This has been my project for the last few weeks, but I'm done with it for now and will be moving on to Super Mario Bros. 3 Warpless (with a goal of a 52:XX time). OMG Darbian, you have no idea how much it means to me to see you play through this game! When I was a child I had this game on Game Boy. I used to try to play through the first world as quickly as possible (I had never heard of speed running then, obviously). At some point I got so good at it, I was able to speed run the first world blindfolded. I have never done this with any other game. Seeing you breeze through this is the best experience EVER. Thank you.

Though i learned to play this game quite differently i must admit this was really relaxing.I usually ending this in 30 minutes plus (not a good speedrunner) with a big high score because i am greedy with it!
The music was so damn good for a launch game on the world's first handheld of the Gameboy's type (not a Tiger game). It's unfortunate that it is a super short game. It should have had at least another 3 worlds.

I remember playing this in the car, and having to pause the game every few seconds between streetlights. Back then, the Gameboy screens weren't backlit, so you couldn't play in the dark.
This game, to me, was always better than SML2. Both are amazing, but I feel like this was...just pure magic. I love the scaling. It make Mario seem so small. like its own little world. :)

Today I got this game from someone on Kijiji, to play on my Game Boy Color I got a few weeks ago. For a launch title Game Boy game, it's pretty darn good. I'm only 19, but I love the classic stuff. Trying to speed run 1-1, it's not working very well, but maybe one day I'll be as good as you.
Is 361 on 1:1 really the fastest time possible? As a kid (long time ago) before i even knew that speedrunning actually exists, i played this game on my gameboy way more often than i should have, and even back then, it always bugged me that it´s so close to a 362 so played 1:1 over & over again and i could swear, one time, my gameboy showed me once a 362. By now i "know" it is pretty much impossible when the TAS has a time of 361. Maybe i miss looked, or the sun had some shadows of on my gameboy blocking some pixels, making me think it was a 362. Stil remeber it and even shouted it out on this long bus trip. Maybe it´s just somekind of falls memory, that´s why im curious.
