usually avoid cables intersecting errors. Also you can hide them on top of pre-existing power lines, and wire it up to make it look like you’re pulling power from the pole.

    • @okonkwojones
      @okonkwojones 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Artillery is largely useless, but One fun thing about it: I’m 99% sure it’s blast radius is effected by grenadier, and the damage might also be tied to demo expert (it was in 4 at least) so I imagine you could also buff it with that explosive radius magazine and maybe the explosive bobblehead, to just blanket a location with explosions. I once set up my camp in artillery range of a workshop occupied by super mutants. So when I spawned in, The “take workshop” event would trigger, I’d throw my arty grenade into the area, collect a good amount of XP from killing mutants all while sitting and watching fireworks! Then If I felt like it, I’d claim the workshop and farm the defend/retake events for XP, quest rewards, and score.

      As long as you don't place your fusion generator on open ground or near the C.A.M.P. module it should be fine. Remember, attacking mobs spawn near your C.A.M.P. module. If your fusion generator is safely placed inside and protected by walls (and stairs, yeah, stairs -> the end-game boss for NPCs) then you'll have a good time. For my peace of mind I also slap a shotgun turret near the fusion generator, just in case some molerat decides to do the "beam me up Scotty" maneuver.

    • @baleensavage
      @baleensavage 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Solar panels are A tier for me. They don't require gears to craft and are silent. They are the perfect generator for workshops as they won't use up all the workshop scrap so you basically can set up a workshop for free instead of using large generators which will cost you gears.

      @@okonkwojones I have Artillery, Demolition Perk card maxed with double radius explosion perk does have effect as I've tried with and without cards. • @jvazacas
      @jvazacas 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those type of generators are more useful for workshops to power up extractors for resources and advanced turrets to protect them. For camps, unless you are going primitive, you would need too many around the camp taking up build budgets. From my experience, unless you get a nuke dropped where your camp is located, damage doesn't happen that often.

    I stopped using the ammo converter. I felt like that was all I was doing was standing in front of that thing trying to figure out how much I had and which increment would take my ammo in. If they would just change that to take all to an even number, I would use it again. Too time consuming as is.
    I do find if I don't have an ally in my camp it seems to be attacked more often. Maul is the best one. He can fight a death claw and doles out some meat and comics.
    I have to say the weight bench is a must for the weight buff but then again I am a rummage sale addict and have far more guns than I can ever use.

      TBH, I just selected the 2nd largest quantity of each item in turn and then the next largest until it failes . It does take a bit of time, but you don't necessarily need to convert every bit of ammo for it to be worthwhile. If you want to go really fast, you can just select that 2nd largest quantity of ammo on each of them and be done with it relatively quickly.

    1) Corrections for your list:
    - Vintage water cooler - You can not get them from the Treasure Hunter event, you can only get them from the Holiday Scorched event. I replaced all my water purifiers with them as they are small, don't need power and don't have to be placed on the ground. After replacing them I could remove my fusion generator (and its annoying sound).
    2) Missing from the list:
    - Small vault-tec generator - They are very small, stackable and don't make any annoying sound. They are perfect for a vending machine or the popcorn machine.
    - Small vault-tec water purifiers - If you don't have water coolers this is the next best thing. They are very small and don't make any annoying sound.
    - Farmable dirt tiles - These give you so much freedom in building as you can have your plants wherever you want. You only showed them without mentioning them explicitly in the video.
    - Ice Box: Does exactly the same thing the Refrigerator does, but is much smaller. But I also don't like the refrigerator. With only -50% spoil rate it only doubles the time an item stays fresh while Good with Salt with -90% spoil rate keeps items 10 times longer fresh, so I tend to always carry my food with me.
    3) Some notes on items you mentioned:
    - Punchcard machine - While I wouldn't rate them essential for their function because I rarly switch builds and every train station has one, they are great for daily challenges where you have to build something as they don't need any resources to build. They are also great if you haven't completed yet the normal building challenges.
    - ArmCo ammunition: The usefulness depends on the ammo type. If you use 5.56 ammo this is really good as the production is really fast. Basically every time I go back to my camp I can take 200 free ammo from it.
    - Turrets - With the enclave skin turrets do much more damage. Might be worth for some specific use cases, but I also don't use turrets as in the past they attacked friendly NPCs etc.
    - Rain water collector - I also use them to get dirty water. As you can not cook with purified water this is any easy way to get boiled water without need to collect water manually.

      i will also add something up:
      Turrets benefit from Demolition Expert perk card. Basically doubling their dmg. I often use my secondary camp near some events (like scorchbeast queen) to help out dishing some damajje. Problem is - if they kill you dont get xp.
      Artillery cannon also benefits both from Grenadier and Demolition Expert. You can place your camp near some enemy spawn point. Sneak out, throw smoke grenade and enjoy free xp as it can pretty much wipe entire location. If it's open enough and dont have rooftops.

      Dude, going from 50% to 90% is so not 10 times longer..lmao. where did you learn math? 🤣 I mean, sure, good with salt keeps food fresh longer but it also takes up 3 perk points that can otherwise be used for better damage, accuracy, or resistance. I rarely use that perk card unless I am using a build that doesn't need as many perk points to be efficient.

    Finding out the fridge was only 50% was a huge disappointment and I'm incredibly glad I found out before buying one. I'll continue carrying all my food with a 90% reduction and save my atoms if they don't ever want to change that. IF they ever make it 90% I'd probably pick it up.

    • Rustic Watermill Generator (Electricity; Needs Water but its the only generator that doesn't need a plan and can be built straight out the vault).
    • Vault-Tec Small Generator (Needs a plan, and is still not as good as the above Watermill or Standard Fusion Reactor, makes this only worthy of note but it does still have a much improved SMALL form factor for its type, which is also STACKABLE & SILENT!).
    • Vault-Tec Prototype Water Purifier (This Vault-Tec skin on the other hand is significant! Although it does need the small purifier plan & be placed directly on soil; it has a FAR smaller form factor - Able to build eight in the same floor space of one “normal” size one, meaning you can hide a dozen INSIDE your home within a single foundation tile space! Not quite as good as the water cooler, but is Always Available for every character you make, not hard to find as a drop from miner pails.)
    • Chicken Coup - Like you mentioned the Brahmin... but smaller and the chickens dont get killed.
    • Followers from season Passes - like the doctor have sum pretty useful buffs / skills too.
    • Atom Shop Gas Masks - Air Disease Protection for cloth straight out of the vault.

You can buy food items from Yasmine that are a pain to craft like brain bombs and scorchbeast mixed stew. She's great for lazy builds. Maul also sells tenderizer mod plans and magazines so he's not a bad option either, plus he's one of the better defensive allies.

      I laughed when I heard Mr. Turtle's reservations about artillery. My own main camp is just a tiny bit further west of Solomon's Pond, where his camp in this video was located, and one of the reasons I picked that spot was that the clubhouse at the Whitespring is just within its range. Today we happened to have a "kill 20 creatures while in a group" challenge, so I fast-traveled to the tennis court, hid, hopped onto the roof, placed my artillery grenade exactly in the middle, and then hopped over the adjoining building. The first two artillery bursts, between them, killed 14 creatures - and cleared the entire clubhouse!
      Before they nerfed it, you could set up multiple artillery pieces at one camp, and they'd all fire. Here's a video I shot, pre-nerf, of what that looks like, using the Whitespring laundry and parking lot as the target, but before they'd fixed and buffed up Demolition Expert and Grenadier: th-cam.com/video/Wdcn5nsLPVk/w-d-xo.html

    The new Slocum’s Joe coffee machine gives 4 canned coffee in a relatively short time. It’s A-tier for me.
    The fortune teller and the slot machine give stackable buffs to Luck and both take just a couple of seconds to activate.
    For the gym equipment, you only need to let maybe 5 seconds of the animation play and you’ll get the buff if you cancel out of it then.
    Ammo box is S-tier for me. As is the Scrap box.
    Best ally for low level players is the chef. She sells recipes, even rare ones, and occasionally sells brain bombs and cranberry relish or squirrel stew. The main allies give dailies and a ho-hum legendary, but most new players will have a metric fuckton of quests to do already and the weapon may or may not be very helpful depending on your build.
    Maybe I’m unlucky with where I place my camps, but my defense turrets kill many enemies, and it happens often. Plus missile turrets are awesome!
    Last but not least, Shelter entrance is also S-tier for me. Even if you’re not really into camp building, the utility shelter allows you to build a tiny camp that is super easy to blueprint and doesn’t take hardly any space and put all your crafting benches in the utility shelter. It’s what I recommend people who don’t have Fallout 1st build as a substitute for a survival tent. Just one foundation with the utility entrance, stash box, and the CAMP device. Everything else is in the utility shelter and they don’t need to blueprint it, all they need when they move their “survival tent” camp is the shelter door.

    The point of the exercise equipment only giving limited timed bonuses is to keep one playing and going back to interact with your camp to keep up buffs.
    I would like them extended as well until I thought about people server hopping and events like the aliens event that's on the hour every hour , you can sign out and sign back in on the hour every hour so it's understandable.
    In on line only games , population and play time is profit for development since most have shops to peddle in game merchandise.

      @wmjdyer 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I note, too, that some of the buff equipment (musical instruments for AP, speed bag for Agility, bench press for Strength, and Exercycle for Endurance) do take 30 seconds, but two of the newer pieces - the fortune-teller for luck and the horserace game for intelligence - are insta-buffs.
      So, PRO TIP for time economizing: When, for instance, I hear the siren telling me that there's likely about to be a Scorched Earth or Colossal Problem event in a couple of minutes, I use that time to make sure I'm stripped down but well-prepared (ammo, grenades, chems, no excess weight), and then I do the insta-buffs, and an instrument. If I have time I might also use the speed bag. WHILE USING A BED, INSTRUMENT OR BUFF MACHINE, YOU CAN ACCESS YOUR PIPBOY THUSLY: Open your Map, then click on the black diamond for any available quest location and select "Show In Pipboy"! Voila, instead of just playing the tuba, you can simultaneously check your stats, eat your stat foods, drinks, and chems, drop excess stuff, switch out perk cards - whatever! Then, well-buffed and prepared, I still have time to fast-travel to the events.
      I'd be happy to see them offer a new perk card which works like Good With Salt, but for (at least garden-variety) buffs (excluding special event buffs perhaps). Then the longer buffs wouldn't be a disruption to game balance, but just another possible trade-off to choose, which some players will find useful based on their play styles, but others won't bother with.

    Armco Container if you use certain ammo is a good Passive way to get ammo. I think I get about 200 5.56mm Rounds a Hour. But also that is all it will hold. I left 200 rounds in it and rechecked it after a hour of game play and still 200 there. Just wished it held more. Wished some of these items you could put in your Shelters. Makes more sense. Like why can I make beer in my shelter, but have to go to my Camp to use the Fermenter to make it drinkable. Understand the Farming Plots so so. But didn't Fallout 4 have a Underground Green house or might been Fallout New Vegas. But I know one did.

    Vending machines (6:20) are essential but they are too darn big. You need to put 2-4 in case a team of players come visit. And that takes up a lot of space. The atom store once sold a tiny cash register/vending machine that was perfect and looked quite nice too, but it's long gone.

I have three camps that are all nicely built and in good trade areas, with whatever leftover budget I have going to vintage water coolers. And I have one camp that most of the budget is purifiers, for when I don't have a lot of stuff that people will buy from my vendor.
