That engine room is looking good, so clean. The way you all have run, all the stainless steel fuel lines and stainless steel manifolds, you should never have any troubles with them. Same about the hydraulics for the steering. I love the way you all pay attention to detail. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
Well i am so happy to hear that y'all are ready to use emerald Isle.it has been a long time coming.and y'all have done such a amazing job.and yes the way y'all have set the camera up is perfect.
Boats looking really good. Those small details are the hardest to get done sometimes. Lots of stuff yet to do. Really enjoyed watching this project unfold. Keep up the great work and videos!
Yep, totally agree. The small things are always the most tedious and time consuming. There are quite a few things that can wait, we'll get back to wrapping up after fishing.
I've been watching quite awhile before you got the emerald Isle. You all have done a beautiful job on her. Always enjoy looking forward to the next video
Awesome guys! Your hard work and dedication paid off. Such a wonderful family business that makes all of us admirers proud of you. Thank you for sharing. 👍🐟
Looking very ship shape guys...huge change from where you started. Many, many hours of hard labor and noodle time making it all work to your satisfaction. Looking fwd to seeing vid of your first trip out.
Bravo à vous vous êtes très professionnel et méticuleux dans ce que vous faites.je vous regarde depuis le début et c'est toujours avec admiration.continuer comme ça dommage que je suis loin et bravo de la France 🎉
Great job! I have been watching you for quite a while, before you bought Emerald Isles. So excited for your family. Can't wait to watch you haul in your first catch. God bless you!
Good morning, guys. You have come a long way from when you brought her home. You both deserve a big pat on the back for the knowledge you have to do all the work that you have done. It looks great, and may the little things be done soon. Thanks for sharing your great videos and God bless you all.
Hi Tony. I may not have explained the location of the fuel tanks very well. Behind the aft fish hold there is a tankage compartment with two fuel tanks. Each holds 400 gallons. In the engine room there is a 150 gallon fuel tank on the port side. The starbord tank has been decommisioned. Likely we will remove it and fabricate a new tank that is integral to the hull, taking advantage of the space below it. That is a future us project though. Thanks for following along and see you again soon!
I've been watching from the start of when you got her! Shes come a long way! exciting that you guys are getting close!, super excited for her first fishing trip! What fishery will you break her in on?
That's for sure! Priority is getting our fishing gear finished up and deck prepared for longlining. There are some things that can be put on the back-burner for now and finished later.
Thanks Darren! We are pretty happy with the results although the timeline has slipped a bit. But that’s life 😂. At any rate we are close to slinging hooks and we appreciate all you great folks that have come along for the ride!
Everything is looking so good i can't wait for yall start using it. I would flowcoat the engine room white or gray and put up some shelves for extras like oil 🛢 etc. maybe a shelve for a tool box. Also yall really haven't shown all the sleeping counters i know there's like a full or queen size in the captains behind the dinette and I think theres two bunks downstairs?😊
Yeah water and electricity aren't friends! heh heh Gonna be exciting to check out you guys fishing on the new vessel! You mentioned that T was filming the concrete removal for the sump in the engine room, has he not really been in the game cuz it's more comfortable with only you and dad on the deck of the 'Tail and he'll be with you more on the Isle? Just curious how come he hasn't been around in the recent videos much. Pardon if a sensitive question.
That part you cut out on the side of the boat ,could you put in a ( roller ) to help pull in the halibut.sorry yes a spring loaded roller ,so it can be taken out when you want to replace the panal ,
I absolutely loved watching you guys work on this boat. I do have a question, on the front of the detroit when you walk in to the engine room will there be a cover for the belts on the front of the engine because it could be pretty dangerous if your clothes get caught in it when the engine is running and you need to close a valve or something. Keep up the awesome videos.
Where the railing is open, (where you haul in the halibut) have you considered hinging a piece of railing there. Flip it back for hauling and disembarking, in place for safety?
Don’t have any handheld extinguisher’s in engine room but there is a fixed automatic one. We also have two handheld right outside the engine room door.
Do you think you will need a radius on the rail where you will be dragging fish over the side. I can see fish catching on those tight angles. Bruce Australia 🇦🇺
Can you guys share your costs when the retrofit is completed? You guys are getting close! I been watching since before you purchased this boat and sailed it home.
We do pretty often, actually. If you look at the part with the mast, those green boxes towards the top are called HPS lamps, or high-pressure sodium, we just call them sodiums. They are 1k watts each and cast a bright oranged-hued light forwards.
I'm totally unfamiliar with commercial fishing, so tanking down: is that to add ballast when you're empty to get the draft deeper, making it more stable?
Great 👍I'm looking forward to the first fishing trip, it will be exciting to join the trip as a viewer 😊. When you are out for several days, where will you sleep, will it be upstairs or is there a small cabin below deck? it has become a beautiful boat, you are good 👏. I am preparing my boat for the lobster and crab season here in Norway
Both of you are not just professional fishermen but are great Engineers as well. I am looking forward to your next video, eagerly. Thank you.
Thanks 👍

Thanks James. It turned out pretty good. It really was a mess down there!
That engine room was a mess when you started. Love how clean it ended up. Love you videos and how your family interacts. Thanks, Mike

The boat is really coming along and looking great 👍. Like what you did for the helm looks real sharp.😊
Your both doing awesome on the boat revamp ,looking forward to seeing it when it’s all done and operational,
I've been sub'd for a few years now, I'm here to say. Yall are some amazing folks. I love the explaining yall do. Keep on keeping on.
Thanks for the walkaround Gents! Very interesting.
Awesome guys! Your hard work and dedication paid off. Such a wonderful family business that makes all of us admirers proud of you. Thank you for sharing. 👍🐟
Been watching from the beginning awesome journey can’t wait to see fish coming over the rail. Great job boys
Very interesting tour. Being that I know very little about fishing boats, I enjoyed learning.
Great job to you two! That was a lot of work. Enjoy watching your videos.
The rails and false deck look great!!
I really appreciate and enjoy watching the family business 👍👍🙂🙂👏👏
The only thing better than watching you fishing and working on the boat would be there with you.
Thank you John! That is so kind. We are glad you can join us on our YT channel.

Great job guys. She is almost ready. Yee haw!
👍 nice work
Thanx for the tour. Looks awesome
I guess the fuel storage is underneath the engine. Wow.. a very neat arrangement.

@@EISAlaska I can not wait for your next adventure with those newly equipped gears. Thank you again.
Where do you sleep when you stay out over night.
From when you first bought this boat to what you guys have accomplished is amazing.
What is plan for Fishtail after the Emerald Isle is up and running? Fun to watch your journey…
Fish Tale will keep working too. The halibut quota we own is called "d class" which is only harvestable on vessels
Let’s go fishing Emerald Isle.
Good brow
Have you thought about putting a portal on the cleaning area wall? Might be nice to see a bit…
We will! Some natural light and also being able to see around us.
Looks great guys! Will you have a bait launcher on the stern like you have on the Fish Tale?
Yes. Same one. We are setting it up now so we can swap between boats.
I've been watching from the start of when you got her! Shes come a long way! exciting that you guys are getting close!, super excited for her first fishing trip! What fishery will you break her in on?
Thanks for following along! The first fishery will be for halibut. We're working on the deck gear for longlining her now.
Are you guys going to be doing tanner crabs again?
Sounds like you guys have a lot of work to do yet. Maybe burn the Midnight Oil. 💪👏
That's for sure! Priority is getting our fishing gear finished up and deck prepared for longlining. There are some things that can be put on the back-burner for now and finished later.
Cool
I've been here for a couple of years before you bought the Emerald Isle
Been a subscriber since the beginning,
You should be feeling that shiver down the back of your neck,
THAT'S PRIDE!
Nice to see it all come together
Thanks Darren! We are pretty happy with the results although the timeline has slipped a bit. But that’s life 😂. At any rate we are close to slinging hooks and we appreciate all you great folks that have come along for the ride!

No worries. Both T and Mom have been busy in town. Editing video, shipping fish and taking care of the retail end of things.
Are you going to keep the Fishtale when the new boat is complete?
That part you cut out on the side of the boat ,could you put in a ( roller ) to help pull in the halibut.sorry yes a spring loaded roller ,so it can be taken out when you want to replace the panal ,
So when do you plan to fish Emerald Isle? Will you be fishing both boats at the same time or just one? Grate work.
Fish Tale will keep working too. The halibut quota we own is called "d class" which is only harvestable on vessels
@@EISAlaska Thanks

Probably tie a piece of line across it when traveling. The forward side of cutout will also get a rail, so it will be easy to tie across.
One motor, the green one, powers the boat drive. The white motor is an electrical power plant?
Yes. Smaller white motor is a 30kw 3 phase generator.
Hi guys , haven’t seen any fire extinguishers in the engine Bay Area , 😝
Don’t have any handheld extinguisher’s in engine room but there is a fixed automatic one. We also have two handheld right outside the engine room door.

It certainly would be helpful. That'll be a next season project.
Can you guys share your costs when the retrofit is completed? You guys are getting close! I been watching since before you purchased this boat and sailed it home.
So have you guys had a Detroit guy to come over and evaluate the health of the Detroit compression test? Visual inspection?
Ever travel at night, in the dark? Have themal or anything for night vision travel?
We do pretty often, actually. If you look at the part with the mast, those green boxes towards the top are called HPS lamps, or high-pressure sodium, we just call them sodiums. They are 1k watts each and cast a bright oranged-hued light forwards.
@@EISAlaska ah OK, I was trying to see in the video. Figured you'd travel some at night
I'm totally unfamiliar with commercial fishing, so tanking down: is that to add ballast when you're empty to get the draft deeper, making it more stable?
Mostly for live tanking crab and also fisheries that use RSW (Refigerated Sea Water) for chilling the catch, like salmon or cod.
Are you guys gonna end up doing dual Recor so you can swap one out underway and not lose power?
How do you clean under the raised deck??
Were you guys going to get a fuel spinner for clarification or is it kind of cost prohibitive?
👍👍👍👍💪💪💪💪
What about the crew area on the Emerald Isle?
What’s her length and beam?
Great 👍I'm looking forward to the first fishing trip, it will be exciting to join the trip as a viewer 😊. good show guys
