I know this video is 4yrs old but THANK YOU!! I was running in circles trying to figure out what the issue was with my 03 f150. Same exact symptoms after replacing coils and spark plugs. Makes sense with your diagnostic now!!!

Ron that was really bad ass diagnostic. Very detailed and you sound like you know what your talking about. Newer model cars can similar problems, but fixes can be totally different. Awesome job. Loved it.

Having this issue on a 3.6 Penstar Mopar engine, thanks very much for this video, had a p0303 code changed coils, plugs problem went away then noticed temp gauge bounced up & down indicating air in the coolant, added coolant then got air out, p0303 on cylinder 3 misfire comes in only when it sits overnight then I start up in the morning. So my coolant has been doing this most definitely slowly over time.

Thank you Ron I believe I have the same problem. So its not really worth getting it smogged correct?

I have the po316&306&304. Fixed the spark plugs. The water tank is needed water a lot. Probably wont smog with engine light on. So its done. Am I right?

I have the same issues on my 03 F-150 4.6. Only leaks when it has cooled. Any chance it’s the intake manifold gasket leaking thru the injector? I have both of the same codes. I have had external coolant loss.

This should be my problem. Awready did the intake gasket, ran the same as before but never looked up the codes videos and my coolant canister smells like gas!!! My misfire is on cylinder 3 and 5.
Think im going to the junkyard and a 4.2 out, it gona cost me under 300.00 bucks.

I just chased a misfire on my 5.4 and I’m pretty sure it’s due to clogged converters I had a manifold leak put a new manifold and gasket and the misfire got worse like all the air has nowhere to escape so it’s coming back into the motor. Correct me if I’m wrong please.

Hi Ron I’m having a misfire only in the mornings. I had the intake changed last March. That was the second time I had it replaced. Both were Dorman intakes. Two weeks ago my truck got hot and I had to add coolant to it and I was really surprised this happened. Now things are starting to make sense after seeing your video. So how will I know if it’s the intake causing this vs a head gasket? I have a feeling it could be the intake manifold but any advice will be very much appreciated.
Thank you I’m glad I saw your video.

So if he wants to prolong it for a bit... when he shuts it down to cool off for the night... let the pressure out every night? Or maybe if it’s that slight use some blue devil? And then if and when that goes bad just get a rebuild?!? A rebuilt motor or a scrap yard gem is probably the same cost as you tearing it apart having it resurfaced and all.
