Google 'Redacted Cube' - Somebody created an actually playable sharpie cube that is designed to actually be played instead of just having a bunch of instant-win cards.
You could probably make a more balanced version of it with some restrictions. Perhaps you can only sharpie out rules text, not reminder or flavor text, and only whole words (not parts of words) such that a well-formed MTG statement is left over. Additionally, you can only sharpie out text - you can't add text or symbols. You might also stipulate perhaps that you can't sharpie out mana costs, depending on how fast you want the format to be.
@@rayndeon1 I think the flavor text ones are the best, especially Storm Crow with Flying and Storm Storm. But if I were doing it I wouldn't make any 1 card wincons, such as the Sun, or their version of You Didn't Say Please and Marrow Bonegnawer. Because the interesting part of a cube is creating synergies from what you draft and maybe not getting good stuff and a bunch of 1 card wins are meh.

You know what's weird? This concept is basically stickers. The fun that you're having this game by messing around with the cards is what WotC was aiming for with stickers and just completely bungled the execution.

The first game was a draw based on what we know. Whenever a refers to itself in the text box, it means itself (as seen with Scute Swarm), so when the Myr Battlesphere enters, it creates four copies of itself, which all have the same etb, creating an infinite loop.
It actually isn't a draw, Thoralf can win. The whole ability reads "When Myr Battlesphere enters the battlefield create four Myr Battlesphere you may tap X untapped My Battlesphere and deal X damage to player or planeswalker" - that's all one ability so it resolves completely before the other Myrs ETB triggers even go on the stack. You just keep resolving the ability either tapping myrs each time or waiting until you have 20 and then tapping them all at once for a one-shot.

This would be similar of the interaction between Scute Swarm and mutate.
5:55 cute swarm says when a land enter the battlefield you get a copy of cute swarm INSTEAD. So, you don't get the land, the effect of the land entering the battlefield is replaced

You should do a deck build competition where each player gets 10 sharpie cards and need to build a deck with otherwise real cards to compliment the busted and/or silly cards they need to use.

I'm now imagining this with Yugioh cards and it's just silly. Ash Blossom becomes a hand-trap omni-negate, Exodia's head becomes a one-card win con, Fiber Jar becomes a reusable reset button just by removing the word FLIP, Fuh-Rin-Ka-Zan becomes a board wipe that also discards two cards from your opponent's hand and draws you two cards, any monster that has a burn effect now burns infinitely unless it's negated, the list goes on.
The tokens are normal myr battlespheres, not the copies, although to my knowledge there aren’t many rules distincting two different cards with the same name and what to use
