  • It can be hard to get a clownfish to start hosting an anemone. That is why we made this video with 5 EASY tips so that you can help your clowns into their new home quickly!
*Note - There is obviously an aiptasia problem in the tank. We are getting some nudibranchs to take care of it. There haven't been many for sale at reasonable prices due to COVID.

The leather corals in this video were struggling a bit with some chemical changes in the tank. We have figured out a better system and they are healthy and back to their normal color. We appreciate the concern some people have expressed about them.

2-18-22 My red bubble tip was exactly where I hoped it would settle so I didn't want to take the chance of removing it to a baster with the clowns and the netting of the clowns then down to tube didn't work either. When the lights went out last night I put 3 pictures of clowns in a red bubble tip. 2- 2inch x 3 inch and 1 - 3inch x 4 inch. Went to work early so no one was home all day. Came home, of course with hopes.......and there they were, both hosting. In and out and around the anemone. Both would go back to thier territory where they been for months but would return to the anemone within a minute, looks like a new home sweet home. The anemone was a recent purchase two weeks ago and in that time the clowns never came close to it or seem curious. Have to say the pictures worked with a few prayers, but I was prepared when I came home that I might not have worked.

I used the strainer method, but then when I put them back in the tank after a week they were going back to not hosting, but literally while I was watching the video I saw one swim into the anemone and the other one followed!

I put a anememy in my 90 with my two oculars clowns and they went for it the second day it was crazy they were all up in it. Funny to they were petco cheap clowns. I have also had other clowns to maroons white snowstorms. And by far the oculars clowns are the best for wanting to have a symbiotic relationship. Also my maroon did good to unroll I tried to mate him with another Martin same size a little bit smaller and he or she killed him sad 😢 but I got these cheap two and had them for about 3 months and I am more then pleased. They are amazing and have tons of personality when I clean the tank one likes to closely watch me clean the glass. But ya I thought more cooler and fancy fish where it it they looked cool. But if you want cool results then just stick basic. That’s my opinion tho.

I can’t believe you’re trying to educate people on reef keeping with a tank looking like this… completely bleached and dead corals, bubble algae everywhere, giant aiptasia, algae everywhere… sheesh. That tank is ROUGH
