With all that space, you should try to make a radial flow settling tank before the filter socks. It's essentially a filter roller without the replaceable media. Bonus points if you use a cone bottom tank connected to the sewer for easy purging.
I've heard that using reborn or crushed coral for an aiptasia farming setup works well, whenever you need some to feed the nudi's you just take out a few hunks of coral with aiptasia on it. I've always that growing nudi's would be a huge money maker....prove me right!
Just FYI Than… I learned that in order for the Berghia to be really successful in doing their jobs, you need about an inch at least of sugar fine sand . Preferably Aragonite sand. They can hide on the underside of live rock but, they don’t fair nearly as well.
Than mentioned a while back that they were having a problem with keeping the Aiptasia-eating nudis fed and I was thinking that you guys need to start farming Aiptasia to keep them nudis well fed and breeding.
Heck yeah, when you started talking about changing the anemone display tank i immediately thought "goni tank!". And then you said it yourself! Id live to see that
Hi Than everything looks great. Awhile back I discovered my magnesium test kit was consistently testing 300ppm high. I figured this out with a reference solution. I thought I was at about 1300 but it was 1000. The reason I bring it his up is that my torches did that same kinky twisted thing your Colorado's are doing. Maybe the variety is supposed to do that and my bubble tips didnt do that when the mag was low, but visually it looks exactly the same.
Have you ever thought about trying non photosynthetic corals like Dendros? Being a coral farmer you may have a better chance than most of us ...... maybe one of those spare acrylic tanks could be a project :)
I like the idea of a tank for sea fans, and along thise lines, have you considered growing and selling decorative sponges? I used to have some blue sponges that were one of my favorite things in my tank. Unfortunately, they got nuked when I used Vibrant to kill my Nuisance algae. They witherd away within 4 days of the 1st dose. I would love to aquire some more.
Turn the acrylic tanks into macro algae tanks and plug them into the system. They will not have to be cleaned because the macro algae will take up all the phosphate and nitrate. The red macro algae would look great even across the store.
The day I mentioned that I farm Aiptasia, was the day I was shunned by the Reefer community, just like that. 5:17 beautiful tank, looks very expensive and high maintenance.
@@BolverkrLimited I don't think any one is doing it, to be honest with you. I can recommend a good light and some flow, they are like Xenia coral they prefer the same conditions. They get 4-5 inches long, fully grown and they extend out in high currents. They eat like any other anemone does, so feeding is the same. They multiply very fast, will take over any tank you have them in. They can be a display colony, if Xenia can. They are the same color, like a fleshy pink and looks almost the same as a tank of Xenia.
With just one angry little fish that hides in the rockwork, and kills anyone else you put in. And hides a lot, so it doesn’t get boring. Like, not a damsel.
I find the benefits of mechanical filtration interesting. What’s the micron on those socks? What’s the sump turnover rate? Roughly speaking, how long did it take for the filter socks to get clogged from every 3 days to every 7 days?
Was wondering if there could be a new video for like spaghetti worms and there’s another past Digitate Hydroid how to bet them I think got overruned and there’s very little on how to get rid of them
Id like to see your entry for the most sick Aiptasia grown in captivity. I got a 17 inch monster, Tubezilla. Seriously though, I have one 6 inches long, 4 inches wide and when you have a colony like that, it's something to behold...got it ?. It's like a bunch of pink aliens, vs the predator. One Ugly motha...there's a lot of organisms up in this motha. No, honestly it looks like something that can only be fixed with a flamethrower and some gasoline.
I love you guys; Buuuuut I would rather be hearing that you are going full guns on quarantining the corals you get to help prevent us from getting the things we don’t want. I’m just saying.
Id like to see a video on all the sound treatments you've done to make the farm quieter.
These Acrylics can turn into a nice Macroalgae tank for low flow pipefish/mandarins and Fatty LPS.
Super great idea. Not enough showcases of crazy macro algae.
Been waiting for a farm update! Can’t wait to watch! 🤩
One of the most important part of reef keeping… is nerding out on hardware! Thanks for the upload!
Very interesting...awesome!

Always a pleasure to have a peek into your farm. Thank you very much sir :)

Kuddos on all your success, my friend. You have a beautiful facility. Hope to be able to visit it one day.
I can’t wait to pillage your rainbow micromussa!!!

I always assumed it was some crustacean bothering it, but we also started dosing magnesium more aggressively and they no longer do that.

Thank you Than.. beautiful !
Thank you 😊
Clownfish is definitely a she 😂 Love the way the farm is coming! Such an awesome place

Those acrylics seem like a perfect way to prototype that cascade aquarium you were thinking about 😉
+1
Used to breed burghia love um
Than love you videos and spot lots keep them up!
Definitely do a Goni display tank. They’ve become one of my favorites as well
Wow, I had a really good comment didn’t I? ❤
Very nice video 😊
Aiptasia. Only thing I've managed to grow successfully
Looks like you use all instant ocean reef crystals based on all those boxes 😅

Extra tanks could be a predator fish tanks ❤showcase ❤
I would love to see more Gorgonia or LPS being sold on your site.

I'm looking at starting a system to farm aiptasia myself, but I can't find anyone doing videos on it. Any advice or videos you would recommend?

A Goniopora garden would be so cute.

I was gonna say anemone tanks for the acrylic tanks

I've been noticing a lot of new reefers. I'd probably turn all those tanks to softies and anemone tanks.
Was wondering if there could be a new video for like spaghetti worms and there’s another past Digitate Hydroid how to bet them I think got overruned and there’s very little on how to get rid of them
I agree. My 9 year old 180 is loaded with them :(
update on those orphek amazonas? a long term review would be great
plus one for a goni show tank
Hey Than there is no any issues that there is inside Wave maker ?
@9:11 maybe for emergency carbon, ammonia or phosphate absorber?
Hello
I was wondering what kind of salt you guys use and where do you get it from?
Thank you
where do you get those stands?
What company or companies do you guys source your custom made tanks from? I really want to go the euro brace route for a private home aquarium.
hey, do you still use aminoacids?
I setup a small tank for a single aiptasia. It died.

Can you turn the big tank into a Seadragon tank? I mean you really. want to spend $3500 for 1 right? or two or 3 or 4 LOL

How can u not like clown 😂 fish
