Valparaiso is not a jungle/forest it's more likely as a favela, the forest part is on outlands of the Valparaiso region maybe devs should have investigated about this chilean city, but it's a naval favela this map should have been as a naval/urban map, likewise as Nansha Strike but without islands and adding poor 19th century buildings

These kind of remakes can't beat a good classic game like BC2, BC2 is more atmospheric, Heli speed is normal, and the sounds fit well and it's also nostalgic. But it's nice to see that you can play the map in a new game with better graphics and new weapons and stuff....

BFBC2 had smoke lingering after destruction, weapons sounded more punchy/powerful with a more prominent reverb, death vocal and she'll shock was more dynamically immersive.
I do miss the BC2 Blackhawk's ability that gave you a second to bail out when hit vs the insta death in 2042 - also loved how the BC2 heli wreckage lingers

Are you drunk? There's obviously improvement in terms of shader, volumetrics, which affected reflections(leaves shine in 2042) and water quality. The only thing worse is just the less bigger destruction. So i think its 75% better.

So far in these Battlefield 2042 vs the Old Bad Company 2 we never saw the actual difference in a building *collapsing*. One of the nicer features in BC2. 🙂

it's interesting how they either skip the water splash after throwing a nade in the water depending on BC or 2042 and same when it comes to exploding under the water. Even crytek doing this part better than what dice do. In hunt: showdown if you throw down a dynamite you have the interaction when the dyanmite hit the water and also water throws up when the dynamite explodes. Like how it should work
2042s physics a little backwards if you ask me, as they removed diving which makes me think they’ve gone old school where the water has no mass underneath so if you manage to glitch your camera through on games like this you noticed there’s no water underneath the water top, guess you could say it’s just a well built 2d plane

Maybe in 5 years portal will be that all In one hub for all bf games. A place where you can taste all of them without having to buy every single game. And alsp mix and match them. For now though it's pretty lackluster and empty,only serving as a nostalgia dump.

I don't get why people think the fence destruction is unrealistic. It looks more realistic to me when those fences look flimsy as hell.
