I just got a cricut and am using it for multiple projects. The videos I’ve been finding have been confusing, but yours are very straight forward and do the point. So easy to follow! Thank you for posting!
Thanks so much for this video. I have had my cricut for nearly a year and I am still trying to figure out whats best for what. Some videos are so complicated. I like that your videos are straight to the point.. thanks. I am learning a lot
I have been so hesitant to try the adhesive vinyl...something always seemed a little intimidating about it. But after watching this video, I can't wait to find a project and give it a go! Thanks very much!
I’m learning so much from after yesterday’s video I dared to do a heat transfer I still need to work on it, but at least I finally got the courage to use the machine thank you

Thank you for the great video, I made my first vinyl and had trouble with the transfer tape i couldn't get it to stick to the planter. But after watching you I'm going to try again! Oh I used the transfer tape that came with my bundle from Cricut :)
Thanks so much for this video! You helped explain every step and different things about design space that I didn’t even know about! I’ve watched so many other videos and feel like they have not helped! So thank you for this!
Thank you sooooo very much for your in-depth, thorough explanations of how to use these machines and all of the things that you can make with them. I'm going to go buy the Air 2 now; Vinyl Disorder, sorry, I can make my OWN awesome vinyl stickers now!!! With the awesome guidance and advice from such a fabulous instructor, Angie Holden. Thank you for making this so easy to understand even an old, disabled Marine could understand it. Kudos to you, Bravo!!! You're a Godsend.
Just bought the cricut Maker and was a little reluctant to make my first project. Your video was so helpful and easy to understand. Will make my first project tonight. Thank you for sharing this helpful video 😀
I have so much vinyl I love htv but I have so much permanent and adhesive and removable vinyl from all of the mystery boxes 😂I have to use it so thanks for the idea and great information ❤
Well explained Thank you for taking the time to share this video 📹 👏 👍 to bad the cricut vinyl is so expensive. We got the machine when it was probably in its 2nd gen year and only after moving found the box with the machine in it lol probably 5 years later ! Hehe ❤🎉ty again. Oh after reading comments looks like I got lucky with finding your videos I'll sub n share with wife.cheers😊
I’m a newbie. So excited to jump into projects. When applying the transfer tape to the vinyl on a large project does the vinyl have to be totally smooth? Thank you for your tutorials. Everything is very clear.
Hi Angie! First, let me say how very THANKFUL I am for you and your content! I received my Maker for Xmas in 2020 and JUST started learing to use it - with your help! I'm loving it, but I'm having an issue with some Cricut vinyl I ordered from Amazon. I've wasted an entire sheet of permanent glossy vinyl! It cuts my project, but when I try to weed it its VERY difficult and I can't get the project off of the backing paper w/out ruining the project. Please help! I've even tried having it use "More" pressure when cutting. TIA!

Hello, I have a Cricut Maker machine. New to this. So, do you always have to use the transfer tape? I got the Smart Vinyl. Permanent Vinyl. I cut out a heart and i was able to stick it on a bin, without the need of a transfer tape. So I just need to know, why do you have to use it? If my vinyl already has adhesive on it? Is it more for like smaller designs where the transfer tape would be needed? Thanks in advance
Transfer tape is more for keeping your design into place. So with a single heart, you would not need it. But in the example I am doing here you would want all of these small pieces to stay in place and transfer tape is what is used to do that.
WOW!! You made that look so easy LOL. I tried my first vinyl project but it went down hill fast when I was trying to peel it off the mat. My question to you is.....Can you tell me why my adhesive vinyl stuck to the cricut mat and ripped the adhesive away from the vinyl? I'm still learning my Maker. Just wondering what I did wrong?
Hello hope you are still active i am in the process of doing car decals and I happened to pick up Cricut premium permanent vinyl and it has a clear back! Which side do i cut on the clear side or color side???
In my experience, some letters lift off water bottles after a while (couple of months). I have been using permanent vinyl from Cricut. Do you have a suggestion/solution to this issue? I have spoken to others who have experienced this same issue.
When I try to weed, it’s very difficult for me, I need help. I’ve done multiple projects with htv. It’s my first time trying the permanent adhesive, could it be the blade that cuts the vinyl?? Need advice?
I would say if your design is extremely small or intricate, weeding will be hard. Otherwise, I would just press the vinyl down on the mat really well to get a better cut.
8:20 when I try to pull my design off the plastic surface I am sticking the vinyl to, it always sticks to the transfer tape, it never works as good as she made it seem!
I have a few videos that will help! Try this post for using an SVG on your Cricut: www.thecountrychiccottage.net/svg-file-on-your-cricut/ and this video for finding free SVG files: th-cam.com/video/FhhsD6loDAY/w-d-xo.html
I find your video's very informative and you make using cricut look easy. I do have a question. I like writing my own text and sometimes it can be anywhere from 2 lines to 10 lines is it possible to have this come off as 1 piece so it will be easy to transfer it to my surface. I like do do a lot of inspirational items. What is the best way to reach you. I did like and subscribed

i used circuit permanent glossy vinyl. I've cut out the design three times. thought maybe I cut too deep, so changed settings. I can't for the life of me get the transfer tape to remove the permanent vinyl so it goes on the transfer paper so I can apply to my canvas. Can I use temporary vinyl instead? Then if I spray with crystal clear over the design, will it stay on the canvas. I don't want to remove the vinyl ever from the canvas Help Please, this is my first time cutting
I have the Maker 2.The first time I tried cutting permanent glitter vinyl (Cricut Brand) Magenta, the cuts weren’t deep enough to weed. I was also unable to see the cuts. Do you have a solution?
First, make sure you are choosing glitter vinyl not just the regular vinyl setting. Second, I would use a lightbox or put it on a window so you can see the cuts.
When i tried this for the first time (im new) it seems to have cut all the way through. Now i can't remove the paper successfully from the matt... How can i avoid this?
how do you get vinyl to stay flat when not using a matt on maker 3 ? next: how does vinyl stick to the matt ….. im confused . our maker 3 just mucks up the vinyl when i hit cut
When not using a mat, you need to use smart vinyl which is from Cricut. It always lies flat. The mat itself should be sticky when you remove the protective cover. Then just press your vinyl onto the adhesive before cutting.
@@AngieHolden we determined the machine is faulty/ not going past “detecting”. got it to attempt cutting but pressure did not go through vinyl. selecting “more” literally cut through entire smart vinyl. then just stopped going fwd despite powering down, restarting, that’s frustrating. ive got product to accomplish…. plus : the unit has to be powered off 2X to get cutter to come back up . rolled vinyl catches going through back and wads up a little *** making it not flat for a machine that claims it doesn’t need a mat. hmmm lol. we’re Christmas decor crafters starting now😊
I would contact Cricut. But once again only the Smart Materials don't need a mat. Any other vinyl you use would have to be put on a mat no matter if it is on a roll or not.
@@AngieHolden we have. new on the way..will need matt anyways to use small sections of vinyl. why? despite matt layed out 12" wide...the usable width 11" : 1/2 > 11.5" mark.. bad cricut...bad !

Hello hope you are still active i am in the process of doing car decals and I happened to pick up Cricut premium permanent vinyl and it has a clear back! Which side do i cut on the clear side or color side???
May be it is the new value vinyl? I would peel back a corner and see which is sticky on the back. That is the side you cut.
Thank you this was very helpful! What would be the best beginner projects to start with a cricut in your opinion?
I find vinyl like this or heat transfer vinyl the easiest.
Hi, fab video. Can I ask do you seal the vinyl once applied?
No. Permanent vinyl is fine with no sealer. Be sure to allow it to cure at least 72 hours before using.
Hi what is the white thing you have put on the mat before the vinyl please iv seen this a few times and wondering what it is?
There is nothing on the mat before adding the vinyl? Not sure what you are seeing?
In my experience, some letters lift off water bottles after a while (couple of months). I have been using permanent vinyl from Cricut. Do you have a suggestion/solution to this issue? I have spoken to others who have experienced this same issue.
Just vinyl applied to anything is not a solution that will last forever. Peeling off is common.

I am putting project outside so should I spray it with acrylic protection?
I would use something over it for outdoors.
Thanks so much!
You're welcome!
What happened to the ball that you attached to your design? why didn't it print out with your original design? I'm confused. Please answer.
This video is several years old. I cannot answer that question as I don't remember.
Thank you!
Have you used vinyl on kraft style mailing tubes?
It is hard to get stuff to stick to those in my experience. You could try a printable vinyl or sticker paper then it would be more like a sticker?
can you add links for the transfers?
What are your washing recommendations? After the process and first use.
If you use permanent vinyl, it will work in the dishwasher. I choose to hand wash though to make the projects last even longer.
My vinyl is a gold shiny material and when i peeled the transfer paper it took some of the shininess from it 😢 What must i do to avoid this
You could try a different brand of transfer tape or a different brand of material.
8:20 when I try to pull my design off the plastic surface I am sticking the vinyl to, it always sticks to the transfer tape, it never works as good as she made it seem!
You can try burnishing more. It depends on the surface you are adding it to and the brand of vinyl/transfer tape you are using.
Hi Angie, what kind of vinyl did you use? I tried my first project but it was too hard to peel
I used the Cricut brand. Oracal is also great.
Help! When I get to the weeding step, all my vinyl wants to come off in one piece! The actual design isn’t sticking good enough and I don’t know why.
Is it cut deep enough? Are the cuts all the way through the vinyl?
I’m just learning, an I don’t even know how you download a project or free SVG an where do you find them
