I think most of these addons are for giving variety and realism to the game. For example I use big cranes for heavy loads because using the small ones doesn't have any sense. I use the K700 or the little cat to move logs or cargo because it's different and sometimes is fun to use them.
I would only use heavy cranes to load massive cargos to massive trailer since as you saw in the video the small crane loading the plane in was just dumb physics, I would also use it for scout sar tbh
Heavy crane is good choice if you have light truck and better handling cargo. Sure it's tedious. In hardcore i use heavy crane for those lost cargo since small crane can sometime flip the truck
Plus the light cranes get really fiddly with big cargo and loading onto your own semi trailer It's rare I use them but when I do, it's because I tipped something with a 4-5 slot cargo and need to both right the truck and reload the cargo
Heavy cranes would be a lot more useful if they actually had an appreciable amount of extra reach and lift capacity over the smaller loading cranes. Too often something can be in the green circle of a crane's reach but still not able to be hooked onto because of some arbitrary bs like for example trying to latch onto something across a river or one of those many missions where a car is stuck down a ravine and the only way to reach it is to somehow land in there yourself.
8 slot trailer was useful for me in Yukon and Wisconsin for those big building tasks or crafting recipies. Wide, straight roads and quite often on tarmac. New seasons weren't good for it.
Yea I'm not sure what mission it was for, but I had extra materials on smithville damn at my garage. I needed to get a few wood and metal beams to Island lake, so I used a P16 with a super semi trailer, and basically took the main road all there. It was kinda fun using something I generally disliked for offroad activities, that is, when my P16 WASN'T struggling with going up hills lol
The argument for the heavy crane is pretty simple, it’s way faster and far more practical when handling large mission cargo. It’s also very useful for getting vehicles unstuck in hard mode
Yeah on those missions I just used Maprunner to find out where I needed to be. Maybe I was doing something wrong but the metal detector never showed me anything useful, even when I was right there at the mission location.
Large long loads are way less of a pain with the larger crane. The 8 slot trailer is handy with larger trucks and to avoid multiple trips. Also useful if you just want to bring a large amount of cargo to a main road that makes it easier to offload onto smaller trucks.
but they are also a pain in the ass to haul them back, I rather do a train cargo system or just do double trip where I don't have to be slow and strategies on every corner, bumps and what not. They are meant for something like ETS 2.
Regarding what you said at 5:46, you actually don't have to search for them map to map, you just go to the "maps progress page" and then to the "trucks tab" and it will tell you exactly where all your trucks are.
Thanks for the tip but it'll still be a back and forth trip between the map I am playing and the map I forgot them into. .long story short it's better for me to not use that feature.
Pretty much spot on for me though I do tend to use the 8 slot trailer on a more regular basis with a lot of winch work to drag the tail of the trailer around corners. I also almost exclusively use the heavy crane/log crane because I will take a truck that I otherwise don't care about especially if its a free one given to me and park it somewhere where I need a crane for loading. I only really use the smaller crane for the "spilled cargo over this area of the map" type missions or when I have rolled a truck and want to fully recover everything in one go. One thing that I don't use hardly at all though is putting vehicles on trailers. I either drive the vehicle needed or just winch it behind a another truck. If its something that will require fuel/repair support at the end destination then I will have the tow vehicle loaded out with the right addons and trailer to do so.
I have taken to using the 8 slot trailer as a staging platform. Load it with 8 of what ever I need, and pick it off later as needed. I love the Crocodile (Step 33-64) for that role as 'pilot' of the staging platform. Its cheap and has just enough power to move it around even loaded, as least over easy terrain. And oddly, I tend to leave a 'bad' truck with a full size crane there to move cargo around.
Most of your points I agree with, except the scout flatbeds. I'll use those once in a while when I'm opening a map with a scout truck. (often Loadstar) What I really like is that they can back up much easier than medium trailers with their steerable front axles. I'd really love to have a large version of the scout trailers for bigger trucks. (2 slot, center axles) I used to use the 8 slot trailers a lot, but once the Paystar 5600 came out with it's 3 slot bed, I usually just use that and a 4 slot ramped flatbed for 7 cargo and much easier turning.
i just used scout flatbed recently and i just hooked one of the lightweight less useful scouts behined a tatarin. Came in handy for the small jobs required to clear roads.
This might sound bizarre but I like there being impractical ways to complete tasks. It’s up to the player to find what works and what doesn’t. That’s what I really like about this game is there isn’t really any one way to complete anything. Even if it barely works it’s up to the player to find a better solution.
For the " impractical loading' . Its only because your over extending the boom. If you detach the trailer and park parallel to the trailer with the target cargo on the other side. You will be able to load with a even center of gravity then re attach the trailer. Also why heavy cranes make more sense because they are heavier and can lift with a further extended boom do to the heavy weight and center of gravity
Like most of the comment section, I agree with the exception of 8-box trailers. I use them a lot. I don’t drag them everywhere, but I put it on my highway truck, tow it where I need, to use as a mobile base. I use a crane to load it onto nimbler platforms and deliver it from there rather than making multiple trips back and forth in the smaller trucks and trailer combos.
I actually used a small scout flatbed unironically. Got into a situation where the majority of my cargos are in one area except for one, so I figured it's faster and more efficient to send a scout to grab it.
I use the garage slots, but make sure i retain all of them before switching to another map with a garage. You have to plan ahead more in Hard mode. I will convoy a couple trucks while hauling packed trucks on trailers in that case, which can be pretty fun and irritating at the same time 😂
I still use the heavy crane for big messes I’ve made, especially if I’ve managed to lay over the kenworth 963 or derry special. Those trucks are absurdly heavy, and even modded minicranes can’t really do it sometimes, not enough support on the ground or something you know. I’m not really sure, but maybe it would be particularly helpful in hardcore. This is a really good video things like the fine tune gearbox and not being able to load medium logs with the Russian trak-tor are big pointers. Things like this can make trips in snowrunner dreadful
Fine tune gearbox is for mud crawlers. You can clearly see a difference in speed at which you advance in mud when you find the correct gear in the fine tune gearbox. If your wheels are spinning too fast, you slow down. If your wheels are spinning too slow, you are just slow. If your wheels are spinning just at the right speed, you advance faster.
Pretty much sums it up for me as well 😅 I do use the heavy cranes stationary at warehouses as it makes life loading an unloading a lot easier. If they added a log crappler to the telehandler and increased the reach on K-700 log crappler that would make me use them.
I do use the big cranes for special purposes like loading the plane, pulling the tanks out of the lake in Imandra or when rescuing the Khan Sentinel in Amur. I like the new one it has much more length. I agree with everything you said, I even forgot the metal detector was a thing. Only exception is garage slots, I use all of them and check before leaving that I didn't left a truck behind.
I think I used a 8-slot in every season since they came out. I recommend only use them with KOLOB's (preferably with the lift suspension), they have the best combination of natural weight in the vehicle itself to counter the trailers weight, low range engine torque to keep dragging the trailer even when it bottoms out, and 8X8 traction to keep things moving at all times. Kenworth and P12 are to weak for 8-slots, P16 only has RWD. I have had the Boar drag around an 8-slot in Island Lake, Michigan with great success, but that map is largely flat mud. Pretty much with an 8-slot, if you don't want to use a KOLOB, don't bother. It is funny though, I've taken 8-slots places in this game people have no business taking 8-slots. I've damn near bent these trailers into L's at some points trying to jam them around corners they have no business going around. Heck in Season 6 I took 8-slots to the second map and dragged them up around where that broken power pole was. lol 9 chances out 10 I don't care what it takes, if I want an 8-Slot to go somewhere, it's going these. I'll drag it, ram it, winch it, whatever I have to do to make it happen, it's happening. So far the places that have beaten me in that tiny, really sharp L-Turn on the Smithville Dam's, Dam. And in Tennessee (Season 7) those really narrow sharp S-Turns that are on that one road. Those two have beaten me. Anywhere I've thus far wanted to take an 8-slot though, come hell or high water it's bloody gone there one way or another. lol
I prefer the 8 slot over the 12 slot variant too. Especially since the 8 slot is less buggy than the 4 slot trailers. One of then jumped into space while i drove over a road barrier. (No idea why those and the debris dont get deleted after you cleared a raod block) I used a hitched and a towed 4 slot with the Femm today to get 3 large pipes to the warehouse in Alaska^^.
You can find your cars very easily. You press the F4 key and you get to the menu where the progress in the game is shown. There is also a car tab. The entire fleet of cars is shown there, also with information, where the cars are located.
to restart a contest you can go into map - contests and restart from menu, also plane debris was recovered and loaded by bandit crane, which is well suited for Kola maps
I think he was really saying more that it was so difficult to get back to the starting point of the task, not that you couldn't recover and restart. My KRS58 did do a pretty good job recovering the planes when it was not on its side.
I use the heavy cranes quite often. As a Hardmode player I always have a dedicated maintenance Rig, with a crane and a harvested maintenance trailer and a fuel trasiler on a winch. It's quite comfortable really.
Everyone is sleeping on the fine tune gearbox. Mainly because reddit say's it is useless. I can tell a huge difference using the gears between L and up to L+ and just barley into L- while using throttle control. It works much better than off road with throttle control. I did 90% of Amur with a GMC Brigadier with top engine fine tune gear box and tunned custom suspension.
In defense of the ramped flat bed I would suggest using it with a fuel efficient truck like the Azov 64131 to transport thirsty trucks like the Paystar 5600ts across the map to wherever you need that truck to do work, especially if there are paved and dirt roads to get you most of the way there
The heavy cranes for me are most useful for recovering stuff or having to twist things in very specific ways. Like the twinsteer. I always make sure I have at least one heavy crane truck. I also have the offroad trailers mod, making that one trailer fantastic for cats. And garage slots I always do, faster than me sorting my stored vehicles
Not related to the video but i recently try the og Spintires and just messing around in proving ground and holy shit. The game physics itself is something else man, I don't know what to say, like the felt when driving is so good combine with the sound design and small detail the game have. Felt so satisfying to play, 9 year old game, aged like a fine wine
yes... it's sad that its dead...BTW the spintires you're seeing today is not the original 2014 game...it has been revamped completely from physics to graphics 2020...so it's not 9 years old technically but still a great physics game.
@@SD1ONE Yeah. I had watched your spintires history video not to long ago. Sad it is no longer available anymore so more people to enjoy it. I has to prirate it xD. I think at least we still had mudrunner, I also played it before. Again, really good game
Regarding the garage slots. I don´t use them either because I like to park my trucks outside the garage but you can actually find them quite easily by using the "Truck" menu in the profile overview. If you go to the "Truck" menu it will list all your trucks and where they are. All trucks that are in a garage storage slot will have the map name and a garage symbol after the map name.
Agree with everything but the ramped semi trailer. It’s a solid trailer for hauling large trucks. I find it useful because it has stability. I don’t think devs intended it to be used off-road
I use the low trailer most of the time I'm in Ontario DLC I do sometimes do a little roleplay but hey it's for me atleast, and I use the heavy cranes and the telehandler for loading trucks in the step deck, because it's fun.
At 2:02 you say that the metal detectors are installed on the front and rear of vehicles. The Husky, which is a mine detecting vehicle in the US military, has the same design as Snow Runner for its metal detectors. I would bet that this is where the devs modeled it from. The portion on the front of the Husky is actually a ground penetrating radar.
Nice. I agree. Also since new zikz612 and kenworth.. i've used less the 10x10 azov (for overloading purposes.. i use kenny or zikz612 with that rear crane there are interesting configs for overloading.. and a trailer) For some monster overloads i did try the paystar5700ts.. nice but too fuel thirsty., now kenny takes the place. Also zikz605r is used less due to lower versatility than 612, lack of small crane, lack of low saddle.. all of these are on the new zikz612.. less capable due to overhang, a tad slower, but much more useful. I still use the 605r for contests and as support vehicle.. with fuel tank addon, and 600repair points on roof.. and managed to pack on top of the cab/cistern the ford f750 fully loaded with repairpoints.. it's the monster repair truck and fuel truck, and can also have a hitch trailer, and the extra truck (imposible to put back once fallen.. but it's pretty stable for now.. put with the big crane at garage), but not much for hauling gargo.. 2slot bed too small, 2slot+4slot trailer was my combo.. but with 612 i can have this as well as a crane that brings the potential not only to the 2+4slots but also some overloading with the crane. Better yet the kenny with 3slot+crane+4slot trailer + overloading beats the 8slot semi by far. For this reasons a lot of trucks are not in use anymore.. even taygas, azovs, vorons, all highway, kenny takes the cake in most terains (less powerful on hills), or the new zikz612 for the chalenging terain. Both have a shitload of fuel onboard.. the trucks that can carry multiple tasks and contracts at once in one trip. Also kenworth took the place of aramatsu forester with bigger fuel tank and same log crane+medium logs addon+trailer.
I agree with everything accept the 8 slot. I use it more then any other trailer. Yeah it gets stuck but you can get a lot done with it. Keep up the good work..
Heavy crane is for recovering vehicles from deep ravines. It is very much needed. It is more powerful and it can actually lift those darn trucks from those ravines instead of just failing miserably.
With garage slots I tend to use them for quick access for different style of trucks I need. Like a form of a scout. Cargo hauler, mobil crane, semi tractor, recovery/repair&refuel, and one truck for whatever I happens to need. Like for log transport or something else. I also do try to remember to "retire" them when I need to chance maps or something like that. But it might also work like that for me as most of the trucks I use tends to be "multt-roled" as I can use the truck Im using for cargo hauling to log transport and so on.
Certain trailers I use on rare occasions when I know I don't have to cross tough terrain. But I wholeheartedly agree with the 8-slot heavy trailer... it's always so tempting to think you can complete a mission with one delivery, but you always wind up hopelessly stuck somewhere with that blasted thing. 😅
It may be me, but in Michigan I already needed to use the heavy crane twice and it did me really good. It is a very specific tool to use but saved me big time.
I use the 8 slot trailer now and then, especially for setting up big hauls, but I look at the map and figure out if it's going to be a problem. I've also managed to sneak that trailer through places I shouldn't. Like in Tennessee from the garage to the north plant. That was a fun drive with an 8 slot.
i have i truck setup specifically for heavy recovery jobs. So for example i roll the mastodon with a super heavy semi trail on the back, i have a truck that will be able to lift it while also being able to go anywhere. 2:01 irl they are also used exclusively as land mine detection tools. Not for trying to find a ww2 armoured car. 3:30 all the reason i don't use scouts anymore.
A lot of people have forgoten a good use of the 8-sloter. A one way bridge! Altough I Feel it should come with counter steering to thighten the turning radious and foldable landing gear. For scouts... I mean I go with the bandidt with a maintenance frame (talk about overkill). My main play is 3 axle with wall bed and crane or 5th wheel and crane, and the rest I try whatever feels right then and there. The tatra tow crane is a big missed chance to have a big repair amount addon with a small amount of fuel, instead of the maintenance addon wich is the oposite.
I have to say, I heavily use the garage slots, although I only ever unpack the trucks I actively use, which is to say the trucks stay retained until I have need of them. I have also used scout flatbeds before, though only the one-wide one. Better than to inch the starter trucks through the backpaths of Black River.
1: Yeah, I don't use it either. Never really found use for such detail in low speeds. 2: Eh, it's handy for truck rescues, but yeah, not much real need for it. I mostly use it when I don't wanna bother fiddling with a smaller one. 3: Never used it yet. I still haven't gotten to a point where I need it, because I keep having to restart the damn campaigns! XD 4: Yeah, no. If anything, then it's for a quirk rescue/cargo reload, and then back to the garage, but yeah. No. 5: Sometimes, but mostly as a novel part of a self-imposed challenge. 6: Oh god, no. Cranes only, thanks. The Telehandler is an interesting change, but thankfully only necessary for that one task. 7: Yep. Used it once. That's enough. Anything else is better. 8: They're good for my self-imposed challenge. Using every truck in sequence, one type after the other. 9: Fun idea, bad execution for incompatible engine physics. 10: I have used them a couple times, but I prefer everything else. Bonus: Yeah, same. Completionism. Not much use or fun otherwise. Though I suppose they could be okay for testing trucks out.
Damn, first video in a while where I agree on 100% 😅. Yeah, you are right. I either dont use these, or just once to try them, or very rarely, +, the Tatra addon is just so sad. Couldve been far better, or we couldve got better addon, but I bet it has something to do with Force bwing licensed Czech truck, so they were like- hey, whatcha have for this powerhouse? And the Tatra was like- this lol. Anyway great video! 🧡
There should be a wrecker attachment for larger trucks for heavy duty vehicle recoveries. Mud tires for some of the American trucks would be nice too to make them competitive to the Russian trucks.
I only use fine tune for vehicles that have the “advanced special” gearbox as an alternative other than stock” because then it’s same speed and fuel consumption never bothers me
I've found there's quite a bit of trucks made redundant as the games life cycle continues. I rarely ever see people using base game trucks like the Freightliners, CATs and the Vorons/Step. Granted the Azovs and most DLC trucks are OP but I sometimes try to use the unseen ones just for a bit of a challenge. It'd be interesting if we got a region that only certain trucks could be used to complete missions, and not with specific add ons or something but the cargo can only be delivered on the back of a Freightliner or something. Being forced to not use an OP truck might make people think more about their route planning and so on
Crane controls are somewhat annoying too. If you want to raise the crane it always extends it too. Same with lowering it, then it pulls the crane in. You just need 4 controls: lowering, raising, extending, pulling it in, left and right. And not sort of 2 functions into 1 that messes up how precisely you can control the crane.
You know those dumb looking log carriers are too tall. The loaded logs themselves look like it’s too much. Going from 2-3 small logs to over 20 is just not cool.
The 8 slot trailer, I only used it to transport as many materials from one map to the other, and make a jenga tower and then organize it one on the other side, and if it was a requirement for a specific cargo to put in, besides that, I use the blue semi trailer 5 slots low saddle or the high saddle 5 slots.
I use garage slots, because for every region I use different set of trucks. That's my playstyle, which allows me to use more variety of vehicles in game.
Yeah, That US crane is too heavy for loadstar...It's almost useless and if they have to have a crane then the one they have on Burlak would've been better as it's much lighter.
Sd1one, how about video of snowrunner's lifehacks and exploits? For example, you can pack the small fuel trailer on the roof/hood of the truck's cabin. By the way you can haul unpacked logs in sideboard trailers/platforms and load logs to logging truck at the destination place.
Garage slots are useful to help friends on their maps. You can bring a truck with cargo on their maps that way. Makes it easier on maps where you need to repair a store to get basic materials as you already have it unlocked on yours
@@therealsimu basically if you completed a map and your friend is working on it you have more options for resources. Such as a factory you'd usually need to unlock before fixing up a bridge that would help you complete the map. So you can go on your map. Grab the resources which are easier to access and then go to the garage and store the truck there and bring out that Truck with the resources in multiplayer. As long as you don't store it.
ill agree with you on all of them except 8, only because i like lookin at all me trucks i got goin lined up and comparing sizes and what not without having to take vehicles out and put em back away over and over
I’ve been trying to get into using other trucks in game. I’ve got the ZikZ 612H that I use a TON. Scouting i mainly use the Yar and Khan Marshall. I just started using the Bandit a little bit. I feel like I’m missing out on some good trucks but I don’t know where to start
F750 is my go go scout, and I still use it all the time. Initially to scout everywhere and then to repair ecover tipped over trucks etc. I do play on NG+ mode though, where automated recovery is very expensive. Pro Tip: Increase your difficulty settings in NG+ mode and have a lot more fun and use a lot more trucks!
I use that heavy crane when I manage to really stupid my truck and can’t get a winch on another truck to flip me back on my wheels. Also used it on city skylines I think it’s called in Kola. Just lifted my scout over the wall.
Few things I learned watching your video and started doing is I unpack the cargo when overloading my truck. This way my truck has less weight when overloaded. Also I do multiple trips for even small missions because hauling semi trailers from mud is a really tedious and frustrating part of this game for me. So now I just overload my truck with crane and go with it 😅😂
First time I used the ramped semi trailer was to get the new dumptruck through all that mud since it was required by the mission I would have used my boar to pull it but no saddle low so I got stuck a lot
I find the big crane useful because every time I use the small cranes they can't lift anything and they always end up flipping my trucks even with the legs extended out
Actually the scout flatbeds are kind of cool. I find that the International Scout 800 with proper tires can do some smaller jobs really well, especially in areas where a big truck might get stuck or won't fit up a narrow road. I only use the two-slot flatbed though, the one-slot flatbed is pretty useless.
With the season 12 came the Femm 37 which completely eliminates the use of the 8 slot semi trailer since it can carry 4 cargo on its custom sideboard bed and can have a trailer meaning you can carry up to 8 cargo slots all while being more manueverable and overall easier to drive
The 8 slot is great for big maps with some roads, like Alaska (the one with the dam). I usually just have a second truck winch turn the trailer if I cant do it myself, and I have lots of trucks scattered on the map so there always is one near. Better that than doing 4 cruises across the map.
you use a second truck for that? i just winch the trailer to an angle where it's not gonna roll but the inside is basically hovering and then use the truck i'm driving to pull forward
@@jochenkraus7016 yeah the twin steer is good too, but I always do find some fun in driving a long trailer behind my bandit or whatever the Russian thing with a hitch was. Crap, I didn't play this game in months, I don't even remember some of my favourite trucks... Shit
I do use #1 quite often, I like being able to tune & optimise traction even if it comes at the cost of fuel, #2 I like having dedicated crane trucks at warehouses so I can just drive up without a small crane, #6 I didn't realise a crane could pick up hay, did everything so far with K700 😅, #10 I tend to agree with many in the comments: they are useful in some maps. For the rest I completely agree, pretty disappointed by the Tatra towing module, even if I did use it to recover Derry Special in Ontario a few months ago (and it was as awful as you could think it could've been)
I use that 8 slot trailer a lot, since it cuts down on having to make tedious multiple trips. I also like using the big cranes, because they have good reach and don't have to drag things across the ground. ;D I expected the all-terrain forklift to be fun, but sadly the control layout is terrible. Things I never use: "high" gear or "low-low" gear.
@@yung_czery my guy here needs to pick up the navistar 5000MV and just zoom across maps in high (with highway gearbox on), on those long ass hauls (alaska's cargopocalipse and master order supreme for example)! took me about 30 minutes to finish those contracts with the navistar, on crack :D first time I did those 2 contracts, I did them with the tayga! don't get me wrong, tayga is good and all, but its slow... even with the highway gearbox! navistar is just insanely fast for SnowRunner!
@@ironmendez5136 I did both of those missions with various truck both in game and mod trucks. I picked coming down from the main road for cargopocalispe, and that was a HUGE mistake. Until i realized it was easier to come up from the bottom.
I actually found the reason to use cranes. It's a bit of an overkill, but I usually use either 3-bed + 4 slot ramped trailer combination or sideboard semi to deliver most cargos, and I place the crane truck usually at the warehouse or train station (like in Wisconsin). It's not a panacea, but at least I've found some use for it.
The only time I used a scout trailer was in the early game when I got the jeep wrangler when I was like level two and it was the only truck I had that could do any sort of offroad
I heard there were 2 mission in BC region that require new crane but they were bugged so you can complete them without crane....don't know if they fixed that bug or not.
@@SD1ONE The one i am thinking of requrings placing the cargo on top of a watchtower frame, and a normal crane didnt seem to be able to lift it high enough, but maybe if my truck were in a different location it would have allowed me to deposit the cargo from the ground
Metal detector blocking other addons even when there's space and useless scout trailers are both things file modding can fix very easily and without completely imbalancing the game. The connection point doesn't look 100% right but the offroad scout trailer works really well on regular trucks unless they're lifted to the heavens above.
The only reason i ever used the new heavy crane was the one mission where the old cranes were not tall enough. Otherwise the frame of the vehicle seems to just bottom out and drag on everything.
The scout trailers would be great on medium truck as easier to drag through mud alternatives but needing to winch them and not being able to pack makes me only use the fuel trailer on larger trucks
searching them is one part but then getting them back by switching back & forth between maps is just little annoying and loading time between maps can increase signifiantly with multiple heavy mods installed
Absolutely agree with the author. I gave up using trailers at all.I prefer to use 2 cars and make "2 floors" of cargo,it,s much better easier and faster at all.
I don’t use the garage slots because I still have ptsd of losing all of those trucks.(if I close the game I also put all the truck back in to the garage) In the beginning of Snowrunner there was this bug that you can lose all your trucks if they weren’t retained.
The only use for solo cranes that I can think is to put weight over the real wheels (and also have a crane) for improving hitch trailer pulling performance
Plus the light cranes get really fiddly with big cargo and loading onto your own semi trailer
It's rare I use them but when I do, it's because I tipped something with a 4-5 slot cargo and need to both right the truck and reload the cargo
Light cranes get really weak when you extend them. I often have to use a heavy crane instead.
Ah yes, the metal detector, does not detect cargo very well from a distance so you pretty much have to drive up next to the cargo anyway.
Yeah on those missions I just used Maprunner to find out where I needed to be. Maybe I was doing something wrong but the metal detector never showed me anything useful, even when I was right there at the mission location.
wait the metal detector does something?
Large long loads are way less of a pain with the larger crane.
The 8 slot trailer is handy with larger trucks and to avoid multiple trips. Also useful if you just want to bring a large amount of cargo to a main road that makes it easier to offload onto smaller trucks.
this comment really make sense tho.
I feel like most of what superheavy does can be achieved with equal or even more success using overloading.
but they are also a pain in the ass to haul them back, I rather do a train cargo system or just do double trip where I don't have to be slow and strategies on every corner, bumps and what not.
Tbh it can save some time if you're trying to get vehicles that are slow like the Taterin out to somewhere reasonably fast
1:18 when you are sleepy and trying to pull up the blanket.
(2 slot, center axles)
I used to use the 8 slot trailers a lot, but once the Paystar 5600 came out with it's 3 slot bed, I usually just use that and a 4 slot ramped flatbed for 7 cargo and much easier turning.
i just used scout flatbed recently and i just hooked one of the lightweight less useful scouts behined a tatarin.
Got to remember this! Haven't had a mission yet where it would've been useful, but I doubt I would think of it.
I actually used a small scout flatbed unironically. Got into a situation where the majority of my cargos are in one area except for one, so I figured it's faster and more efficient to send a scout to grab it.
I use the Superheavy semi-trailer very often. It is a thing that can be used perfectly, but you need to plan the route well.
It's pretty pointless to those of use who can load a truck like we're in India.
@@splitsecondmagicianlmao
Sure, it's correct. But is it really worth increased (often significantly) fuel consumption? Imo not, but as always, to each their own.
I was able to even fish the plane fuselage out of the water using only the russian loader crane. So even for this mission a heavy crane is unnecesary!
Heck in Season 6 I took 8-slots to the second map and dragged them up around where that broken power pole was. lol
9 chances out 10 I don't care what it takes, if I want an 8-Slot to go somewhere, it's going these.
(No idea why those and the debris dont get deleted after you cleared a raod block)
I used a hitched and a towed 4 slot with the Femm today to get 3 large pipes to the warehouse in Alaska^^.
In defense of the ramped flat bed I would suggest using it with a fuel efficient truck like the Azov 64131 to transport thirsty trucks like the Paystar 5600ts across the map to wherever you need that truck to do work, especially if there are paved and dirt roads to get you most of the way there
i think developers should put 8 slot cargo with a steering axle for a better turning radius.. S.P.M.T might be good 🤔
The heavy cranes for me are most useful for recovering stuff or having to twist things in very specific ways. Like the twinsteer. I always make sure I have at least one heavy crane truck. I also have the offroad trailers mod, making that one trailer fantastic for cats. And garage slots I always do, faster than me sorting my stored vehicles
Garage slots are a big pain if you „lose“ a truck. Once I spent over a hour to find a missing truck.
Funfact: the „bale loader“ for the K-700 is actually a log loader as we see in MR
that 8 slot trailer has it use, for excample in yukon map. where you have to deliver vast amount cargo in mine
K700 was really useful in MudRunner for loading logs of any size, way better than log crane
I agree 100%, espcially about respawning option for contests, it's needed.
Also for contests I would add Trials. They are forgettable and have no replay value (I still have two to do, but I'm too lazy lmao).
I liked trials but I felt they were too long for too little content..well most of them.. Mudrunner has those challenges were better IMO
Nice.
I often use the ramped flatbed to transport heavy trucks across regions, since it's usually faster (and more fun)
XD
4: Yeah, no.
Mudrunner was the same with American trucks though
Tnx fo information😊
Wow! I really did not know that zikz 612H with finetune gearbox has faster high gear
well people who know can't forget because high is broken in other gearboxes
The 8 slot trailer, I only used it to transport as many materials from one map to the other, and make a jenga tower and then organize it one on the other side, and if it was a requirement for a specific cargo to put in, besides that, I use the blue semi trailer 5 slots low saddle or the high saddle 5 slots.
I use garage slots, because for every region I use different set of trucks. That's my playstyle, which allows me to use more variety of vehicles in game.
The fact that the Loadstar even has that crane is hilarious. I used it successfully on a spilled cargo rescue once, just for the lulz.
By the way you can haul unpacked logs in sideboard trailers/platforms and load logs to logging truck at the destination place.
unpacked cargo is too bouncey bouncey. especially logs
Garage slots are useful to help friends on their maps. You can bring a truck with cargo on their maps that way. Makes it easier on maps where you need to repair a store to get basic materials as you already have it unlocked on yours
how do Garage slots work?
@@therealsimu basically if you completed a map and your friend is working on it you have more options for resources. Such as a factory you'd usually need to unlock before fixing up a bridge that would help you complete the map. So you can go on your map. Grab the resources which are easier to access and then go to the garage and store the truck there and bring out that Truck with the resources in multiplayer. As long as you don't store it.
ill agree with you on all of them except 8, only because i like lookin at all me trucks i got goin lined up and comparing sizes and what not without having to take vehicles out and put em back away over and over
Couldn't agree with you more on these!
Amazon content, very well made, thanks!
612H has better high gear with the fine tune? THANK YOU for that information! Well done sir!
F750 is my go go scout, and I still use it all the time. Initially to scout everywhere and then to repair
ecover tipped over trucks etc.
I use the heavy cranes to get fallen cargo back onto their trailers. At least that's a reason.
I’ve only ever used the heavy crane once and it was to lift one of my trucks off of a stump because it bottomed out on it
I find the big crane useful because every time I use the small cranes they can't lift anything and they always end up flipping my trucks even with the legs extended out
Actually the scout flatbeds are kind of cool.
Yes, it's most convenient way to carry 8 slot... although that steering can make it hard to drive but not as hard as 8 slot semi
@@M3PH11 yeah that's what I do too, but sometimes it's better to just push the trailer with a scout or another truck
Depending on the load, the Twin Steer with three slot bed and the low bed trailer with four slots aren't far behind in capacity.
For the rest I completely agree, pretty disappointed by the Tatra towing module, even if I did use it to recover Derry Special in Ontario a few months ago (and it was as awful as you could think it could've been)
good points... Thanks for sharing them as it helps me to understand other people prospective like why they use them...
High gear is perfect for constant high speed offroad.
I have just started playing snowrunner a month ago, garage slots is really one of the useless thing I observed in the game
I use scout flatbeds all the time. Very convenient since scouts are much more versatile
I use garage slots all the time. I find it pretty easy to keep track of all my trucks
9.5/10 feel the same. Kudos!
The only time I used a scout trailer was in the early game when I got the jeep wrangler when I was like level two and it was the only truck I had that could do any sort of offroad
1:20 there is a mission in BC where you need the lenfth of the new heavty crane, the two previous heavy cranes are not long/tall enough
That’s why you retain the trucks THEN transfer regions, you’ll have the trucks.
If you want to restart just closed app and restart itll bring you back to right after your last saving point
If you are searching a Truck: in the F4 Menu is a Tab where it shows on what map you Trucks are.
searching them is one part but then getting them back by switching back & forth between maps is just little annoying and loading time between maps can increase signifiantly with multiple heavy mods installed
With the telescope loader with wide fork you can load straw balls too. For people who want play like in farming simulators
Absolutely agree with the author.
I gave up using trailers at all.I prefer to use 2 cars and make "2 floors" of cargo,it,s much better easier and faster at all.
I don’t use the garage slots because I still have ptsd of losing all of those trucks.(if I close the game I also put all the truck back in to the garage)
In the beginning of Snowrunner there was this bug that you can lose all your trucks if they weren’t retained.
The only use for solo cranes that I can think is to put weight over the real wheels (and also have a crane) for improving hitch trailer pulling performance
The US Army uses the husky for IED's which has a device in the front and in the middle
