And ya, I actually ended up selling it back to a dealer for some positive equity, and according to my Instagram, a kid already bought it! Before I answer, let me add some context, I sold it to a dealer for $40k who then sold it for the low 40's to someone who after tax spent damn near $50k all in... The reason I don't think these cars are worth quite that much is two fold... 1 is that I could've grabbed a new one in 18' for $50k plus tax (for a ZHP)... I don't think it's justified to spend anything close to that 4 years later with the G20's now being out and the wear and tear on these cars The second part is that at around $40k, and even in these crazy times market wise, I think there are other cars for the money that are either more value or will hold value better... for instance an 'ok' e92 DCT or 996 Carrera Ultimately, the 340i's are sweet, but make more sense to me in the low-ish $30's - just the nature of this insane car market 🤷🏻♂️
@@Reoniz I had a 2014 e92 on my lot for 90 days and nobody bought it. It had 46k miles and it was being sold for 46k+ I believe. Tbh I enjoy the 340i much more as I did a few test drives in the e92. My 340i I just purchased has the track handling package. As well as, driver assistance package, winter package and it has rear sunshades as well as the automatic sunshade on rear windshield. Aside from that it is a 2017 with 29k miles. With all the add ons I would much rather spend 38k on this before buying an outdated e92. Also being able to simply tune the b58 to get similar numbers compared to the e92, in my opinion I think the motor is better in many ways. But I am also new to BMW’s.

I do have E90 LCI 318i from 2009 and it has electric steering. So both my car and F30 have electric steering. Is there still a difference between them? I am curious how the vehicle is not worth 36-40k in your eyes. I just recently bought my first 340i and I definitely get a wow factor that tbh I did not get from a 18 M3. I personally think with how equipped mine is it is well worth almost 40k
I don't think it's justified to spend anything close to that 4 years later with the G20's now being out and the wear and tear on these cars
The second part is that at around $40k, and even in these crazy times market wise, I think there are other cars for the money that are either more value or will hold value better... for instance an 'ok' e92 DCT or 996 Carrera
Ultimately, the 340i's are sweet, but make more sense to me in the low-ish $30's - just the nature of this insane car market 🤷🏻♂️
@@MattF30 I hear you! The biggest advantage of an F30 over an E92 M3, especially daily driving wise, is the torque!!
So you are far from in the wrong for enjoying your awesome vehicle 😎👍
@@Reoniz Would you say it’s smart to try and get one for 34k with the market rn? I’m kinda interested but not sure if I should pull the trigger
@@itzjustmo2715 I don't wanna make any choices for anybody! Everyone's got their own unique set of circumstances... but at $34k I'd look for a very clean and well priced 340i over an abused and higher mileage E92 M3... 😎👍
The buyout residual was part of you lease contract in 2018. Guess you wanted a new car.
Ya but you'd usually be underwater on an aggressive lease... where simply turning it in and paying the $350 disposition fee would be your best bet. In this case (due to the insane market) I had the opportunity to collect some $$$. My only other choice was to buy this car at too high of a price imo, so time to switch it up and keep my monthly expenses manageable 👍👍
@@Reoniz None of this applies to me
@@grantw7946 lmao ok bud! 👍👍
I do have E90 LCI 318i from 2009 and it has electric steering. So both my car and F30 have electric steering. Is there still a difference between them? Personally, I am perfectly fine with my steering feel, it's good to drive and I like it better compared to my previous E36 which had hydraulic, that was way tougher to operate. I had a test drive in 440i 360 HP version back in 2018, but I was so dazzled by the B58 engine, that I might have omitted what the steering was like :P
E90’s have hydraulic steering
@@chriskay4392 Apparently not all of them. Mine has electric. There were 3 versions: hydraulic, hydraulic supported by electric motor, fully electric (my version).
@@MatiKosa not sure about that where you from? I’m from the uk pretty sure they were all hydraulic here
@@chriskay4392 Poland, but my car has been manufactured in Germany and is a LCI version. My buddy has 335i from 2008 and claims he has hydraulic steering.
@@MatiKosa I have had a 2009 and 2010 both had hydraulic.
don't play that game bro
Hahaha aww man
340i prior to covid was mid $20k to mid $30K? Damn. When’s it coming back? 😂😂😂
Lmaoo whole market man... almost everything's 📈 and only more so if it's a "desirable" car
Peep C63 S prices 😳
@@Reoniz lol even my non ctr civic is low-mid 30ks now 🤯
@@alexl.102 that's nuts!! Speaking of CTR's... I needa drive one ASAP (new ones coming out next year too!!)
Yeah leasing is the way to go I guess if you don't plan on keeping your car.
Well I also leased this during very different market conditions !! Today things are a bit more convoluted
an M5
Ahh man I wish 🤑🤑
Is it a tesla
No... but your closer than I want to admit 🤐
