If they are already doing reprints of Bloomburrow cards, I would love to see an Innistrad themed "Patchwork Banner" could be flesh stiched together instead of a quilt. Much more on theme for my Wilhelt deck 😆
Been subed for only a few months as of now but congrats on the growth, I pray more people find you because you seriously are one of the best mtg info channels. I share your vids with my boys, any chance I get, much love m8
I started playing in outlaws of thunder junction and have always found it hard to build decks so I have just gone with upgraded precons now but I did just finally build my own deck from scratch so I love this new product
Bought this box the other day and just learned about commander better today, I haven’t played in like 20 years I’m 34 now, a lot has changed but still understand it, I’m just trying to build a commander deck now out of the cards, glad I found your video cause everyone else talks about the commander not in the box
There's some good cards in there, this feels like a combo of a Commander and a Standard jumpstart kit. The Commander stuff is good to see in there, making this a good pickup for newer Commander players.
I'm just getting into pauper magic after a year tipping my toes in commander. Just picked this up cause I'm seeing a lot of card I know I need in my proxied deck AND lot of lands. I'm lazy and I want to support great product
I'm disappointed that WOTC wouldn't print this in French. I have no issue understanding English myself but this is the kind of product I would buy not only for myself as a new player (3 months in, mostly focused on commander, not sure if I want to implement english cards in my collection yet though) but for my godfather's daughter. Her parents are interested in introducing her to a TCG, I suppose I'll just buy her Lorcana starter decks or whatnot instead, a game which I also love.
If the cards are going to set the power level for 5 years and not be obselete in a couple of sets then I don't need "value" just the cards to actually play. I'm too worried about power creep right now though tbh.
A bit too much bulk. I returned to magic within the last 6 months and most of the useful cards in here you would have picked up already at bulk prices if you were building commander decks (stuff like felidar retreat). I wish they would have included 1 or 2 real chase cards in here. I think it's OK if you're a new player to get a collection going but I don't think any veteran player would really find this too valuable. I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the other 20 copies of Temples and Gates I've pulled from pre-cons and now I'll get 20 more. 😅 I did pre-order this @ about $40 thinking it might have some good cards but I'm not super excited about it.
Man, this product release cycle feels just insane. I open and review them myself and it‘s just too much. Do you actually think there‘s any real financial value in Foundations? It feels like the last standard sets either stagnated or even dropped in value (although some chase cards of course still cost a pretty penny). Just feels odd to me to end the product year with this set
Honestly this product is a start for next year. I believe the value will be lower but more convenient to just get playable cards and setting the power levelfor the next 5 years, from this starter i can see that all the basic card is actually usefull. So no more useless card that is not usable like starter collection in the past. Ill be getting this cause the card just useful and can help to just fill my deck if i need filler that is usable
@@magic_claw yeah, that‘s where my head was going. It HAS to be printed a lot, so value of singles is probably comparably low. Maybe I‘ll just get one Collector Box for the fun of opening it on camera
There's no Standard precons. If you are wanting to build a particular deck, you are definitely better off with getting that precon. But for generally building up a toolkit to build some decks, this is a very easy way to start up that collection.
@@BartOakleyP it's a good collection if you just want a base collection of cards from zero. You won't be able to make a playable commander deck from it if that's what you want to play but you can use this as your source for some upgrades if you wish to get precon commander decks in the future.
@@TaunaMTG Excellent, thank you for the info, as a new player I think buying this product is going to help me grow my collection, tho I don't see cards that are consistently being used in decks in the different formats, is it primarily to build a commander deck?
Will this set be reprinted each year up to 2029? I mean the exact same set... or next year they will release another Foundation set with a new slate of cards in it.

I'm glad you liked it!
I've been watching for about two weeks now, so I've subscribed. Great content
Welcome aboard!

Definitely feels very commander centric

I got it pre-ordered at card kingdom for 52 with shipping. Im a new player and super excited

My thought exactly.

I just started in OTJ, this is already very worth it for me

12:00 you mean vanquishers banner I guess?
Do you get one copy of each card in the box or 4x?
The copies are all reflected in the thing, most are 1x
@TaunaMTG thank you very much👍.
Love Your videos really interesting
Hold up! Does that mean sol ring is now modern legal?
No

This isn't a value product. It's a beginner product.

New to MTG, is this actually a good place to start a collection or should I buy pre-made commander/standard decks?

all I want to know is if its a "set" type of deal if I buy two boxes its all going to contain the same thing?
In this? Yes, they are. Besides the 3 boosters of course

Exact same set
Nice shirt bruv
Thanks
Entirely sold out for preorder
Not really, beside darksteel colossus, the rest kind of meh in the starter set
ok, buddy.
Really wished you spoke more with Australian prices. We need more localised content, and I always presumed you were using Australian prices.
The issue is that it's less universal. I do sometimes, it's just tricky with a global audience
usd to aud conversion is $1.00 to $1.52. So just multiply his stated prices by roughly 1.5.
Just multiple the prices I live in canada and I just multiply the prices by 1.3
I agree. Why not display aud prices when you're from there. The US players can convert the price..
It’s probably because the largest segment of the MTG player base, and therefore viewers, are in the U.S. - where the game also originated.
Yeah most of it is garbage lol and are they giving play sets since it’s for standard or do they expect you to buy 4 of these
It's not playsets for the older cards, but some of the newer ones it's 2 or 4 of them.
@@TaunaMTG that makes it a little better I suppose thanks for the info keep up the good work!
