You mean a free Mobil game there are many of aaa Mobil games for one buy and you get everything without 💩 in app purchases. Like alien isolation,hitman blood money ,resident evil 4 remake, resident evil village and many more.
That my friend is called bad combat design... See in the actual dmc games there is no cool down... Why ? Well that's cause the combat is so incredible that just spamming feels wrong due to how well your combos and moves flow into one another... So the stinger flows well into other moves and therefore the devs don't need to worry about us spamming it cause using all your other moves to combo with it just feels too good Having a cool down shows that the combos in this don't flow well if at all and so since there is no reason to use them people will just stinger spam
Stinger shouldn't even be a skill button. Dance Macabre should to save your screen. Stinger should be an infinite use "invisible skill". Something not on the list but useable(like Shin Akuma's Misogi bs)
I mean I get this comment but I think having him use beowulf would make sense for the boss cause the bosses weakness was shield breaking character and if they used the yamato version of Vergil it would have been pure overkill
I haven’t been following development very closely, so initially I didn’t really understand why everyone was disappointed with the final version, for a mobile version, I thought it looked great. Then I saw the final minute of the old gameplay. I now understand.
Well, they separated both Dante and Vergil into a few different characters. Example : if you managed to gacha vergil w/ beowulf, he is counted as 1 character and cannot switch weapons. It is basically just like what Hoyoverse did to their characters. And also, DMC verse got like 7 playable characters so far, they needed to expand the characters for gacha.
They utterly neutered the combat system to make way for a watered down pgr character swap and later someone is gonna stand in a boardroom being asking why the game had mediocre reception while lots of eye rolls were being had.
@@YasaiTsume Let's be honest, pgr takes from many games which is why it's great. Dmc has its own thing to begin with and is watered down from that. The switching is older than pgr. Much older.
Sucks that the finalized version they went with is far different than the old beta version of the game. And the fact it's a mobile gacha, locking 3 different version of Vergil including Dante is a punch in a gut... makes me laugh ironically Really wish the combat system is the old one like in the final part of the video... but nope, even though it's still a dmc game for mobile P.S. the fact that the Rebellion looks more like it in the beta compare of the "victory blade" and you can shoot your guns in the beta... what a waste of cutting it off
I think I know why they replaced the weapon switching system with character switching since this will be another gacha game people will have to summon characters to play with their favorite devil arms,skins,weapons etc and that will cost real money or a lot of grinding thats how the gacha system works and its a fast cash grab easy...
some might have good expectation and some don't and that's crazy! but if that what you expected and like how the game work out i have nothing to judge and against you.
They most likely changed the combat system for monetary reasons rather than "accessibility", they want you to buy higher tier variants of the characters since they have more upgrades/abilities to use for actually good combos. I sort of expected they'd do something like this in the finalized version since it seems like the main goal of modern mobile games nowadays is entirely focused on trying to squeeze wallets rather than player satisfaction, but it's still really disappointing seeing this happen.
I just want they to give us a chance to get higher quality characters for free, with some effort ofc but not impossible to get by f2p. The mobile game industry makes a lot of money and they need investors for profit and making their other games better. I just want to at leas get what ordinary people will get in dmc5 as i love vergil but if he is paid character i won't buy it. I got pc DMC5 and will enjoy it there i don't pay for mobile games cos they aren't worth it...(i only have terraria who is game i have played for over 10years and its future complete game ever)

@@PokyDaBesto yeah I know, but let's be honest dmc3:se got literally a moveset 3× bigger and the game is literally from PS2 and of course almost every phone we buy nowadays is way better than a PS2, so changing to 2.0 combat is not an excuse, even tho we couldn't style switch on that time due to limitations nowadays this is just ignorable, no one cares about limitations they did really bad on that decision just to add a bunch of characters so the game doesn't feel empty, bro they really separated Dante/Vergil/Nero/Lady in 2-3 different characters for us to mix them in one party just to try to make a moveset similar to the console games with 3 moves per characters(QTE counts), it's funny how Yamato from DMC4:SE can already overpass this game on moveset, infact that they discarded good ideas like: Vergil using shurikens for combo extension, Dante changing both gun and sword at the same time, swordmaster gunslinger is like from DMC: Devil May Cry they are only one but Royal Guard and trick are separated and you could change between them, extending even more each Dante's weapons moveset, giving Dante even more weapons than just the weapons that we already had on DMC3, DT actually heals, purple/blue orb sistem, DT has give more moveset, gacha was way more cheap than now
Addition: Actually, they lock the "Rebellion" via weapon skin for his "Victory Blade". Same goes for Lady's SMG, Nero's "Red Queen" via skin, and Forced Edge. Which comes to mind, there are DMC1 and DMC2 Dante costume or skins in the previous beta. But for "mobile live service", yeah... who knows where they go now... spend that money and get a terrible gacha rate regardless
variants should be treated like skins and there should have not been variants with weapons being exclusive to the variants, it so sad that a company like this would want to put profit and minimize any fun to be had with this game.
up until the end i was "aren't you kind of to harsh" then i saw the combos at the end.... *they have to put those angi and rudra combos in dmc 6 NOW I NEED IT!*
I was able to play the closed beta for a little bit, and really enjoyed it (despite not being able to read shit lol). Weapon switching, sick combos, enemy stepping, even how Dance Macabre changes depending on what weapon Dante is using is a cool concept. I was so excited once DmC:PoC was released globally, only to find this Genshin May Cry: Peak of Disappointment.
No cool-ass voice distortion, Nero can't even bringer, Dante is not being cocky or toying around, no weapon switching or guns, Nevan is not being playful and seductive and that end was what I missed? What the hell is this?
I really thank Nelo, BeeG and Zen for showing an actual close-like DMC actual combat system tribute and showing how an actual DMC game should feel and look.
At first I was like it looks good for a dmc mobile game. Good for new players to taste dmc for the first time and maybe transition later. Then I saw the old combat and I was like oh...what happened here. Im guessing they wanted to make it easier for the newer players
@@darweath gacha for weapons instead of characters? although it would severely restrict character building, because there are not many options even right now(if you try to build a "team" with only nero variants, for example). If there was more content, it could be done.
@@omegamagnus0657 yeah, HI3rd set the standard for mobile DMC type games, heck the control UI in DMC Peak of Combat reminds me a lot of HI3rd 4 action button scheme (evade, attack, weapon, ult or in APHO there is also jump button to replace weapon) and the character switching. PGR is pretty much a more polished version of HI3rd in terms of gameplay and graphics, and somehow that game still have a more interesting combat compared to whatever mess this is without having a jump button combo.
It’s so weird to see Raves pull towards the enemy, but maybe that’s necessary. Really it just feels like they missed the mark just barely. Like there’s accurate recreations of so many attacks and bosses here so someone clearly cared.
I'll put this into the "I can't wait for people to get into the files and mod it to be better" catergory, or better yet, put them into the other games. I digress.
i'm still hoping out there, some mad lad actually ported the game to the beta version and can be played without login and having to use WiFi or Data for 24/7.
Gotta get people to keep voicing their distaste for the gameplay, make sure the message gets across. And let 'em know their choice in va's in conjunction with the reused voice lines are a shit decision they need to address

yea it is but coming from og dmc- dmc V and beta POC this just feels wrong i don't get why they ditched the old combat model, to me dmc was always the peak of hack n slash combat still is it's one of the only games after 100% completing 1-5 i still replay becauseof how open the combat is and how rewarding it is to pull of that sick sss combo after practicing each part of the combo, ik mobile controls have limitation but it think this could have been way better just going with old combat model

They simplified the gameplay on purpose to make the game harder, I know it sounds weird, making the game easier so it's actually harder, the point is, with a simplified gameplay, defeating a boss does not depends on your skill anymore, it's about grinding for XP levels and getting SSS tier characters from the gacha system, there is no way to play the game without paying now that the game is too hard for a free 2 play player. In other words, they made it pay2win
Its a super pedantic thing. But it bugs me that they have dante holster Ebony and Ivory in the wrong spots. He usually has Ebony of the left and Ivory on the right

Seeing what the old poc combat system was like I can understand the disappointment but at the end of the day I’m just hype for a dmc mobile game to be out
Even Hoyoverse games give better character switch elements than this game. If you want fast phased timing, go to punishing gray raven or Honkai Impact 3rd. If you want mixing elements like a rogue scientist, go to Genshin Impact but don't pay attention to Spiral Abyss. Either way, these games would have better story telling than Peak of Combat I think.
worst part: They absolutely could have combined these two factors, and everyone wouldn't care about the gacha as much. they even could have doubled enemy stats across the board, and combined both of your weapon's stats to make your player.
I think i comment too much... but the more i realize as i keep watching this video and play the game myself, Nero (Free, purple Epic gacha grade) plays almost like the previous beta Dante of old POC combat system but being simplified with his Streak is dodge+attack, and can use his gun... unlike *ahem* Dante. Is it to soften the wound on what they've done or something? Meh... it's kinda not enough, if i'm being brutal about it. The fact that the battles is artificially increased in difficulty, even you got floored when the game said "Highly Difficult for you" and your characters under-levelled just goes to show. Doesn't help that each battles also timed, which is not helping other than add another artificial pressure (is what i feel) when compare to other DMC games. The game is still CBT, isn't it? But at this point, changing things back is not possible i imagine. You are not alone. I swear i'm also not feel motivated when i got to try Vergil (Devil Crusher) for a bit in that one fight against Phantom and realized "he's locked behind the paywall" I should also add some writing like yours in my player info lol "bring back the old combat system." You play really great and your game is stable, along you use the gamepad compare to me when i try play the game and suck at it big time. You should show this video in the game's discord server. It's not only the difficulty that's artificial, it's also the combat system. When each move is given an individual button it makes button mashing a viable option and takes away the difficulty of executing moves consecutively -which is what makes combat interesting, fun and challenging in the first place-. Let's take dmc3 for an example, button mashing in dmc3 will probably end up bad since you most likely will be doing combo 1, stinger and million stabs randomly and not hitting anyone most of the time. Not to mention, you will not get a good style rank. In poc however, button mashing will execute different abilities, hit your enemies and get a good style rank. It will work as long as enemies you face aren't overleveled, which shows that combat being artificial is another reason why difficulty is artificial.
I find it so weird how they hired a new VA for Dante in this game, but reuse DMC 5 Dante's grunts and such for fights, when they sound nothing alike lol
Games like these, makes me appreciate we got powerful handheld PC's nowadays like the Steam Deck or Rog Ally so we wouldn't have to deal with this type of mobile trash.
The beta had a combat system like dmc5 even a little better now you can't change weapons and theres cooldowns for almost everthing "What the hell is this?"
I havent played POC yet since my device isnt compatible with the game (*cries in potato phone), but after seeing your gameplay, my personal opinion about this game: Plus point 1. The switching character feature actually dope, it remind me with Sonic frontiers where we can switch characters 2. THE MID AIR STINGER BUTTON!! OH GOSH!! This is kind of moveset i lowkey want in the og console/pc DMC game Bonus plus point: To be honest, Vergil protecting Dante from phantom are wholesome af, it seem like he realize Dante is the last family he had (beside Nero of course), and he decide to stop fighting him and try his best to become a good brother for him, say what you want, but im tired to see Vergil being depicted as a deadbeat man who dont care about his family and rather see them as an obstacle, while the truth Vergil probably want to change himself after all shenanigans in his life. Negative point 1. I dont like how they decide to remove Dante's iconic guns, like why? Those gun really help me much in combat 2. Dont get me wrong, i love beouwolf, but i personally annoyed with how they choose Beouwolf instead of Yamato as Vergil's basic and unlocked weapon, Yamato has become Vergil's character symbol, yet they choose to replace it, even lock it and turn it into some gacha object (Also, Beouwolf being called as Devil crusher 💀) 3. Pizza? As some energy recharge food? Seriously? 4. I dont think micro transaction and DMC pair would work, idk, but to see DMC became a gacha pay to win game.. it just weird for me. 5. I think this is the main problem of this game beside gacha, the point of the og DMC game is "Challenge" and "Creativity", the og game isnt affraid to torture the newbie player with some challenging challenging gameplay, the style indicator that is hard to be increased and will reset when you got hit by the enemy also told us to be creative and make it look easy when it comes to beat the enemy, this is what make DMC the hack n slash game i love and adore, that was something the old system manage to capture, but no, they instead choose to throw it away and instead did a pay to win move.. if the reason is to attract newbie who know nothing about DMC, arent that will cause shock culture when they found out the og DMC gameplay is actually dificult and hand torturing
Had a feeling it wasn't going to be that good, and lo' and behold, I tried a demo and felt immensely dissatisfied, especially when I realized it was a full gacha that locked characters, moves and weapons behind it. Forget this, I'll just play Dmc 1, 3, 4 and 5 again.
actually dmc poc v1.0 can still be played as long as you have an account before the 2.0 update because here I can still play old combat v1.0 so you could say there are 2 versions of this game.

The Stinger being a cooldown one button attack lost me 💀
It's bad but it could be worse. When you use stinger while it's on cooldown, it uses a weaker version

Guys dante's stinger doesnt have cooldown u can spam it..
The cooldown is just for the stinger attack to charge so that it deals more dmg.

They did that on purpose they make beta supergood and make audience even more crazy and then changed to this final version 😂
Addition: Actually, they lock the "Rebellion" via weapon skin for his "Victory Blade". Same goes for Lady's SMG, Nero's "Red Queen" via skin, and Forced Edge. Which comes to mind, there are DMC1 and DMC2 Dante costume or skins in the previous beta. But for "mobile live service", yeah... who knows where they go now... spend that money and get a terrible gacha rate regardless

I was able to play the closed beta for a little bit, and really enjoyed it (despite not being able to read shit lol). Weapon switching, sick combos, enemy stepping, even how Dance Macabre changes depending on what weapon Dante is using is a cool concept.
I was so excited once DmC:PoC was released globally, only to find this Genshin May Cry: Peak of Disappointment.

@@omegamagnus0657 yeah, HI3rd set the standard for mobile DMC type games, heck the control UI in DMC Peak of Combat reminds me a lot of HI3rd 4 action button scheme (evade, attack, weapon, ult or in APHO there is also jump button to replace weapon) and the character switching.
PGR is pretty much a more polished version of HI3rd in terms of gameplay and graphics, and somehow that game still have a more interesting combat compared to whatever mess this is without having a jump button combo.

yea it is but coming from og dmc- dmc V and beta POC this just feels wrong i don't get why they ditched the old combat model, to me dmc was always the peak of hack n slash combat still is it's one of the only games after 100% completing 1-5 i still replay becauseof how open the combat is and how rewarding it is to pull of that sick sss combo after practicing each part of the combo, ik mobile controls have limitation but it think this could have been way better just going with old combat model

They simplified the gameplay on purpose to make the game harder, I know it sounds weird, making the game easier so it's actually harder, the point is, with a simplified gameplay, defeating a boss does not depends on your skill anymore, it's about grinding for XP levels and getting SSS tier characters from the gacha system, there is no way to play the game without paying now that the game is too hard for a free 2 play player. In other words, they made it pay2win

Even Hoyoverse games give better character switch elements than this game. If you want fast phased timing, go to punishing gray raven or Honkai Impact 3rd. If you want mixing elements like a rogue scientist, go to Genshin Impact but don't pay attention to Spiral Abyss. Either way, these games would have better story telling than Peak of Combat I think.

I think i comment too much... but the more i realize as i keep watching this video and play the game myself, Nero (Free, purple Epic gacha grade) plays almost like the previous beta Dante of old POC combat system but being simplified with his Streak is dodge+attack, and can use his gun... unlike *ahem* Dante. Is it to soften the wound on what they've done or something? Meh... it's kinda not enough, if i'm being brutal about it.
The fact that the battles is artificially increased in difficulty, even you got floored when the game said "Highly Difficult for you" and your characters under-levelled just goes to show. Doesn't help that each battles also timed, which is not helping other than add another artificial pressure (is what i feel) when compare to other DMC games. The game is still CBT, isn't it? But at this point, changing things back is not possible i imagine.
You are not alone. I swear i'm also not feel motivated when i got to try Vergil (Devil Crusher) for a bit in that one fight against Phantom and realized "he's locked behind the paywall"

It's not only the difficulty that's artificial, it's also the combat system. When each move is given an individual button it makes button mashing a viable option and takes away the difficulty of executing moves consecutively -which is what makes combat interesting, fun and challenging in the first place-. Let's take dmc3 for an example, button mashing in dmc3 will probably end up bad since you most likely will be doing combo 1, stinger and million stabs randomly and not hitting anyone most of the time. Not to mention, you will not get a good style rank. In poc however, button mashing will execute different abilities, hit your enemies and get a good style rank. It will work as long as enemies you face aren't overleveled, which shows that combat being artificial is another reason why difficulty is artificial.

I saw an ad for this early in the morning and thought I was hallucinating... wish that was the case.
Games like these, makes me appreciate we got powerful handheld PC's nowadays like the Steam Deck or Rog Ally so we wouldn't have to deal with this type of mobile trash.

I havent played POC yet since my device isnt compatible with the game (*cries in potato phone), but after seeing your gameplay, my personal opinion about this game:
Plus point
1. The switching character feature actually dope, it remind me with Sonic frontiers where we can switch characters
2. THE MID AIR STINGER BUTTON!! OH GOSH!! This is kind of moveset i lowkey want in the og console/pc DMC game
Bonus plus point: To be honest, Vergil protecting Dante from phantom are wholesome af, it seem like he realize Dante is the last family he had (beside Nero of course), and he decide to stop fighting him and try his best to become a good brother for him, say what you want, but im tired to see Vergil being depicted as a deadbeat man who dont care about his family and rather see them as an obstacle, while the truth Vergil probably want to change himself after all shenanigans in his life.
Negative point
1. I dont like how they decide to remove Dante's iconic guns, like why? Those gun really help me much in combat
2. Dont get me wrong, i love beouwolf, but i personally annoyed with how they choose Beouwolf instead of Yamato as Vergil's basic and unlocked weapon, Yamato has become Vergil's character symbol, yet they choose to replace it, even lock it and turn it into some gacha object (Also, Beouwolf being called as Devil crusher 💀)

4. I dont think micro transaction and DMC pair would work, idk, but to see DMC became a gacha pay to win game.. it just weird for me.

I think this is the main problem of this game beside gacha, the point of the og DMC game is "Challenge" and "Creativity", the og game isnt affraid to torture the newbie player with some challenging challenging gameplay, the style indicator that is hard to be increased and will reset when you got hit by the enemy also told us to be creative and make it look easy when it comes to beat the enemy, this is what make DMC the hack n slash game i love and adore, that was something the old system manage to capture, but no, they instead choose to throw it away and instead did a pay to win move.. if the reason is to attract newbie who know nothing about DMC, arent that will cause shock culture when they found out the og DMC gameplay is actually dificult and hand torturing

actually dmc poc v1.0 can still be played as long as you have an account before the 2.0 update because here I can still play old combat v1.0 so you could say there are 2 versions of this game.
