I love the villains role here. They are meta-aware of their important role in a story and are proud of what they mean to storytelling and teaching children.
@@PixelPlayhouse Do you think you’ll do a video where Bob interacts with heroes of the past to complain? What how the heroes of the day are absolutely selfish and corrupt, and probably even worse than the villains than they’re fighting?
Well not entirely, but yes. I mean outside of the movies. Many Disney Television Animation shows such as Amphibia, The Owl House, and even The Ghost and Molly McGee; have held onto the heroes and villains trope. Because they gave us some truly evil villains. And while WDAS has unfortunately been playing safe out of the fear from parents complain about scared kids, they are making bold moves with other studios. I mean Infinity Ultron from Marvel’s What If is DEFINITELY one of Marvel and Disney’s darkest and boldest moves in their recent track record. And while Star Wars has of course been a roller coaster of ups and downs with the ever-infamous Fandom Menace, they still make some bold and dark moves themselves. So while Walt Disney Animation Studios is thankfully bringing back evil villains with Moana 2 coming soon, they really need to start taking risks again.
Part of that is due to their politics. They are scared to make female characters proper villains that aren't redeemed, or risk backlash from activists, thus you have things like Encanto, turning red, inside out two, Obiwan, etc. the same with the remakes with female villains being done to look like they are justified, like Maleficent, etc. its part of the reason why Andor received such a positive reaction compared to activists, because it had female villains who stayed villains. And that was only due to Kathleen Kennedy being kept away from it. The whole situation is rather sexist in itself, as they keep the male villains the same, like in wish where there was supposed to be an evil couple, the queen got turned into a victim from the 'evil narcissistic king'
@@dragonsman4733 That is a good explanation, but TBF Encanto and Inside Out 2 weren’t bad movies at all, if anything they were some of the few good things to come out of Disney in the 2020s. And while I do have mixed feelings about Turning Red, I do feel like that film is overhated by the public. I think the last two times Disney made a female a villain unredeeemable aside from Andor were Dawn Bellwether in Zootopia and The Screenslaver in Incredibles 2, both of which were handled poorly admittedly, but unlike Incredibles 2, I still enjoyed Zootopia for what it was. And finally, for Wish, while I do feel like the “evil power couple” concept should have stayed, at the same time Magnifico was still pretty evil. He prepulated his kingdom solely on wishes, the idea, and concept of wishes, and drew in those desperate on wishes like sheep. Magnifico may be a flawed villain and could have been written better, but he’s still pretty twisted and evil. He’s, for lack of a better term, a man who lost his way in his pursuit. The pathway to Hell is paved with good intentions. He controls wishes so that nothing is out of control like when he was younger, and he’s a cult leader with only some sympathetic perspective that got thrown out of the window halfway through the movie. He’s not “the true hero” or “a victim” as many claim, he’s still a villain. A control freak of a king who finally showed his true colors.
"Fairy tales do not tell children there are dragons. Children already know there are dragons. What the fairy tale provides is a St. George to slay them." - G.K. Chesterton. Seriously you seriously understood the point of villains and also the song sounds REALLY GOOD
@@albertoromero5075 That doesn't change the truth of what I said, and that Disney has been slacking on giving out good villains lately. Also I'm pretty sure blaming the CEO when *his* company is going bad is a pretty fair thing to do.
It's a shame that Sindrome and Shan Yu don't have a song, even though it's good seeing what they are, I think they're fine the way they are xD Even though it would be cool to hear them both sing@@jaketaller8567
@@PixelPlayhouse I do wish each one of the fan-favorite villains got their own section…. Mostly since then the song would be longer haha Oh and I know he’s not one of the classic villains but Emperor Belos of the Owl House is by far the scariest villains of the Disney catalog. His motivations are the same as so many of the real life evil villains of the real world. I’m 23 and he freaking terrifies me… because well spoilers ;) No but seriously some of the he canonically did is some horror movie sh t. And he does it all genuinely believing he’s the good guy. The show had good representation, but it did suffer a bit from the fact the management only gave them 2.5 seasons. Because they didn’t know they had a good thing… despite all the people telling them they loved the show.
@@opalishmoth8591absolutely. I’ve been spooked by Belos because of how horrifyingly realistic he is. He is a great villain because of this, he has a stake and that is pure hatred for those different than him. And that makes him horrifying. He’s not looking for absolute power or authority, he’s looking for the destruction of an entire group, more than one, hundreds. Seeing him destroy palisman when we know they have thoughts and feelings, it’s heartbreaking and really says a lot about him. Love Belos as a villain.
Seriously, it teaches really good lessons. Gothel helps children in abusive situations break free, Facilier teaches children to be careful what they wish for, Frollo teaches them to stand up for the rights of others who are abused, Cruella teaches them the evils of greed, that it will kill and take innocent lives if not reigned in. Gaston that a good looking person isn’t always the best person. Scar teaches not to always believe adults, even if they are your family. Teaches you to question someone’s morals. Ursula teaches that you should be careful who you trust. They show you these evils in the world, animal cruelty, prejudice, the horrors that can come with religion, greed, lies and deceit, and they teach you to fight back against them. Let’s look at some other villains from Disney’s catalog, some more recent yet still good villains. Te ka. Te ka is not technically a villain, but it teaches us that we shouldn’t mess with nature or it will be our destruction, as we see with te ka and te Fiti. Abuela, I’d say she counts as a villain because of what she did to Mirabelle I mean geez. But anyway, it teaches us that abuse, even from those we love for who we are isn’t right. It could also be a lesson to not judge others who don’t have these ‘gifts’ like Mirabelle, who in this family may be akin to a disabled child in the message. Belos who teaches us not to believe everything this world tells us, and to find out for ourselves, to decide what we believe. (Also normalising gay people which is great) and there’s even more. Jafar, Maleficent, they’re all teaching something. And magnífico could’ve been one of those villains.
@@albertoromero5075 Too late. There's an animation being done by a random commenter. Also, if you don't want to get involved in this, stay out of it! Tune your YT recommendations and what you access on the net! That's what I do.
Anybody else think it's ironic that Frollo is the one going on about children growing up, needing true magic and living 100 lifetimes? Seems like that kind of stuff would be more up Gothel's alley. As Frollo attempts to set fire to her.
One might argue that’s a loose interpretation of Christian ideals. Then again, you can argue pretty much anything is a loose interpretation of Christian ideals
Well, Gothel is the villain that sings about children growing up, wich is something that is quite contradicting her character since ahe is about not aging/ staying youthful
@@annaoldenbeuving4498I think it’s referencing how Rapunzel grew up actually. And what did Rapunzel do when she grew up? Saw through Gothel. So it makes sense for her to sing about this.
All of the issues with modern Disney are summarized in killer verse with amazing vocals!! Absolutely splendid. One of my favorite parts was when they said "You teach them evil's awful, and you teach them to prevail." That is the whole point of writing evil characters: to teach about good. It's the same problem with the new Avatar remake removing Sokka's sexism because it was bad. That's the point; he learned his worldview was flawed and was humble enough to reform his ways. A character's flaws and the triumph over those flaws or the good characters triumphing over the evil characters are the whole point. Good cannot be taught without showing evil.
Yeah the whole point of avatar’s sexism plot is to teach little boys not to be sexist and to teach little girls that they should fight for themselves, to be brave against what others say. It’s proven to be wrong so kids won’t be sexist. The whole point of the remake was to not be sexist, but the original’s point is to make sure people actively don’t fall into it. I can say the same for the ableism Toph faces, parents watching would realise how their actions could affect their child so they believe in and support their disabled children now. That’s the kind of thing this show teaches by showing the bad. Disney should be doing the exact same thing avatar did, make bad people so you can show the children who *not* to be. It works perfectly in Mulan, I think wish could’ve been perfect if it brought back those themes, teaching children what they need to know. But I think wish would’ve been really good if it showed that not everything is black and white as a lesson to teach as well. Yes there’s a classic villain, but he has good intentions, which make the hero realise her own faults within herself without admitting ever that the villain is right or ‘redeemed’ or ‘misunderstood’ because he had one good point, that does not make him good. The hero has many flaws, that does not make her bad. Okay maybe I need to go rewrite wish. 😂
@@Muffinschaos Great thoughts. Having gray villains can help expose that no one is perfect, not even the heroes. And clearly evil, but complex and compelling villains that the heroes defeat promotes good and exposes the types of evil children will encounter so they are prepared. And also I totally agree that wish needs to be rewritten. I want the Disney fandom to raise funds to make an entirely new and better of Wish, because the community responded with some seriously creative ideas of what Wish should have been. 😇
@@XarisCoffeen I have some ideas which I’d like to mention here if we’d ever make some kind of movie about this: First of all, shades of grey. Let’s see how we can give Asha a flaw in herself, and Magnífico something good. Magnifico is technically right that not every wish can be granted. Let’s say that a few years into ruling his kingdom, he gave the wrong wish to someone. They wreaked havoc until he took their wish away. He has a good intention now, wanting to make sure no wish does that again by giving them very slowly. This is both flawed and righteous logic, which makes a conflicted movie. He may not go about things the right way, but he is technically right. Asha’s character. I’ve seen suggestions that she could’ve been Magnifico’s daughter. I love this personally. It gives her conflict and it gives her a reason to trust her father at first, before suspicion sneaks in. Asha sees the wishes and wonders why she can’t get hers. After all, her father knows she has a good wish. Magnífico on principle is still not going to do it right now, which gives Asha anger among other things her father is doing, as she notices how poor people in the streets are, and Magnífico just ignores it like it’s nothing. She is naive to the kingdom because Magnífico never told her anything about it, and she has been too laidback about it. Now she has a fire in her which has sparked, and she runs away to see the kingdom for herself. She can’t find money at all, so she steals (Aladdin style) she eventually is found by the man who would’ve been her grandfather in the og story, who takes her in and who tells her about his wish using art so it isn’t fully spoken (a way to add the 2D animation back). Now she has a resolve to give back wishes to the right people. Now for the star. Starboy has been given hope he’s lost by seeing the world by Asha, and he forces himself out of the sky, but he ends up becoming a cracked star. Asha finds him unconscious on the floor and takes him back, saving him. Now they have a time limit, they need to get back Asha’s wish before Starboy dies. This is what I have myself, I think it needs some work but I love it, I’m open to your suggestions! (:
Nowadays, Disney reminds me of a satirical story from my childhood, where a storyteller goes to babysit a little boy and tries telling him a fairytale, but the boy keeps saying that there shouldn’t be any evil in a story. So, the storyteller goes home and writes a fairy tale with no conflict whatsoever. However, when he presents it to the child, his reaction is “What a boring fairytale”. The moral is that conflict in a story gives it the needed salt and pepper to make it interesting enough for the readers to keep on reading it. Same goes for movies. And most any art form.
@@michahyu I agree! Just imagine: Evil Queen as The Ghost of Disney Past; Magnifico as The Ghost of Present; and Hades as The Disney Future. (I know, Magnifico is not classic and never be one, but he just seems fitting.)
@@PatatthecityYeah,that would make a lot of sense, and if the villains are symbolizing the ghost from the past, then I think it would make sense that the Disney heroes from the past would represent the present and I feel like that would leave for them to show on how Disney is currently suffering because of his actions and that would also how he herded his own coworkers and fellow animators, and that only leaves us on who could fill in the role of the ghost of the future or Christmases yet to come.
@@Patatthecity And I wouldn’t be surprised if this song actually decides to have a sequel with the heroes confronting Bob about his choices in the the present and how the heroes of now are just selfish jerks who don’t seem to care about doing the right thing.
As a long time Disney fan, never once I thought I'd see a bunch of Disney fans have a go at the thing they love because they made stupid decisions after stupid decisions... kudos! Nice to know I'm not the only one 🙌🙌🙌
This song is basically telling Bob “you reap what you sow” and I love it. I think we can all agree that while Michael Eisner was just a fallen angel/icarus, Iger was a demon dressed in angel’s clothing.
......... First of all, you know you're in serious trouble when even the villains are calling you out on your greed and lack of true magic. Second, THIS SONG SERIOUSLY NEEDS TO BE ANIMATED!!!
i love how this popped up right after i came up with a disneyesque musical project idea with a villain based on king midas + my country's most infamous dictator, who turns his critics into gold and then melts them to make more wealth (kids shows need real villains because so many kids are already facing villains in real life)
This was wonderful and delivers a true message that many Disney fans feel right now through a song better than some Disney has been producing lately. Props to everyone in this video, you all nailed your roles beautifully! 💜
It's just amazing! But now all my brain wants is a full-fledged "A Disney Carol", lol. We have these villains as "Marley's ghost", now we need other characters playing roles of Three Ghosts (personally, I see Hades as The Ghost of the -Christmas- Disney Future. Seriously, he deserves some tribute... And song).
@Anne_Drawings personally, I thought that the Ghost of the Past could be Snow White (well, or the Evil Queen, if we limit ourselves to villains). After all, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was the studio's first big, really big risk. I think she could remind us that Disney was once not afraid to experiment and create new things; that's why we loved Disney. As for the Ghost of the Present, I thought that Magnifico could take this role. I mean, who better to portray modern Disney, which is increasingly becoming a parody of itself, than a villain, which at best can only be called a parody of a villain?
@@halitov3836 Good idea, but i thought that making the ghost of the past the old mascot would englobe all of the golden age movies AND show what they were and lost
Ebenezer Scrooge McDuck needed 4 ghosts (including Jacob Marley) to help him see the errors of his way. Bob Iger needed a Disney villains chorus to do the same. Makes you wonder who the real miser is?
I mean,at least Scrooge had a reason for why he has been acting the way that he does,I’m not even sure if Bob has a good reason for why he’s acting the way he does.
And at least Scrooge at the end of the story he is able to turn his life around and become a better person and I actually imagine that maybe he goes on to help with ending the industrial revolutions port treatment of children and employment, and trying to get fair wages for employees because now he knows that how people suffer a lot because of the industrial revolution despite all the good things that I can bring he knows that they are terrible work conditions that need to be better for humanity and most importantly kids and you know it’s actually starting to mirror the real life indications with what’s going on in the animation industry recently.
@@BananaBoi_123 So it might even have to take heroes of former films to call out Disney for awfulness to Bob? I think that’s what it’s going to take and that if that’s not enough,I think I have one more thing that might be enough for to get them to change.
@@BananaBoi_123 I think it’s gonna take the entire old cartoons of Disney like Mickey Mouse Scrooge,Donald,Goofy,Minnie mouse, and probably a lot of characters from the golden Age of Disney to actually show how awful Disney is and if they don’t change their ways they’re just gonna become a fallen empire.
When random people can make a better villain song than actual Disney...this would be a beautiful kick in the teeth if Disney actually saw it....lovely work by the way.....amazing how u captured the true essence of all those villains in that one song...what i wouldn't give to see a movie where they all actually come together to have an intervention regarding current Disney
All they needed was Hades, then they’d have all 4 of my Comfort Characters that are Disney Villains :,3 But this SONG. This song is what I’ve needed all these years. I’ve always been hyper fixated on Disney’s Villains, and it’s been so depressing to see all these movies without them. Wish was probably the most disappointing, with the sliver of hope for a classic, original antagonist. But nope. Everything about that movie sucks. Point is, my Disney Villain Comfort Characters and I really love this song, and I am so sad that I won’t be there if Disney actually watches this! Thanks for this masterpiece
The song itself is a necessary masterpiece, but all that's really missing now is for it to get fully animated by the cooperation of several skilful TH-cam artists
So, so much truth. This song really to the poor unfortunate truth that Disney has seemed to become these days. I really miss the time when the Disney movies content were actually good. Not seeming like dried out storylines, or giving us villains that really aren’t like they were before. Maleficent, Cruella Deville, Ursula, those are golden villains. I wonder what the villains would have to say about some of the other poor unfortunate truths that Disney seems to have these days. For example, I wonder what Prince John, Sykes, Clayton, and some of those other Disney villains would say about that.
@@daniellesmusicaladventures9700 And to be honest,we actually haven’t seen Chernebog in a very long time because he’s only made his only appearance in the final version of Disney’s songs based off popular songs around the world.🌎
Dumb decisions after another, the magic most of us felt growing up was dwindling and fading. Most of the time we get a masterpiece like Epic Mickey or Ducktales, but put in a boring song, an easy plotline and meager storytelling, that draws the line!
Worth pointing it that Disney's recent shift to quantity over quality and fall to mediocrity mostly happened during Bob Chapek's tenure. Remember that movies take years to make.
Oh absolutely! Which is why they asked bob to “save us” and the points they made are more about where the company is right now. I know he’s controversial, but I’m a fan of Iger. I’ve read his book, which was very influential in my life, and even did his masterclass. My morning routine I even based on his! I do believe he will figure it out, he’s said in interviews one of his top priorities is getting creative right
Yes, but with that in mind a lot of the flops from Chapek’s tenure were started in Iger’s first tenure as CEO as well because, as you said, movies take years and Chapek wasn’t CEO for very long. That’s not even going into other topics as well.
@@PixelPlayhouse I liked his book too and I think he is the best CEO Disney had since Walt. For a rich executive, he is quite respectable. I do wish he were less obsessed with IP (and live-action remakes thereof) and I want some fresh blood soon, but he seems to be doing his best to right the ship.
Reminds me of Twisted. You know, the StarKid song that Disney villains sing on "Twisted: The Untold Story of a Royal Vizier". And in a really good way. Iger's Scrooge, and the villains being Ghosts of Disney Past. Hope they listen to the song. I LOVE THIS.
THIS is GOLD! Not only are all the vocal performances stellar, but the commentary is spot-on. If a story is going to be remembered, it needs to have something worth remembering. Which, I must add, this musical most certainly does.
Love this! Love the villains’ awareness and pride in their purpose and them banding together to remind the CEO of what Disney is supposed to be! Disney has been falling flat with their cookie cutter main characters, same personality different name. And their lack of a true villain. Disney villains used to be actually unnerving, diabolical enough to teach us what evil was and what it takes to overcome it without being so horrific that kids shouldn’t watch the movies. They sometimes even provided some humor! They were teachers as much as the heroes were! Disney has indeed forgotten the full scope of their audience. Too often I have I found myself lamenting the increasing decline in the quality of their movies and comparing to the ones I watched as I grew up. And don’t get me started on the number of remakes! Thanks for doing this song with the villains, only they could have gotten the point across! And I love how this sounds like a true Disney villain song!

You are inspiring people like me to create stories that will last a lifetime. I hope you continue making this content with support from me and the fans out there who deserve a better future for the Disney Studio. LET'S BRING BACK THE MAGIC!!
Fortunately for us, Bob is stepping down as CEO soon and hopefully the moment he retires, things might get better. Slowly but surely, that is. 👏 Wonderful performance, nonetheless! Love the Christmas Carol vibe behind the video's picture, too. 👻
Yeah do a Disney Carol that will make Bob Iger remember what true great story telling is all in one night, two weeks before he's getting booted from his CEO seat.....Really nailing that time is of the essence thing here.
This video reminds me of the Disney most of us grew up with. The Disney that actually teaches you morals. Yes, some of the stories may be dark and "frightening" but that's life. As much good there is in this world, there is also evil. And especially because children are the most vulnerable, they should learn about these things as young as possible. This video is literally chef's kiss
yeah but remember what happened last time he stepped down, I'm scared of another Chapek. I'm not saying Iger is innocent in this! I'm just saying that it could always get worse.
@@marielsea2292 Yes. But I'm afraid it's useless to be pessimistic about it. Disney's reputation for potential creativity bounced back last decade. It even did so during the Disney Renaissance from 1989 to 1999 after the success of "The Little Mermaid", which was after the Dark Age of Disney in the earlier 80s. Therefore, greed or no greed, another redeeming moment might happen again, too. Even if we were to experience something all over again like what we're suffering now, there's still a likely chance the abundance of fresh or proper stories will eventually emerge once more.
A few modern Disney movies have an overall theme of, essentially, healing is possible. And it's good that they branched out. But yes, children need the balance. You can both face the evils of the world and win, and you can heal from the damages they cause afterwards. You can't talk about healing if there's nothing to heal *from*
I love this so much 😍😍😍😍. We should get a part two to hear some words from Jafar, Hades, Sher Khan, Captain Hook, Maleficent, Lady Tremaine(Cinderella's stepmother), the Evil Queen(Snow White) and Ratcliffe (Pocahontas) Then maybe a third part with the protagonists agreeing with the villains and mention how they really don't see how a hero is supposed to grow and rise to challenge if their isn't a good villain to counter them.
You know things are bad when the villains of the story are the ones left to save everything that the heroes where protecting great project and if I wasn't subscribed to you guys before I am now :D keep up the good work you should do a hero one with the same concept.
Everyone’s voices in this are all 10/10. One of the most amazing sounding songs I’ve heard in a long time. Not only that but this genuinely sounds like pure classic Disney. Well done!
I'm gonna be honest. I've thought about making a story where the villain is entirely not evil but they believe its their whole mission to challenge the heroes to go the extra mile so that when real evil shows up, the hero is ready.

I believe a charming villain once said: "There are two sides to every story, & our side has not been told!" If this is what the villains are saying, then I can understand why they would be caring, in their own unique way. 😅
Wow, now that was an amazing song and basically it’s really weird but it is definitely right. Plus in the live action movies the people that actually care about the product aren’t really the people that play the heroes, they are the people that play the villains.
That's Brian Hull. As awesome as he is, he is not an official Mickey VA. (Should be tho!) He is a super talented impressionist with his own TH-cam channel.
This song proves how disney needs to stop making villain movies that explain how they become evil because that makes them a hero then you can’t tell who is the hero and who is the villain you need to have a villain to see what evil looks like just like the song says then see what good is so kids and adults can learn a lesson and make the world better
Perhaps she is hiding for a sequel song where she gets to cry that of course she must be a dragon for fairy tales exist not to tell children that dragons are real, but that they CAN be beaten.

I do wish each one of the fan-favorite villains got their own section…. Mostly since then the song would be longer haha
Oh and I know he’s not one of the classic villains but Emperor Belos of the Owl House is by far the scariest villains of the Disney catalog.
His motivations are the same as so many of the real life evil villains of the real world.
I’m 23 and he freaking terrifies me… because well spoilers ;)
No but seriously some of the he canonically did is some horror movie sh t. And he does it all genuinely believing he’s the good guy.
The show had good representation, but it did suffer a bit from the fact the management only gave them 2.5 seasons. Because they didn’t know they had a good thing… despite all the people telling them they loved the show.
@@PixelPlayhouseyes Iger is.

@@Muffinschaos you have a good point!! Thanks buddy!
True, but those lyrics sound so epic when Frollo sings them
All of the issues with modern Disney are summarized in killer verse with amazing vocals!!
@@XarisCoffeen I have some ideas which I’d like to mention here if we’d ever make some kind of movie about this:
First of all, shades of grey.
Honestly wish the girl who voiced Cruella sang more, I LOVE Cruella's tone so it would've been amazing to hear more of her

@@michahyu I agree! Just imagine: Evil Queen as The Ghost of Disney Past; Magnifico as The Ghost of Present; and Hades as The Disney Future.

And song).

Original walt disney mickey would be the ghost of Disney's past, i have no idea for the ghost of the present tho
The entire villain chorus isn't even enough, some are too villainous and greedy that it's unable to change their ways

It even did so during the Disney Renaissance from 1989 to 1999 after the success of "The Little Mermaid", which was after the Dark Age of Disney in the earlier 80s. Therefore, greed or no greed, another redeeming moment might happen again, too. There are three main ingredients to a good Disney movie.
1. A hero people can relate to.
2. A sidekick everyone will love.
3. A villain to hate.
This song proves how disney needs to stop making villain movies that explain how they become evil because that makes them a hero then you can’t tell who is the hero and who is the villain you need to have a villain to see what evil looks like just like the song says then see what good is so kids and adults can learn a lesson and make the world better
