I'd love a comprehensive battery test (one that runs a long TH-cam video at 100% volume + 100% brightness, and another test at 50% for both volume and brightness).
It would be also very much interesting to see a battery life comparison between Ultra 5 and Ultra 7 - really interested if Ultra 7 can take any benefit of its higher power on the same-level tasks and improve battery life or would vice versa drain it faster than Ultra 5. But this is some excellent stuff - I've been mad reading reddit and other sources of indirect comparisons of i5s and i7s historically in the last few days, and this is just bull's eye, as I'm looking for SP10 (and waiting to see what they reveal tomorrow before buying - I'm not into Snapdragon yet though). Thanks so much for making this crystal clear! Extremely helpful!
I mentioned single core and multicore tests but yeah didn't give details. Cinebench R23 multi is only 1% different between the 2. (9980 vs 10100 roughly if I remember right.) Also, CPU Passmark scores: 135U Multi:18807 SIngle:3427 165U Multi:18802 SIngle: 3458
@cbutters tech - I bought the Ultra 7 32GB, 1TB but find lots of fan noise and heat when running teams meetings, which I do all day long. Is this what you found on the SP10 ultra 7 and ultra 5? Same heat / fan scenario? Or does the ultra 5 throw off less under a taxing task like video conference meeting?
The reason i would want Surface Pro 10 for business with 64 gb of ram is to be able to use OpenShift local running few containers . Have anyone used it for this purpose. I am concerned about heating and fan noise. The containers i plan to use are based on x86 linux images and since they are Commercial software not opensource, i cant do much to change the images etc.The reason i want a surface pro is for portability and convenience , comes handy when you want to demo to a client. Any thoughts ...
the touchscreen input on surface pro 10 during web browser page scrolling lags heavily as compared to Android Tablets and iPad. Do you have any idea to fix the same. I am using Microsoft Edge browser.

Yes, I’m interested to see how the ultra 5 and ultra 7 compare in battery life

3:11 Isn't it the other way around ? There's no reason to buy ultra 7 over ultra 5
You're right I mispoke there. No reason to buy the Ultra 7 over Ultra 5.
All you talked about was the GPU scores, what about the CPU scores and the differences.

Best Surface Pro content on TH-cam. Thanks.
Is there no difference in the powerlimits of those two? I remember it was like that back in the days.
the i5 ultra has VBS disabled and give a little extra room to give performance.
do you have a 1 to 2 comparison with both chips?
Just what I needed to hear, Intel for compatibility vs ARM.
Does the higher clock speeds of the Ultra 7 make any noticeable difference to the snapiness/feel of using the device?
No.

If I gave the CPU a power limit of 15W, would the I7 clock higher or would they both clock the same?
How did you do that?
@@Chaser2k If I had both CPUs available I would test the whole thing with Trottleshop Intel tuning software or with x86 Univarsel.
@@wheit9422 Why reducing the powerlimit?
Interesting. Is the Ultra 5 fanless?
no

Darn it! Mine (Ultra 7) didn't cost full price, so at least I have that, as well as a 32Gb ram version.
this so helpful! im about to buy the pro 10 with ultra 7 then i saw this!
I'd want the 64gh ram...
yere me too
That's the reason to choose the Ultra 7 for sure.
Getting 29-30 fps on my ultra 7 surface pro on sottr benchmark.
