    NPT is the acronym you were looking for which is National Pipe Taper but you can get swivels on any sort of connecitons same as you can with JIT

      @@EISAlaska No worries. I was trying to look up what advantages/disavantages that one has over the other and the issues that were brought up were from a vendor and seemed rather spurious. Like one of the issues mentioned was NPT has issues with cracked fittings due to overtightening which can be said of JIC fittings as well I believe so I'm not inclined to believe the issues mentioned in that comparison. NPT fittings have successfully been used for over 100 years so I'm not sure that JIC is really much better TBH. Just a different connection that they can likely charge more for as it's a more complex method to manufacture those types of fittings :/

    If the hydraulics okay we can catch some Halibut! Liked how you thought running water through to thread the hose easily through. Good to see Tristen. Was that a Crow squawking in the background? We have a family of crows nearby. They start the squawking convention early between 6-6:45 a.m.. Can't sleep. By the time you roll over thinking you may sneak a few z's, the neighbor starts. The crows were back in the evening sometimes between 6-7:00 p.m.. Noisy. Fall's upon us too.

    You probably already know it is sort of a shortcut to loosening a tight nut or bolt. I use it as a last shot effort. You can take to combination wrenches and snipe them together to give you more leverage. So take your box end that is the correct size, say 9/16 inches. Put that on your bolt head, leaving the open end available. Now take a combination wrench one to two sizes bigger and fit the box end over one of the open end prongs of you 9/16. You may have to try the curvature of the combination in both directions, then lift or push the wrenches keeping the perfectly lined up. You kind of have to watch the alignment when you put force to it, but it will give you better leverage. Just wear gloves okay, it can be hard on your knuckles but if you are in a bind it will help.

    So do all halibut go deep this time of year? or just the breeeding age ? and do they go into troughs or just deep flat areas during the winter season? I just wonder how you find halibut in the winter months. Its so much to learn.. I have brought my sport fishing boat over on the ferry to Kodiak once in May and had a great time exploring ..

    Matt, A nitpick but, the 90 deg bends at aft control station look vulnerable to damage. Not sure how, but things happen on a pitching deck! Maybe a bracket to cover or hardwood splints over and between lines might save the day?🤔

    Grainger has reasonably priced rigid SS welded hydraulic tubing. It is only in 6' lengths but can be flared, cut and bent. It is 304 grade and 316 is about the best. Not sure if 304 grade is suitable for your application. We usually used the line you are using but have run the welded SS line with great success especially when it gets buried in a wall. Priced does depend on thickness and pressure resistance needed 1/2 od w/ 2339 psi is around $25 per 6'. Shipping might be the kicker for you though plus you need to figure in fittings
    Just Saying and adding to the algorithm

    • @EISAlaska
      @EISAlaska  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Brin. I'm only seeing it at $50 plus for a 6' section. I wonder if they have commercial accounts? The shipping is a kicker though.

    Can you guys get and ship Alaskan King Crab? my usual supplier (Costco) has not had AKC for two years due to their supplier being Russian and the embargo of Russian products here? We have a tradition of feasting on AKC every New Year and steam about 20 lbs. Please let me know or point me to an independent US fishery like yourself. Thanks
