    I just recently started to follow your channel - you make excellent videos, I really appreciate the details you go into. This ratchet is a game changer. I use it a lot these days (we are moving) together with my Skeletool. It performs flawlessly.

    Finally someone actually using it, rather than just talking about it or showing it in their kit. I appreciated the video, thank you.
    Is this now replacing the bit extension or do you carry both?

      Hi @@chrislawrence7 a lot of people really love this option and although I have never owned one I think that I should probably get one! The challenge we have in the UK, where I am from (I am not sure where you are based?), is that technically this is illegal for us to carry (because of the locking blade) and therefore hard to recommend as an EDC from a UK perspective. I do agree though the simple but great combination of tools with the Skeletool makes for a perfect carry and and the blade steel on the CX really adds to the quality and usefulness. Also, Bit exchanger and pliers are ideal implements (I'd miss scissors though) and belt clip should make for a perfect EDC where laws allow.

    • @JonGadget
      @JonGadget  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chrislawrence7 yes, unfortunately you need a good reason to be carrying a locking knife in the UK these days - blade length on any knife must also be max 3inches too - not ideal. Hence EDC challenges and why Victorinox fits so well.

    Leatherman are great tools, but still adjusting to my Wave+. I have moded my Wave sheath so can accommodate few bits,because it's smaller than the Surge sheat. But most of the time I have my tool in my pocket and that's why I want to mode my Wave so I don't need extra bits. I will make a video when I finish it. Yours is fairly new, because of the new style sheath. The ratchet looks useful. Made in Taiwan shouldn't be a problem, I have many Cold Steel knives made there and have no problem. All the best.

    Might be easy to put a thin piece of plastic in the bit holder to make the bit stick out slightly more. If the magnet is strong enough, the plastic should still allow the bit to hold to the magnet.

      @@2371Anita I believe its called the Bit Adapter, the extender is a different tool. The Bit Adapter will come as a little kit including the adapter and 5 double sided bits. So 10 different screw heads. Then you can put the ratchet into the adapter where you would normally put the bits. Works great.

    Never see anyone turning anything real tight with any of these “EDC tools.” No longer even “compact” expensive assortment of tools that don’t really work well. “Practical tool?” Reaching for this to screw in siding would ruin your wrists. Obviously used a drill to pre drill holes for the screws. If you have a drill, use it to screw on the siding, your wrists will thank you later! Sold to gadget guys trying to justify their huge “gadget” credit card bills.

    I bought this as a kit... and this is absolutely the worst Leatherman product that ever left the factory... I bought one, the rachet broke... Sent it back, they replaced it. It broke again, this time it was the pliers... sent it back... They replaced it again. Third time's the charm... Nope. The lock broke for the blade. I just tossed it.
    When you get two, that should be cherry picked from the factory, and they're both turds, you know there's an issue.
    No more Leatherman for me.
