@@HimekoIzayoiI think she got 1-2 weeks, which is still awful. she should’ve been developing the songs alongside the writers writing the story, not making something last-minute at who knows what point in the production considering she hardly knew the plot (generic and inconsequential lyrics) and they still changed things while she wrote them (one of the songs being suspected to have originally being a love song and then later changed). @@curly9138Being a protagonist or an antagonist has nothing to do with moral alignment. There are hero antagonists and villain protagonists, all that matters is whether a character represents one of the main perspectives a story is told from, or if they oppose those that do. Elsa is an antagonist because the story focuses on Anna and it's Elsa's winter and insecurities that are causing most of the issues, and she's refusing to come home or stop the winter. You could take Hans out entirely and the story would still largely work because it's not really about him, he was just thrown in as a villain so that Disney could portray her as a good character.
Something that irritates me greatly; Magnifico could've been our entrance into grey Disney villains, not pure evil like the classic ones. I didn't want a villain who's evil for no reason; I wanted a villain who believed they were right and made a real point.
@@Chaki21 He was, but as you said, he was done terribly. They made him a heel-turn villain, and because of it, everyone ignored his point. @@OpticalSorcerer They literally revolt against the one that activly tries to protect them and their desire, and then at the end he becomes pure evil for no reason (why... does he suddenly destroy wishes for no reason ?)
I think the worst part about Wish was that Disney so desperately wanted this movie to do well that they hired a pop song writer (who was rushed every step of the way) instead of a Broadway musical writer. Hell, I think the composer could have done more had she just been given more time and allowed to work closely with the writers.
To be fair they also didn't just rush the pop song writer and also didn't give her a script as the movie wasn't written yet. She got at best a general summary.
How did you turn that commercial jingle into something GREAT and TERRIFYING like this?! I love this new version!! And Caleb’s vocals made it even better!!!
simply changing it from a major key to a minor key made a HUGE difference. all the classic disney villain songs are in minor keys because that's the point, it's supposed to sound sinister and unsettling. major keys are too upbeat for a proper villain song.
@@cutie-g2wOr maybe someone is going to make a new villain song for the mad monkey scientist Dr M from the Sly Cooper game inspired by the Wish movie, and we all want to listen to how he’s tired of being sidekick to Sly’s dad Connor Cooper for taking credit from his work.
I honestly *really* love the notion of a villain song that is essentially the hero being the catalyst for the face heel turn. Like "are you kidding me?! You know what? I'm sick of you people! Without me you'd all be nothing, _and it's about time I reminded you!"_
and if the movie had been done justice these themes could have been played out completely as either and individual piece or as a longer developed sequence. Starting in the coercive feel of Facilier Migrating into the cost and "toll" of granting wishes for "nothing" like Ursula transferring into the self assured and vengeful Scar And completing a round off of pomp and self rightousness as Frolo Done over a longer sequence rather than a one off song would allow the motif to change and twist and allow a "mask" to fall off of the King. and you could then allow the king to complete the sequence with harvesting/devouring/absorbing a wish from someone that dies and the "power" of that being a driver to fuel the "evil ambition" of our vilian.
I could see this being like a sequence of reprises throughout the movie paying homage to the Disney villain songs….Linda like how the entire movie was paying homage to Disney movies
You know, if I had a nickel for every time someone wrote a proper villain song for Wish where King Magnifico's lines are sung by Caleb Hyles, I'd have two nickels . . .I know that's not a lot, but it's weird that there's two of them.
He's not even a villain. He's just a mere man that did so much and his entitled people took him for granted. So much to the point that he finally snapped.
Completely agree. It's also messed up how quickly his wife turned on him. She had no regret or guilt in betraying him. I can't believe how flippant she was at the end.
I think the most sorry I felt for him was after the song "At all coasts". Like, he was so genuinely happy that Asha treated wishes the way HE did, like the treasures that must be protected. As a viewer you can see the relief that he finally found the partner who will help people unconditionally just like him, and then the first thing this girl is doing is constantly using the moment to ask him for favour, something probably thousands of people were doing after they got close to him. The disappointment on his face in that moment? My heart broke.
@@simsgirl1235 Has anyone asked him what his wish would be? Did it ever come true? If I were the king, I'd have children and pass on the wisdom to my offspring.
@@TylerMcNamer My sis and I theorized that the king and queen tried to have kids, that having a child was their wish, but something happened and they lost the child. Then, because of that incident, they were unable to have more. We thought it'd be good backstory and add some depth coz it's strange they don't have an heir. Sometimes cousins or nephews would be chosen as heir when the king and queen didn't have a child......but they didn't have anyone.
I can imagine the visuals for this already. Him using his powers to emulate the vibe of the scenery of these other villains' songs while he uses their style. Maybe a few dolls and skulls for Dr. Facilier, Bubbles/making a potion for Ursula, Green flames and steam for Scar, and those flames turn into red hell fire for Frollo. He can pull down wishes with references to individual lines, like an Aladdin wish for that genuflect line.
I've got a few ideas. (slight movie spoilers ahead, obviously. So be careful.) *Magnifico turning a human mannequin into a frog, to reference Dr Facilier's curse that he uses in the ending section of 'Friends On The Other Side.'* *Magnifico uses his magic to call on a group of eels to play the brass section for Ursala's part, referencing Flotsam and Jetsam from The Little Mermaid* *Magnifico (as Scar) stands over a wish of Mufasa becoming the king of the Pridelands, and then he forcefully throws it off the tower to reference the emotional 'Long Live the King' scene from The Lion King. Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed would make an appearance in the background orchestra, probably on the marimba, drums, and xylophone. There would also be green flames and steam used as visual effects to reference Scar's villain song 'Be Prepared.'* *And lastly, Magnifico as Frollo with the tower's windows in a shade of red to reference the song 'Hellfire'.* *For the Aladdin reference, he'd pull down a wish of a young boy and girl who look similar to Aladdin and Jasmine sitting on a magic carpet, referencing the song 'A Whole New World'.*
"I forgave, not forgot" 😮😮😮 Caleb's voice was perfect for this line, so dark and devious, I love that it gives a background to the King's thoughts about what happened to his home. I do wish that was more explored in the movie!!
I will say I do love the rewrite idea. Thinking back on when I heard the song, while it is alright, hearing it more as a pop song would make it less villain-y. Plus, using other villain versions it a great inspiration and it keeps the title well. Plus, it has that "Easter Egg" feel. My only critique would be that it would feel too much and different theming mushed together, but if was worked on more, then I bet it would be amazing to hear again.
lots of musical numbers already do that sort of thing and i personally love the idea. if the switches weren't so abrupt i think it would work better however.
I believe it could work as a reprise, kinda like if it evolved from resentful to full-on vengeful and waging war against the ungrateful... Like, every 'villain' represents a section of his descent from paranoid-and-resentful to fully villainous/murderous (sorta this thing of "If you'll be ungrateful, I'll just erase you lot and start again")
Just break it up and have it reprise multiple times throughout the movie, and then it works great. Or massage the segues a little more so it's not as sudden and sharp a jump between styles, but either way, this is a massive improvement.
@@robbybevard8034 Ok I was looking for this comment. i love everything about this except that it feels very jarring to jump from one villain theme to the next. If, like you said, it was massaged out or just broken up across the movie then it would be amazing
Holy cow the Frollo part literally took me aback, that was SO cool. Already a million times better-your friend is phenomenal! Great subtle impressions too to fit the inspired parts!
I also love how the meaning of the phrase changes, from "People aren't recognizing what I do for them" with images of great things he's done then describing people differing and bowing to him, now it means "This is the thanks I understand", then crescendoing to absolute rule being given to Magnifico, now almost meaning "This is what I will have" Without changing the words, they have taken a much more sinister meaning that would fit a much more evil villian
This is so amazing! "surround yourself with yes's and you'll never hear a no" is such an amazing line! And the progression of the styles is perfect for Magnifico's descent into evil!
Yeah. Its chilling. that's a terrifying mistake for someone of his power to make. All his former skill at goood governance, forging a kingdom in the middle of a random island, all going out the window because he is no longer hearing what he NEEDS to hear instead ofnwhat he WANTS to hear..
That's so wonderful! The mashup of all the past villain songs is so clever, and the lyrics actually fit the rhythm and make him seem like a villain! Thank you for making him a proper villain, because he was NOT a villain in the movie. Not truly, anyway! Keep up the great work!
I will agree that the four main inspirations, while they sound fantastic, are a little *too* different; this is where you’d want to add in some of Wish’s own identity (if it had one >.>) to really glue it all together into a song that both pays homage to the old classics and stands on its own. At least, that’s how I see it. Safe to say, though, this almost made me wanna watch Wish. Until I remembered what the film was and became a little sad. Amazing rendition! Edit: also also, 5:48 I just relistened to this and “I forgave, not forgot” is SUCH A GOOD LINE FOR THE FILM OMG
Agreed on the 4 being too different. At least as a pure audio. A lot could probably be ironed out with visuals as well. Otherwise, yes it comes put a little schizophrenic. ....which could be a cool thing if Magnifico had that going on- talking/arguing with reflections as the stress piles on in the story and he becomes more frayed and breaks down to the point different personalities/insecutities/traumas/whatever are coming through in the song.
Yeah, obviously this is intended as four clips of possible songs in each of the four villains styles, but honestly, if you took and move Scar to the beginning, sang them all like they were actually being sung by the same guy instead of embodying the villain each part was an homage to, and give the background music a cohesive style, this is pretty great.
I think this would have worked in the movie by using it at 3 different points. First in his discussion with what's her name, the second verse during the second act when confronted by someone else, and the third and fourth when he fully embraces becoming the villain when faced with outright revolt.
I would honestly say that, if the four parts were kind of separated by one of the protagonists saying something like trying to bring up a point against him which leads into the next part, I feel like it could maybe work.
I think it would be cool if the villain would go into a wish that’s like the little mermaid or the lion king and sing in the style of the movie in a wish like the movie
I do love all of the versions, and I would enjoy a full version of each of them even more! Since all of them sound really different, putting all of those parts in the same music would sound a bit odd, unless each part were spread across the movie, then it would truly make sense! I do miss the mention of the book because it was the only character trait we got from the music aside from "I'm a king and do king stuff but with wishing power" (miraculously tbh). Having all of this aside, I would LOVE to hear a full "This is the thanks I get" in the Hunchback of Notredame style with this wonderful and dramatic instrumental alongside Caleb's beautiful voice! You guys did such a great job
@@LARKXHIN Oh they sounded great! The only "problem" would be transitions and storytelling across the style of music! To make it easier, try to imagine a scene with the music, with the character going around, with the background, etc etc, imagine the main villain singing his song when all of the sudden the style of the music changes drastically, the whole scene would have to change as well to fit the new music style, and since we're talking about a villain, changing scenes drastically so often would definitely make it feel... Weird, and not really villain-y, it could work very well with a "hero" music, but there is a reason villain songs never do that. But I'm in no way saying they sound bad, literally the opposite! They managed to catch the styles so accurately, I could legit see the Ursula inspired one being in Little Mermaid! They're all so great
Personally I think it would be great to incorporate the different styles within the song, since it's Disney's 100th anniversary. I was thinking more along the style of the song Twisted, from Starkid's Twisted the Musical. The changes in style could come from each wish that Magnifico studies, though I'd suggest making the transitions flow better. The songs are really great, I'd love a full version! If I could suggest something, it would be to make it relate more to Magnifico's character and motives, right now it seems disconnected from the movie. But overall it's still great.
After listening one thing that stood put to me was the emotion. The original singing isn't emotionally emphasized, it just sounds like someone complaining in the snack room of their office job. The remake you did emphasized anger, woe, and spite-- which showed what the character was being driven by. The original sounds petty and immafure while this one sounds like a significant development of character that's going to change the course of the story.
Especially good job replicating the Ursula vibe! Caleb is obviously having a ball and giving an engaging, entertaining performance. Really liked the line and delivery for, "I forgave, not forgot" !
If Wish becomes a musical, this is the version we’re giving to Disney! This actually screams “Happy 100 Years, Villains! Keep on making distress and trouble!”
By getting inspired by specific villains and adapting certain styles into the song, you've made more of an homage to Disney's 100 years than the whole movie did

I would like to see original villain song in his character that would sound like real villain. But this tribute to past villains in their styles is still epic and enough of substitute for that ♥
Wow... I can clearly see Magnifico (as he should have been) belting it out at the top of his tower! And the Frollo part makes for a grand reprise when he finally goes full villain mode!!! So... how are you so much better than Disney, again? Not evil magic, I hope? :)
I have no words for how amazing this is. Such marvelous job and a powerful voice! I don't know much about songwriting but this sounds shockingly better.

You and Jonah give Wish the sound it deserved as a 100 year celebration 🙌 Love this reimagined tone in classic styles and Jonah’s rewrite while keeping the tone of the song
At first the Wish song rewrites were spaced 7 weeks apart, then 5, then 27 days. Within two weeks we could be witnessing a full fan-made reboot of a Disney film.
"Make villains, actually villainous." Honestly, that's why the only part of "This is the thanks I get" for the original, that I even liked, was at the very end when he was clearly losing it. It wasn't until that part that it even felt anywhere near like a villain was singing. Before that, it felt more like someone just venting or throwing a tantrum. Song is great. I like how you could tell the distinct styles between the villains. Ngl tho, a massive grin went on my face and would not leave during the whole Ursula-inspired part. It just fit SO! WELL!!!
So there's a toxic cycle that often occurs the workplace that I think would've been PERFECT villain motivation: 1. Underlings look to leader for affirmation 2. Leader interprets this as a need for guidance 3. Leader begins more closely managing everything 4. Underlings begin resenting the leader for micromanaging everything 5. Leader begins resenting underlings for needing constant supervision If I was writing Wish, I would've used this cycle as the central conflict for the film, being the motivation for BOTH the hero and villain.
Oh my god, this is so good. Not only the demeaning nature of it for both parties but that neither really wanted it to turn out this way, but this is how it is now and there's no turning back
God I ADORE how you encapsulated the different styles of all four movies because Wish was made as an ANNIVERSARY to Disney. So having this musical call back means SO so much in terms of symboism
1st part:"this is the thanks i get" is the only one i feel that's been dragged but the rest is just ear candy, but that might be me cuz "his" song has been my fav 2nd:just feels right, almost too right to fit with the character(but if they changed the character as you said then this is the most fitting one). 4:42 PLEUWH🗣 3rd:honestly it feels like a sidekick backing up the main villan. 5:08 he said the thing! 4th:that drop at the start gives the whole part a confrontation vibe instead of a breaking point. Also "i forgave not forgot" is a banger to drop on someone
i really love the idea o mashing 4 different styles in it especially knowing wish was supposed to be a celebration of disney movies, it feels like a clever way to reference old movies, on top of sounding great
lots of musicals do that kind of thing where its still the same song but the tone and instrumentation changes. i personally love the idea, its like each verse he gets more and more sinister!
@@TheFinalBoss-ni7dv While referencing is the point for Wish. If there is too much, it might look like it’s just meant to be that without a story. This song, in my opinion, won’t fit well with the villain and story about wishes.
This is amazing! I feel like Asha should have become the kings apprentice, then gradually seen his paranoia and decent into madness. They could have done so much more with the concept :(
The lyric update alone gave me life. The Dr. Facilier vibe was my favorite and I could definitely see that one suiting Chris Pine's vocals a lot more. Caleb was hitting those notes though! Go off, king!!! ❤️
Why is this like 1000% so much than the original Disney “this is what I get song” XD good job! It feels so much more vibrant and story filled I am so going to send this to one of my friends xD
This is increasable, truly sounds like a golden age Disney original! I am just sad that it did feel like 4 separate songs instead of one. But that was the intent. Now I just wanna hear all four versions in full. Amazing!
I'm genuinely flabbergasted how you were able to keep anything from the original and have it sound this spectacular and villainous. Caleb fuckin' killed it too, I especially liked the mermaid/hunchback inspired parts. You guys did a great job. A movie that pays tribute to Disney's tapestry of movie history has such potential in concept, my main concern when hearing all the "Wish is supposed to be a tribute" marketing was that it would feel too derivative. Instead it managed to disappoint in countless other surprising ways. It's nice to see some people picking up on all that lost potential musically. It's the same as with the visuals, they have so much history to draw from. Anything from the whimsical storybook style of Snow White or Pinnochio, or Eyvind Earle-style graphic landscapes of the 50s, all the way through to the well-rendered but fantastical sets of their renaissance movies and beyond. And what we got clearly showed some effort, especially the pre-vis art, but for the most part just ended up looking like the same thing we've been seeing since Tangled but flatter. But as a visual artist, I'd still say it was more disappointing musically than visually, even if it was kind of mediocre across the board.
Can I just say, not only is this song way more iconic and classically Disney, the fact it does segments that call back to the styles of prior villains would probably actually accomplish the 100 year anniversary references they were trying to pull off in Wish. And it's in a way that gives it meaning and uniqueness as opposed to being lazy and half-thought out like the movie/music we got. Well done
What I like about this is that it incorporates the themes of many OTHER famous Disney villain songs. Which is probably what Wish, as the 100 year celebration movie, should've done!
This is way better for a 100 anniversary since it feautres the vibe of songs from disney's past yet still maintaining a special tint with the tune and lyrics like a good song
i miss this style of villain/villain song so much man… actually depressing. good job on those lyrics, and i haven’t heard to caleb’s voice in a long, long time. very nostalgic.

I mean, he is pretty much that, but done poorly lmao
@@Chaki21 EXACTLY THE PROBLEM.

Huge thanks for having me!! Any chance I get to be THIS theatrical, I'm taking lol You absolutely nailed every creative decision 👏
You did a wonderful job!
You absolutely killed it!
You did an amazing job with this song!
You were fantastic too, bravo!
Your vocals are amazing
I think the worst part about Wish was that Disney so desperately wanted this movie to do well that they hired a pop song writer (who was rushed every step of the way) instead of a Broadway musical writer. Hell, I think the composer could have done more had she just been given more time and allowed to work closely with the writers.
To be fair they also didn't just rush the pop song writer and also didn't give her a script as the movie wasn't written yet. She got at best a general summary.
They had a good movie in the beginning. From what I read about the original plot, it made so much sense compared to what Wish ended up being.
How did you turn that commercial jingle into something GREAT and TERRIFYING like this?! I love this new version!! And Caleb’s vocals made it even better!!!
He has such a great voice!!
@@PixelPlayhouseit would be funny if you made a video doing the opposite to the other villain songs (making them a commercial jingle) 😂
simply changing it from a major key to a minor key made a HUGE difference. all the classic disney villain songs are in minor keys because that's the point, it's supposed to sound sinister and unsettling. major keys are too upbeat for a proper villain song.
Caleb just SOUNDS like a classic Disney villain when he sings! And that's more than just a compliment!
Agreed. The ending taking inspiration from Hunchback Of Notre Dame was SO perfect and _really_ made it frightening.
The line “surround yourself with yeses and you’ll never hear a no” GOES SO HARDDDDDD

I honestly *really* love the notion of a villain song that is essentially the hero being the catalyst for the face heel turn. Like "are you kidding me?! You know what? I'm sick of you people! Without me you'd all be nothing, _and it's about time I reminded you!"_
5:21
“Surround yourself with yesses, and you’ll never hear a no” is such a good lyric
I legit squealed at the part when he goes ‘all i asked for is some respect’. It define gave me proper Charismatic Villain vibes!!!
Some much more spite and frustration, love it!
The remake of this villain song is more entertainning than the actual movie💀.
yupp
I fell asleep in the beginning of the movie and woke up at the end lmao and I didn’t even plan it
This is kinda sad. but true
I couldn't watch 10 minutes without getting bored. Never finished it
From Facilier and Ursula's manipulation to Scar's mask-off evil king mode and Frollo's "I'm better than all of you" attitude.
Perfect description
and if the movie had been done justice these themes could have been played out completely as either and individual piece or as a longer developed sequence.
Starting in the coercive feel of Facilier
Migrating into the cost and "toll" of granting wishes for "nothing" like Ursula
transferring into the self assured and vengeful Scar
And completing a round off of pomp and self rightousness as Frolo
Done over a longer sequence rather than a one off song would allow the motif to change and twist and allow a "mask" to fall off of the King. and you could then allow the king to complete the sequence with harvesting/devouring/absorbing a wish from someone that dies and the "power" of that being a driver to fuel the "evil ambition" of our vilian.
“I forgave, not forgot” is such a powerful line.
"I forgave but not forgot"
*CHILLS*
I could see this being like a sequence of reprises throughout the movie paying homage to the Disney villain songs….Linda like how the entire movie was paying homage to Disney movies
You know, if I had a nickel for every time someone wrote a proper villain song for Wish where King Magnifico's lines are sung by Caleb Hyles, I'd have two nickels . . .I know that's not a lot, but it's weird that there's two of them.
Beat me to it
Dr. Doofenshmirtz has some good villain songs to his name
where is the other one?
which isnt a lot, but its weird that it happened twice
Nice reference 😂
My heart broke.
literally a hero and he's so good at it too
@@simsgirl1235 Has anyone asked him what his wish would be? Did it ever come true?
If I were the king, I'd have children and pass on the wisdom to my offspring.
@@TylerMcNamer My sis and I theorized that the king and queen tried to have kids, that having a child was their wish, but something happened and they lost the child. Then, because of that incident, they were unable to have more. We thought it'd be good backstory and add some depth coz it's strange they don't have an heir.
Sometimes cousins or nephews would be chosen as heir when the king and queen didn't have a child......but they didn't have anyone.
Magnifico was so oddly portrayed in the promotional material that i thought that he was going to be a twist protagonist instead of twist villain.
So be careful.)
*Magnifico turning a human mannequin into a frog, to reference Dr Facilier's curse that he uses in the ending section of 'Friends On The Other Side.'*
*Magnifico uses his magic to call on a group of eels to play the brass section for Ursala's part, referencing Flotsam and Jetsam from The Little Mermaid*
*Magnifico (as Scar) stands over a wish of Mufasa becoming the king of the Pridelands, and then he forcefully throws it off the tower to reference the emotional 'Long Live the King' scene from The Lion King. Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed would make an appearance in the background orchestra, probably on the marimba, drums, and xylophone. There would also be green flames and steam used as visual effects to reference Scar's villain song 'Be Prepared.'*
*And lastly, Magnifico as Frollo with the tower's windows in a shade of red to reference the song 'Hellfire'.*
*For the Aladdin reference, he'd pull down a wish of a young boy and girl who look similar to Aladdin and Jasmine sitting on a magic carpet, referencing the song 'A Whole New World'.*
"I forgave, not forgot" 😮😮😮 Caleb's voice was perfect for this line, so dark and devious, I love that it gives a background to the King's thoughts about what happened to his home. I do wish that was more explored in the movie!!
Yes the chillsssss 😅
@@robbybevard8034 totally agree
@@robbybevard8034 Ok I was looking for this comment. i love everything about this except that it feels very jarring to jump from one villain theme to the next. If, like you said, it was massaged out or just broken up across the movie then it would be amazing
THE VOCAL RANGE OH MY GOD?!
Holy cow the Frollo part literally took me aback, that was SO cool. Already a million times better-your friend is phenomenal! Great subtle impressions too to fit the inspired parts!
I also love how the meaning of the phrase changes, from "People aren't recognizing what I do for them" with images of great things he's done then describing people differing and bowing to him, now it means "This is the thanks I understand", then crescendoing to absolute rule being given to Magnifico, now almost meaning "This is what I will have"
Without changing the words, they have taken a much more sinister meaning that would fit a much more evil villian
Full versions of each! Ohh that’s a fun idea!!
@@PixelPlayhouse then do a Mashup of all voices at once at the end
Ok I thought it sounded pretty fair with all four pieces 💀
But overall it's still great.
the melody is so much better now, it actually portrays magnifico's bitterness and rage in a way that isn't absolute cringe.
6:18 the skills of this man! I got chills
But this tribute to past villains in their styles is still epic and enough of substitute for that ♥
I like this one but it could use the original as part of it as well.

The fact this immediately got me singing along and hits harder than the movie could EVER
Frollo version would fit so much
"Make villains, actually villainous." Honestly, that's why the only part of "This is the thanks I get" for the original, that I even liked, was at the very end when he was clearly losing it.
WELL!!!
So there's a toxic cycle that often occurs the workplace that I think would've been PERFECT villain motivation:
1. Underlings look to leader for affirmation
2. Leader interprets this as a need for guidance
3. Leader begins more closely managing everything
4. Underlings begin resenting the leader for micromanaging everything
5. Leader begins resenting underlings for needing constant supervision
If I was writing Wish, I would've used this cycle as the central conflict for the film, being the motivation for BOTH the hero and villain.
Oh my god, this is so good. Not only the demeaning nature of it for both parties but that neither really wanted it to turn out this way, but this is how it is now and there's no turning back
THERE Disney! Was that really so hard?
You nailed it, this is perfect! I've already listened to this three times!
I think all four versions are awesome and would love to hear each one as their own full version
maybe you could also do a version of this song in mother gothel's style
God I ADORE how you encapsulated the different styles of all four movies because Wish was made as an ANNIVERSARY to Disney. So having this musical call back means SO so much in terms of symboism
OK, that was way better than what we actually got, and it made more sense!
Forget Wish's og songwriters, they should just hire you. I'll be honest i didn't expect your remake to be that good
Extremely rude to say.
i love how expressive caleb is while singing!!! it really does help his singing have more emotion
I'm obsessed with the Ursula inspired section. It's all phenomenal but that part in particular, amazing
1st part:"this is the thanks i get" is the only one i feel that's been dragged but the rest is just ear candy, but that might be me cuz "his" song has been my fav
2nd:just feels right, almost too right to fit with the character(but if they changed the character as you said then this is the most fitting one). 4:42 PLEUWH🗣
3rd:honestly it feels like a sidekick backing up the main villan. 5:08 he said the thing!
4th:that drop at the start gives the whole part a confrontation vibe instead of a breaking point. Also "i forgave not forgot" is a banger to drop on someone
#4 can be used right before a battle scene towards the end.
The villan of wish reminds me of a dad saying "I give you food and roof over your head!" but it is actually so much more then the usual parent does.
i really love the idea o mashing 4 different styles in it especially knowing wish was supposed to be a celebration of disney movies, it feels like a clever way to reference old movies, on top of sounding great
3:54 I can’t I hear Olaf singing “just imagine how much cooler I’ll be in summer” to that beat.
The rewrite is very good! But it does sound like 4 different songs combined together
That was kinda the idea, inspired by different big classic villains… oh and frollo is my fav
lots of musicals do that kind of thing where its still the same song but the tone and instrumentation changes. i personally love the idea, its like each verse he gets more and more sinister!
Honestly would’ve matched tho considering that Wish is supposed to have tons of references from past movies
@@TheFinalBoss-ni7dv While referencing is the point for Wish. If there is too much, it might look like it’s just meant to be that without a story. This song, in my opinion, won’t fit well with the villain and story about wishes.

Man, that Scar part served a perfect Javert!!!
The good part about Wish not being good, is amazing things like this happening! This is SO cool !!
Disappointment is one hell of a creativity source
After watching so much about wish I forgot what disney villain songs were even supposed to sound like and this made me remember
The line "Surround yourself with 'yes'es and you'll never hear a 'no' " caught me so off guard in the best way possible
3:53 This part here gave me Goosebumps, seriously, this is Powerful
This is mad impressive! Amazingly written and performed!
