Thank you so much, I am sure that these exercises will help me, I am 76 years old in October, I have severe arthritis in both my knees and I suffer with Sciatica, I also have a twisted spine and spondylitis in my neck,& osteoporosis in my right shoulder & left wrist, I think I need rebuilding 😅 can I safely do these exercises for my swelling ankles & feet ?

This is amazing! I spent money with medication that did nothing. I just watched your video and did probably 10 times, 50 reps each. It was like magic, the swelling went away just like that, I didnt even had to do it again. I still can't believe it! Thank u, God bless u. Btw... I just did the first exercise, that's it!

These are harder than they look! I am 78 and I can do all except the single leg raise on toes while standing. I can do it with the right leg, but not the left. My left knee has hurt when stressed for years, and my left lower back has had L4-L5 bulges, along with lumbar stenosis. But these are great exercises. Thank you so much!

Thank you for this (especially) and all your advice for those over 50. I am well over 50 and a certified fitness instructor but after several recent injuries and previous DVT’s (one near fatal), I have been trying various exercises found on TH-cam for months, but trying these exercises, I felt the difference and impact on my circulation immediately. I am sharing with others I know with similar issues and will be sharing this and you with other fitness instructors. I am so glad I happened upon your videos more recently and even one other really good one recently released i saw copied by another PT within 2 weeks (which I found first) but not as well demonstrated or demonstrated in a way as good for middle aged, injured or older individuals even though the same exercise. We are taught as fitness instructors to show modifications whenever we teach and you do that well. (Not sure about other PT’s.) Please keep these coming!

I know everybody’s experience is different, but if I may share my own experience, at 46 years old, I had thrombophlebitis, which is a lot like Deep Vein Thrombosis, and it came on after a short period of inactivity, recovering from an eye operation. I decided I would slowly get back in shape by doing deep knee bends (squats) holding on to the back of a chair. I did a few reps, then the following day, it felt like I had a sprained my ankle and I had shortness of breath. I went to the ER of our local hospital. Walking from the parking lot to the ER was quite an ordeal, I couldn’t breath normally, they got me to the ICU straight away, where I received proper treatment. Well, this was 7 years ago, my leg is still slightly swollen and red compared to the other, and I have little blisters that keep coming back. I’m on Eliquis which is a blood thinner, I also take Bisoprolol which a beta blocker. Moral of the story : Watch it with the squats, that’s all I’m saying.

Get a sit to stand desk that you can raise and lower easily. Autonomous makes some affordable options. A good standing mat with height gradient edges and good cushioning for your feet also helps.
Try to stand for at least half your work day, consider 1 hour up, then 1 hour down and alternate or whatever timing fits what you can handle.

Thank you Will for all your videos, disarmingly simple exercises but effective for this 77 year old. And presented so masterly. I was wondering how to counteract the loss of muscle mass during and following covid, and you have provided an answer. I mentioned the issue to doctors, who did not know the answer. I have two questions if I may: how to measure objectively the success or otherwise after 6-8 weeks, and, if successful in our endeavours, do we continue with the same exercises, or is there a way of maintaining with a ‘lighter’ regime? Best wishes to you and your team from Kuala Lumpur.

I have been doing the 1st 3 of these exercises since my blood clots back in August 2018. I had a DVT in left leg and PEs in both lungs. Thankfully, the Heparin drip in the hospital and my body cleared up the PEs in less than 2 weeks. I spent 9 days in the hospital. I am on Jantoven for the rest of my life but I am very lucky to be alive. I am going to try doing the squats. Thanks Will.

All great helpful exercises. I am in my seventies and a bit lazy at times, but in my old farmyard, I have a door about shoulder height. I catch the top of it and lower my body down and do twenty fairly rapid squats, and find it a great for removing tension from the upper and lower body. I also stand upright and put my hands on my hips, and with my feet apart, I stiffen and then release my leg muscles from my glutes to my ankles about twenty times and also find it very helpful. I am trying to find the best combination because, at my age, using too many could confuse me . Again, thank you for very instructive videos.

  • @silenusut

As someone with a fractured, osteoarthritic hip, can I suggest that people with anything similar purchase a couple of different sized Swiss Exercise Balls to use in the front room while sitting down. One can use a good chair height one as exactly that, while a smaller size can support the upper leg length while seated to do related exercises. Also, buy a High Chair (with arms) to use in the kitchen while watching stuff online. I have built up a number of YT folders which I name after the related parts of the body I want to exercise over any day. These two pieces of ‘equipment’ should encourage you to adapt many, many exercises, while at the same time evolving one’s range of challenges to your own particular body.

Greetings, Will, from the southern California desert. 👋
I have a couple topics and I'm wondering if you might address them or perhaps, if you already have, lead me to prior videos of yours.
This first one is about dealing with depression after a TKR - I've fought depression since I was in my late teens (I'm 65 now) and my TKR seven weeks ago brings with it a whole different set of "issues" to contend with on a daily basis.
My second curiosity is about how to get up from the floor, whether it be from, God forbid, a fall or having gotten on the floor intentionally.
Your videos and book are SO VERY helpful to me and I'd love to hear your take on these two topics.
    Thank you! Hugs, MK 🤗

@EmmKaa. As far as getting up from the floor, I also have that fear. I decided that if that happens, the best thing to do would be to crawl to the nearest chair that was sturdy, and do everything that I can to pull up using the chair.

Thank you so much for the comment and sorry to hear about the issues you've been having since your TKR. I'm not really the best person to talk about depression as I have no expertise on it but I can share more information about TKR recovery in future videos. As for getting up from the floor, that video is dropping tomorrow :)

Love your videos so far. Just discovered you today. However, seniors and 50's do not go together. I think to be called a 'Senior' it is 65 or older. Also, these mobility exercises are great for most any adult age. Thank you for your content. Very well done.

Senior communities all over America are restricted to those over 50 years old. 50 is no Spring chicken! 😂 I remember turning 50 and suddenly aches, pain, and health issues started popping up quickly. I still consider myself fairly physically fit for a senior from all my daily biking, hiking, and kayaking, but it's been all downhill from 50! 😂

Hello! Thank you for this video and other videos I have been watching over the last few weeks. I was recently diagnosed with chronic venous inefficiency and I currently have a patch on the shin of my right leg. I am on medication to increase blood circulation in this leg and I have been advised to purchase support stockings.
Due to my work, I do a lot of sitting and standing; however since watch your videos, I can do some of these exercise right under my desk at work! I especially love the calf raise exercise because those can be done anywhere...in the shower is good too (just be careful to hold on and do not slip!). I cannot wait to purchase your book. I am a 58 year old black woman. I do other exercises for flexibility and mobility. Thank you Will!!!
