- My hometown, Kingston Ontario is an amazing place to live. It was voted top city to raise a family, it is a hot spot for young talented professionals. The cost of Kingston real estate remains lower in comparison to similar cities in Ontario.
Kingston Ontario Canada, The Limestone City, is a beautiful place full of historic buildings. Just the right size at 147,000 in Kingston and area it is situated on Lake Ontario, at the mouth of the St. Lawrence (1000 islands), and is the start of the historic Rideau Canal that connects Kingston and the nation's capital (it's second Capital, Kingston was the first).
I LOVE this town!!! There is no place else I would rather live.

Kingston has a lack of resources for mentalhealth help. The daytime murder of an innocent bystander proved this. The murderer went to AMHC on Princess Street and another Community Service but received nothing from them. We're in our 8th year of the 10 yr " housing plan" and the homeless list is beyond 300 souls with no where to turn. Many tourists complain that they're harassed by pan handlers. Our city seems only to focus on what's nice for the rich and forget about the rest of us. City monies are spent extremely unwisely.

Stay in the city, and away from the outskirts. I’m married to a local girl and we are moving back this summer because, where we are in the states is similar. You need to be born in, married in or will never be part of the community. Yes, the restaurants in the city are very good.
I can see how you could feel that way! Kingston may not technically be a small town but it can have that small town feel as though everyone knows everyone else...unless you are not from here. But, I do know many people who are "from away" who fully feel as though Kingston is home and their community now. Exciting that you are moving back here!

The waterfront is nice, historic, with lots of nice restaurants, but the rest of the city is a dump.

You need to make 70-100K a year to live here comfortably. I’m not even sure 70K is enough. Almost got a home just before Covid, it won’t happen ever now.

Sadly, it is a challenge to afford to live just about anywhere in Southern Ontario right now. With inflation and the cost of living having climbed so drastically and the price of housing having spiked across the country a formerly good salary does not go as far as it used to. Kingston prices have only just kept pace with the rest of the country.

Pajji part time job easily available in kingstone but if you are looking for skill job then may be difficult part.
I'm from Oswego County NY originally. On our side of the lake and going up the east end of Lake Ontario there's no big towns like this until you get down to Syracuse. How do I move to Canada? My grandmother was born in Prescott, Ontario, does that help?

Thank you for your insight Rebecca. I am sorry that has been your experience. Having lived in Calgary for 8 years and returned to Kingston as an adult I did not at all have that experience.
Bad start to video. The last thing I wanted to tune into was a lecture about Covid.
I don't mention Covid at all in my video on Kingston and I am not one to "lecture" about anything. Perhaps it was the TH-cam ad that you got at the start of the video that I have no control over.
