I had completely forgotten about the superhero variants. I only remembered the Warcraft mod. Such good times. These mods were better than most hero shooters out there.
I still remember the first time I played superhero mod, back then the servers of it were full and often I would try to let 2 high level players fight it out and snipe one of them in order to get a massive stack of EXP, once i got to max I truly felt like all of my effort was worth it, the progression in that mod was crazy, especially with more levels and custom heroes added. I loved superhero mod so much as a kid. I used to play on a server that had 150 levels (151 if you were admin) and it was addicting as hell. Do you by any chance remember the "PokeMod" gamemode where you could interact with a professor oak pokecenter shop in the spawn, level pokemon up by killing enemy players, and you could catch lvl 1 versions of an enemy player's pokemon if you bought pokeballs? That mode seems to be completely forgotten these days, but it was my favorite back in the day.
I remember having Morpheus + silver surfer which let you fly through walls, the floor and up into the sky without dying. Dominated the games then got banned for some reason and gave us CS completely lol

Man..i loved Warcraft mod i used to play css casually until i found my first ever live server with heaps of people all playing i spent so many hours grinding to unlock new races and levels, to the point where i reached the max and felt like i reached a new goal! i favorite race was called the Wisp and had 1hp but was completely invisible! but that was many years ago, i find myself playing surfing now thinking of the goods times when i played on those, i got to meet a guy on a surf server (the owner) and we ended up talking about my love for the warcraft mod and he said he would make a live server with the newst warcraft mod on css , its been a blast playing it again even if its just with bots or the odd person who joins but still i find myself lucky to be able to replay the same race i once did, or re grind all night and quickly swap to the next race wheni unlock it!
Didn't know about Gold Source Saturday, have to check it out, thanks! Just wondering, how old are you? (approximately) :D Since your profile says you're old and grew up with CS 1.6. From your voice I would think you're not older than 20.
Haha I'm in my early 30s. No offence taken! My other video "Growing Up Playing Counter-Strike 1.6 in 2003" addresses the question, did krazzy go through puberty?? Still can't tell ya if I did! Thanks for the comment.
@@krazzy6440 I would say this isn't a bad thing! Haha I didn't see that video yet, but will watch it later for sure! All your other videos I watched are right up my alley, keep 'em coming.
If you have a few buddies that play 1.6, sure you can play it again! Sadly, there aren't any 24/7 stacked servers playing these mods anymore. Not that I've seen at least.
it was similar to war3 but you picked up items instead of used skills if I remember correctly. I vaguely remember running a server for a group of friends back in 2005 with it lol
I remember stumbling upon a superhero server that had levels go up to 30 or something. I think it took all 3 months of my summer school break playing on that server to reach the max level, it was awesome. And there is still something that I can't figure out. One that server, there was a custom hero called Veronica that had as an ability a special AK 47, however, I can't find any character in anime or movie or whatever called Veronica that uses and AK. Does anyone know about something like that?
@@krazzy6440 That was my guess as well given the RE Code: Veronica game, however that was the name of the virus from what I've read. Anyway, I've played on multiple SHero servers and that one was the only one with the Veronica hero so perhaps it was a mistake made by the owner that edited the mod and added this hero .
@@kobralazer Hey, sorry for necro, the mod was named like that by mistake by the creator and was never corrected, Claire's got that gun if i remember correctly. You can check on the alliedmodders page for Veronica
Once modding support comes back to the game I'm sure modders will port it over. Saw some videos of players messing around with Super Hero Mod in GO a while back. I'm sure any day now we'll see the mods up on some servers.
Up on researching for this video I was surprised to find out that the game modes were ported over to CSS and GO! Really amazed people took the time to port them over and a newer generation get to experience it.
I couldn't get superhero mod to work right how of the box at least with POD bot. WC3 works perfectly with POD bot which is what I use. You may notice during the superhero mod segment of the video that the bots don't use powers haha.
@@krazzy6440 Thanks for the info. I did see them use some WC3 powers, but I do not know if they are passive abilities, or active. I never played either of these power/rpg mods a lot, so I thought maybe I could give it a try with bots. It would be really cool if they can also use mod items as well as active abilities in WC3. Also, is there any specific version of AMX/podbot/WC3, etc. that all work well together? What do you use?
@@perfectlyroundcircle I used WC3 2.6.3. You can find it here: wc3mods.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=473 The AMXX version is 1.8.2 found here: www.amxmodx.org/downloads.php
@@krazzy6440 Awesome! Thanks a ton. I'll definitely set it up and try it. I love mods for old games with bot support. It's so important, since online communities just die in time. I'm glad many Half Life mods, too, have bots. I also remember playing Zombie Plague many, many years ago, with the Zbot. And I perfectly balanced the config so it's a challenge for playing solo, but also dark and scary.
@@krazzy6440 Hello friend, is there a tutorial on the installation process please? the files are there, but how do you set up a server and install those plugins? Is there a step-by-step guide anywhere? Thank you very much!!!!
Well these mods are kind of remnant of various ideas and attempts of random folks to bring something unusual to the game with to-be-developed experience in "game-balancing", as no one was really thinking about it in same way as developers and modders do today, I guess. Maybe such mods would survive longer popularity if had some match-making systems (like newcomers joining the server with only players on LVL 0/1/2 and high-level players being forwarded into second server just for them), but who would really thought about it (or even invest time / money to invent something like this). This could have good impact on both sides - new players get higher chance of advancing and feeling that playing this mod makes sense; "old" players would get frags that require more effort/challenge and maybe even feel better about it.
This is cool. But I literally struggle to find a zombie escape server with more then 2 people on it nowdays. Zombie basebuilder is basically dead in 2023.
Yeah it's unfortunate. I do see some zb servers fill up sometimes, but It's usually a non-steam server and players with pay to win features. Also to clarify, I mentioned zombies as a super hero and warcraft killer. @@krazzy6440 i know but I just wanted to mention that the zombie modes that came around during the late 2000s and early 2010s (besides zombie plauge) also died off.

Haha
I didn't see that video yet, but will watch it later for sure! All your other videos I watched are right up my alley, keep 'em coming.
Where can I download these mods and play against bots?
i spent a summer leveling and binding my skills on some server. then an admin used an AMX command and wiped out my binds. i got mad then he banned me.
:(
Cs1.6 + superhero mod = valorant
Haha, actually true to a degree.
league of legends + cs:source simpsons map = valorant.
@@Maximiliankovic ok that's closer to valorant😂
name of cs wc3 map 3:44?
aww bro i spotted that ac2 firenze music by the first second
A classic!
I always wondered why humans can turn invisible. It would make sense for night elfs.
Same here. I never played the original WC3 so maybe it was a class/hero thing.
Spooderman
What a great video, thanks.
Is any wc3 mod still around? please reply if there are.
Man i remember the race Chuck norris or venom op as fukkk
I was really hoping CS2 would build upon this.
Are there any active servers for any Mods anyone know of? Superhero? Pokemod?Soccer?
Is it not possible to play this anymore?
If you have a few buddies that play 1.6, sure you can play it again! Sadly, there aren't any 24/7 stacked servers playing these mods anymore. Not that I've seen at least.
great video as always, anyone remember the diablo mod for 1.6?
What is that one? I'd love to explore it.
I remember. Pretty similar to cod mode but more crazy.
it was similar to war3 but you picked up items instead of used skills if I remember correctly. I vaguely remember running a server for a group of friends back in 2005 with it lol
there's actually one very modded superhero server you didnt mention called niko's superhero server in cs 1.6
I think I know what the Talaban hero's power was.
Shhhhhh secret. :)
Hmm, I can only imagine it's a hero from Resident Evil? That's my best guess.
SOK and wolfplatoon were the best ones i played.
I want this to make a comeback is CS2. Is it even possible?
Superhero and Warcraft servers were the best
Once modding support comes back to the game I'm sure modders will port it over. Saw some videos of players messing around with Super Hero Mod in GO a while back. I'm sure any day now we'll see the mods up on some servers.
Great video
this was like crack to a 10 year old me
Chain lightning was extremely my shit
me to, i always played SH mod, but i got vac banned due to my account being hacked.. played something with shemrock server or so...
great video superhero are so css core - from radioheadfan91
Up on researching for this video I was surprised to find out that the game modes were ported over to CSS and GO! Really amazed people took the time to port them over and a newer generation get to experience it.
@@krazzy6440 i might have to play it on csgo, looks fun
Do the bots for this mod use all the features of the mod?
You can find it here: wc3mods.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=473
The AMXX version is 1.8.2 found here: www.amxmodx.org/downloads.php
This could have good impact on both sides - new players get higher chance of advancing and feeling that playing this mod makes sense; "old" players would get frags that require more effort/challenge and maybe even feel better about it.
bro suggested matchmaking for a cs 1.6 mod... its so over bros
Can you do a diablo mod on 1.6
What about critical grenades?
Like Hobgoblin in super hero mod?
@@krazzy6440 no I guess that's what the orc nade upgrade is. I was all about critical grenades.
is your gameplay footage against bots? or a server
Yes the gameplay was against bots. Would be a hard time finding populated human servers for these game modes today.
@@krazzy6440 oh wow the boys know how to use the hero commands. Interesting
YOUR CHANNEL IS OLDER THEN ME ,_,
:)
Need an active server has war3ft mod pls
Bro I had like 10k kills on hns mod with the knife
this is where valorant comes from
This is cool.
What I witnessed was a mass exodus from the game modes mentioned in the video to game modes like zombie mod(s) in the later 2000s-2010s.
@@krazzy6440 i know but I just wanted to mention that the zombie modes that came around during the late 2000s and early 2010s (besides zombie plauge) also died off.
What? Zombie escape is still popular. There are servers with 30 players.
basebuilder would be fun if people didnt nolife it and figure out how to build nearly inaccessible bases
i really hope wc mod comes back lol
i was the best player in superheroes mod people often called me hack best build is morpheus, capitain america, punisher ,dracula and some hp and shield
