I forgot to mention *ANOTHER* great reason to fight elites: they have an increased chance to drop uncommon and rare cards compared to normal fights! *OPEN SEASON ON ELITES!!!*
Dont forget the Sling of Courage relic which grants +2 strength during Elite fights. Its a great early shop purchase and combos with the others you mentioned. Thanks for a great video!
Honorable mention to the boot when it comes to nemesis =p the relic is usually pretty bad but it can really help in that fight as it lets you deal a good amount of damage through it's intangible (multiplying your damage output from attack by 5 during those turns). Being able to finish off nemesis during an intangible turn can mean avoiding one of those nasty 45 damage attack.

If I get Tri sentries first up in act one I nearly always come away with very little health. Sometimes you just can't find any AOE response cards. But once I found out attacking one of the outside Sentries first, it totally changed the way I approach the fight.
Yep! It really, really helps to down one of the outside ones as quickly as possible. AoE is great to have, but you can still do well with really good single-target damage too.

There's more on the way! We (myself and the editor I work with) are both busy with life and aren't full time content-creators, unfortunately. But we aren't stopping!
Tbh I find I die more to tougher hallway fights then elites largely due to their predictable patterns and that if I can’t handle one at my current hp and strength I can path around it. You can very easily know what to expect from a elite fight and get a good idea how your deck handles them and if you can afford to take them. I’ve got a upgraded chill so not only can I possibly block both tri sentries at once with 3 defends but I can block 1 with 1 with only a single defend and I have some form of aoe I will likely take very little damage against them for example. But trying to figure out how much damage I’m gonna take from idk snecko with my claw deck is much less predictable. There’s been times where tbh I probably chose wrong in attempting to repath away from elites because I was low hp when I could of handled them and then died to a hallway fight with bad rng. Elites aren’t necessarily the things you should be the most afraid of at times.
I thought you went offline and stopped being on social media! But I just saw you are still answering to comments, I just downloaded the game and having a blast and your guides are encouraging me to keep playing
my biggest run ender is definitely the snake lady, i'm rarely able to take out all her swords because most of the time i play the silent and while probably not amazing, i play the silent and usually build my deck around poison and first turn damage like backstab so while i can end most fights in one to 2 turns if i don't i really get punished
Just came from the other video and was looking for a more in-depth video for the heart and saw that you only have 3 guides, and you don't stream nor make videos in the meantime or even anymore. Pain :). On the flip-side, happy that you're doing great-- or at least you say so. And this guide's given me some valuable insight, as well as reinforcing correct ideas i've already had in mind before watching the video. Great video!
Thanks for the wonderful helpful guides, Ina. Learnt a few things today. :) And as for the question at the end of the video, I can't say one specific elite, but I think I might be able to choose one for each act. Act 1 I generally take the most damage to Lagavulin - I always forget to have a good way to race them down in my deck while still blocking those big hits. Act 2 would likely be the Task Master and two slavers - I just generally start to crumble against those three medium health-pools or to the debuffs. Act 3 is the easiest choice for me, Reptomancer - her massive attacks plus big hitting daggers always punishes my large decks that I tend to build the most out of any elite in the game. I either miss my damage to the daggers between turn one and two and get opened up with 50 damage to me, or struggle to kill her before she chips me down alone with her massive attacks and debuffing. Act 4 only has one elite as you stated, but I still would like to mention what I struggle more against in this fight - at this point, my block is usually tuned well enough to survive them for a time, but then comes the issue of the burns and my damage being too slow - the shield debuffing usually is what gets me killed the most.
All toughies for sure. I'm hoping you'll take this video to heart (lol) in act 4 and kill that shield first! That should make things much more consistent for you for sure.
Runic Dome is my second favorite boss relic because of how predictable this game is as you gain around 80+ hours of gameplay. It's basically "gives you a bonus energy for nothing in return." The thing about it is that even if you don't know how much damage an enemy will do to you you know when they damage you and when they don't. But the thing is that even if you do know how much, if you can't defend or kill them then it doesn't matter. Compare it to having 3 energy while knowing how much damage they do, 4 energy without that visible information allows you more leverage in gameplay. On a side note, the best boss relic is Pandora's Box because of the glitch or just by using it normally.
I’m a support worker and my guy I look after put me on Slay the Spire. I thought about buying it, only to realise that I already had it in my library thanks to PlayStation+. It’s such a good game with the right amount of challenge to it

Yes, but their health is based on the health of the enemy they split from, so you want to burst the original slime down as much as possible as it gets close to 50% health (i.e., when it splits), that way the spawns are much more manageable.
Dude, I transformed all my blocks and strikes as second boss relic. I literally have 2 block cards (and one add two curses every time I use it) in my deck. Now how fair is Nemesis whip out 90 damage in 3 turns and become intangible between them. Lagavulin and Stabby Book bad too but Nemesis is the worst damage spammer.
For me, the giant head one on level 3 has gotten me all but i think 1 time. I think I was using the defect power deck. So I had ridiculous shields and lightning cycling. Also had the intangible cards, which help a ton. I always take those if i can get them in a run. I have yet to beat level 3 so far. But your tips might make it possible. Wish me luck ascending the spire!
You definitely saw the power of scaling with that Defect deck and that's the sort of thing you need with Giant Head (and really any other fight post Act 1). Make sure to build more scaling into your decks in the future and your first success is on the way! Good luck in the Spire.
with Elites/Normal Hallway Fights I like to kill as many as possible in Act 1 but in Act 2, Act 3, (Act Four Not Included) I like to go for question marks so I can remove excess cards and refine my deck

Nah, this game is just really, really hard for most people. Unless deck building and thinking a few steps ahead comes naturally to you, it's really tough. Keep at it, good luck in the Spire!
You joined TH-cam on October 3rd, I would love to see you do a legacy stream on that day this year, where play all the games you used to play for like 12 hours. It's far enough anyway that plans could be made. I would love to see something sooner but I would wait that long. It would be cool to involve your viewers with the stream. For example doing twitch poles that viewers can vote to choose the cards and relics you pick up. Idk food for thought, generally the longer people are away from the platform the harder it is for them to come back. The views might be low but it would have to be something you would want to do regardless of the numbers.
Pardon if this is a frequently asked question, but what happened to the streams and videos? I got into Slay the Spire recently and was all hyped up to catch a stream only to discover you've been offline for 8 months and your Twitter is gone. You still seem to be active in these comments, and I appreciated your perspective on the game.
Don't mind at all. I just decided back last September that streaming and continuing to make content wasn't worth it for me anymore. I was glad to have the opportunity to try it (I'd been dreaming of doing so since I was 5), but ultimately it just didn't pan out.

Reptomancer is the bane of my existence lol
Hoodie-footie-sneck-pajama-lady-with-a-side-of-daggers is the bane of most runs for sure. Just need to have a plan for her.
great guides!
Appreciate it; hope they help!
Underrated game.
Super underrated! This is probably the gold standard of roguelite deckbuilding games out there.
with Elites/Normal Hallway Fights I like to kill as many as possible in Act 1 but in Act 2, Act 3, (Act Four Not Included) I like to go for question marks so I can remove excess cards and refine my deck
I got this game for PS+ I’m so bad. I’ve died in the first map at least 7 times apart from my second ever run I must have got super lucky as I made it to the 3rd map 🤣 now I’m trying to find guides or walkthroughs to help 😅
I haven't played in a couple years. I forgot how good the music is in this game
I recommend taking the card Dash on silent so that you can counter Gremlin Nob and Lagavullin on Act 1
If you can get it!!!! The cards are RNG.
Man where are you?? I NEED MORE SLAY THE SPIRE VIDEOS :(
Busy with life, sorry man. I would still like to get back to it one day, but I can't say when it will be.
Love the tip videos!
Love that you loved it! Thanks for watching!
This game is so darn good.
Sure heckin is! I hope you enjoy your time in The Spire and easily deal with the fact that it might rekk all other roguelite deckbuilders out there for you!
@@InaBeta Couldn't find any! Have you got any recommendations? I tried Monster Train, couldn't get into it. Will have to give that another go.
Great stuff here. You should be proud.
Thanks! I am definitely proud :)
Repto and nob are my weakness I've only made it to act 3 a few times
Hey, those are tough for the best players! You'll get there more consistently; that first Heart kill is right around the corner!
Great guide!
Glad you enjoyed, thanks for watching, and hope to catch you live sometime!
Great work!!
Thank you!
Love the content!! Picked it up from psplus and I’ve been hooked every sense!! Even a single bit of damage feels like a failure to me!
Seems like you’ve been gone for awhile! Personal life leaving you no time for content making?
Basically, yeah; thanks for understanding. Glad you enjoyed and good luck in the Spire!
nice vid bro
Thanks, bruh
I just started to play slay The spire
Hope you're loving it!
Loving your vids man just wish you posted more on here are you still streaming?
Nope not anymore, but glad you enjoyed the videos. Good luck in the Spire!
thank you!
Right back at ya!
The Boot is great for the Nemesis
Totally a place that the Boot can shine! It should take it where it can get it, because there aren't many lol
y'know I find group fights much more difficult than elite ones slime being my worst against since he's technically a group
Oh for sure, there are many normal encounters that are notorious for losing players more life on average than elite fights. Shelled Parasite and Fungi Beast are probably top on that list. And you don't even get a relic!
@@InaBeta do have any tips for act 3 groups? I just started playing like 2 days ago I've gotten comfortable building decks but the ones I often end up with have a hard time dealing with them by act 3
Great content
Glad you like it!
No elite scares me more that gremlin nob on defect. Maybe now I will be… marginally less scared
You're not alone on that! Nob is scary on just about any character... Watcher does pretty damn well against him.
Very helpful! Subcribbled
Thanks, glad you enjoyed!
We did it mate! With all your tips first win EVER ! It was a combination of sneako (wich I learned to use from you) barricade demon form trench and allot of block and bodyslams. Next week I’ll join your discord man you are awsome! (I’ll post the victory next week in discord)
CONGRATS!
@@InaBeta update :D also got a win on your favorite rogue girl! And ascension 2 unlocked on the ironclad! Next up is the robot!
@@teunxgoku6379 Glad to hear; keep it up!
@@InaBeta sorry to do it like this, FIRST heart kill on ironclad at A2!!! I’ll join discord soon!
@@teunxgoku6379 Congrats! We'd love to see you over there on the Discord whenever you're ready
It took me over 500hrs of playtime to finally get Torii & Tungsten Rod in the same run.
Some regulars are a lot tougher than most elites for me somehow.
Feel you there. Those black slimes in Act 3 can get really annoying, and the thieves as well
This is true for many players. Avacado and rat fight is harder than most elites in act 2.
Imma be real this just the wiki for the patterns for me most of the strats are self evident if you know what the bosses do great vid none the less I can't read
Thanks again!
from all of them..nemesis ended my run propably like 20x more often xD it is truly my nemesis...
Do you think you would still be as good if you shaved? I think the beard stroking is adding +3 int
I objectively would have seen a 5-10% win rate reduction without the beard.
I don't like this algorithm never seen these vids but since I downloaded spire I'm seeing it
The only act 3 elite I’ve ever had issues with is big head.
Especially empowered Giant Head with +max hp :O
Yo man make more content ! Should try other rogue likes cobalt core I’ve been playing recently so good
Yeah, not gonna happen, unfortunately. I may check out Cobalt Core though, thanks for the suggestion!
Have this man tried mods for slay the spire ? He definitely should
I never got big into the mod scene for this. About the only mods I was interested in were ones that improved viewer experience (Slay the Relics, etc.).
@@InaBeta i see . Well got to know that
I must have gotten lucky, the heart fight was super close, but the spear and shield I walked away with almost full health.
Eh, some builds are like that. Grats on the Heart kill!
Reptomancer, meet corpse explosion. Each minion is a bomb, so summon your heart out.
13th and very helpful, Ina
13th hypu! Appreciate ya
Cool video :)
Thanks so much for watching; glad you enjoyed it!
lovely beard sir^^
Why thank you! Have a lovely day to go with it!
I play mainly silent and I find that when I fight nob its better to just not block
Correct! It is a total damage race and the best way to mitigate damage in that fight (and others) is to just kill him as quickly as possible.
Can you please Start playing and uploading again? I mean you still reply to Comments. Sure you probably had your Reasons for quitting but i would love to See you Do more slay the spire Videos 😇👍
Sorry, I've moved on. Thanks for understanding.
@@InaBeta Yo I just found your channel a few hours ago and binged some of your vids, was wondering what happened. I respect your decision, hope life's been good
Also thanks for leaving the vids up and making my day better, people often private everything
@@confusedturtle183 Life's been pretty great, thanks for asking! I always want people to find these guides! We worked hard on them and it's good information for people starting out! Good luck in The Spire!
@@InaBeta The hard work really shows! Seriously
@@confusedturtle183 Thanks a bunch, glad to hear!
