    Have it now for over two weeks and loving it. I bought a memory card with 3600 games in it and it runs them perfectly. that's a good reason plus my steam catalogue,.loving it

    Can't wait to get mine, just ordered the oled 1tb model.

      I got the 512. Wanted the 1TB but I saw a video that convinced me with the words, "buy what you can afford." Really hit me lol. Having a blast with it. Played Tekken 8 with low settings but character render is around 80 so only the background sucks which doesn't take away from the purpose.
      Plus it's my RPG machine. Finally finishing YS IX.

    If I was to buy one via the valve site would I pay import charges to the UK?

    i just download ''Badland Gmae of the year edition''' on my steam deck and even though it says it runs perfect on it, the keyboard automatically pops up and starts glitching like CRAZY.
    i have to restart my steam deck to make it stop.
    do you maybe habe any idea why this happens ?

  • @darksidehazuki4327
    @darksidehazuki4327 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

    Well it doesn't run just Linux based games, that's what Proton is for, running Windows games on Linux (SteamOS) Wine is another useful thing to have too. Also, just because a game isn't supported doesn't mean it wont work. 80% of my library says unsupported but it all works and most of it runs out the box without any messing with settings on the Deck.

      I own about 400 games and somewhere between 10-15% of my games dont run on Steam Deck.

    • @darksidehazuki4327
      @darksidehazuki4327 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@conchobar I own about 800 so 20% is fine. Besides, updates will fix the rest. Tbh though, the ones that don't work are mostly older retro titles.

    Got SD OLED today and selling Asus ROG Ally, besides the great screen
    , people don't give the controls/sticks of SD enough credit, they're a lot better than Asus.
    Plus the experience of the whole operating system, on Asus there are at least 3 update centers for various functions of the device.

    Is it possible to copy game files you already have installed on PC and put them on the deck, or do you have to download your games on the deck? I'm getting mine soon, and it would be nice to pull from my PC so I don't waste internet data.

    • @LEWISJVCOB
      @LEWISJVCOB 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes you can do this, as long as you understand the Linux filesystem, however it will show as a non steam game

    • @H4GRlD
      @H4GRlD 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can copy the data over your LAN in many ways. If you are on Windows you can use shared folders for example.

    • @eaglemmoomin_418
      @eaglemmoomin_418 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I probably wouldn't bother to be honest. You can do it but it can be a faff unless you understand the Windows AND Linux file systems AND how WINE/Proton works. IF you understand the difference between NTFS and Ext4 or want to learn and don't mind wiping stuff if you mess up, sure. The danger is something goes a bit wrong because you're not clued up🤷.
      You will learn a lot though if you do start to play about.

      Steam recently added transferring games from PC to PC over the local area network. You have to enable it in settings, where you can choose to allow it only for the same user, friends, or anyone on the local network.

  • @rolanie3727
    @rolanie3727 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Can you use steam in home streaming on the lowest TDP, and that can net 7-8 hrs battery life?

    • @eaglemmoomin_418
      @eaglemmoomin_418 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      yep you can do that. The OG deck will go down to 3W the OLED it's about 5W or 6W but the bigger battery and more efficient chip on the OLED mean it's NBD.

      I got razer kishi v2 for my xbox series x and I played suprisingly large amount of games that way.. There is just something nice and relaxing about playing a game in bad or any other place/position pretty much.. I'm playing on my s22 ultra but the screen is kinda small anyway so I'll be getting steamdeck oled too down the road so I can play xbox remote on 7.4" (which because of the aspect ratio seams a lot bigger than the phone) and also play some ps exclusive games and older pc titles

    Are you guys not worried about burn in since this is an oled screen.?

    • @LeoClarke44
      @LeoClarke44  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Nah modern OLED are pretty good at not burning in. I usually don't play full brightness and try and turn HUD elements off on some games like dark souls

      @d-t-b6984 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      So long as u don't have the one image at full brightness 24/7, burn in wont be an issue.

    What about if you don’t have a pc?

    • @linkonprime
      @linkonprime 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you don't have a PC, a handheld PC like a SteamDeck is an even better value because you can gain a handheld and your "desktop" PC by docking it.
      The Steam OS is a full Linux OS with a desktop mode for using it as a desktop PC.

      I was using the Deck for work more than a year ago for like 2 months straight. I'm a web developer so I tend to utilize more resources for work than just using Word and stuff, I was pleasantly surprised by the experience.
      I dual booted Ubuntu linux from and sd card and was using a bunch of Docker containers, a pretty resource hungry code editor and so on.
      Naturally I used an external display, mouse + keyboard.
      The awesome thing about the device is that you can use it however you want to. If you wish to install Windows on it, You can do that as well, although I would never suggest this, unless you're in a really weird situation 😅
