@kittyshippercavegirl so Jon Bois is a guy who tells stories who are Pretty Good™. He also has a soundtrack library that is equally pretty good. It is interesting how many creators he has inspired, and how he has become an easter egg for those in the know. Although, I guess if everyone openly praised him, there might be a Taylor Swift effect where those who are indifferent starts to dislike him just because he's talked about so much.
@@kittyshippercavegirl He is a very unique sports journalist who creates content that can be easily be enjoyed by people who aren't interested in sports. Before the great replay wipe, I had a replay of my lead Shaymin-S (of my team of 6 Shaymin-S) 6-0'ing an enemy team in Anything Goes. The only move I clicked was (choice specs'd) Air Slash, and only ONE Air Slash that COULD have flinched didn't. All of the rest did, allowing it to whittle down a Zygarde-C (and the rest of the opponent's team- they didn't forfeit). Yes, I was a degenerate.
For a fun fact on the side, in the TCG, Shaymin-S EX dominated the standard (when it was in rotation) and extended formats (before it got banned) because it would enter and redraw 7 cards for you. And you could have 4 of them in your deck. People clamored for it to be banned since it released in the BW era of the TCG

"The Opposing Shaymin used Seed Flare!" "It's Super Effective!" "Mike Wazowski's Special Defense harshly fell!" words cannot describe how fucking infuriating this is
Nah, I love Shaymin Sky. It’s a fascinating grass flying type, making the usually terrible combo work. Plus, it’s actually got an interesting play style. What’s actually bad are all the power crept min maxed sweepers added each generation with the volatile status effects. No meta, not singles or doubles, are safe from the stagnation of offense.
so i saw that crush claw and razor shell are one stage defense dropping moves, as well as poison fang having badly poison, that always triggering with serene grace, if you didn't have ANY options to flinch or paralyze, how good would it be, seeing as serene grace seems to only be good for taking away turns
I really wish it had been in swsh, it would have been really interesting to see how skymin did in series 13, the only VGC format where mythicals were ever legal. Most of them were pretty bad except for megearna anyway, but shaymin is a really unique Pokémon since it only shares its typing with tropius and Jumpluff and they both fill totally different roles.
As a resident togekiss and jiracji enjoyer, even I gotta admit shaymin-sky is too much. Togekiss can do disgusting things but it’s not that fast, so it’s at least challenging to get online. It’s pretty much forced to run scarf or thunder wave to get its flinches off consistently, and it’s often not strong enough to break through bulky steels. Jirachi has similar issues, it’s good but iron head is resisted by a lot of pokemon and base 100 speed means it doesn’t plow through everything immediately. Shaymin sky though? It outspeeds the vast majority of the game naturally. It’s secondary stab has base 120 power and halves the enemies special defense. It even has earth power for the few steel types that can handle its stab moves, or it can just be the worlds best subseeder too. You need good team support to make the other serene grace users work. Shaymin sky just kinda does everything with a side of bs. It’s too much.
There should be more type passive immunities like Fire immune to burn, Ice immune to Freeze and such that takes care of Flinch. Fighting or Rock types make the most in character sense to me. (Wait skymin beats those 2, fuck)
