- This time we have two famous american vehicles Hummer H2 and Chevy CK-1500 Stepside of snowrunner and In this video we'll find out which is a better scout vehicle among these two.

It's clearly a marketing thing XD They were payed to give it those stats so people can drive around in the brand appropriate tires. I'd wager the HuMmEr H2 's performance ingame is better than in real life too.

@@tomfield8766 I think you cal it SUV overseas. Here in Russia SUV means a big car with some offroad inspiration, but the body style of an SUV can be either a wagon (the vast majority of SUVs) or a coupe (the likes of BMW X6). Very rarely SUVs come in phaeton (UAZ 3151 and I think some military G-Klasse trims as well, ), hatchback (SsangYong Actyon), etc. As for Jeep Wrangler I think it's also a phaeton since the dors come off and not roll their upper part like the windows in old Subarus. But you call it a convertible. You call everything topless a convertible. That's definitely much more convenient.
We also have different words for a small pickup truck and a big truck. We call big trucks trucks but a pickup truck is just a "pickup". We consider it something closer to an SUV rather than a large truck. Oh, and we call every small vehicle (including pickup trucks) a car. We don't differentiate unibody "cars" and body on frame "trucks". And specifically in the russian far east we have the word "micro truck" which we use to describe small japanese (also korean, chinese) cabover trucks, the likes of Toyota Dyna or Nissan Atlas. In the western part of Russia (actually, in the entire Russia) the word "gazelle" is used for any truck or van similar to Ford Transit or Mercedes-Benz Sprinter because they look like the legendary russian small truck ГАЗель

I forgot to mention that some people here may call any SUV a "jeep" (джип). But more educated people use the word "offroader" (внедо'рожник). And some people may call Jeep Gladiator внедорожник but for most russians it's a пикап since it has a bed. The fun thing is that we never see uncommon types of bed like flat bed and the look of let's say F150 with flat bed may confuse a russian person since we don't have the correct word for such a vehicle. It's a pickup truck... but not quite😂
The most educated people know the word "crossover" (крос'совер). But all those types of vehicles are cars (ма'шина - this word comes from "machine" but we very rarely use it to describe anything but an atomobile; by the way we also use the word автомо'биль but it's very formal).

If they tie you can just put "TIE!" you don't have to say "Both Tied" as a tie already implies 2 or more have achieved the same placing.
Hammer with OS l 39" is Better Change my mind , OS I 39" is TALLER than the Default 36" tire and the 39" MUD tire is A little sorter than the 36" stock tire because its very soft and with less air for better traction BUT when the belly of the car touch the ground whatever tire you have you will be stuck , so the OS l is 39" is like 3-4" taller than the Mud tire 39" so it give more cleanse. ( recently change them from stock tires very happy with the performance and i used stock tires form 6lv to 29lv )
H2 is much more stable over any terrain, low centered, also with stock tires can go on snow/icy roads better

8V is a very fuel hungry engine (it consumes fuel as a goddamn truck) also this engine is very powerful for this car and can be the cause of flipping and sinking easier into the mud even on the low gear.
My setup for this car is 6V4.4 engine and highway gear box (for good fuel economy and supporting H gear). Yes it is slow but it goes everywhere (even on snow) and it's very fuel friendly. A good choice for beginners.
You didn’t need to change the tires on the H2 because they’ve got EXCELLENT on all surfaces.

From my experience the hummer performs better with its stock h2 wheels. And I'd like to see you do a mud test with the small flat deck scout trailer with a load on it. Curious as to what is the best scout for doing work. Because we already know the khan is better at almost everything else

Bassin Assassin just get the lift and snowrunner gearing for the h2 and leave stock tires on, way better than Chevy for some reason
H2 hummer is over rated its a yuppie 4x4. My buddy has one and had about 5 of them not good way to heavy. The step side with a 5 speed would be a beast with sum good skins on it.

The chevy is a monster diesel eater. If you watch your steps the H2 is the best option I think.

The thing that kills the Chevy for me is the fuel consumption. You need to bring a gas trailer to have reasonable range.
Yah, it's very fuel hungry for a truck of it's size and fuel tank of chevy is also not that big.

@Ian Goschman V6s are better overall imo as they can still technically do everything that the V8 can do.
@Ian Goschman I've got the second V6, which has a little more power than the standard but doesn't use more fuel and it's served me well so far with mud tires. It's the closest upgrade in the Dam in michigan, along the road to the right and up the hill.
I wonder what the third V6 will be like which has more power and uses more fuel but not as much as the V8.
I pull the scout fuel trailer with me everywhere! I know it takes me longer and I use more fuel to get there but I have cleared entire maps without having to worry about fuel whereas the first map I had to stop several times due to fuel even with the starter engine.
@Ian Goschman 10/10 The loadstar is awesome once you get the raised suspension and unlock the offroad tires.. Until then, prepare to get center-hung a lot.. the gas tank hangs down low enough to catch on rocks or deep mud and get you stuck.
@@caspervore Yep I've towed the scout fuel trailer across all 3 maps in Alaska, getting every watch point along the way, and still had roughly 500 liters of fuel left.

The bigger advantages of the H2 aren't even tested or thought of. The H2 has a lower center of gravity and a wider wheelbase so it's generally much harder to flip while the chevy gets very tipsy easily.
I believe the extra ground clearance is why the chevy does better in mud. It's a compromise so it's about choosing whether you want more offroad capability or more stability, though the autonomous winch might help when you roll the truck.
@@Turgz If you look closely, there's not much difference in clearance height between the two in-game. The Chevy does better in the mud because its lighter. Mud is opposite of snow in that you want to avoid digging in as much as possible and flow on top of the mud as much as possible. Snow is naturally like so you want to dig into snow to maximize traction. The H2 being a larger and heavier vehicle has a lower center of gravity and tends to tip over a lot less than the pickup truck because a lot of the pickup truck's relative weight is well above the axles where the H2 carries a lot of it's proportional weight closer to the axles which is helped by its wider wheelbase.
With mud, you want to be as light as possible unless you can push weight to the other extra and be heavy enough that your vehicle's momentum just forces its way through the mud. With smaller vehicles like the scout class, lighter weight will make better mud trucks as neither of this trucks can get the dozens of tons required to get the tractor affect a super heavy mass has.
I still feel the bigger difference between the two, and what makes the H2 a better overall vehicle is that it's much more stable than the pickup which makes traversing some of the more difficult areas much easier.
that is what i feel as hummer is a better climbing steep inclines sideways, chevy is a general all-rounder and scout 800 is lightness and LSD installed form start makes it a little mountain-goat, now i have to test the Russian cars to to se how they fair to

Bonus. Chevy also floats. I got the 1km drive through water achievement in the Smithville dam map by....falling off... yeah... made it out too! Took a good ten minutes to float close enough to the shore to winch onto something, repaired my destroyed engine, and drive onto the beach. Then I recovered cause no gas, but still!

Surprisingly, I discovered the Twinsteer floats as well, sort of. The back sinks, but the front floats, so you can keep the engine running. Weirdly enough, it can actually sort of drive in the water too, accelerating moves the truck forwards a bit somehow, and the steering actually semi-works as well, just make sure you don’t flip the thing over and it can legitimately cross rivers. Not sure how it’s possible, might be a bug with the physics engine, but it was a very entertaining thing to mess with once I discovered it. Might have to test it again just to make sure it hasn’t been patched out in the last little while

Note to everyone say 'The Hummer stock tyres are better!'. They aren't. The actual datamined numbers show they are quite poor on mud and the small diamterer will mean getting bogged a lot. The onscreen rating is seperate from the actual grip values that the physics engine uses.

Thanks for the videos. Recently started playing this game and found your videos interesting and helpful. My only complaint with these tests is the cars are always maxed. Though I understand why you test that way it’s difficult for me to pick the better truck because I just don’t have the upgrades. I’d love to see a video of best truck per category for early game

If you think that ck1500 is better than Hummer I may prove you wrong because in my hard mode game that Chevy was a true beast for me untill I got Hummer from Alaska I brought it back in black river where I towed a broken Chevy Kodiak c70 and a fuel trailer in road full of mud while going uphill in my Hummer H2 where even my fleetstar got stuck all that with fuel efficiency of 1.7 liters average and whole rescue took 5 litre of fuel the distance was from black river fuel station to garage .I don't mean that Chevy is useless it's also a true beast but has worst fuel economy and it's pretty old

When you have the fuel and repair addons on the hummer it makes it super slow. Even with the freeway gearbox it's a slug, as soon as you take those off it's a rocket again 😂. A few Jerry cans and little boxes shouldn't bog a truck down at all. Preaty sure it's a bug but I'm not sure they would even know it exists I haven't seen anyone commenting on it unfortunately. 🤨
On the swamp test, it’s the poor break over angle of the h2 that’s causing the rocker panels to catch in the mud, which is why it’s slower than the Chevy. The weight difference might contribute a little bit though.

The Chevy is a C/k truck but it is a K-1500 because C stands for rear wheel drive and K stands for four wheel drive!
You should have left the stock Hummer tires on - they’re the best tires available for the vehicle.

Stats the stock are better. But the bigger mud tyres give extra lift which helps heaps with the hummer as it’s quite low and definately perform better, other than on the road
I've only used the stock tires, and even without a lift kit, the H2 outperforms my fully upgraded Chevy on any surface it drives on. Pulls a full-size service trailer through snow pretty easily too

Can you do a comparison of different tread pattern types of the same tire category? Really curious if there is a difference in tread pattern.
I end up with my chevy most of the time. If i need to tow something in deeper water i would use hummer but usally i use my old paystar 5070. Do not know if i am crazy here but i really love those first trucks that i got in the game.
Same. I believe if more folks would have just stuck with the early game trucks like the Chevy and Fleetstar and not immediately running off and grabbing the Hummer and Tayga they would have seen they are actually quite good once you get them upgraded. Definitely takes longer to finish the game tho so I understand why folks do it.
i main my f750 as my scout. huge gas tank and never had any trouble getting into any places or getting in any mud. i like the ability to have the crane on the bed and flat bed for a one slot cargo if needed
Replacing Hummer's tires is a sin. They can go anywhere.
I replaced mine by mistake i didnt look at states and just sold then relized they were god tires and I couldnt get them back

I don't know why we didn't get the H1, even the civilian version Vs the H2. However driving both I knew from before viewing this the H2 is a better scout.
Your final call seems biased...the speed test the Chevy hit the shadow of the finish line cars first...and you can see from where the race ends the Hummer is flat even with the closest side of cars while Chevy is half a foot past it....the Hummer should have won the break test it stopped closer to the cars by almost half a car length...and finally in an offroad game the winner should have been the truck that's "better off-road" then the "all-rounder"......I mean no disrespect by any means just my opinion based on what I saw.... please bare in mind it pains me to say the Chevy's the winner considering I live in a rural small town where it's either Ford or Chevy with 0 middle ground and I fall on the Ford side....but in this case the Chevy won
Main difference here is fuel consumption also I didn't mentioned the stability of both vehicles because I noticed that chevy is easier to flip as compared to hummer that's is a big advantage for hummer in my opinion...but Finally it's your decision what you want to use the most.

I think for scout vehicles, we should add stability test, since they usually travel at .... well, find out which one is harder to flip over.
it doesn't matter with autonomous winch...which is a must have upgrade.... although I'll try to do such test but right now we don't have modded maps and stuff available

What I would love to have as a DLC vehicle would be na early eighties F150 flareside/stepside whichever one it is, or an early eighties Bronco or K5 Blazer or all three. Those would be my most driven vehicles if they were added.

it's how it is spelled on in-game buttons. They literally say "differential", not "diff lock"

@Artem Poznyak late response but I get what you are trying to say. If the differential is on (working) that means that the wheels rotate independently from one another. I think he just used the term “diff on” to spare a few words
In my experience the Chevy is not only he better off-roader but also better on streets. The Hummer has a terrible instability with higher speed and is over all more or less unusable. The only advantage he hase is it's better sound. Total crap car. I rescued it, took all the advancements for it with the Loadstar, maxed it out and then parked it in the back row of my garage for good. :D
If you want to get shit done, buy a Loadstar and just do it. If you want some challenge, do it with the Chevy. If you wanna get stuck in the snow forever, take the Hummer.
you should make a tier list for each type of truck
Chevy sounds like a 4 cylinder engine when it should sound like a V8. Weak sound and weak performance. The engine doesn't rev up when accelerating unlike the vehicles in Mudrunner. Also, when you upgrade any vehicle's engine, the sound of the vehicle doesn't change at all. Bad sound design on their part
I could see adding one of the games time trials into your comparison. One like employee dislocation would give a good comparison in a head to head competition with steep declines, tight corners all sorts of mud, and a few patches of snow for good measure.
Could you test the Hummer with its own unique tires against another Hummer with mud tires? 🤔
Your test is missing a critical thing. The biggest advantage to a Hummer compared to any truck, this is more the H1 than H2 but still works, is the width. Hummers are wider and therefore have more stability when driving on the side of a mountain. You can drive a Hummer, H1 at least, on a 40 degree grade and not risk tipping over. I highly doubt the Chevy with it's higher center of gravity and thinner frame can do that. I was in the military in 1986 when they switched from Jeeps to Hummers and got to test them extensively and was amazed with what could now be done that a Jeep could never do.
In game I'm early in the game so the Hummer is way better than the Chevy for now.
I stoped using scouts all together, unless there is a very specific watchtower you can barely reach. They are all somewhat a pain to actually get around on most maps. Many heavy trucks or offroad trucks fly over difficult sections if you don`t have to carry or pull anything.
They are golden early game though!

At the beginning of the video it’s said that there is “no point” in testing stock. I do understand that to a point but doesn’t the hummer perform better in its stock config than the Chevy because the hummer has an all terrain compound to begin with?

Am I the only one who thinks the Chevy sucks in this game? I’ve been using the Khan 39 Marshall since day one and it’s an absolute unit. Never gets stuck, I don’t think I’ve had to use the diff lock to get up a hill or through mud and the only time I’ve had to recover when when it rolled and there were no winch points. I thought I’d give this Chevy a go, higher suspension, big fat mud tyres, tuned engine and my god is it slow and always needs diff lock through muddy paths.
Whats the point of reving the engine while standing still? That is not the max consumption. You need to have a trailer with two slots and something heavy loaded on that. Then go haul that uphill. And you will have a real max consumption. I had maximum 13 l/min on the scout 800. Not what this video makes you believe.

Wrong! The ck 1500 is better in the swamp and deep mud. The H2 is a better off-roader way more stable then the ck 1500. Chevy tips on its side all the time.

H2 seems to have less clearance which gets it in trouble in deep mud and snow. Usually not enough to stop it, but it has to winch a lot.
After upgrading the Chevy I found it to be the only scout I used... It's quick, very capable off road and seems to haul some heavy out of the mud with a bit of winching... Only thing is the fuel consumption but adding the roof rack pretty much fixed that
Only think i have against the roof rack and this is why I don't use it is bc it dose not have as much power as it would without the rack

roads are not wide enough also terrain is uneven, so one will get advantage over other and test won't be accurate

Chevy has better performance than Hummer but has much worst fuel consumption with the powerful engine, Chevy has almost half the range compared to the Hummer, the Hummer is better overall
