Your skin is glowing inside and out :) Thank you for being so honest and open about your skincare journey, makes us normal people feel less self-conscious and reassured when our skin misbehaves!! xxx
Thank you so much, and thanks for saying that! I was really struggling with painful acne all of last year and I'm still working on keeping it clear / healing it now. Thanks for letting me know that you like when I include that stuff in my videos. That's really good to know 🥰
Aw thank you! I LOVE Nancy Myers movies so that's a nice compliment 🥰 I felt the same way about the characters! Loved this book so much. Reading anything good now? Need to add to my list 🤗
Love the idea of repurposing failed face products! I’ve been doing the failed face moisturizer to hand cream thing for a few years now too. I love it. It’s so much nicer than the crummy hand creams they give us at work at the hospital. I’ve actually noticed a big difference in my hands not looking as old and beaten up from the constant handwashing.
That's awesome! Great minds think alike lol I know what you mean, it feels so nice to repurpose a face cream and turn it into a hand cream. Feels like such a treat and works well on my hands. Glad you can relate 🥰
I love seeing the places you recommend in NYC, I’m going there for the first time in a few weeks and I made a reservation at Anixi thanks to your vlog! So excited!
Nice! I'm so excited for you! Please report back and let me know what you get 🤗 I thought the Pide with the vegan mozzarella and sunny side up eggs was great, and loved the mezze platter with both the herby pull apart bread and warm pita. We also loved the dessert! Hope you enjoy ❤️
@@NikkiVegan Hi, reporting back after my Anixi experience, my husband and I pretty much got exactly what you said and it was incredible! How lucky for us that vegan khachapuri exists, I can’t wait for those yoeggs to be retailed to more than just restaurants! Thanks again 😊
Eeeeee this made me so happy! I'm thrilled that you had a good time and liked the food there. That's great to hear 🤗 I agree, it will be so nice when those vegan eggs are available. Already dreaming up recipes/meals to make with them lol Thanks for reporting back, this made me smile ❤️ Hope you have a nice Sunday!
Good morning Nicole and have a lovely Sunday and week ahead. Enjoyed and love 🥰 this what Nicole ate in a day video with lots of 😋 treats. There's a fantastic vegan bakery in Aberdeen which I buy from when I visit Aberdeen called Vegan Bay Bakery and the food is delicious. Love 💞 Nicole.
Nice! That sounds so delicious! Happy to hear that you have a nice vegan bakery nearby. That's such a treat ❤️ Hope you have great week! Thanks for your lovely comment David!
We are having a spring snowstorm rtn. I'm not sure how to feel about it. Like, I'm ready for summer, we've had no snow up until now....but it is pretty 😊
I didn’t know you were “starting a starter”! I just started making sourdough, it’s so much fun! I’m sure you have lots of tips and info already but whole grain rye flour is the way to go when you’re building your starter, it’s a game changer. You don’t have to use the same flour for the actual bread dough. :) Have fun!
I didn't know that! Thank you! I'll give that a try bc my starter is struggling. I think it might be too cold in our place. Did you follow a certain schedule or recipe for yours?
@@NikkiVeganYes, absolutely! If yours is weak at the moment, try taking 25g out, putting it in a new (taller) container, feeding it with 75 grams of whole grain wheat or whole grain rye flour, and 75 grams of room temperature, bottled water. Voila, the next day your Saga should be doubled in size and very active! And ready to use! Be sure to mark where it is (after you feed it), with a rubber band, so you can see how far it rises. Good luck, you’ll get it, don’t worry!!
@@denisetemofeew7528 THANK YOU!!! I've seen those taller containers but I wasn't sure if I should be using them. Thank you so much. Do I keep adding the same amount every day or just before baking?
Yay! I'm so happy to hear that you like these recs. Right now I'd say Tompkins Square Bagels (I get a toasted everything bagel with tofu veggie or tofu scallion cream cheese) Anixi NYC, Little Cupcake Bakeshop, Confectionary, Dirt Candy, and Spicy Moon are my fav vegan spots here so far. I thought Double Zero was ok but I wouldn't put it on the favorites list. Hope that helps! ❤️

Aw thank you! I think it's honestly the combo of that moisturizer with the combo of the serum + glow drops on top. It's glowy but still looks natural. Hope you enjoy if you try it out ❤️
Those caramels are my favorite in the world but I live on the west coast so I rarely get to have them. You made me so jealous. And that pizza!!! 😮. Love your cozy vibes as always. Pesto is one of my favorite things as well and I’ve never tried one made with Brazil nuts so I’m definitely giving that a try.
Yay! I hope you love the pesto recipe. It's so tasty and comforting. And I wish I could send you some through the screen! They were delicious. Do you have a favorite flavor? There are quite a few I haven't tried
I love a good homemade pesto! I foraged some nettle last week to make a soup and have some leftover, so I think I'll incorporate them in your pesto recipe. Until this year, I had no clue how nutrient dense they were; nettles are truly an underrated superfood!
That's so cool that you can forage them! I bet they taste best when they're fresh like that. I don't think I have ever tried nettles but thanks for letting me know. What do they taste like?
Thank you!! And yay! I hope you love visiting NYC. I'd say Tompkins Square Bagels, Anixi, Dirt Candy, Confectionary, and Spicy Moon are top of my list at the moment ❤️ Hope you enjoy!
Hey Nicole! I love your vibe and your videos. You always help me feel calmer and cozier. I have to give you a pizza recommendation!! Try Paulie Gee’s Slice Shop in Brooklyn. They have the best vegan pizza I’ve ever found. Try the vegan vidalia and vegan freddie prinze. I live upstate, and their pizza is so good that we take two or three pies home with us to freeze anytime we’re in the city!! ❤
OMG YAY! THANK YOU! I have been in search of great vegan pizza place and this sounds awesome. So smart to take it home and freeze. I'm totally copying that trick from now on if possible lol Thanks again, adding this spot to my list ❤️
Thank you! I'm so glad you liked this video. I tried to find a link to the coat but I got it on sale a while ago and thy don't have it anymore. It's from the brand ASOS but I got it at Nordstrom and it's heavy and comfy but not super warm on its own. I got it a few sizes up so I could layer warm sweaters underneath. I've seen similar belted styles on TopShop and Nordstrom though and lots of them are on sale right now since the season is ending. Hope that helps! ❤️
I will definitely need to try that Typology concealer when I'm done with my current one. I've wondered before if their skin tint would be enough coverage to even out some redness (the bottle is so classy, I just want it on my dresser 😂), but this gives me hope!
haha I know, I love the packaging 😂 I think it sounds like you might find the tinted serum to be too light for you. It is a tinted serum rather than foundation so the coverage is light. Buildable yes, but still light. I like it for that reason but it might not be right for you. The concealer is nice and not drying which is great. Let me know what you think if you give it try! ❤️❤️
I agree! It's been fun to check out new places and more and more are opening up which is encouraging. Yay #teamvegan! Vegan food is definitely not as common here so it can be hard to find, it takes more planning, but there have been some gems ❤️
Thank you! It's starting to heal after some pretty painful adult acne last year! And nice, pumpkin seeds are so nutrient dense! Love the idea of using them for pesto. Hope you enjoy if you make the Brazil Nut version too 🥰
Great video. I'm making your chicken roasted tempeh recipe again tonight; it's one of my favorites. Do you have a recommendation of where to stay when visiting L.A. or what areas to avoid? I'm going in May and am looking at Westchester and Manhattan beach areas but reviews have been mixed. Thank you.
Thank you! I'm so happy to hear that you enjoy that recipe. That's one of my go-tos as well! And nice, you'll love LA. I would say it depends on what you want to do while you're there. Both of those places are pretty far from the middle of LA so getting around could be tougher. But if you want to be by the beach you could try Santa Monica, Venice, or even Manhattan Beach but that's farther down. If you want to be more in the city part, I'd say West Hollywood is pretty central. I'd recommend Donut Friend for amazing vegan donuts. Pura Vita has good Italian food and Sage Bistro is fun and casual for breakfast-dinner. Crossroads is nice for something more upscale/date night and El Cocinero is a causal spot with amazing tacos. Hope that helps! When are you going?
I've always heard that due to their very high selenium content, it's actually not recommended to eat more than 1 or 2 Brazil nuts per day or you can overdose on the selenium. Are you sure it's safe to make a pesto out of them?
Good question! The recipe calls for 1/2 cup per lb of pasta so it ends up being a few nuts per serving. I've found that doing that every once in a while (as opposed to every day) is perfectly fine but I'm not an expert so do what you think is best. You can sub cashews or almonds for a similar result ❤️
