    We own a 2017 CX5, plus a CX9 and an MX5, and I'm a firm believer in the better driving experience Mazda offers. Not the highest tech, but the Zoom-Zoom is still there.

    I leased a Mazda CX-5 after looking and test driving several cars. After pricing it turned out that I got so much more in the Mazda then I did in a base model of all the other cars I looked at. I was coming out of a Mitsubishi Outlander and decided that driving experience and interior design where more important then space for me this around! So far I love it!!

      Do it! I just bought the 21 CX 5 Carbon Turbo w red interior and it is a KILLER vehicle. I've owned a BMW M3 & a BMW X5 and this Mazda is nicer and better built than either of them.
      Their complaints on the Mazda controls are funny to me. After 2 days with the CX5 I ended up much much MUCH preferring the Mazda's control system over the touch screens.
      Go check the Carbon Turbo w the red seats... It's BEAUTIFUL, unique, & fun to drive!

    Nissan Rogue all the way. Much nicer, more well rounded car. The motor will certainly be followed by some sort of hybrid, which would be my choice. The CVT I don't mind at all, but I live in europe, and we seem to get different versions of the CVTs over here. They actually are awesome. I read a lot about CVT problems in America in the past, but we didn't have those problems over here. And the current CVT is super nice. It feels like a traditional auto, but smoother, much much quicker to react and with much more sophistication when driving off-road, on snow or in the mountains. It pairs perfectly with all wheel drive.

    • @thomasc1753
      @thomasc1753 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I test drove both for an hour each. No comparison. The Rogue LOOKS great, but the seats are thin and cheap feeling in comparison to the Mazda. The Rogue is just made/feels cheaper, but it does look great (they both do).
      The Mazda (turbo) driving experience blows the Rogue away as well: Way quicker/faster and much better steering. The Mazda feels like driving a luxury sedan and with the Nissan it just felt bigger. With it, I could tell I was driving an SUV sized vehicle. With the body roll, break feel I felt as if I were dragging the Rogue around the road.
      The Nissan had some nice interior storage, more rear seat leg room, a bit more (pracrical) cargo room, and a neat glass roof. Other than that, the Mazda was far nicer.

    • @lindab2323
      @lindab2323 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The seats are thin and cheap feeling? Funny that Nissan's Zero-Gravity Seats are thought of quite highly in the automotive industry.
      And as far at the CVT issues? There are hundreds of thousands of Nissan (and Honda and Toyota) CVT engines on the road. As I mentioned previously, I never had one trans issue with my 2012 Rogue. But that's just me. I would ask that you point to stats that show CVT's fail at a higher rate over standard transmissions. Talking with service people, that does not seem to be the case. But I will defer if you show me.
      Body roll? "break feel" (sic). What does that even mean?
      I know nothing about Mazda, but evidently there are lots of fans out there. Good for you. I'll stand by my Rogues. 2012, and now 2021.
      To each his own, but I have a TON of practical experience. Not an hour.

    Mazda. However I may be biased since I own an 2018 CX-5 and have enjoyed my experience with it so far. The disadvantage to the Mazda is cargo space is small in the class and the infotainment is okay at best and does not offer a huge moonroof. It's also not the most fuel efficient in the class either. However great steering with a somewhat stiffer sporty drive. Plus I love the exterior and interior design, although the front seats aren't amazing.

    The rouge and cx5 mid level are comparably priced. We rented a rouge over 7 days SV trim and here are our observations: great space overall. Eco mode really saves the fuel. Seats are very conformable. High tech with touch screen, push start with 360 views. Quiet ride with semi smart acc. Not a big fan of Nissan before but this new design did surprised us. The functionality is just there. Lots of small design that make sense and convenient. Like this video, if you are looking for fun to drive, go with cx5, that’s what they sell and what you should get, but everything else just lack a bit (the knob screen control kills the deal these days). If you are looking for a everyday car and sudden acceleration is not your thing or just want to get A to B comfortably, take the rouge and life will be easy and happy. We were looking at cx5 hard and after this trip, rouge got us. The comfy seats plus make sense design (storage) and new tech is the way to go. Last but not least, I do appreciate Mazda, you know what you get, and you know what you are giving up off.

    I love both of those recommended CX-5 for fun and reliability. I'd take the Rogue for new styling and lots of new features. Think Nissan improved the CVTs in later years early years wasn't reliable at all + reliability seems be better than average in early 2010s the brand had problems now after Ghosn left Nissan is trying come back as did in the 90s. I love Nissan's, Mazdas, Ford crossovers/pickups my favorites still never thought wanted chose another Rogue but this newer is better than the last generation while makes RAV4 and CR-V boring but CX-5 much more reliable and believe would last longer, Mazda is the most reliable behind Toyota I hope now since Nissan getting back on right track they be behind their cousin, all manufacturers has problems read last night on on some problems with Toyota's and Honda's few Toyota's had exploded sunroofs and Honda had problems with acceleration/electronic problems.
