    I had an Achilles tendon rupture and had surgery to repair it on Feb 24th of this year. My feet both swelled, especially the surgical foot. So did my legs. It felt like rubber bands were wrapped around them and they felt stiff. I was advised to elevate my feet when sitting or lying down. I have a recliner, but in addition I bought a wedged shaped cushion (inflatable, from Amazon for $20) This did the trick. I've kept my feet up on it whenever sitting or lying down. I sleep with it too. Reduced the swelling, no more stiffness/pain. I'm surprised she didn't mention this. I take oral magnesium every day (keeps me regular) and I do the exercises that she showed, on the chair. I had to stay off my foot for six weeks, so exercise is important for blood flow (tendons and ligaments are notorious for having poor blood flow, why they take a long time to heal). Also, exercise is important to keep muscles strong.

    • @NaturalHealthResources
      @NaturalHealthResources  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for sharing your experience and helpful tips! Elevating the feet, using a wedge-shaped cushion, and maintaining regular exercise are indeed valuable practices for improving circulation, reducing swelling, and supporting overall healing, especially after surgeries or injuries. It's great that you found these methods effective in your recovery process. Your insights can be beneficial for others going through similar situations. Keep up the good work, and best wishes for your continued recovery! 💪🩺🌟

    Glad I found this video today. I suffer from severe pain in legs, and poor circulation in my lower legs. Also, a recent knee injury resulted in a minicus tear. 😢 For all these reasons, I have become relatively sedentary. These exercises should help strengthen my leg muscles and also serve as good general exercises. Don't know what else I cud do to ensure i dont gain weight, and remain active.

    • @NaturalHealthResources
      @NaturalHealthResources  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I'm glad you found the video helpful! These exercises can definitely help with strengthening your leg muscles and improving circulation. In terms of preventing weight gain and remaining active, incorporating regular physical activity into your routine (even low impact activities like walking or yoga) and following a balanced diet can also be helpful.

    Well done video. Lots of good solutions related to circulation. Limph is a big issue and when it doesn't move it becomes problematic for swelling. The heart pumps blood and the movement of the body and calf muscles pump the limph fluid. Movement is the key.

And what else do you recommend please like supplements and so on.appreciate it.

    • @NaturalHealthResources
      @NaturalHealthResources  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for your question. The number of reps and sets for the exercises recommended will depend on your current fitness level and goals. It's important to start slowly and gradually increase the number of reps and sets as you become more comfortable with the exercises. As for frequency, it's generally recommended to perform strength training exercises 2-3 times per week with at least one day of rest between sessions to allow for recovery. However, it's important to listen to your body and adjust the frequency and intensity of your workouts as needed.

I recommend looking for compression socks with a higher nylon or spandex content as they tend to be more stretchable and easier to put on. Additionally, socks with a wider opening or built-in assistance features, such as zippers or clasps, can also make the process easier. What can you substitute for leg pump? In case of its unavailability what could give similar benefit? Is massaging of leg an option?
    Also, dead Sea salt not available, what's an alternative? Thank you so much!

    • @NaturalHealthResources
      @NaturalHealthResources  ปีที่แล้ว

      If a leg pump is unavailable, there are some alternative methods that can provide similar benefits for improving circulation in the legs:
      1. **Leg Exercises:** Simple leg exercises such as ankle pumps, leg lifts, and knee extensions can help stimulate blood flow.
      2. **Walking:** Regular walking, especially with good posture and proper footwear, can promote circulation in the legs.
      3. **Elevating Legs:** Elevating your legs above heart level for short periods can assist with blood return to the heart.
      4. **Compression Stockings:** If suitable for your condition, compression stockings can help improve blood circulation in the legs.
      As for an alternative to Dead Sea salt, you can consider using Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) in your bath. Epsom salt baths are known for their potential benefits for muscle relaxation and circulation.

    In these exercises most of the we take help from gravitational forces / pull. Gravitational pull tends to oppose the blood and lymphatic flow when we are upright sitting or standing. Then only movement of lower limbs or rythmic contraction and relaxation of the lower limb muscles help in maintaining the blood lymph flow to normal.

    • @NaturalHealthResources
      @NaturalHealthResources  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're absolutely right, @mahmoodmirza3301! Gravity can indeed affect blood and lymphatic flow, especially when we're upright. The principles of compression garments can also apply to the upper body, and there are compression garments designed specifically for upper body use. These garments are often used for conditions like lymphedema or post-surgical recovery.
      Regarding concerns about compression socks cutting off circulation, it's crucial to select the right compression level and size. When properly fitted, compression socks should not cut off circulation but rather promote better blood flow and reduce swelling.

      No need to apologize for the questions! I'm here to help. For vitamins, it's generally a good idea to follow the dosages on the bottles. However, if you're considering higher doses or long-term use, it's best to consult a healthcare professional. As for duration, it varies. Some vitamins can be taken continuously, while others might be cycled. It's advisable to periodically review your supplement regimen with a healthcare provider.
      When it comes to compression socks, the sizing usually corresponds to your shoe size. For size 13, you might want to go with X-Large to ensure a comfortable fit. Compression socks are typically worn during the day, especially when you're more active. The exact hours can vary, but starting with wearing them during the day and gradually increasing the duration is a good approach. And thank you for subscribing! What can you recommend for tingling in toes? I had a sciatica nerve attack and think their has been a slight nerve damage as a result of it.

    • @NaturalHealthResources
      @NaturalHealthResources  ปีที่แล้ว

      Certainly! For tingling in toes due to suspected nerve damage from sciatica:
      1. Consult a healthcare provider for evaluation.
      2. Consider physical therapy and ergonomic adjustments.
      3. Medications, rest, and stress reduction may help.
      4. Maintain a balanced diet for nerve health.

    Recently twice I had an episode of breathlessness after exertion (several flights stairs and hike up steep hill) and felt this rushing feeling up my legs. Almost like I could feel the muscles trying to pump the blood up. It was very anxiety producing. I squatter my back against a fallen tree, arms bent spread wide opening my chest with elbows on tree. I took deep breaths. After a few minutes these symptoms went away. I'm afraid to go up that hill now. The other time happened in my kitchen and I sat down in the bathroom for a while. I'm taking nitrous oxide now.

      Glad you found the video helpful! It's recommended to do ankle and leg exercises for at least 10-15 minutes per day, but you can gradually increase the time as you become more comfortable with the exercises. Remember to listen to your body and not push yourself too hard.

    I’m gonna try this because I have cold feet all the time, emphadema circulation problems and Ian anemia, but on blood thinners and can’t take iron supplements. I don’t eat much red or meat period. Also I wear compression socks but my right foot n ankle still swell. I do see a vascular doctor currently and being tested by ultrasound to make sure I don’t have blood clots due to having pain in my right knee and right side. I will try the exercises you posted as well. Thank you!😊

    I got diagnosed with pre tibial myxodema and also developed some diagnosed lymphodema. I was provided with suitable compression stockings for my lower legs and feet by my doctor. I have had this treatment for some years now. I have more recently got some spider veins and maybe the beginning of some varicose veins. I have been doing some foot and ankle exercises and will try some of the others. Thanks for your video.

    My left leg often now feels cold. Not my right leg. Several weeks ago I discovered my left lower leg near ankle was wet! Turns out it was "leaking legs". Doctor sent me for various tests. No blocks. But beginning of varicose veins. Spider veins too. Not pleased with Dr's advice to keep doing what I do! I'm nearly 78 yes old. I wondered what have I stopped in my diet? Regular herbal drinks of nettle and oat straw . The other I stopped was dry brushing. Thank you for the information on your video.

      How are you doing now? I had leaking legs this time last year. My legs would just drip water, making my pants below the knees wet.
      I've lost 50 lbs by cutting out the white sugar and white bread from my diet. Similar to keto, but not as strict.
      My legs got much better within 2 weeks!! I hope you've found a relief for yours by now.

      @@nataliek6555 I am doing quite well thank you. No leaking legs although I often feel cold on my left leg but that's bearable. I avoid sugar except for baking I use rapadura sugar it has molasis otherwise I use raw local honey. I avoid white bread. I drink a few herbs especially for a very few varicose veins detected with the leaking leg. I take Gotu Kola so far it's doing wonders. Keep on going and being happy 🙋‍♀️💖🌷. Keep safe 🙏
